00:01This program documents actual homicide investigations.
00:05Criminal charges are often dropped or reduced,
00:07and all suspects shown are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
00:24This is 911. Do you need police, fire, or medical?
00:30Hello, this is 911. Can you hear me?
00:33I'm hearing, I'm hearing, I'm hearing.
00:35Releasing the line, tempting call back.
00:41Hello, this is 911. We got a call from this number. Is everything okay?
00:46Medical number, I'm hearing.
00:50Do you please fire or medical?
00:51I'm using an ambulance.
00:55Hello?
00:55Hello?
00:56I received this caller, and they haven't said anything to me,
00:59but I keep hearing them in the background talk about an ambulance.
01:02Is this on Columbia?
01:03Yes, we're on the way.
01:10They'll come out in the driveway, face down.
01:14There's a lot of blood.
01:15Oh my God!
01:15Oh my God!
01:16Oh my God!
01:24What's that?
01:25Hi.
01:26Oh my God!
01:26My family was saying, like, he hit himself.
01:28Yeah.
01:29He fell down and cracked his jaw on the ground.
01:44They have a scan right now to see if there's a bullet inside his head.
01:59They just confirmed it's either a 9mm or a 38.
02:04There's probably going to be a call for homicide at this point.
02:14For homicide detectives, their chance of solving a murder is cut in half if they don't get a lead within
02:21the first 48 hours.
02:41All right, let's walk it out and see this.
02:49Mr. Stokes, how are you?
02:53They transport this guy from his house.
02:57They get him into the ER, do a CAT scan, and figure out he's got a gunshot wound to the
03:02back of his head.
03:059mm or a 38.
03:07Doc says he's going to go 10-7.
03:09He's not yet.
03:11You guys know that?
03:12I want Estrada.
03:1741-year-old Ricardo Estrada, known to his friends as Panda, was born in Racine, Wisconsin, and worked as a
03:24house painter.
03:26He enjoys going to church with family, cooking, and building art projects with his two children.
03:37You guys get the initial story?
03:39Yes.
03:39So son tells mom, hey, I've got to go outside to my truck.
03:43He's out here for a while.
03:46Mom comes out and discovers him laying right there.
03:56Mom brings that towel out there and covers it.
04:00There's some glasses laying there, and it also looks like there's a bag of white powder.
04:07The victim's pickup truck.
04:09It's a couple cases of beer.
04:11Maybe he's going to sell somebody some dope.
04:14He's going to meet him here.
04:15He goes to QT real quick to get some beers, pulls back up to meet him, and something goes bad.
04:28We looked in this yard, and we looked in this yard.
04:30I couldn't be in time-stated casing.
04:35Now, after mom found him about the towel, the girlfriend came out there and was like, oh, my God, oh,
04:41my God.
04:42Officers found Ricardo's girlfriend, collapsed inside the house, and took her to the hospital for evaluation.
04:50Girlfriend being in me.
04:51I just had to go up there and kind of talk to her.
04:55There's a cell phone on the bed.
04:57Let me talk to Karen real quick.
05:05Their son's cell phone.
05:07Going to take it.
05:07I'm going to take it.
05:16Do you want me to take it?
05:17We'll take it, you have to.
05:19All right.
05:35All right.
05:36Oh, sir.
05:38And your cameras don't work?
05:39No.
05:44She's got a ring camera.
05:46She's doing action on the press now.
05:48This camera, we really turned it on right before we left.
05:51It doesn't really show anything, but you can kind of hear some people talking.
05:53You can hear the gunshots.
05:56That's promising.
05:58Guy's still alive at the hospital, but he is more than likely not going to survive his injuries.
06:05We did find a baggie of white powder substance, so it could be narcotics related.
06:11But we're not sure. We don't know what the motive would be right now.
06:17Girlfriend's at the hospital. We're trying to talk to her.
06:19Now we're just going to kind of go back to tech division, regroup, maybe watch this video, see what we
06:25can hear and see.
06:39One of the neighbors ring videos.
06:42They're just the foot.
06:46Is that the sidewalk you said?
06:47Sideway?
06:49That's what?
06:51Near the ring.
06:58It sounds like there was a conversation between maybe the victim and somebody else, male.
07:04Play this lesson, try to hear what they're saying.
07:13We don't actually see it in that video, we just have the audio.
