00:00Modern life is messy.
00:02It's really bad.
00:04And somebody's got to clean it up.
00:06If you have a weak stomach, it's not for you.
00:08Meet the people who get down and dirty to keep the country spick and spanned.
00:13Coming up...
00:14The smell is horrendous.
00:16I threw up about maybe 10 or 12 times.
00:19I need to be more careful.
00:20Because they are really drunk, so everything could happen.
00:24I love cleaning the toilet. It's really, like, oddly satisfying.
00:27This probably has never been done before.
00:29That is not acceptable.
00:30This is Cleaning Up Ireland.
00:34It's Saturday night in Dublin,
00:36and 90s fever is hitting the Three Arena.
00:39And standing by to soak it all up are the team from Ryan's Cleaning.
00:44Here we go again.
00:46Three Arena this time.
00:48They're all waiting to get into 90s Disco.
00:51It's going to be a busy crowd.
00:55So it's not going to be a quiet one.
00:58As Gemma keeps an eye on the early birds,
01:02Andressa and Arthur are inside,
01:03getting their dance floor plan in place.
01:06So you need to go to the second floor
01:07and make sure all the floor is dry and clean.
01:14Everybody's Brazilian here, so we already know, you know, when, which kind of people is, which
01:20kind of music and which public will be, how messy will be, some, we already know, you know,
01:26because I know this kind of event.
01:28And tonight, they're going to be on a mad one.
01:32Concerts are very varied.
01:33You could have a mad rocker concert to a comedy festival.
01:39Totally different.
01:40It could be confetti.
01:42It could be streamers.
01:43It could be balloons.
01:44It could be anything, but it all depends on who's playing.
01:51As the three arena pulses to life, the Ryans team are poised for action.
01:57Their mission?
01:58Catch every spillage before it causes murder on the dance floor.
02:06So, so I received the calls from the weapon control.
02:12Sorry.
02:13And when they say to me, I send to my guys where they need to go.
02:16But sometimes it's loads of calls.
02:19It's madness.
02:21And it's too loud.
02:23So sometimes my guys cannot hear me.
02:25And it's too hard.
02:30Most of the calls is to go to the stands.
02:34Because people is walking to buy more beers and they drop.
02:40It's for spillages.
02:43Yeah, I go to level one.
02:46Arthur joined the company earlier this year.
02:49He is, Arthur is brilliant.
02:52So he works various places, but usually he's in three arena.
02:55And he's just a whiz kid.
02:58He just, you'll see him go.
02:59He just moves like a flyer.
03:01I work here in the arena.
03:02I wrote eight, nine months.
03:04And I have many, many shows in my list.
03:08Okay.
03:09Today is a different because the guys have more oat and more drinking.
03:17The spillage in the floor and the tomato popcorn is a little bit more dirty.
03:22They are a lively bunch.
03:25But it's good.
03:26It's good so far.
03:27Yeah, plenty of spilled drinks, plenty of spilled popcorn.
03:30The guys are very busy at the moment.
03:32So they're up and down, up and down in the toilets, making sure everything is good.
03:45Now it's time to be busy.
03:51Now it's time to be more careful, yeah.
04:13Welcome to Cleanfluencer Brandon's squeaky clean haven in County Dublin.
04:18Eurogiant have been in touch with my agency to feature in a collab coming up for a deep
04:24clean on a series I'm doing in my grandparents' house to clean it before they come home from
04:28Spain.
04:28My name is Brandon.
04:29I'm 26 years old and I'm from Dublin.
04:31I live in a little bungalow next door to my nana and granddad.
04:35So with collaborations, they are booked through my agent.
04:39How much money you earn, it all depends on your engagement and your views and all that
04:44types of stuff.
04:44So the last like two months, I've racked up to like a million views overall with like content.
04:50So that's her job.
04:52I wouldn't have a clue.
04:53I'd probably accept like an ad for 50 euro and think I'm absolutely amazing.
04:58So there's a bit of pressure there to make sure that the content performs well.
05:03So with doing this video for my grandparents, it's like a nice gesture I'm doing for them
05:08to come home and have a nice clean house.
05:10And also it kind of resonates with my followers because it is clean and content.
05:15So this clip is basically the start of the advertisement.
05:18So I like to kind of make it known as natural-ish as possible.
05:23So I'm showing where I got the products and then showing off the products that I'm using.
05:28So today we're doing a deep clean in the bathroom.
05:30So I'm mostly using all products that are for the bathroom, obviously.
05:37So when you're dealing with tight spaces like this, it can be a little bit awkward.
05:44You're not on like a traditional set where you have lots of room to move around.
05:50And I'm knocking everything over and then forgetting products.
05:53You're like tripping over your extension lead.
05:55Last time I broke a camera trying to do it.
