00:00This is not just the story of Adam, this is the real story from a time before his creation.
00:07A time when no human walked the earth.
00:11A time when something else ruled.
00:15Other beings lived on this earth, but they rebelled and fought against the angels,
00:20and the angels drove them to the far corners of the earth.
00:24Then, one day, Allah said, I will create a khalifa on the earth.
00:31And at that moment, everything changed.
00:35A body was made from earth, but that body was not ordinary.
00:39The angels bowed down, but one being refused.
00:44His name was Iblis.
00:47He said, I am better than him, because my origin...
00:53The first racist in history.
00:56Shaitan focused on his origin.
00:59He became the reason for human being sent to the earth.
01:02But he did not know that this was already the plan of Allah.

01:28If you are ready, let's begin.
01:34Think for a moment.
01:36A time when history had not yet begun to be written.
01:39When even the name of human did not exist.
01:42The earth was there.
01:44The sky was there.
01:45Mountains were there.
01:47Rivers were there.
01:48But there was not a single human anywhere.
01:52So, was this world empty?
01:55No.
01:56Not at all.
01:57The Quran tells us a striking detail through the words of the angels.
02:03When Allah informed the angels that he would create a human, they immediately said,
02:08Will you create someone there who will cause fasad and shed blood?
02:12Human had not even been created yet.
02:15But the angels spoke as if they had already seen that this being would shed blood.
02:21For them to say this, they must have known something from before.
02:24Islamic scholars explain this point like this.
02:28Before humans, other beings lived on earth.
02:31Those beings were the jinn.
02:33Jinn are beings created from fire.
02:36Allah gave them mind, will, and freedom of choice, just as he would give to humans.
02:41According to Islamic scholars and tafsir sources,
02:44Before Adam alayhi salam, jinn ruled the earth.
02:48This world was theirs.
02:50They crossed mountains, traveled seas, built nations.
02:54Settlements were formed, communities appeared, and struggles for power began.
02:59But over time, a sickness appeared among them.
03:02Ambition built on pride.
03:04The strong began to crush the weak.
03:06Looting started, wars began, and blood was spilled.
03:10The earth, once a peaceful place, turned into a bloody arena where jinn fought each other.
03:15Violence became a normal part of daily life.
03:18Despite this, among them there were special jinn who worshipped Allah and remained devoted.
03:23The greatest among them was Azazel, who lived in the highest levels of paradise.
03:29Iblis, or as he was known at that time, Azazel, was also a jinn.
03:34He was created from fire like the others.
03:37But he was different.
03:38He left his own kind behind.
03:41He did not shed blood.
03:42He did not rebel.
03:44Instead, he worshipped.
03:46Such worship that, it can be said, no angel reached his level.
03:50According to narrations from Islamic scholars,
03:53Azazel left not a single place on earth, in the sky, in the seas, or in the mountains, where he
03:59did not make sajda.
04:00In all these places, he made tasbih.
04:04He praised Allah, and he bowed in prostration.
04:08Because of this worship, his rank rose.
04:11So much that he was accepted among the angels.
04:14He began to live with them in paradise.
04:17He took a position like a teacher among the angels.
04:20For centuries, he taught them about the greatness of Allah, taught them worship, and showed them how to praise Allah.
04:29According to narrations, Azazel had a different title in each of the four levels of the heavens.
04:35On earth, he was called the Iblis of the angels.
04:38And to stop the rebellion and facade on earth, Allah sent his angels under the command of Azazel.
04:44Azazel fought against the jinn and drove them to distant places of the earth.
04:49The jinn withdrew to islands, empty deserts, and underground caves.
04:53The earth became calm again.
04:55The mountains became silent.
04:57The rivers flowed clean.
04:59Azazel was very happy with this.
05:01He had achieved a great success.
05:03And remember, he was still a jinn, not an angel.
05:07Angels do not disobey Allah.
05:09They are created for obedience without choice.
05:12But Azazel came from fire.
05:15He had will.
05:16He had a door of choice.
05:18And for now, that door remained closed.
05:21But it was never locked.
05:23Some narrations and tafsir scholars mention this detail.
05:27As Azazel rose with his worship and success, pride began to grow inside him.
05:32But it had not yet appeared openly.
05:35But Allah knew the truth, of course.
05:37And he would show Iblis his true face.
05:40After the jinn were removed from the earth, the world began to wait for a completely different being.
05:47Allah says in Surah Qaf, verse 38,
05:50We created the heavens and the earth, and what is between them in six days, and no tiredness touched us.
05:57And the Prophet ﷺ said, in a hadith reported by Abu Huraira radiallahu anhu,
06:05Allah created the soil on Saturday.
06:08He created the mountains on Sunday, the trees on Monday,
06:12disliked things on Tuesday, the light on Wednesday.
06:16He spread the animals on the earth on Thursday.
06:18And he created Adam as the last of creation, in the last hours of Friday, between Al-Asa and Al
06:26-Maghrib.
06:27Muslim Munafikin 27
06:30This hadith tells us something very clear.
06:34Everything was created before human.
06:37Allah was about to reveal a great secret to the angels, what had happened before on earth.
06:42The angels were waiting with curiosity.
06:46Azazel was among them.
06:48He was waiting too.
06:49But Azazel's expectation was different from the angels.
06:52The angels waited with pure curiosity.
06:55Whatever came, they would accept.
06:57But Azazel, with that hidden seed inside him, maybe without realizing, was making his own calculation.
07:04And then the news came.
07:06Allah said, I will create a Khalifa on the earth.
07:10Baqarah 30
07:13At that moment, the countdown began for one of the greatest turning points in history.
07:18The angels were surprised and concerned.
07:22Azazel remained silent.
07:23For now.
07:25As soon as the angels heard the decision of Allah, they felt a deep concern inside them.
07:31The previous experience was still in their memory.
07:34Now another being with free will would be created.
07:37Would the same thing not happen again?
07:40They asked with courage.