07:16It says what, 10?
07:18The shot?
07:1924?
07:19Yeah.
07:21Run that back and see if you guys hear a car leaving.
07:26Did you hear a door close?
07:31There was.
07:32It sounded like your car left.
07:34So I guess quick trick video, put in a request for that.
07:38Like he did a beer run.
07:40The victim's pickup truck.
07:42A couple cases of beer.
07:44See if he actually went to the quick trick.
07:47I mean, but we have to do a 6.30 to, what, 10.30?
07:53Go that route.
07:55We're going to talk to a girlfriend up at the hospital right now.
08:00Check it, you're ready.
08:01Let's roll it.
08:02Get her done.
08:03And then, hopefully, best case she can tell me, hey, this is who he's been beefing with.
08:23Sorry you're going through all this.
08:25Walk me through what happened tonight.
08:28We started fixing something to eat.
08:32He ends up going from the table to go to the truck to pick up his phone.
08:38And all of a sudden I hear a big loud noise.
08:42The first thing I thought was a gunshot.
08:45I was like, no, it can't be.
08:46Yeah.
08:48That's when I walk outside and I heard a funny noise.
08:53And I see him laying down face first.
08:58At first, I thought he had tripped and he was hit.
09:01It's like I felt he was, like, fighting for that air in me.
09:06That's why he had hit tomorrow.
09:10I glanced at him, but I just can't, like, see it again.
09:14Like, and I didn't know if what it was.
09:17Okay.
09:18Do you know if he ever got his cell phone out of his truck?
09:21He did because when I had moved him, his phone wasn't just set off.
09:27So I put it in my bed.
09:28He's still in that bed?
09:29Okay.
09:30Um, is he selling drugs or anything like that?
09:32Um, I don't think he's selling it.
09:38It's more like he's buying it.
09:40You?
09:41Yeah.
09:42Kind of baggy, the drugs.
09:44What does Rich usually use in you?
09:46Um, man.
09:48Yeah.
09:49I've been trying to get him to balance it out because he smokes a lot and he changes a lot.
09:56He's a very smart man when he gets sober.
10:02Do you have, like, a friend that he's arguing back and forth or anything like that?
10:07Um, yeah.
10:09We've been having, like, our conflict with one of his friends because of some tools started going missing.
10:18Then my stuff going missing.
10:20Like, oh, I know who, you know who it is.
10:23His friend is this?
10:24Um, his name is Ivan, I guess.
10:28Yeah.
10:30You try to get some rest, okay?
10:32My car.
10:36I think there was some helpful stuff.
10:38We just gotta get back there and do some research, figure out if we can figure out who this dude
10:41is.
10:45Based upon the video that we have, audio at least, the person knows who the victim is.
10:51We just can't get a picture of the car.
10:55So, I think that's a good lead.
10:57You know, we see the headlights coming down the street.
11:00I believe those headlights belong to our suspect.
11:04You just trust your fingers and hope somebody has a camera system.
11:08And hopefully be able to catch their perpetrator come by.
11:12Maybe daybreak, we can start knuckling doors.
11:15Try to get some more video.
11:17Hopefully we get a suspect vehicle.
11:27Victim spot.
11:29The one that you got in the bedroom.
11:30The one that you got in the bedroom.
11:30The bedroom is his.
11:31The girlfriend said she put it in there.
11:33So, from where he was laying, he put it in there?
11:34I think she said it was in his pocket.
11:36There's some messages, text messages.
11:38It was on the screen when I first saw it.
11:41There was another text message on there.
11:43Ivan Diaz.
11:44That's it.
11:45Is this the one that popped up?
11:47Ivan Diaz is his friend that she said.
11:49Yeah.
11:50I'm going to stop and get to Feria.
11:52Like I told you, you better not have me on the money, Panda.
11:56That's at 1021.
11:57And he shot at 1023 or something like that?
11:591024 is when the gunshot goes off.
12:09Based on the video that we have, 1023 is when somebody rolls up.
12:14But maybe it's Ivan Diaz.
12:18And she said Ivan lives in Owasso, right?
12:20Yeah.
12:27His girlfriend says Ivan's his friend, but they're getting into it.
12:31I think over from Tools or something like that.
12:33Still in .
12:34There's a couple of voice messages.
12:36Yeah.