05:58But yeah, it can be pretty, pretty irritating to be honest when you're trying to get Everton perfect.
06:04Like drying Everton off just looks better when you're doing like this stainless steel.
06:09Is this stainless? I don't even know.
06:11It's so weird. I love cleaning the toilet.
06:13It's really like oddly satisfying.
06:17I was going to say the dirtier the better, but no, no.
06:21My phone hasn't fallen down the toilet yet, but I think the phone is meant to be waterproof.
06:26Are they waterproof?
06:27For me, I like to have it, things a certain way.
06:31But I don't think a follower would be like, oh, he has a whole set up of tripods and like
06:36spines.
06:37They really just think I just whip the phone out, you know.
06:39So with the likes of this, with the noise of like the rattling of the packaging or even the powder
06:45in this,
06:46it kind of counts as like your ASMR kind of content, which people love.
06:53Ah yes, the sound of pink sprinkles falling into the toilet is the therapy you didn't know you needed.
06:59This is the fast acting part of the shot, really, to be quick.
07:03When it comes to like the drains, there's a bit of a smell.
07:06It's not really nice, but we'll have to deal with it.
07:08So once I kind of get whatever shot that I'm doing, I just continue on doing, actually cleaning.
07:15Will she go mad?
07:16Because I'm showing this.
07:17For like thousands of people to see.
07:19Yeah, she might, she might lose her head.
07:22But she can't complain.
07:23I cleaned her bathroom first, so it'll be nice and clean when she comes home.
07:27I think it'll be a good video.
07:28You won't really know until I sit down and actually start to edit.
07:31Yeah, there definitely is money to be made.
07:33If you're up there with the big boys and you have like hundreds of thousands or millions of followers,
07:39you can, you know, you can make a lot of money.
07:42Like, who wouldn't want to work towards making 20 round the post or something?
07:47Today we are over and my grandparents getting a deep feed.
07:50Sometimes you can be hit with the dreaded low view ad, which has happened to me.
07:54So it just, sometimes you can repost it and hope a different time of the day it will perform better.
08:01And sometimes it doesn't.
08:03That is the risk that not only you have to take, but the brand has to take as well.
08:07Yeah, so that video is scheduled now for a quarter past two tomorrow.
08:12I like to post if it's on a Thursday or Friday in and around lunchtime.
08:16So people are on lunch on their phones, so I can actually get engagement with the post.
08:21It's all kind of a game whether something's going to perform well or not, but we shall find out.
08:27While Brandon is all about the optics, Barry has mixed feelings about his own branding.
08:33I've got them through COVID.
08:36I don't even like them.
08:37I don't even like tattoos.
08:39I don't even like them.
08:40I don't.
08:41I was COVID.
08:41I was literally, like, I was bored.
08:45I met a guy in Portsmouth.
08:48I'm a very all or nothing person.
08:50So if you're going to do something, do it all.
08:53So we did the whole arm.
08:54So if there's a lot of, um, follow me, the smell of me, that's why.
09:02Probably smell of beans out me.
09:04That's it.
09:05Having turned cleaning wheelie bins into a tidy business, there are no flies on this entrepreneur.
09:14Yeah, so for a general waste bin, this is pretty bad.
09:17You can see this probably has never been done before.
09:21That's, like, looking at that, for example, like, that is at least three to five years has been touched.
09:27So that is not acceptable.
09:29I've seen a lot of disgusting things.
09:33And we find everything from, obviously, food.
09:36And it's all liquidy and stuff.
09:38But, yeah, you'll find, like, underwear.
09:40You know, you'll find, um, a lot of different things that should be in beans.
09:46That's it.
09:48So that's now spotless.
09:50There's no smell.
09:51Smell is gone.
09:52So when the customer sees the bin, she'll come home tonight and open that up.
09:55And she'll go, isn't Barry just great?
10:00And just like a bad bin smell, word of mouth follows Barry around.
10:05You'll be in an area and someone will come out, run over to you and say,
10:08while you're here, would you wash me beans?
10:11So it's like when the ice cream man comes around and you hear the ice cream man.
10:14You never really want an ice cream till you hear them.
10:16That's me.
10:17You never want your beans washed till you see me.
10:20Just heading to Dublin 13 now and then we'll be up to you after that, okay?
10:24See you soon.
10:25We'll be about an hour, okay?
10:26Okay.
10:27Before his next call, Barry drops home for a lunch date with his wife and number one supporter.
10:33This is called Atole.
10:34He calls it Atole, but the right name is Atole.
10:40It's a drink with rice and cinnamon.
10:43It's actually nice.
10:43She's the one that said to me to try and work smarter, not harder, because I'm working 40 and 50
10:50hour days.
10:55I'd say over the spring, summer period, over about maybe 150 days, I've probably worked about 145 of them.