07:42Will you create someone there who will cause facade and shed blood while we make to speak with your praise
07:48and declare your holiness?
07:50This was not an objection.
07:52Angels do not object to Allah and they do not disobey.
07:56This was a sincere question, like pure hands reaching out to understand a wisdom they could not see.
08:03And the answer of Allah came, short but very deep.
08:07Indeed, I know what you do not know.
08:10This one sentence was like a lock that closes all the secrets of the universe.
08:15You do not know, but I know.
08:17It was enough.
08:19The angels became silent.
08:20They accepted and they began to wait.
08:24The decision was made.
08:26The new being would be created from earth.
08:29And for this, soil had to be taken from different parts of the earth.
08:33Allah first sent Jibreel for this task.
08:38Jibreel came down to the earth.
08:41He reached out his hand to take soil.
08:43At that moment, something unexpected happened.
08:46The earth spoke.
08:47That earth, which we think is lifeless, spoke by the power of Allah and said,
08:53I ask you, in the name of Allah, do not take a part from me.
08:56Because Allah will create a creation from me.
08:59And among them, there will be those who will disobey Allah.
09:03And because of this, Allah will punish me with the fire of hell.
09:07A part of me will burn in the fire.
09:10When Jibreel heard this, he stepped back.
09:14He respected the earth's request for protection and returned empty-handed.
09:18He said,
09:20My Lord, the earth sought refuge in you and I gave it refuge.
09:25Then Allah sent Mikail .
09:28Mikail came down.
09:30The same thing happened.
09:32The earth again asked for protection, again called upon Allah and begged.
09:37Mikail also gave it refuge and returned.
09:41Then Israfil was sent.
09:44He received the same response.
09:46He also respected the request and returned.
09:49Three great angels returned three times.
09:52Each time, the earth trembled and sought refuge in Allah.
09:57It knew what it meant for a part of it to be taken.
10:00It felt that from that soil, humans would come.
10:03And some of them would go to hell.
10:05And that soil would burn in the fire.
10:07The fourth one sent was Azrael .
10:12Azrael came down to the earth.
10:15The earth again said the same words,
10:17I ask you, in the name of Allah, do not take anything from me.
10:22The answer of Azrael came with a strong determination that would be remembered.
10:29I also seek refuge in Allah from returning without carrying out his command.
10:34And he took from the earth, but not from one place only.
10:37He took from all around the world, from different colors, different types.
10:43Red soil, white soil, black soil, yellow soil, hard soil, soft soil, salty and sweet soils.
10:51He gathered them all together and presented them to Allah.
10:55The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam explained this truth.
11:00Allah created Adam from a handful of soil taken from all parts of the earth.
11:05That is why the children of Adam came with different colors and natures.
11:10Some are red, some white, some black and some in between.
11:14Some are soft, some are hard, some are good and some are not.
11:18Reported in Abu Dawud and Tirmidhi.
11:21This hadith gives a deep message.
11:23The differences in color, nature and character among people are not a weakness.
11:29They are richness.
11:31We all came from the same earth, but from different parts of it.
11:34No one is better than another because we all came from the same handful.
11:38The soil had been brought.
11:40Now it was time to shape it.
11:43According to narrations, Allah mixed that soil for 40 days with his power.
11:48These were not days like we know.
11:50Only Allah knows their true nature.
11:52Then that clay was left in paradise for 40 years.
11:56Rain fell on it.
11:57But these were not ordinary rains.
11:59According to narrations, for 39 years, rain of sadness fell.
12:04And for one year, rain of joy fell.
12:08That is why in human life, sadness is more than joy.
12:11If the world makes you smile one day, it may make you cry for many days after.
12:17This is not a coincidence.
12:18It is something placed into our creation.
12:21Something that fell onto our soil.
12:25At the end of those 40 years, the soil passed through different stages.
12:29The Quran mentions these stages.
12:32First, dust, turab, then mud, then sticky clay, then shaped dry clay.
12:39Each stage represents a part of the human being.
12:43The humility of earth, the purity of water, the form moving toward a purpose.
12:48And finally, that great body was completed.
12:51Now there was a huge body in front of them, about 70 cubits tall.
12:57According to narrations, this is around 30 meters in today's measure.
13:02Its head almost reached the clouds.
13:04Its eyes were closed.
13:06Its face was still.
13:07Its hands were at its sides.
13:09It looked like a human, but empty inside.
13:12Like a statue, like a mold.
13:14The soul had not yet come.
13:17The angels came to that body.
13:19They walked around it and examined it.
13:21Who was this?
13:22Why was it created?
13:24For what purpose had Allah brought it into existence?
13:27And among them, there was one who was not asking these questions.
13:31He was doing something else.
13:34Azazel walked around that lifeless body.
13:36He studied it carefully.
13:37He bent over that huge form that had no soul yet.
13:41Not alive yet.
13:43He looked, measured, and evaluated.
13:46Then, as the narrations tell us, he did something unusual.
13:51He entered through the openings of that body, moved through all of it, and then came out.
13:56And he said to himself,
13:58I will deceive this one through these openings.
14:02This was one of the coldest and most calculated sentences in history.
14:07That body was not even alive yet.
14:10It had not taken a single breath.
14:12But Azazel had already made his plan.
14:15He had entered inside, discovered the weak points, and drawn his path.
14:21Greed.
14:22Desire.
14:23Anger.
14:24Pride.
14:24He had already arranged in his mind which of these inner weaknesses he would use and when.
14:31The angels, however, were busy with something else.
14:35A discussion happened among them.
14:37Shaitan turned to them and asked,
14:40If Allah gives life to this being, and breathes a soul into it, and then makes it superior over you,
14:46what will you do?
14:47The angels answered with surprise.
14:50What kind of question is this?
14:52Of course we will obey our Lord.
14:55Azazel heard this answer.
14:57And the seed inside him warmed for the first time.
15:01That huge body stood there in paradise, waiting.
15:05The universe had been prepared for it.
15:07The mountains were in place.
15:09The rivers were flowing.
