00:00Another day of active severe weather across the southern plains into the Mississippi Valley.
00:04We've already seen severe weather.
00:05Hail as big as 3 inches in diameter reported with storms in southern Missouri.
00:09And we could be looking at hail even bigger than that,
00:12especially as you get further to the east across northern Texas.
00:15Folks in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, park your cars in the garage tonight.
00:18You might be thankful for that if one of those storms really gets going out that way.
00:22You could be looking at hail up to softball size.
00:24And we've already seen, again, baseball and bigger with some of the hail already.
00:28Some of the early storms, that threat going to linger well into the evening.
00:32I'm here just outside of Sykeston, Missouri.
00:34We'll be tracking storms across southern Missouri and northern Arkansas later today.
00:39Numerous severe weather watches in effect.
00:41That includes both severe thunderstorm and tornado watches.
00:44And that threat will mainly be large hail.
00:47But, again, we can't rule out those isolated tornadoes and some damaging wind gusts in as well.
00:51Have that AccuWeather app handy.
00:53Make sure you're getting those push notifications, especially when warnings affect the areas that you are in.
00:58And they can target right to where you are.
00:59It is extremely helpful, especially if you're out on the go, just like I will be here through the rest
01:04of the evening.
01:05Reporting from Sykeston, Missouri, for AccuWeather, I'm meteorologist Tony Laubach.