12:37McNeil finds several voice memos from Ricardo to Ivan,
12:40earlier in the messenger threat.
12:41I got to play it then.
12:42Let me play it first.
12:46That's the victim?
12:47Yeah.
12:48Well, he sent this to Ivan Diaz on the 24th.
12:51I know you came up here and take my ass and we ate him.
12:55I'll run him to your house, man.
12:57I'll charge him all.
12:58I'm going to beat your ass.
13:01.
13:01This here is .
13:05Ivan replies to him yesterday at 1021, 2221, saying he's coming by.
13:13He sent a message to the victim three minutes before he gets shot.
13:17I would say that would be justification for somebody to come by there.
13:21Not that the shooting is justified.
13:23I would say that would be . . .
13:25It might prompt a visit.
13:26Yeah.
13:26Yeah.
13:29Yeah.
13:30Now I got to try who's Ivan.
13:31Ivan Diaz is losing a wasp.
13:37All right.
13:38So Ivan Garcia also goes by Garcia Diaz.
13:4739-year-old Ivan Diaz Garcia is originally from California.
13:52He attended a technical college and worked as a welder.
13:55He has a previous conviction for domestic assault and battery.
14:00Anything in there that says what he should be driving?
14:05Ivan's mom's car, it's a Nissan Murano.
14:10And it hits a whole bunch in our flop the past month at late times at night.
14:16Very high crime sketchy areas.
14:18I'm thinking that's him driving it.
14:20Maybe we can find some video in the street to try to track that car down.
14:24Canvas, the houses, north and south of there.
14:28If I can put him there, I think we're good to move forward on him.
14:33You want to drive or you want me to drive?
14:34I can drive.
14:35Thank you, guys.
14:43Jeremy and I are going to go knuckle a couple of doors that we saw video cameras on earlier.
14:48Where this murder took place.
14:50We know a car came through probably about 30 to 45 seconds before a victim was shot.
14:55We just don't know anything about that vehicle.
14:58They left going this direction.
15:00Hopefully one of these cameras will get a tag number.
15:02We'll see.
15:08Hey, Tulsa, please.
15:09I see you got cameras.
15:11Your cameras work?
15:12No.
15:18Hey, I'll just make them go this way.
15:21You hold the fence and go knock on the door.
15:23No, no.
15:24Can I leave you a card with you?
15:30They've got three or four cameras up there.
15:34Nobody's answering, though.
15:35You know, so left a card on the door.
15:51We've got nothing.
15:53It's going to be one of those that we're going to have to build slowly.
15:57The only thing we've got now is a text in there that says, I'm going to come by.
16:04So you just talked to him about that.
16:05Get him locked into a story.
16:07Yeah, I sent a text message, but I was with Barbara.
16:10Get his timeline.
16:10But the only problem is if he doesn't want to come in.
16:13Usually, Susquecks are willing to tell the next day, yeah, you got me.
16:16No, you didn't.
16:17Or they just, you were catching him in a lot.
16:19Don't think about it tonight.
16:21After working overnight on the case.
16:24Yeah, I'm tired.
16:25The team wraps up for the day.
16:27Right now, I'm leaning towards Ivan.
16:30He basically messages the victim three minutes before he was shot.
16:34And they, the victim had met, sent a voice message threatening him and his family.
16:41There's motive there.
16:43Follow the Ivan trail.
16:44Now he's got to, you know, find some really, really good solid evidence that puts him there.
16:50We'll look at it tomorrow.
17:04The next day.
17:06So Ricardo died yesterday.
17:10I think it was pronounced just about past 4 p.m.
17:14They had taken him off the ventilator.
17:17Yeah, we're going to go.
17:18I'm going to talk to parents.
17:19See if they maybe know anything else, heard anything else.
17:22Dude, I'm leaning towards Ivan, dude.
17:24The victim sent him a message the day before threatening him.
17:28But it's not enough for an arrest.
17:30You know what I mean?
17:31Right.
17:35We're going back to the neighborhood where the homicide happened.
17:38There's a couple of houses that have nice cameras that we weren't able to reach anybody yesterday at.
17:43So we're going to try again today.
17:45Can we look at your cameras?
17:51Got the video.
17:54After the shooting, a SUV drives north past the house.
17:59There's something there.
18:12Kind of in a hurry.