15:11The fruits were hanging on the branches.
15:13Everything was ready.
15:15Only the soul was missing.
15:17And that soul would come at the right time.
15:20But even before the soul came, the nature of human had already begun to show itself.
15:26Narrations say, when the soul would be breathed in, it would spread slowly through the body.
15:33First to the head, then to the eyes, then to the neck.
15:35And before it reached the feet, as soon as the eyes opened and saw paradise,
15:40Adam would want to stand up immediately.
15:44The fruits were visible.
15:46The beauty of paradise was in front of him.
15:49Hurry, now, immediately.
15:51Before the soul even reached his feet, he would try to move forward.
15:56The Quran explains this clearly.
15:58Human was created impatient.
16:01Anbiya, 37
16:03The impatience of human goes back to the very first moment of creation.
16:08Before the soul fully settled in the body, that being wanted to move.
16:13This is where our impatience comes from.
16:16This is where our rush, our desire for more without being thankful for what we already have, began.
16:23The body was ready.
16:25The earth had been shaped.
16:27The sadness of 40 years had settled into it.
16:30Azazel had made his plan.
16:32The angels were waiting with curiosity.
16:35The universe held its breath.
16:37And Allah breathed his rock into that great body.
16:41That moment was the beginning of human history.
16:44The soul moved toward that great body.
16:47It entered through the nose.
16:48And it began to spread.
16:50First, it reached the head.
16:52The eyes opened.
16:54And those eyes saw paradise for the first time.
16:57Endless gardens, colorful fruits, clear rivers, a light beyond description.
17:03The rest of the body still had no soul.
17:06Not even a single breath had been taken.
17:09But the eyes were open.
17:11And paradise was visible.
17:14Then the soul moved down to the throat.
17:16And Adam a.s. sneezed.
17:20The first words that came out of his mouth were,
17:24Alhamdulillahi Rabbil Alameen.
17:26All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all worlds.
17:30At the very first moment of his creation, his first words were gratitude.
17:35He had not lived anything yet.
17:37He had not tasted any blessing yet.
17:40But as soon as his eyes saw paradise, the first sound that came from him was praise to Allah.
17:46And Allah responded,
17:48Yerhamu Kalla.
17:49May Allah have mercy on you.
17:52The angels there also said,
17:54Yahdikum Allah wa Yahdina.
17:56May Allah guide you and guide us.
17:59Then Allah asked,
18:00Who am I?
18:01Adam a.s. answered,
18:03You are Allah.
18:04There is no God except you.
18:07Allah said,
18:08You have spoken the truth.
18:10This was the first conversation between human and his Lord.
18:14The first question.
18:16The first answer.
18:17The first confirmation.
18:19And the answer given by Adam a.s. was the essence of the universe.
18:24Tawheed.
18:25There is no God except Allah.
18:28And he was the first to say it with his own words.
18:32The soul continued to spread slowly through the body.
18:35Wherever it reached, life began to prepare in that part.
18:40Blood flow.
18:41Warmth.
18:42Movement.
18:43The soul reached his knees.
18:45And at that moment, Adam a.s. wanted to stand up.
18:50Because his eyes had seen paradise.
18:52The fruits were there.
18:54The beauty was there.
18:55The soul had not yet reached his feet.
18:58But he already wanted to move forward.
19:00Then the soul was completed.
19:02The body came to life.
19:05Adam a.s. stood up.
19:07About 30 meters tall.
19:09His head close to the clouds.
19:11Strong.
19:12Majestic.
19:13Alive.
19:14The first human had come into existence.
19:17Now the time for a great test had come.
19:19Allah would show the angels.
19:22The wisdom behind creating Adam a.s.
19:25When he said,
19:26I will create a Khalifa on earth.
19:29They had felt concern.
19:30Now it was time for them to see and understand.
19:34Allah taught Adam a.s. all the names.
19:37The Quran says,
19:39And Allah taught Adam all the names.
19:42Bakara 31.
19:44But this teaching was not like making someone memorize words.
19:48Adam a.s. was given not only the names,
19:51but also the reality of everything.
19:54What each thing is.
19:55What it is for.
19:56Its place in the universe.
19:58And deep knowledge about it.
20:00The names and secrets of everything between the earth and the sky were placed into his soul.
20:06Then Allah turned to the angels and said,
20:09If you are truthful, tell me the names of these.
20:14The angels became silent.
20:16These great beings, full of knowledge and worship, could not answer this question.
20:21Because this knowledge had not been given to them.
20:24With humility and honesty they said,
20:27Glory be to you.
20:28We have no knowledge except what you have taught us.
20:31Indeed, you are the all-knowing, the most wise.
20:34Bakara 32.
20:36Then Allah said,
20:38O Adam, tell them their names.
20:40And Adam a.s. spoke.
20:43Not only the names, but what each thing is.
20:46Why it was created, its qualities, its place in the universe.
20:50Even the names and abilities of those who would come from his descendants.
20:53He explained all of it.
20:55And the angels looked at each other with amazement.
20:58A knowledge that had not been given to them had been given to this being created from earth.
21:05There is a deeper meaning behind Allah teaching Adam a.s. the names.
21:11Angels do not feel hunger.
21:13Because of this, they cannot fully understand the name of Allah .
21:18They may know it as information, but they cannot feel or experience it.
21:23Angels do not get sick, so they can only understand Ash Shafi in a limited way.
21:29Their souls do not feel tightness or expansion.
21:33So they cannot fully grasp Al-Basit, the one who expands hearts and brings relief after hardship.
21:40Angels do not commit sins and do not repent.
21:43So they cannot truly understand Al-Tawwab, the one who accepts repentance.
21:49Or Al-Gafar, the one who forgives again and again.
21:53A being that never carries the weight of sin, that never feels regret, cannot truly feel the depth of forgiveness
22:01that comes after it.
22:02So even though angels know many of the names and attributes of Allah, their understanding is limited.
22:09But human is created in a very special way.
