A Sessions Court in Putrajaya on Monday (April 27) acquitted a former school van driver of a charge involving an eight-year-old boy, after finding that the defence had raised reasonable doubt.

00:01A former school van driver was acquitted and discharged by the Sessions Court in Putrajaya
00:06on Monday of sexually assaulting an eight-year-old boy at a condominium in 2022.
00:13Judge Datin Kunasundari Marimuthu freed Nali Jing, 34, at the close of the defence case,
00:20ruling that reasonable doubt had been raised. In her decision, she noted that the accused
00:26had only begun renting the condominium in 2024, not 2022, as stated in the charge,
00:33based on credible testimony from an independent witness. She also criticised the investigation,
00:39saying police failed to verify key details, including occupancy of the premises,
00:45and appeared to have proceeded with charges without thorough evidence gathering.
00:49Nga had been charged under Section 14, Subsection A of the sexual offences against children
00:55Act 2017 over an alleged offence in Pertaling, Selangor, between October 7 and 8, 2022.
01:04The charge was filed on June 11, 2025, and he was ordered to enter his defence on February 20,