18:14It's a blur.
18:15It's fast.
18:18And it's a black SUV of some kind.
18:22At least try to figure out what make and model.
18:24Yeah.
18:25Yeah.
18:27I mean, it's hard to tell for scope.
18:29Right here.
18:30Rule out that moreto?
18:32I think so.
18:33I think it's bigger than that.
18:35The vehicle doesn't match the one they believe Ivan has been driving.
18:40Can you tell anything on the car?
18:42Not really.
18:43You just see a blur with some brake lights go by.
18:46You're not going to get much out of this.
18:47You need to see that back.
18:49So I need to try to see if we can associate Ivan with maybe a dark color SUV.
18:58I think I can log into freaking Leeds Online.
19:02McNeil checks an online database where local businesses report transactions.
19:07Oh, it's cooking.
19:08All right.
19:11And I got a bunch of heads to reference him pawning and selling scrap metal to different
19:18companies in the Tulsa metro area.
19:21We have his ID.
19:23We have him, a photo of him selling the scrap and the vehicle he showed up in.
19:29It's a Buick Rendezvous.
19:30It's a newer tribal type, which is very unique.
19:34McNeil runs the license plate of the SUV Ivan drove to the recycling center.
19:41The car checks back to some guy who lives in a Y-Sail.
19:48You know, Ivan, it's his neighbor who lives down the street.
19:52Either he's just borrowing the car from the neighbor, or I don't know if he bought it.
20:00And so, running the tag, we flock.
20:05On flock, they're much higher quality cameras.
20:08They actually show you a color photo.
20:10Ma'am, you know what?
20:14That's the car.
20:28Do you have a driver shot?
20:31Do you have anything on the other side?
20:33I doubt it.
20:39I mean, it's definitely a rendezvous in the parking lot.
20:42It's a quick trip.
20:42Let me show you.
20:45There had been some beer found inside of the victim vehicle.
20:48So I went to the closest store in the area.
20:53Maybe he got into it with somebody.
20:55Several vehicles were in front of the store.
21:01Here, let me show you these photos real quick.
21:04And I was just taking photos of just cars.
21:06And that's at 2221.
21:08And whatever you have on that flock is it.
21:10And, you know, look at the wheels.
21:12See?
21:12Definitely black wheels.
21:14Let me look at that.
21:15Does that?
21:16Oh, it's definitely a rendezvous.
21:18Sunroof, sunroof.
21:20And then look at the taillights, the rear taillights,
21:22how they angle forward.
21:23I'm trying to see if you have black wheels.
21:25You can see the third.
21:26Go back.
21:28Is that it?
21:29This is the car.
21:31Yeah.
21:32See when he gets on the brake light,
21:33the third brake light at the top.
21:35Yeah.
21:36Gosh.
21:37I wish I could see that tag.
21:40Even if you can just get an angle of the tag
21:42where you can see what kind of tag it is.
21:45Because you're going to be able to tell
21:46that it's that tribal tag.
21:49Are you going to run down there
21:50and see if I can pull that for you?
21:52Yeah.
21:52I get another view of it
21:54and see if anybody coming inside from this store
21:56or into the store.
22:07As the clock winds down.
22:10We actually got the hard copy of the video.
22:15It's got our suspect vehicle showing up to the store
22:18for about six minutes before it's at our victim's house.
22:22Female.
22:23It's at a passenger side.
22:27Goes inside and buys something at QT.
22:30It's a male that's driving the vehicle,
22:33but I can't tell who's driving it.
22:36I don't think he gets out.
22:37That's as good as it's going to get.
22:41It's like he's looking down at times.
22:45I mean, this has got to be where he is
22:47when he sends that Facebook message.
22:49If it's at 10-21.
22:50Yeah.
22:51Then he's sitting here about to text the victim.
22:53My big thing is if we can just,
22:55if we can get a shot of that tag.
22:58The tag's going to be tough.
22:59Yeah.
23:00He's going to go west and south, but...
23:04Pause that.
23:09You can see the color of the tag.
23:11It's a tribal tag.
23:12It's the same tag that's on flop.
23:16That's it, dude.
23:17That's the same.
23:18That's a Buick.
23:19Not many of those rolling around now.
23:22An 06.
23:23And then with a text message sent to the victim
23:25three minutes before he shot.