22:14Human is created not only to know the names and attributes of Allah, but to experience them.
22:20This is the deeper wisdom of human creation.
22:24Allah wants his names and attributes to be known through human and experienced by human.
22:29Now, how is this mentioned in the Bible?
22:33Does it match Islam?
22:34According to the Bible, it was Adam himself who gave names to animals and objects.
22:40The names were not taught by Allah.
22:42Adam chose them by his own thinking.
22:45In Genesis, it says that Allah brought all animals and birds to Adam.
22:50And whatever Adam called them, that became their name.
22:54Islam does not accept this.
22:56Because a being who has just opened his eyes to life, who has just seen the world for the first
23:01time,
23:02cannot know the names and realities of everything by himself.
23:07According to Islam, the one who taught all the names is only Allah.
23:12And this is how the superiority of human over the angels was shown by Allah himself.
23:19This difference may seem small, but it is very important.
23:23In one view, human defines everything with his own mind.
23:27In the other, it is clear that the true owner of knowledge is Allah.
23:31And this knowledge is given to human as a gift.
23:34Someone may say, human learns by himself.
23:38But even that learning happens by the will of Allah.
23:41It is Allah who allows it.
23:43Who places those thoughts and inspirations into the mind.
23:47Now the proof was clear.
23:49The angels had seen it.
23:51This being was given a knowledge that they did not have.
23:54Then Allah said, make Sajdat to Adam.
23:57And it happened.
23:58Countless angels, those great beings in every part of paradise, all bowed down together.
24:04This was not worship.
24:05Worship is only for Allah.
24:07This was obedience to Allah's command.
24:10Showing the value, honor, and rank given to Adam .
24:15According to narrations, the angels remained in this Sajdah for a long time.
24:20Allah commanded them to show respect to his creation.
24:24The Sajdah here was to acknowledge the greatness of Allah's creation.
24:28But there was one who did not bow.
24:31Azazel.
24:32The one who had taught angels for centuries.
24:34Who stood in the front ranks, shining with light.
24:38He did not make Sajdah.
24:39He stood firm.
24:41The angels lifted their heads in surprise.
24:44Their teacher had not bowed.
24:45What did they do?
24:47Narrations say, they said,
24:48Our Lord, you allowed us to make Sajdah, but he did not.
24:53Let us make another Sajdah to thank you.
24:56And they bowed again.
24:58Some scholars mention this as a wisdom behind making two Sajdah in prayer.
25:03Then Allah asked Iblis,
25:05O Iblis, what prevented you from making Sajdah when I commanded you?
25:10This was one of the heaviest questions in history.
25:13And Iblis answered.
25:14His answer was the first expression of arrogance and racism.
25:18I am better than him.
25:20You created me from fire.
25:22And you created him from clay.
25:25Araf 12.
25:27Look at the logic.
25:29Fire is better than clay.
25:31I am from fire.
25:32He is from clay.
25:33So I am better.
25:35Iblis may have been the first philosopher in history.
25:37He used his own reasoning.
25:39But his reasoning missed the most important truth.
25:43Allah had commanded it.
25:44When Allah commands, the wisdom is not questioned.
25:49Obedience is required.
25:50Allah has infinite wisdom.
25:53Even if you do not understand at that moment,
25:55you must accept that his knowledge is greater than yours.
25:59But Iblis did something else.
26:01He placed his own mind above the command of Allah.
26:04He claimed superiority over the command of Allah.
26:08So the sin of Iblis was not just jealousy or pride against human, as many people think.
26:15It was much deeper.
26:17He was saying,
26:18Even if you clearly command me, I will not accept it, because I believe my way is correct.
26:24This is the most dangerous form of arrogance.
26:29To see your own thinking above the command of Allah.
26:32And this trap has appeared again and again throughout history.
26:37Even today, some people reject what Allah and His Messenger have clearly said, just because they think differently.
26:44May Allah forgive all of us.
26:47In Islam, this is the true first sin.
26:51In Christianity, the first sin is connected to Adam eating the forbidden fruit.
26:56But in Islam, it goes further back.
26:59It begins with Iblis refusing to make sajda and placing his own reasoning above the command of Allah.
27:07And this difference is very important.
27:10Because Islam teaches that sin is personal.
27:13No one carries the sin of another.
27:15Also, according to Islam, prophets do not commit sins.
27:20They may forget.
27:21But something done by forgetfulness is not counted as sin.
27:26We will soon come to the topic of the misunderstood forbidden tree.
27:30But for now, let us return to the story.
27:34Allah showed Iblis his rebellion and brought out what was hidden inside him.
27:38And then he gave his judgment.
27:40So get down from it.
27:42You have no right to be arrogant there.
27:44Get out.
27:45You are among the lowest.
27:47Araf 13
27:49At that moment, all the beauty of Iblis was taken away.
27:53The shining appearance he had for centuries.
27:56His high rank.
27:57His respect.
27:58All of it disappeared instantly.
28:01His face became ugly.
28:02His form changed.
28:04The weight of Allah's curse fell upon him.
28:06He was expelled from paradise.
28:08From among the angels.
28:10And from the presence of Allah.
28:13But as he was leaving, he made a request.
28:16Give me time until the day they are resurrected.
28:20Araf 14
28:22Allah gave him time.
28:24Because this was also part of the test.
28:26Human was created with free choice.
28:29And for that choice to be real, there had to be an enemy.
28:32Iblis was that enemy.
28:35And with this time, Iblis made a promise.
28:38With a trembling voice, full of revenge and hatred, he said,
28:42Because you have led me astray, I will sit for them on your straight path.
28:47Then I will come to them from in front of them, from behind them, from their right, and from their
28:52left.
28:53And you will find most of them ungrateful.
28:57Araf 16 to 17
28:59Notice this.
29:00Iblis mentioned four directions, but not above.
29:04Why?
29:05Because above is the direction that leads to Allah.
29:08When a person raises their hands and calls upon Allah, the power of Iblis is broken.
29:15He cannot come from there.
