00:01Anyway, let us turn to the Word of Truth and explore what the Lord has for us this evening.
00:07As we mentioned, Matthew chapter 9, and draw your attention to the last few verses of that chapter.
00:12Matthew chapter 9 and verse 35.
00:16And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues,
00:23preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
00:32But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them,
00:39because they fainted and were scattered abroad as sheep having no shepherd.
00:47Then saith he, verse 37, then saith he unto his disciples,
00:55The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labors are few.
01:01Pray ye therefore, the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labors into his harvest.
01:11Amen. So we pray.
01:15Our gracious Father, as we look into thy Word this night, we pray that thy Spirit may guide and direct
01:21us,
01:22that thy Word would be quickened in our own hearts and souls,
01:26that we may grow in grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ day by day,
01:31that thy Word would be kept in remembrance, and the power of thy Spirit manifest forth,
01:37as we would seek, Father, to know your help, your strength, to walk in the light of your truth.
01:45We pray, Father, for those who could not be here with us, that you'd undertake for them.
01:50You know their hearts, their needs, perhaps special needs that we're not even aware of,
01:55that you'd undertake for them.
01:57We thank you, Father, for the privilege of prayer, bringing our cares, our concerns to you,
02:02even as thou hast said in thy Word, casting all your care upon him, for he careth for you.
02:08Father, bless us this day, and may your Word, as it has gone forth across our nation,
02:15be a help and encouragement to your people, and a word of salvation to the lost.
02:19We thank you, Father, for the freedoms we do have.
02:24We pray that if it so please thee, it may continue, that your Word indeed would have free course.
02:31For in the precious name of the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, we pray.
02:37Amen.
02:41To quote a text of Scripture, a very well-known one,
02:48For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
02:54that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
03:04Amen.
03:07As one would think upon such a text, a number of words would most likely come to mind.
03:14What they are in your mind, they couldn't begin to expound on.
03:18But, as I think of it, a couple words come to mind.
03:22Well, one specific, well, here's one.
03:25One word is compassion.
03:28Compassion.
03:30The compassion of God is made known.
03:34The other word is Jesus.
03:39Jesus.
03:40The Son of God.
03:41He manifests the Father's compassion.
03:47Just before we turn to the text, perhaps I should mention this word compassion.
03:52The connotation that it brings forth in Scripture is to feel sympathy.
03:58To feel sympathy.
03:59To pity.
04:01To be moved.
04:03And, of course, to be moved with compassion.
04:05The dictionary puts it this way, pulling it all together, which I find kind of interesting.
04:11But, anyway, this is what the dictionary states.
04:15Sympathetic consciousness of others' distress, together with a desire to alleviate it.
04:27Could you think of a better, in a sense, definition of the work and ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ?
04:34And so, as we take a look at this text, this evening in Matthew chapter 9, 35 to the end
04:39of the chapter there,
04:40that is the word that we wish to keep in mind and to pursue as we look into this.
04:46So, let's begin, then.
04:49And compassion is what we're looking at.
04:52It is manifested in the life and ministry of Jesus Christ.
04:56We note, he entered this realm.
05:01Just notice what he says there, what the Scripture tells us in verse 35 in Matthew 9.
05:05Jesus went about all the cities and villages.
05:10Well, we come through a session, a brief consideration about the arrival of the Lord Jesus Christ.
05:18Born in a manger, a youngster, grew up, and then began his ministry.
05:23But to back up a little bit, how does he get into these cities?
05:26Well, he had to make his appearance.
05:28And so he entered this realm.
05:30It's one way we would put it.
05:36Compassion necessitated he become one of us.
05:43Here he is approaching a city where there's various problems.
05:47Again, we might just draw our attention to the fact of these cities and villages.
05:51Well, Canada, any country you choose, any place on a map, close your eyes, spin a globe, touch it.
05:59There's problems.
06:01Can't escape.
06:03Everybody knows that.
06:04Some might deny it.
06:06Well, how do we know that?
06:07Because of the reality of the fact of the fall.
06:11Sin entered the world through one man, as the Scripture tells us.
06:14Now we see the appearance of one who will rectify those things.
06:20Jesus Christ.
06:22So he entered this realm, and I mentioned the fact that compassion necessitated that he became one of us.