11:02You know, I kind of need her right now.
11:04When you're building your business, you need someone in your life to just bounce off and she's everything like that.
11:10So if I'm from home, I'm tired or stressed, you can have that conversation with her.
11:17So she's always there.
11:19Lunch polished off, it's time for Barry's next appointment.
11:23But first, he needs to gain access.
11:28I'm looking for access to get the bins.
11:32I'm here to wash the bins.
11:34What's your first name?
11:35My name is Barry.
11:37One second.
11:37I will try to find out.
11:45Yeah, I give it about 20 minutes after that, I just will go.
11:49We'll come back another day.
11:50It's just, it's a waste of my time.
11:52It's very frustrating when you get to a place and nobody can help you get in.
12:00Still to come.
12:02Oh, f***.
12:04This is after every show, straight in, get this part clear and then the guys can rig out.
12:10The compost bin is manky.
12:12It's the worst bin.
12:31It's 48 hours since Cleanfluencer Brandon posted his deep clean.
12:35But how has his bathroom bait performed?
12:38So Eurojoint performed really, really well.
12:41I'm hoping it's going to open more doors.
12:44Some of the comments are saying, I hope your nana and gran is leaving you a good amount in the
12:48whale.
12:49You want a video to perform well if a brand is like paying you.
12:53Because you also want to continue some sort of business relationship.
12:57And you want to have like a partnership with them in the long run.
13:01Not just, I'll take your money, do a video, good luck, happy days, you know.
13:05And how will his grandparents feel about their famous bathroom?
13:10Right, so I did an ad for Eurojoint and I cleaned your house ways away.
13:13As much as they're my nana and gran that, I get on with them like I would friends, you know.
13:19So we do have a good relationship.
13:20What's the bill now we owe you?
13:22He's coming to Florida.
13:24He's haven't seen the video, have he's?
13:25No, not yet.
13:26When my nana and gran are home, this bathroom is literally as small as you could eat your food off
13:31the floor.
13:32I wasn't going to throw you under the bus now, was I?
13:35I'm just making sure.
13:36That's fine cleaning the toilet, really, really satisfying.
13:39That's your new job now, cleaning the bathroom?
13:42He's even great in the camera and all that, we think, you know, really good, you know.
13:46We just say that to him as well, you know, he's doing good, yeah.
13:50In terms of this, it's kind of similar to the likes of like a celebrity kind of thing,
13:56where you have a shelf life to it.
13:58So I feel like it's all about evolving with it as well.
14:00But that's something to worry about in the future.
14:05A few miles from Brandon's grandparents' shiny tiles,
14:08the dance floor of the three arena is proving a bigger challenge for Arthur.
14:15This is very hard for cleaning.
14:18Wash the floor because the spirits, because the drinks, it's very sticky.
14:23The ground floor and the second floor, you need to check the stairs in the seats.
14:28And all the time, you need the attention, staying alert, because protection for the guests, you know.
14:35Sometimes, you need calm, because the guy is a little bit drunk, you know.
14:41But for me, now, in this moment, it's normal, you know.
14:55It's a musical from Brazil.
15:07I work with my friends, because the three arena is one good thing.
15:11They have a lot of friends, they have, she's maybe one family.
15:33A lot of confetti everywhere, so it was messy.
15:38It's confetti, it's very hard, because it stays all the time on the floor.
15:44You need to sweep, you wash.
15:46As the dancers clear the arena, the extent of the cleanup facing Ryans is revealed.
15:51With only four hours to clear the venue, they'll need to work like maniacs on the floor.
16:02Meanwhile, Barry's bins are still playing hard to get.
16:08Sorry, I can't take your call or on the mail.
16:10If you'd like to send that, I'll get back to you.
16:13Sorry, girls.
16:14Girls, do you know how to open this door?
16:19Ah, brilliant.
16:20That's it, sometimes you need to ask.
16:23Right to the source.
16:27The bins were empty this morning, and obviously the time I've got here,
16:34the residents have thrown their rubbish in,
16:38so I have to dump, wash, put back in.
16:41The smell is, it's horrendous.
16:44It's really bad.
16:45I'd say the first six weeks were very difficult for me.
16:48The only way I can describe it is that really strong, orangey, tangy smell,
16:53and they're just absolutely sick.
16:55Like, if you have a weak stomach, it's not for you.
16:58So, yeah, I threw up about maybe 10 or 12 times in the first six weeks.
17:04The compost bin is manky.
17:07It's the worst bin.
17:08It's stinking, and it's just full of food and juice,
17:13and it's just got everything you don't want.
17:16It's absolutely manky.
17:19That is exactly what I'm talking about.
17:21But that's it.
17:22I can smile now and smell that.
17:24No bother.
17:24I'm well used to it.
17:27Let's crack on and get this done.