29:16If he tries, the person sees and escapes.
29:20Also, you may notice something important here.
29:23Iblis blamed Allah.
29:25This is one of the most dangerous sins.
29:28To blame Allah for what you have done.
29:31If he had not been tested, his hidden corruption would never have been revealed.
29:35He would have continued living in paradise with a false image of worship.
29:40But instead of looking at himself and repenting, he blamed Allah and chose revenge.
29:46And Allah allowed this as part of the test for humans.
29:49Because for a person to rise, there must be something that pulls them down.
29:53Without struggle, a person becomes careless.
29:57Difficulties, problems, and pain are things that push a person to turn to Allah more.
30:02To discover his names more, and to grow.
30:06Perhaps this is what Iblis failed to understand.
30:10Through him, many people would rise.
30:13But he focused only on dragging others down.
30:16May Allah protect us from following shaitan.
30:19There are many more wisdoms behind his creation.
30:23Allah knows best.
30:25That great scene had come to an end.
30:28Iblis was expelled.
30:30The angels made Sajdat again, this time in gratitude.
30:34And Adam stood at the center of all of this as the main figure of this great moment.
30:41He was in paradise.
30:42But he was alone.
30:44This being, who had been given the greatest knowledge into whom Allah had breathed his ruh,
30:51before whom billions of angels had made Sajdah, was walking alone in the wide gardens of paradise.
30:57Every beauty was in front of him.
31:00Every blessing was near him.
31:02But inside him, there was something missing.
31:05And the one who would fill that emptiness had not yet been created.
31:11He looked around.
31:13Every creation was made in pairs.
31:16Birds were flying in pairs.
31:19Animals were walking side by side.
31:22Trees were touching each other through their roots in the ground.
31:25All the gardens of paradise, all the rivers, all the colors were in front of him.
31:30But there was no one to share this beauty with.
31:33No one to feel this peace together.
31:36Loneliness was felt, even in paradise.
31:39Because loneliness is not the lack of a place.
31:42It is the lack of a soul.
31:44And that emptiness can reach a human even in paradise.
31:48Allah, of course, knew this.
31:49But first, he wanted that feeling to be experienced.
31:53As some sources explain, a person understands the value of something only after feeling its absence.
32:01Even in paradise, loneliness is a strong feeling.
32:04And that feeling was experienced.
32:07One day, Adam a.s. fell into a deep sleep.
32:11This was not an ordinary sleep.
32:13It was a sleep that would witness one of the greatest miracles of creation.
32:18A moment where the power of Allah would appear in a new way.
32:23While he was asleep, Allah took from his left side, according to narrations, from his rib.
32:30And he replaced it with flesh.
32:32Then that peace, by the power of Allah, began to turn step by step into another being.
32:38Hawa was created.
32:40When she opened her eyes, she found herself in the middle of paradise.
32:45Green trees, clear water, endless light.
32:48Everything was new.
32:49Everything was the first time.
32:51And next to her, Adam a.s. was sleeping.
32:54According to Tafsir sources, their first meeting happened like this.
32:58Adam a.s. woke up.
33:00He saw someone near him.
33:02He stopped and looked.
33:03In his heart, there was a feeling he had never known before.
33:06But it did not feel strange.
33:08It felt close.
33:10As if that being was a part of him.
33:12Because she truly was.
33:14He asked.
33:16Who are you?
33:17She answered.
33:18I am a woman.
33:20What were you created from?
33:22From you.
33:23Why were you created?
33:25So that you may find peace with me.
33:27The Quran describes this truth.
33:30He created you from a single soul.
33:33And from it, he created its partner so that he may find peace with her.
33:38Araf 189.
33:40According to some interpretations of the Torah, there is a deeper meaning behind this choice.
33:46Allah did not create Hawa from Adam's head, so she would not be arrogant.
33:51He did not create her from his eyes, so she would not desire what belongs to others.
33:56He did not create her from his mouth, so she would not speak unnecessarily.
34:01He did not create her from his heart, so jealousy would not settle there.
34:07And he did not create her from his hands or feet.
34:11He created her from the most protected and hidden place of the body, the rib.
34:16The ribs stay inside.
34:18They are not seen.
34:19They protect the heart.
34:21They are hidden.
34:22This reflects the nature of Hawa, humble, close to her partner, protective.
34:28These narrations also match her life.
34:32In what would happen later, she did not blame Adam .
34:36They made a mistake together, and they repented together.
34:41In Islamic sources, she is described as someone who loves her partner.
34:45supports him, and stands by him in every situation.
34:49They were like two halves of one whole.
34:53Allah then commanded them to live in paradise, and said,
34:57O Adam, you and your wife live in paradise.
35:00Eat freely from wherever you wish.
35:03But do not approach this tree, or you will both be among the wrongdoers.
35:08Bakara 35
35:10Notice this carefully.
35:12He did not say, do not eat.
35:14He said, do not approach.
35:17This shows how serious the command was.
35:20Even coming close to the tree was dangerous.
35:23One step, one moment of curiosity, one what if, could be enough to cross the limit.
35:29The exact nature of that tree is not clearly mentioned in the Quran.
35:33Some scholars say it was wheat, because wheat is a basic food for humans, and carries symbolic meaning.
35:40But since there is no clear text, it is not correct to say for sure.
35:44What matters is not the tree itself, but the boundary set by Allah.
35:50Allah also gave them another clear warning.
35:53O Adam, indeed this shaitan is an enemy to you and your wife.
35:57Do not let him remove you from paradise, or you will suffer.
36:01Taha 117
36:04The warning was clear.
36:06The enemy was introduced.
36:07The trap was shown.
36:09The boundary was set.
36:10So what did shaitan do?
36:12Iblis had been expelled from paradise, but he had not forgotten his promise of revenge.
36:18He was planning how to remove Adam and Hawa from paradise.
36:23But there was a problem.
36:25He could not enter paradise.
36:27The guards knew him and did not allow him inside.
36:30He went to the animals.