06:28Perhaps just another text to draw your attention to is Hebrews.
06:32I'll just read a portion out of Hebrews chapter 2.
06:36I'll just read it up near the end of the chapter.
06:38We'll read these words in Hebrews chapter 2, verse 15.
06:43And deliver them.
06:45I'm kind of cutting in the middle of things.
06:46Some of this, I think, is familiar.
06:48But just as stated in Hebrews 2, verse 15.
06:53And deliver them, who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
07:00Verse 16, for verily he took not on himself the nature of angels.
07:07Let's pause for a moment.
07:08Scripture doesn't give us any indication of this.
07:10But suppose, speculate.
07:14I don't like speculation.
07:15But nevertheless, here, what if you became an angel?
07:18Well, there's two ways to go, right?
07:20Perhaps you don't think of these things.
07:22A bad angel, a fallen angel, or a good angel.
07:29Well, I don't know what you might choose, but he didn't become a bad angel, of course.
07:35Nor did he become an angel, a good angel.
07:38He became one of us.
07:42And in order to become one of us, he had to enter a sinful, corrupt realm.
07:48God created a perfect world.
07:50Yet the Lord, through compassion, as we're noting this word,
07:55He became one of us to solve our problem.
08:00He didn't have a problem.
08:03He was without sin.
08:05So he makes his appearance in our midst.
08:07Well, I'll finish reading the text here that I'm looking at here.
08:10For verily he took not on himself the nature of angels.
08:13He took on him the seed of Abraham.
08:17Verse 17, so he's part of a specific nation.
08:20Verse 17.
08:22Wherefore, in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, a human being,
08:29and that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest, to show compassion, to be faithful
08:36in all that he says and does.
08:38He is the high priest who was prophesied to come, that is, Jesus Christ, a faithful priest
08:44in things pertaining to God.
08:47A priest, of course, the role of a priest is to bring the concerns of a people to God in
08:52prayer
08:52and make them known, even though the Lord knows all things, and so forth.
08:57And this work that he does.
08:59And also to offer up sacrifices in the Old Testament picture that we are given.
09:04And I know sometimes people might comment, oh, I have a problem with all that sacrifice
09:08business.
09:09Well, do you understand your own sin?
09:12How's the inroads that sin has made in your own life?
09:15A wonderful little children's story about how it subtly creeps in to the subtly of Satan
09:21and so forth.
09:22It's there.
09:25It's like dirt, you know.
09:26You can sweep it under the rug, but it's still there.
09:29You can ignore it, redefine it, say it's something else, but it is what it is, according to the
09:35God who is the righteous one.
09:38And so he makes reconciliation to follow through on the text there in verse 17.
09:44Things pertain to God to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
09:48And how does he do that?
09:50Jesus Christ.
09:51He becomes the sacrifice.
09:54He dies upon the cross.
09:56He is put to death.
09:58He sheds his precious blood in remission for the sins of a people, not his own sin.
10:05The phrase he used sometimes is the great exchange.
10:08And in verse 18, for in that he himself has suffered being tempted.
10:13He was able to succor them or to help them that are tempted.
10:17Or you might use the phrase there, go through trials and sufferings and difficulties and so
10:22forth.
10:23But, well, that's what we're saying here.
10:26Just as Jesus enters into these cities and the villages of that particular time, he entered
10:31this realm, this world that we're in with a far greater purpose, if you want to put it
10:37that way.
10:38Well, he who knew no sin, well, to the midst of a sinful, sinful world.
10:47And he's going about his ministry at this particular time and his passage that we're looking at.
10:53I would add this, too, that the mission of Jesus meant manifesting compassion because
11:01he is the Father's Son.
11:03God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit.
11:07So they are performing or carrying out the wishes of the Father, Jesus, in doing what
11:12he agreed to do.
11:13And ultimately, the Holy Spirit will make it effectual and real.
11:17Perhaps you know this from reading the Bible yourselves.
11:20You read the Bible, you know, I don't have a clue what's going on.
11:23I don't know what that means.
11:24Well, you keep at it for some strange reason.
11:27God is probably calling you.
11:28And then suddenly, whoa, I see.
11:32My sin was a problem.
11:33And God sent his son to die on the cross for my sin.
11:38And the light goes on, as he used to say, kind of a thing, and kind of becomes clear.