23:30It's not a PC for an arrest,
23:32but a lot of this stuff is really pointing toward Ivan.
23:34The quick trip, you can tell it's the same color tag,
23:36same tag that's on the vehicle that he had sold metal
23:39out of four months ago.
23:42Tomorrow we have to track who owns that car.
24:00I think with what we have right now,
24:03a Buick rendezvous,
24:05I believe is there going to be our suspect vehicle.
24:07If we catch both of them in that car,
24:09Ivan and her,
24:10that's investigative detention.
24:11We bring them down here.
24:12Nothing to lose.
24:14Max and Jeremy are going to try and contact their owner
24:19of that car and see if they still own the car,
24:22if they sold it.
24:23Basically, everybody else is looking for the car.
24:29So I contacted Fraley.
24:30That's where he did a lot of selling his scrap.
24:33And I told him,
24:34hey, this is what I'm looking for.
24:35This is the vehicle I'm looking for.
24:36Sent him a photo of the vehicle.
24:44No one's seen Ivan in over a week.
24:45Oh, you should say that.
24:47So you're going to report a stolen?
24:48Yeah, I'll report a stolen.
24:50The owner of the Buick is saying
24:53that he gave Ivan the car
24:54because Ivan was supposed to do some work
24:55on the car for him.
24:57And then Ivan hasn't returned the car
24:59and he can't get in contact with Ivan.
25:01There's a car's reported stolen.
25:03So Brandon's going to put out a tip sheet of her boy.
25:08Field officers are rolling around,
25:10want to have as much information as possible
25:12so they can help.
25:13Somebody will be looking for him,
25:14hunting for him this evening,
25:16and we'll get him stopped.
25:39Two days into the search,
25:41there was no sign of the Buick or Ivan.
25:46So did he not hit on...
25:47No, he hasn't hit on the ball.
25:49He's not hitting tags.
25:51I think he knows to stay off the main roads in that car.
25:54Okay.
25:55He drove around in it on the 26th.
25:57He drove around in it on the 27th.
25:59And then he disappeared.
26:00So I don't think he's that scared of the car.
26:02We haven't blasted him on the news.
26:03We haven't blasted that car.
26:05If we do that,
26:06then he's going to be like...
26:07Yeah.
26:09Puff.
26:10I almost wonder if he was just trying to get
26:12some money and things up
26:14so that he could go on the land.
26:17Then...
26:19Hey, Detective McNeil.
26:20The manager of the recycling center calls back.
26:23So he came there today?
26:25Okay.
26:26What time did he come?
26:31Okay.
26:32Was he in that car?
26:32That same SUV?
26:39What did he come in from?
26:41Did he try to sell some stuff
26:42or did he sell stuff today?
26:45No.
26:46I really thank you for...
26:47appreciate you for doing that.
26:48Okay.
26:49Thanks, brother.
26:50All right.
26:51He was at Fraley's today at 11 o'clock
26:53in that vehicle.
26:55Ivan.
27:00I sat in their parking lot
27:01for about 15 minutes this morning
27:02and it's about 8.30.
27:03I ran him at 9 this morning
27:05and he hadn't sold since the 13th.
27:08He came in at 11 a day,
27:09sold 90 hours worth of stuff.
27:10In that car?
27:12Yes.
27:13So, he's still rolling around in that car?
27:15Hey, he's still local?
27:16That's good.
27:17I'm hoping he'll go maybe sell scrap tomorrow.
27:20We're gonna go buy Fraley's
27:22and try to snatch him up.
27:27The next day.
27:33The next day.
27:36Hands up!
27:39Hands up!
27:42Hands up!
27:43Hands up!
27:43Walk!
27:45Walk!
27:46Walk!
27:46Walk!
27:48He's trying to find him.
27:50You're under arrest.
27:51For what?
27:52For a stolen car.
27:58Talk to the executive
27:58and hash all that out, okay?
28:12We can't charge him with the murder yet.
28:13We don't have enough.
28:15Sometimes you just have to get the person up here somehow to give you a statement.
28:19I think we're to the point that we have nothing to lose.
28:22He can immediately just say, you know, I don't want to talk about anything, and it's over.
28:26Hopefully he'll talk to us.
28:31I'm detecting me, Neil.
28:32Call me Vernon.
28:34So, man, you hear about that car?