36:32He asked each one the same thing.
36:34Carry me in your mouth and take me inside.
36:38One by one, they all refused.
36:41He tried again and again, but none accepted.
36:44Finally, the snake agreed.
36:47At that time, the snake was very different.
36:49According to narrations, it had legs and looked like a beautiful creature.
36:54Iblis entered into its mouth.
36:56The snake entered paradise.
36:58The guards recognized it and allowed it in.
37:00Then Iblis came out from its mouth.
37:02At that moment, inside paradise near the forbidden tree, the whispers began.
37:08Iblis first approached Hawa.
37:11His voice was soft.
37:12His appearance looked friendly.
37:14He whispered,
37:15Do you know why your lord forbade you from this tree?
37:19Because whoever eats from it becomes an angel or lives forever.
37:24Allah forbade it, so you would not become like that.
37:28Then he went further and used the most dangerous weapon.
37:31He swore by Allah.
37:33I am one who gives sincere advice to you.
37:37By Allah.
37:38What I say is true.
37:40When Hawa heard this, a curiosity appeared in her heart.
37:45A pure heart cannot imagine that someone would lie using the name of Allah.
37:51Who would lie while swearing by Allah?
37:53This was not a sin in itself, but a door opened for the test.
37:58The Quran shows a very important difference here.
38:02Allah said,
38:03Do not approach or you will be among the wrongdoers.
38:07Shaitan, however, spoke differently.
38:10In the biblical version, it is said that Allah told them,
38:13You will die on the day you eat from it.
38:16And Shaitan said,
38:18No, you will not die.
38:20But in reality, Adam and Hawa did not die that day.
38:25So in that version, a wrong statement is attributed.
38:29In the Quran, Allah speaks the truth and Shaitan lies.
38:34And in the end, they ate from the tree and became among the wrongdoers.
38:38Just as Allah had said, Hawa walked toward the tree.
38:42She reached out her hand.
38:44She took the fruit.
38:46She took a bite.
38:47Then she brought it to Adam .
38:51Look, she said.
38:52Its smell is so nice.
38:54Its color is beautiful.
38:56Its taste is sweet.
38:58Adam also ate.
39:01At that moment, everything changed.
39:04According to the Quran, suddenly their covering was removed.
39:08A feeling they had never experienced before came over them.
39:12Shame.
39:13They felt exposed and quickly reached for the leaves of paradise to cover themselves.
39:18Their hands were shaking.
39:19Then a voice was heard.
39:21The voice of Allah.
39:24Did I not forbid you from that tree?
39:26And did I not tell you that Shaitan is a clear enemy to you?
39:31Araf 22
39:34In the Bible, this moment is described differently.
39:37It says that Adam and Hawa hid from Allah among the trees.
39:41And Allah called out,
39:43Where are you?
39:44As if they were hiding from him.
39:47But the Quran presents a very different and deeper scene.
39:51In the Quran, Adam and Hawa did not run away from Allah.
39:56Instead, they turned to him immediately.
39:58They did not make excuses.
40:01They did not blame each other.
40:02With regret, they said,
40:05Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves.
40:07If you do not forgive us and have mercy on us,
40:10we will surely be among the losers.
40:13Araf 23
40:15This supplication became the summary of repentance in Islam.
40:18Three things are present.
40:20Admitting the mistake.
40:22Feeling regret.
40:23And seeking forgiveness from Allah.
40:25No excuses.
40:26No blame.
40:27No escape.
40:28Only honest submission.
40:30And this shows a key difference between Islam and Christianity.
40:34In Christianity, the sin of Adam is passed down to every human.
40:38Every baby is born with sin.
40:41But Islam completely rejects this.
40:43Allah says,
40:44No soul carries the burden of another.
40:47Zumar 7
40:48Every human is born pure, innocent, without sin.
40:53In Islam, the idea of original sin does not exist in this way.
40:59Sin is personal.
41:01And the result of sin is also personal.
41:05Allah said,
41:06Go down from here as enemies to one another.
41:09On earth you will have a place to live and benefit for a time.
41:13There you will live.
41:14There you will die.
41:15And from there you will be brought out on the day of resurrection.
41:20Araf 25
41:22But there is a very important truth here.
41:25Islamic scholars and the first verses of the Quran remind us of something.
41:30Adam was already created to be sent to the earth from the beginning.
41:35In Baqarah 30
41:38Allah said before creating human,
41:40I will create a khalifa on earth.
41:44So, the forbidden fruit was not the reason for this journey.
41:48It was only a means.
41:50Human was not created to stay in paradise forever at the beginning,
41:54but to live on earth as a khalifa.
41:56Paradise was the final destination, not the first.
42:00For this reason, Islam does not see human coming to earth as a punishment.
42:05It sees it as a great and honorable mission.
42:09To know Allah, to live by his commands, and to become the best human within the test.
42:15Some people may wonder, why were Adam and Hawa sent down as enemies?
42:21This is a misunderstanding.
42:22Along with Adam and Hawa, Shaitan was also part of this event.
42:27All of them were involved in being sent down.
42:31Islamic scholars explain that the real enmity is between human and Shaitan, not between Adam and Hawa.
42:39Some scholars also added that there would be enmity among humans themselves.
42:45This is part of the test.
42:47People will be allowed to do good and evil, and through this, conflicts will appear.
42:52Allah knows best.
42:54In the end, two souls were leaving paradise.
42:57And in front of them was a long, difficult, but meaningful journey.
43:02At that moment, the gate of paradise closed for them, and a completely new world stood before them.
43:10Adam was sent to India, and according to some narrations, to the island of Serendib, today's Sri Lanka.
43:19Hawa was sent to Jeddah on the western coast of today's Saudi Arabia.
43:22Some scholars say the name Jeddah comes from the word grandmother, referring to Hawa.
43:28Two souls on two different ends of one planet.
43:33Think about that moment from Hawa's side, just before she was in the gardens of paradise.
43:38Bright trees, clear rivers, endless peace, and Adam was right beside her.