11:43But it's a true God.
11:44You may have believed in other gods, maybe a version of God that others told you.
11:49But through the scriptures, you start to see.
11:51This is the true God.
11:53God the Father revealed in it through his Son, Jesus Christ.
11:57That's why often I'd say, maybe not too much from the pulpit, maybe I should say it more.
12:01I don't know.
12:01But to talk about God, that's like talking about a really fine meal.
12:07It's just wonderful.
12:08It's great.
12:09Yeah, I heard of it.
12:10These people, they had a great time having this wonderful meal.
12:12I actually walked by and I smelled it, you know, and on it goes.
12:16But did you ever have a part of it?
12:18No.
12:19You don't know the true God.
12:21But people may speak in other terms.
12:23Oh, yeah, so I'm a very spiritual person.
12:26That person's very spiritual.
12:28But did they ever mention to know Jesus Christ in a way that changes their lives in totality?
12:34No.
12:36You see?
12:37It's only in and through the Lord Jesus Christ, as the scripture puts it.
12:42What is that in Acts chapter 4?
12:44We mentioned it this morning.
12:46But it is only in and through the Lord Jesus Christ.
12:49Acts 4.
12:4912.
12:50Neither is there salvation in any other.
12:53Total cure, if you want to put it that way.
12:57Neither is there salvation in any other.
12:59For there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
13:08There is no other way.
13:10It is only in and through the Lord Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for our sins and rose
13:14from the dead on the third day, conquering death, the results of sin.
13:18I don't know if you ever wondered as a child.
13:20Like, it's a strange little question.
13:22But I think it might cross some children's minds.
13:25They lose a pet.
13:28Oh, he's in a bush.
13:29Go find him.
13:30No.
13:30The pet died.
13:33Child asked the question.
13:36What is death?
13:40How do you answer the question?
13:43And you know the truth about it is?
13:45Yes, Christ, what is death?
13:47Nobody knows.
13:50Oh, everybody knows.
13:51We've been to so many fruit.
13:52No, that's not what I'm talking about.
13:54Death, well, what am I talking about?
13:57Romans chapter 6 gives a clearer explanation, so to speak, that it's, well, I'll just read it and then comment
14:05on it.
14:06In Romans chapter 6, this is what we read.
14:08Verse 23, the wages of sin is death.
14:14Death is a result of sin.
14:18Prior to Adam's disobedience to God, there was no death.
14:24Oh, that's the explanation.
14:26Yes.
14:29And, well, I'm getting ahead of myself here, but, well, Christ comes, and what does he do?
14:37Implicitly and forwardly, objectively, if you will.
14:39All the explanations, if you want to put it this way, or the explanation of the meaning of life, the
14:48meaning of dying, all of those things become crystal clear.
14:53Right into the righteousness of God, Christ himself, who conquers death, rises from the dead, because he demolished, and ultimately
15:04it will be manifest for us upon his return.
15:06The complete destruction of all evil, death itself, sin.
15:12How does all this work?
15:14Or, I like asking questions that no one has an answer for, because all you can say is, God speak
15:20and it was done, there's a world.
15:21Perfect.
15:23How does all have a good?
15:24He said so.
15:25Well, how can you say it?
15:26Because I believe God.
15:28Why do you believe God?
15:30By the grace of God.
15:32And it's just the sheer goodness of God all around.
15:34But, we better move along here.
15:37So, as we looked at this, that, we're looking at the compassion of the Lord.
15:40He's part of the Son, part of the Trinity, and so forth.
15:44And we could, well, that portion read, I won't turn there, I guess, is Psalm 145, the goodness of God,
15:50and his compassion.
15:52Now, it manifests forth through his Son in a very real and living way.
15:56And I should just mention this, too.
15:58I'm going to glance over to chapter 15 in Matthew.
16:03I'll read the whole thing, I think, a couple of verses there.
16:06But I wanted to just focus on the last part.
16:09In Matthew 15, verse 30, notice what it says.
16:17Did I say 15?
16:19Nope.
16:2013.
16:27All right.
16:28I was right the first time.
16:30Maybe a little bit of finger exercise, because people like to exercise their thumbs, so let's use our fingers.
16:35No.
16:35Okay, verse 30 of Matthew 15, verse 30.