28:37I got permission from my neighbor.
28:39I guess on my phone, I texted him, and he takes me back.
28:42It's been reported as stolen, okay?
28:46I didn't steal the car.
28:49When did he let you take the car?
28:51Do you remember what day it might have been?
28:53Last week, last Friday or something like that.
28:56Okay, so you've had it for a little over a week?
28:59Yeah, I'll give or take, maybe a little less.
29:02I was actually helping two people.
29:04One of them, she lives in Claremont, the other one lives in the mountains.
29:08Do you let other people drive his car, or is it just always with you?
29:12Why do you ask that?
29:14He'll want to know.
29:16He'll want to know?
29:17If I let you have my car, I want to know that you're not letting other people drive my car
29:21around.
29:22Know what I mean?
29:23I remember, uh, I let somebody use it to go with some things and stuff, and I didn't think nothing
29:31of it.
29:31But I mean, um, why you ask that?
29:35I mean, that's it.
29:37Oh, because when I call this guy and have to tell him, hey, your car's, you need to go pick
29:41your car up eventually,
29:43my experience, that's the first thing he's going to ask me.
29:44Where is it?
29:45Who was driving it?
29:47Who did they do to let me drive my car?
29:49Is it messed up?
29:49Is it wrecked?
29:50All this other stuff.
29:52One thing that, I mean, if you don't meet the car, and like, he's going to sell it to me,
29:57like, you know, in a way,
29:58um, why would I mess it up, and why would I take risk of, you know, crashing it?
30:02Every time I have borrowed it, it's always vacuumed, cleaned, detailed, and everything.
30:08Okay.
30:09We'll be right back in a minute.
30:16Yeah, he's.
30:23Very nervous.
30:24He's very, he knows what's, he knows what's going on.
30:27And he, he, he understands when these guys are rolling up for a stolen car, it's more than that.
30:31I think that's why it's tippy-toe.
30:33And he's going to shut down.
30:36We're going to have to eventually get to the point where, listen, man, that, we think that car was possibly
30:40used,
30:40uh, and, and, uh, maybe a shooting.
30:43I would just straight up say it was.
30:45He doesn't know we don't have it, have it on here.
30:47And so.
30:48He's going to lie.
30:48I mean, he's going to lie, but what do you have to lose?
30:59All right, man, man, you said that you let somebody borrow the car.
31:03Do you remember when that was?
31:05Sometime during the weekend.
31:07Who were you with last weekend?
31:08When did, when?
31:08I spent nine with her over there at her apartment.
31:10Ivan gives the name and phone number of a friend he helped move.
31:15We were just, were there at her apartment packing and moving her stuff to her storage unit.
31:21And we were going back and forth to Claremore.
31:24Here's the deal, man.
31:25Um, we think that car might have been possibly used in a shooting over the past weekend.
31:35When you mean shooting, what the hell do you mean, like shooting?
31:38Well, some guy got shot in front of his house up north.
31:40And we think maybe that car that you were in was possibly used.
31:46And it happened this past weekend.
31:49How would you know that?
31:51How do you know that, though, and specifically?
31:54Well.
31:55That that car was used.
31:56I said possibly used.
31:58Why don't you tell me who the person was?
32:00You know, because, I mean, you're, you're going somewhere that I...
32:05You're saying you let somebody brought over the weekend.
32:07You're talking about her.
32:08The person that you're talking about, he's, he was my buddy.
32:20You're talking about Richie?
32:21Yes.
32:22Oh, you know Richie?
32:23Yes, Panda, I call him.
32:24Panda?
32:25Okay.
32:26Like, I know what you're talking about, man.
32:30When was the last time you saw Panda?
32:33And I just happened to stop by early in the week.
32:37Then yesterday, one of my friends told me.
32:39Mm-hmm.
32:39And I was like, I'm still in disbelief that, you know.
32:43Yeah.
32:43Sit tight, man.
32:45I'm going to confirm that you were in Claremore, and we'll go from there.
32:48Mm-hmm.
32:51Let's run these names of the people he gave us, and then we'll figure out.
32:55Is that her?
32:56That's where she goes by?
32:58That's who that is?
32:58And she had number checks, too.
32:59Look at the clip from here, the eyes.
33:01That's her.
33:03Yeah, this is her.
33:04Okay.