43:44Now none of that was there.
43:46Only a burning sun, unknown land, and a heavy silence.
43:51For the first time, she felt cold.
43:54In paradise, there was no cold or heat.
43:57But here, the wind touched her.
43:59For the first time, she felt hunger.
44:02In paradise, food was always near.
44:04But here, she did not know what to eat or where to find it.
44:08For the first time, she had to find shelter from rain.
44:12In paradise, there was no such need.
44:14But none of these were the hardest part.
44:17The hardest part was the absence of Adam .
44:22Islamic narrations tell that Hawa prayed deeply in this time.
44:26She asked Allah again and again.
44:29She repeated her repentance and longed to meet her partner again.
44:33Every morning, she looked at the sun and thought that the same sun was touching Adam .
44:39Every night she looked at the moon, there was a connection between them, invisible but unbreakable, like a thin line
44:48between two hearts.
44:49There was no blame between them.
44:51If they had blamed each other, that connection would have broken.
44:55But both of them turned to Allah .
44:58They accepted their mistake, asked for forgiveness, and waited with patience.
45:04Adam felt the same longing.
45:08He opened his eyes in a land full of mountains and forests.
45:11Everything was new.
45:13He did not know what was under the ground, whether a fruit was safe or harmful, how to protect himself
45:18from cold.
45:19But Allah did not leave him alone.
45:22Allah guided him.
45:23He showed him how to live, how to find shelter, how to work the land.
45:28And Adam searched for Hawa .
45:31Behind every hill, he hoped to see her.
45:35On every horizon, he searched for her familiar shape.
45:38Narrations say that this separation lasted for years.
45:43He traveled long distances, crossed mountains and valleys.
45:46Then Allah gave him good news.
45:49Go to Mecca.
45:51There is a house there.
45:53Make tawaf around it, just as the angels make tawaf around my throne.
45:57As Adam began this journey, Allah gave him a gift from paradise, a stone.
46:04That stone is today in the corner of the Kaaba.
46:08Millions of people wait in line to touch it, to kiss it.
46:11It is Hajar al-Aswad.
46:14The Prophet ﷺ said,
46:17The black stone was sent down from paradise.
46:19It was whiter than milk.
46:21But the sins of the children of Adam made it black.
46:26Tirmidhi.
46:27Think about this.
46:29When it first came down, it was pure white, like milk.
46:33Over time, countless hands touched it, countless people kissed it and its color changed.
46:38We see the weight of human sins in its color.
46:42But it is still there.
46:43Still a piece from paradise.
46:46Still a sign from Allah.
46:49Edom reached Mecca.
46:51Allah made his steps long, so he arrived in those sacred lands in a short time.
46:57According to some narrations, he was guided to the place where the Kaaba is.
47:01There, he placed stones and laid a foundation.
47:05But this information is not certain.
47:07It comes from early narrations.
47:10According to these reports, Adam made tawaf around that sacred place.
47:16He walked around it again and again, turning to his Lord.
47:20It is said that he was the first to make tawaf and also the first pilgrim.
47:25Just as angels move around the throne, it is described that he moved around this sacred center on earth.
47:33Some narrations also say that he later went to Jerusalem and built a place of worship there.
47:40It is said that this place would later be rebuilt by Suleyman as Masjid al-Aqsa.
47:45But this is also not certain.
47:47It is based on narrations.
47:49According to these narrations, when the flood of Nuh came, this first structure of the Kaaba was covered by water
47:56and sand.
47:57Over time, its trace disappeared and only the foundation remained.
48:02Later, by the command of Allah, Ibrahim and his son Ismail found those foundations and rebuilt the Kaaba.
48:09The Quran clearly says, and Ibrahim and Ismail were raising the foundations of the house.
48:16Bakara 127
48:19So what we know for sure is this.
48:21The first place of worship for humanity is the Kaaba.
48:25Its clear and confirmed construction belongs to Ibrahim and Ismail.
48:30The reports about Adam are earlier narrations connected to this truth.
48:35Years passed.
48:38How many years, we do not know exactly.
48:41But a long time passed.
48:43And finally, that moment came.
48:46Islamic narrations say that Adam and Hawa met at Mount Arafat.
48:51The name Arafat itself comes from to know or to recognize.
48:56It refers to meeting and finding one another.
48:59That place would later become a sacred place where millions of Muslims stand, cry and pray during Hajj.
49:07On that day, two humans found each other.
49:10When Hawa saw him from a distance, she began to walk faster.
49:15When Adam saw her, he stopped.
49:17He could not believe his eyes, that familiar face, that familiar peace, years of longing, days of prayer, nights of
49:26tears, that long journey.
49:28All of it found meaning in that moment.
49:31Their meeting was full of tears, but this time not tears of pain, tears of gratitude.
49:37And in that silent land of the world, the mother and father of humanity came together.
49:43No longer two separate souls, but one life began.
49:48The world was waiting for them.
49:51And the plan of Allah was moving into a new stage.
49:55The Prophet ﷺ said,
49:58Friday is the best day on which the sun rises.
50:01On that day, Adam was created.
50:04On that day, he entered paradise.
50:07And on that day, he was taken out of it.
50:09And the hour will be on that day.
50:12Sahih Muslim.
50:13Leaving paradise and the day of judgment may seem negative at first, but in reality they lead to good.
50:20One is a test to gain the love of Allah.
50:23The other is the entry into the afterlife, into paradise again, and to see Allah.
50:29These are clearly good outcomes.
50:32Every Friday, when the sun rises, it reminds us of the first day of humanity.
50:38They had met at Arafat.
50:40When the tears stopped and their hands held each other again, the world became silent for a moment.
50:47Then real life began.
50:49Paradise was now behind them.
50:52Those endless gardens, the fruits within reach, the life without tiredness or hunger.
50:57All of that was left behind.
51:00Now there was hard earth, a strong sun, and a life that had to be built every day.
51:06But Allah did not leave them alone.
51:09Adam was the first prophet on earth.
