00:00So the Phillies have been struggling. They do sit in last place technically right now,
00:03but we had a lot of interest in how the Giants would open their season because why?
00:07When you have a manager, he's a manager. What's the big deal? No, no, no. Guy comes from college
00:12over into the pros now, rubbing some people maybe the wrong way. Is there going to be a short leash?
00:17Now, they haven't technically turned it around, but it's hovering around 500, Craig. How do we
00:22think this year is going to turn out? Molly Webb and Hauser are going to go for the Giants,
00:26Luzardo, Sanchez, and Painter for the Phillies. Oh, that looks good for the Phillies until you see
00:30some of those ERAs over there, Craig. Yeah, the Giants have a decision to make here
00:36with Adrian Hauser, who they brought in this offseason. I mean, this kid is getting
00:40absolutely hammered, and if that happens again against the Phillies, I don't think that he's
00:45going to stay in that rotation, but we'll see what happens in that game Thursday. I mean,
00:49Giants have their guys going, right? Molly's pitched well for them. Webb has pitched well
00:53for them, so those are their two starters. Luzardo has not done great things for Philadelphia. You
00:58would expect Sanchez to get back on track. This is a tough series for me to call, Donnie,
01:02just looking at it here, because I do think the Giants are one of those teams that got off to
01:08that
01:08tough start that are sort of getting back into it now, right, Donnie? Like, I think that that's a
01:13team, they're not going to win 90, but you could see them winning in the 80s and see them clawing
01:18back to .500, so not giving up on them just yet. This is not going to be an easy series
01:23by any
01:23means for Philadelphia, and the Giants' bullpen has been really good as well, so toss-up series for me,
01:30but Thursday would be the one that if the Phillies can't hit Hauser, then they're in big trouble,
01:34because take a look at what he did on Friday. It was ugly.
01:39Andrew Painter there is supposed to go Thursday. Now, he's one of those guys that the Phillies have
01:42high expectations, end up getting injured in the minors, starting to work his way back at this point.
01:46Mick Abel was in the organization, which now is, I believe, a Minnesota twin now, but the reason I
01:50bring this up is you expect high expectations on some of these guys, and just a couple years back,
01:55we talked to JT Romuto in hour number one. Sixto Sanchez was a part of that trade to the Marlins,
02:00where I remember in Philadelphia, oh, we're getting a great catcher, but we just may have passed on a
02:04guy that's going to be, for the next 10 years, one of the dominant pitchers in baseball. It's so hard
02:08to try to say, you know what? Transfer this greatness from being a young kid into the major league
02:12system. Painter ups and downs already. The velocity isn't there from before the injury.
02:16But a big start there on Thursday going up against Hauser. Tigers and the Braves. Good
02:20series here, Craig, by the way. How about this? You take a look at Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
02:24are the off day on Monday. Braves in first place. Detroit looking to reclaim their status
02:28as maybe winning this division after that collapse last year. Mize, Scooble, and Valdez on the mound
02:34going up against Lopez, Richie, and Holmes here. Richie with that great first start is going to get
02:38another start. Holmes has been solid. Lopez on the mound, but you see Scooble and Valdez.
02:43That's that one-two knockout punch Detroit hopes they have if they can make it to the
02:47playoffs. Very tough. But look, the Tigers are going to have to score some runs against
02:51the Braves. The Braves are going to score runs in this series. So this is not going to be a
02:54walkover. And you mentioned Richie. Richie threw his first pitch. It was hit for a home run. And
02:59then he was awesome after that. So what's his reward? He gets to face Scooble in the next start
03:04on Wednesday. So a very fun, tough series, I think, here. And a series I still think the Braves
03:10potentially can win. But again, Detroit always doing it on the strength of their pitching. The
03:15Braves can mash a little bit here. So I think Detroit's going to have to score, you know, four
03:21or five runs in a couple of these games to get some wins. All three matchups, of course, favor the
03:26pitching, I think, for Detroit outside of the first one. Lopez probably a favorite at home.
03:32By the way, I mean, shout out that kid. Look, you finally have all that excitement for your
03:37first Major League Baseball start. Wasn't he like the first guy hit a home run? Like,
03:40all right, let's groove this fastball in here and get underway. Bang! Goes into the seats like,
03:44oh my goodness, going to start anywhere. That's awesome for a kid to give up a home run on his
03:48first pitch and then dominate the rest of the way. Good stuff out of the kid. The Dynabacks
03:51and the Brewers going to have a series Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, again, with the day off on
03:55Monday. And you take a look at Kelly Rodriguez and Sirocca here that are going to be on the
03:59mound and going up against Patrick Sprott and Woodruff here for those Brewers. Come on,
04:04Brew Crew. Get it underway. Expectations are high.
04:07Let's go out and win this division. Well, it's going to start with the series here versus the
04:09D-backs. A lot of bunting, a lot of stealing going on from Milwaukee right now. They're just
04:14trying to piece it together. I mean, Donnie, they've lost Chorio and Yelich. I mean, take
04:20two of your best four players away from any big league team right now and ask what they are.
04:26This is what the Brewers are. They're just trying to find ways to manufacture runs and getting it done.
04:31So I think a lot of low scoring games in this week against Arizona. Arizona probably still with an
04:36opportunity, I think, even to win the series on the road, Donnie. The Brewers just have to get
04:40healthier in order to compete. Right now, they're not.