33:05The woman Ivan says he helped move appears to be the same woman in the convenience store video.
33:10That's her girl.
33:11And he actually gave us the name.
33:13You've reached the point now.
33:14He's lying so much.
33:15He's PC-able easily.
33:17I was in Claremore.
33:18When did you let the person borrow the car?
33:20That afternoon.
33:21So you had possession of the car.
33:23You're done, son.
33:23I mean, that's what I want to get, man.
33:26Yeah.
33:27Okay, let me grab the victim's phone so I can start hitting him with some stuff.
33:33I want him to know a little bit of what I have.
33:35I'm going to show him some pictures, but I want him to know, hey, dude, I'm not just, you know,
33:38blowing smoke.
33:41All right, let's do this.
33:48All right, buddy.
33:49I want you to listen to something real quick.
33:51Remember this?
33:52Look, bitch, I know you came up here and take my ass weed.
33:56I'm going to beat your ass.
33:58Get that serious, nigga.
33:59Who did that send to?
34:01That sent to Ivan Diaz on Facebook.
34:04He sent that to me?
34:05Mm-hmm.
34:07And I didn't even see him.
34:09When was the last time you tried to make contact with Panda?
34:14I think I texted him.
34:16He was going to pay me the remaining 40 bucks that he owed me.
34:20Looked like something.
34:20Yeah, that's what it was.
34:21Okay.
34:21Where were you at when you sent that message?
34:25I was in Claremore.
34:28Okay.
34:28He says he sent it while he was helping his friend move.
34:31So then I texted him that, like, you know, the fuck we got that money because, you know, like, that's
34:35all I got.
34:35Yeah.
34:36Like, and, uh, he didn't answer, so we, I took off to Claremore, and, uh, she can vouch for that,
34:43man.
34:44Who's this?
34:47That's her.
34:48You know where that?
34:48The quick trip.
34:49Yeah.
34:50Were you with her when she was at the quick trip?
34:52Yeah.
34:53Okay.
34:53When you left this QT, where did you go?
34:55We went back to her house, back to that, because, uh, Ricardo didn't answer the phone.
35:00Which route did y'all go?
35:01Man, I don't remember.
35:02We jumped in the highway.
35:03I think it was her.
35:04I don't know, man.
35:05I don't remember that, honestly.
35:06No, we didn't stop by his house.
35:08Yes, you did.
35:08I know you were there because it's on video.
35:12That's how I know the car that you were in was there.
35:15We went there where?
35:17At Ricardo's house when he was shot.
35:20I wasn't there when he got shot.
35:22Yes, you were.
35:23If you were in that car and you were driving that car, you were there because it's on video.
35:30I didn't shoot Ricardo, man.
35:32You were there, man.
35:34And this is...
35:35I've been there, but I didn't...
35:37Okay, then this is where...
35:39Dude, this is where...
35:40Okay, look, man.
35:40I stopped by.
35:41He was there in his truck, and he's like...
35:45He said he was gonna go get something to eat.
35:46Okay.
35:47So I left.
35:49You know, like, all right, whatever, kind of.
35:50So I left.
35:51Okay, let me explain something to you.
35:53You sent him a text.
35:54That's at 1021.
35:55Okay.
35:56Leave the quick trip right at 1022 p.m.
35:59Uh-huh.
36:00Pull up to his house at 1023 p.m.
36:02Because it's on video.
36:03The car takes off.
36:04Are you shooting him?
36:05Yes.
36:07Then...
36:07No, you don't.
36:09Because you wouldn't be asking me all this stuff, man.
36:11From his house.
36:11Don't give me the camera footage, man.
36:12I'll have to show you the camera footage.
36:14Then why...
36:15Then you're just fishing because...
36:16I'm not fishing.
36:17You're getting charged with first-degree murder.
36:18I'm not...
36:19Like, you got...
36:20Dude, I'm coming to you man to man
36:21to see if you're going to tell me what went down.
36:24Did he threaten you in a way
36:25that you had to defend yourself?
36:26What went down?
36:29Come on, man.
36:29You've been kind of dancing around.
36:31Just be straight up with us.
36:33Why...
36:33Why did that happen the way it did?
36:37You heard the messages that he sent me?
36:39The voice went?
36:40Yes.
36:41Not long before that.
36:43Mm-hmm.