51:12Prophethood was not only to give messages.
51:15It was to teach life.
51:16Allah inspired him.
51:19How to dig the earth.
51:20How to plant seeds.
51:21How to harvest.
51:22How to take care of animals.
51:24How to build shelter.
51:26How to protect from cold.
51:28According to narrations, Allah also taught him how to work with iron.
51:32He made tools.
51:33He farmed.
51:35He made bread.
51:36And he taught all of this to Hawa and to their children.
51:39He was the first teacher, the first farmer, the first craftsman of humanity.
51:45One of the most important truths in the story of Adam is this.
51:50There was no one before him to comfort him.
51:52No prophet could say, Adam also went through this.
51:56Be patient.
51:57But all later, prophets found comfort in his story.
52:01He was the first to face every difficulty, but Allah is merciful.
52:06With every hardship, he gave ease.
52:10After some time, after their meeting at Arafat, Hawa became pregnant.
52:15For both of them, this was completely unknown.
52:19But they felt joy and excitement.
52:22No one had experienced this before.
52:24Something was changing in the body, but they did not fully understand it.
52:29Again, Allah guided them.
52:31And then, the first baby was born.
52:34In Islamic history, the names differ slightly in different sources.
52:38It is commonly said that the first children were Qabil and his twin,
52:42then Habil and his twin.
52:45Over time, Adam began to notice the tension between his children.
52:50He could see the darkness in Qabil's eyes.
52:53He advised him, warned him, spoke to him.
52:57But Qabil did not listen.
52:59This is a heavy truth in human history.
53:02A prophet explains Allah to his own son, yet the son does not accept.
53:07In every generation, there is a Habil and a Qabil.
53:11Even in the same home, one walks the right path,
53:14while the other moves toward darkness.
53:17Humanity was growing.
53:19The earth was starting to fill.
53:21Adam looked at his children with both the joy of a father and the concern of a prophet.
53:27Because shaitan had made a promise, and that promise would not be empty.
53:32He had found a door in Qabil's heart.
53:35Qabil was working, producing, but no longer for Allah.
53:40He was living for himself.
53:41He trusted his own effort and connected everything to his own power.
53:46His heart had become empty.
53:48And an empty heart is easy for shaitan to enter.
53:51Qabil was different.
53:54He had little, but his heart was full.
53:57He saw what he had as a trust from Allah.
54:00What mattered was not how much, but the intention.
54:04Time passed, and the age of marriage came.
54:07The command of Allah was clear.
54:10Twins could not marry each other.
54:12Qabil was to marry the twin of Habil.
54:15But Qabil did not want this.
54:17He wanted the more beautiful one.
54:19He chose his desire instead of Allah's command.
54:24A thought came into his mind.
54:26I know better.
54:28This was the same thought as Iblis.
54:31Adam warned him many times, but Qabil did not listen.
54:35His anger grew.
54:37Shaitan was watching him.
54:39Finally, a decision was made.
54:41Both of them would give an offering.
54:44The one whose offering was accepted would be right.
54:47Qabil chose the best of what he had.
54:50Qabil chose something of little value.
54:52A fire came down.
54:54Qabil's offering was accepted.
54:56Qabil's was rejected.
54:58Qabil turned to Allah with gratitude.
55:01Qabil was filled with anger.
55:03He did not accept that he was wrong.
55:05He blamed his brother.
55:07Qabil said to him,
55:08Allah only accepts from those who have taqwa.
55:12But Qabil did not want to see this truth.
55:15Shaitan entered again.
55:17He kept whispering the same thing.
55:19This is unfair.
55:21Qabil accepted this thought.
55:23And finally, he said,
55:25I will kill you.
55:27Qabil answered,
55:28Even if you raise your hand to kill me,
55:30I will not raise my hand against you.
55:32I fear Allah.
55:34These words did not stop Qabil.
55:37One day, while Habil was resting,
55:39Qabil came close.
55:40He took a stone in his hand.
55:43His conscience spoke one last time,
55:45but he silenced it.
55:47Shaitan whispered,
55:48Throw it.
55:49And Qabil threw it.
55:50Qabil was killed.
55:52The first blood was shed on earth.
55:54The Quran describes this moment.
55:56His soul made it easy for him to kill his brother.
56:00So he killed him and became one of the losers.
56:04Maida, 30.
56:06Qabil paused for a moment.
56:07The first thing he felt was a strange sense of victory.
56:11It was over.
56:12I won.
56:13Now she is mine.
56:14Now he is not better than me.
56:16But this feeling did not last long.
56:19Within seconds, something else came.
56:21Fear.
56:22Qabil was not moving.
56:23This was the first time death had been seen.
56:27No human had ever died before.
56:29And now in front of him,
56:31there was a death he had caused with his own hands.
56:34He did not know what to do.
56:36He dragged the body aside.
56:38Left it.
56:39Walked away.
56:40And at that moment, Allah sent him a lesson
56:42from the most unexpected teacher.
56:45A crow came.
56:47It began to dig the ground with its beak.
56:50It made a hole.
56:51It took another dead crow and placed it inside.
56:55Then it covered it with soil.
56:57And as the Quran says,
56:59Qabil said,
57:00Woe to me!
57:01Am I not even able to be like this crow
57:03and hide the body of my brother?
57:06Maida, 31.
57:09Qabil never returned home.
57:11Just like him,
57:13many people who lived with faith
57:14would later be killed unjustly.
57:17He was the first example.
57:18And perhaps,
57:20this is how he earned paradise.
57:22Just as Adam,
57:24Alaihissalam,
57:25Hawa,
57:25and his wife waited for him,
57:27throughout history,
57:28millions of people have waited for their loved ones.
57:31A brother,
57:32a son,
57:33a daughter,
57:34a spouse,
57:34but they never returned home.
57:37Oppressors like Qabil killed them.
57:39May Allah grant paradise to all of them.
57:41May Allah protect us from being among the oppressors
57:44and from the evil of oppressors.