17:33I love washing them.
17:35I love it.
17:36It's so therapeutic.
17:44Yeah, bins washed.
17:45Job's done.
17:46Let's rock.
17:51So, working in retail, I think that gave me the platform to where I am today.
17:56You know, I think dealing with the public is probably one of my strong points.
18:02Hey, Bertie.
18:03Hey, Mel.
18:03All right?
18:04How are you doing?
18:05Yeah.
18:05Thanks, love.
18:06I feel so good.
18:06Yeah, very good.
18:07Thank you so much for that.
18:07I enjoyed it.
18:09Give me a kiss.
18:10Yeah, very good.
18:10I enjoyed it.
18:11Thank you so much.
18:11You're very welcome.
18:12Thank you, love.
18:13I'm absolutely delighted with this.
18:15I'll be having this tonight for a cup of tea.
18:18When you go to a customer for the first time and the three bins are so bad and you give
18:23them back literally, like, brand new, it's unreal.
18:27And then, like, he or she could just tell the world and that helps you.
18:32Okay, so this is the last call of the day.
18:34So, there's two houses here.
18:38One is a regular customer and the neighbour then has never had her bins before.
18:43So, you can see the difference, even months every four months, organic, and never been
18:47done before.
18:48This is me coming home.
18:49I'd be, uh, I'd come, I'd come home fairly wet, um, and fairly dirty.
18:55Like, obviously, I'll, I'll wash meself off before I go in.
18:58My wife is, uh, obviously, she doesn't like it.
19:02She hates getting in the van sometimes because the smell comes through the van.
19:05And her reaction's brilliant.
19:07Like, she makes me laugh.
19:08I do laugh and she's, like, really puking in the van, so.
19:12Yeah, I absolutely love it.
19:13It's like, you see a wall and you want to paint it.
19:16I see a filthy bin and I want to see it clean and it's just, yeah, it's brilliant.
19:21That was a bit harder than years ago.
19:24Definitely a lot of the weather as well, like, so.
19:30That's it.
19:31Done.
19:32Home time.
19:34Barry's day is done, but in the three arena, Gemma and the Ryan's cleaning team are working
19:40against the clock.
19:41This is after every show, straight in, get this part clear, and then the guys can rig
19:46out.
19:47I always try to explain for the new ones as well how quick we need to be because they
19:53are really quick to break down the stage.
19:55So, what you see is a lot of things here, and if it's dirty, you know, it don't wait.
20:01So, we need to clean before they come with everything.
20:04So, we need to be really, really quick.
20:08We've tried a lot of different methods to try and hurry it up, but this seems to be
20:14the most effective.
20:16You'll see there's a lot of confetti over there and it's actually stuck with the drink.
20:21So, it's going to be, yeah, it's hard to get off, so it'll take a good sweep to get
20:25that off.
20:26So, yeah, it's a race against time.
20:32As the rest of the team clear the arena, Arthur is getting started on the toilets.
20:37Because the guy is a little bit drunken and taking off all the papers and leaving the floor
20:44and all the rubbish leaving the sink, it's so bad.
20:49It's very bad.
20:50Usually, our team, they don't mind what they clean.
20:52So, if they're hoovering, if they're cleaning toilets, if they're emptying bins, they go with
20:57the flow.
20:58They do everything, which is great.
21:00I need to do the little peeker here.
21:09Some cups inside.
21:15Oh, f***.
21:19F***.
21:21F***.
21:24Huh?
21:33Resolve the problem.
21:36We're getting there, slowly but surely.
21:39All about teamwork and there's a good team and they're an experienced team, so it all helps.
21:43And they all know what each other is doing, so there's no kind of do this, do that.
21:47They just go and they, yeah, mold into a team.
21:52Yeah, they're good.
21:54You have your glasses.
21:58See, he looks the part.
22:01I think we have the best cleaning team ever.
22:04The dedication, the long hours, they have a pride when they go to work.
22:09They want to make sure that the place is as clean as when they come into it.
22:13They're brilliant, absolutely brilliant.
22:18Tomorrow off, after, seven nights.
22:22No, it would be really hard to be seven nights here.
22:26But the job isn't without some fringe benefits.
22:30Here in Trier-Den, I think my favourite was Limp Bizkit.
22:34It was really nice.
22:36But in Croke Park, you know which one was.
22:40Oasis.
22:42So I saw really nice concerts working in Ryan's cleaning.
22:47So it was the part that she motivated most.
22:51Don't look back in anger.
22:53Don't look back in anger.
22:59I heard you say.
23:06Well, if the week in politics has left you with questions,
23:08Gavin Reilly has answers and a panel not afraid to challenge them.
23:12Don't miss Monday with Gavin Reilly.
23:14Monday at 10.15 on Virgin Media Play and Virgin Media 1.