36:44We took a trailer, closed-in trailer,
36:48like, the weekend before that.
36:51We sold the trailer for $1,500.
36:54Inside the trailer, it was out of power washers.
36:57The next morning I go over there,
36:58he had already sold one of those power washers.
37:02Brother's not paying me until Saturday.
37:05I was like, all right, cool, man.
37:07That's when I told him, like, you know,
37:09don't me on the money, man,
37:10because I'm broke.
37:14What I'm going to say next,
37:15this is going to change the whole thing.
37:30So why, man?
37:32What happened out there?
37:37Those messages, it's been, like,
37:39him getting the gun more than, like, you know?
37:42Those messages that he sent you,
37:43did you actually hear those before you went out there?
37:45Okay, so you heard them.
37:47All my life has already changed
37:49the minute you arrested me
37:52and charged me with murder.
38:00whenever the cops pulled up on me
38:01and all of them, you know,
38:03stormed out of nowhere,
38:06and I seen the guns pointing at me,
38:08I knew what you guys were there for.
38:10It was in the car.
38:11Like I said, I don't think you're a dummy.
38:15Where do you just try it?
38:16You tell me.
38:17No, I mean, like...
38:19Where on his body?
38:20Yeah.
38:21Where do you tell me?
38:22I don't know.
38:22Like, I don't know.
38:24I don't know.
38:24I'm trying to give you the opportunity
38:25to do the right thing.
38:26I'm trying to do the right thing, man.
38:27Like, look...
38:33He was my friend, man.
38:35Give me that.
38:37Ivan, what did he say to you, man?
38:39You didn't hear that part in the video?
38:46I know what you're doing, man.
38:48I'm not trying to...
38:49No, no, no.
38:50You're...
38:52You're trying to figure out
38:53what do they really have on me.
38:56Yeah.
38:56You don't...
38:57Let's not play this game, man.
38:58We've been here almost...
38:59We've been here probably three hours, bro,
39:01and you just keep diverting.
39:04So, man, I'm gonna start your paperwork,
39:07and we'll get that knocked out.
39:10Sit tight, man.
39:19Ivan.
39:20I mean, stand up for me.
39:21I think there's a lot of evidence,
39:23a lot of good video evidence.
39:26We don't need him to, you know, say,
39:28I shot.
39:28We know he shot.
39:29He's the only one else outside there with the victim.
39:32We still have a lot to follow up to do.
39:33We have to try to find his friend,
39:35you know, get her statement.
39:44Three days later...
39:46He was very, um...
39:49Just...
39:50I gotta go talk to my friend and pay some money.
39:53The team tracks down Ivan's friend.
39:55He gets out of the vehicle,
39:57and then...
39:58gets back in the vehicle
40:00within not even a full minute.
40:03He doesn't know he had done an actual murder.
40:09I mean, I don't think this guy
40:10went to go kill him.
40:11I think he went to go get some money,
40:12and somehow it turned bad really fast.
40:14Because she makes it sound like
40:15it was an in-and-out thing.
40:17Got out of the car and came right back in.
40:19Just went by.
40:21Basically got killed over.
40:23You guys bickering over money.
40:26Ivan said the best is,
40:27why did he go over there?
40:28Yeah, you're right.
40:29Nobody had to die.
40:30I mean, you know.
40:31And so it's...
40:32It's tragic.
40:48Eleven months later...
40:52Well, we are here for my brother,
40:55Ricardo Estrada,
40:56and I as a family.
40:59Ricardo was an awesome guy.
41:01He was my brother, brother-in-law.
41:04He was a uncle slash dad
41:06with two my kids.
41:08I loved his creativity.
41:09That's where, like,
41:11most of my inspiration came from.
41:12Like, I love art and to draw.
41:14I just miss how creative he was.
41:23Yeah, in this way,
41:36it was a shock.
41:38Not something we expected.
41:39Not something that you think
41:42will happen to you, you know?
41:43You have to remember
41:44what good of him.
41:46With that, I'm going to stay.
41:48With those beautiful memories of him.
41:52We love him,
41:53and we miss him.
41:53And he's definitely
41:54looking down on us.
41:56In memory
41:57of my brother,
41:59Ricardo Estrada.
42:02We love him.
42:08We love him.
42:10We love you.
42:11We love him.
