00:07court in Pertarlingjaya on Tuesday for reckless driving that injured three kindergarten pupils
00:12and a teacher near University Putra, Malaysia, UPM. Magistrate Noor Nastasya Mo Taruddin
00:19meted out the sentence to 44-year-old Mohamed Hamir Masruddin, who pleaded guilty to the
00:25offence under Section 42, subsection 1 of the Road Transport Act, 1987. The court also ordered
00:32Hamir to serve seven months' imprisonment if he fails to pay the fine. According to the charge,
00:38Hamir endangered the public by driving recklessly along Jalan Perziaran University 1 at 12.18pm
00:44on Saturday. The act provides, for up to five years' jail, a fine of 5,000 to 15,000 ringgit,
00:50and disqualification from holding a driving licence for at least five years upon conviction.
00:55Serdang OCPD Assistant Commissioner Mohamed Farid Ahmad confirmed on Saturday that a bus
01:02carrying five teachers and 30 kindergarten children had veered off the road and crashed
01:07into a tree during an outing. The injured victims sustained head injuries and were treated as