16:38A great multitude came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, and dumb, maimed, and many others,
16:45cast them down at Jesus' feet.
16:47Question.
16:48Where are you?
16:50While I'm driving in my car.
16:53I ask you in the audience, where are you?
16:55You're in the local church.
16:58Gathered together.
16:59Hearing about Jesus Christ and the word of God.
17:02Looking into his word.
17:04Ah.
17:06The compassion of the Lord Jesus Christ.
17:09There they are, there before him.
17:12You see?
17:14Maybe you don't.
17:14I don't know.
17:15But let's read on.
17:16And he says, insomuch that the multitude wondered, they saw the dumb speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame
17:25to walk, the blind to see.
17:29And they glorified the God of Israel.
17:33You have a whole history there.
17:35I mean, the Old Testament, what God was doing, throughout history.
17:38But it's not fixed to a limited time.
17:42You see.
17:43Now, I need to explain that.
17:45Again, he made certain things known through his son.
17:48And what Jesus is doing, he's manifesting that he is truly the son of God, the Messiah that was prophesied.
17:54But these healings, that's a part of it.
17:58You'll get those who God is almighty.
18:02He's able to heal, which is true.
18:04And he did it.
18:05You see it in the life of Jesus Christ.
18:08But they will go a little further.
18:10And this happens, I think, quite often in thinking.
18:13They become extremists.
18:15So the demand and what they put upon God is that now I have faith.
18:21Heal me now.
18:22And I know a lot of people suffer and so forth.
18:24But that's like looking at the cross of the Lord Jesus Christ where he shed his blood.
18:30Christ died for my sins.
18:33Die again.
18:35You see the nonsense of that?
18:38But often we don't connect our thinking to the simplicity of scripture.
18:42It's straightforwardness.
18:44And then we put demands upon God that are aspects of our sinful thinking rather than the righteousness of God.
18:52Well, anyway, you maybe get it, maybe don't, I don't know.
18:56But the Lord is able to heal, of course.
18:59Does he do it?
19:00Sometimes, perhaps.
19:01But nevertheless, we see who Jesus is because of what he did and what the Father enabled him to do
19:07and so forth at a specific time.
19:11What does that tell us?
19:13Well, just move ahead.
19:15Well, if you're in a car, don't move.
19:17No, in your thinking, suddenly the Lord returns.
19:22A new heaven, a new earth.
19:24What happens?
19:26The possibility of sin and death vanish.
19:30All wickedness and evil are transported, I'm being nice, to a lost eternity in hell.
19:36Perdition.
19:37A whole new world.
19:40I'm getting ahead of myself, but I'll read the text anyway found in the book of Revelation.
19:44Probably very well known too.
19:45But here in Revelation chapter 21, this is what we read.
19:50A new heaven and a new earth.
19:52For the first heaven, verse 1 of chapter 21 of Revelation.
19:56The first earth was passed away.
19:58Well, everybody knows about that, right?
20:00What it's like.
20:01And there was no more sea.
20:03Things have changed.
20:04Well, let's pick up verse 3.
20:06Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men.
20:08His presence is manifest forth.
20:11Can't be denied.
20:12And he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people.
20:21Now, what was Jesus doing with all these people at his feet, so to speak?
20:26Healing them.
20:27When God shows up and he comes, what happens?
20:30Verse 4.
20:31And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
20:35And there shall be no more death.
20:39What about martyrdom?
20:41These martyrs.
20:44The blessing of God, taking them home.
20:47A little quicker.
20:48It's easy to say.
20:50But if you're a part of that, what will that be like?
20:53You see?
20:54So anyway, to read it on.
20:56No more death, neither sorrow nor crying.
20:58The world we know.
21:01Pain of loss.
21:02Diseases, so forth.
21:04Thank you, Adam.
21:05For the former things are passed away.
21:08All of this.
21:10An expression, ultimately, of the compassion of God the Father.
21:14In and through the work of his Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
21:16Christ, now present, in terms of the work of the Spirit of God.
21:21Through the quickening of that word in the hearts of them that he calls to himself, he draws.
21:27Suddenly you see.
21:29Now you know.
21:30You can read books.
21:31You say, that guy's wrong.
21:33Because you're smarter?
21:34No.
21:34It is the Spirit of God and his truth showing you.
21:37So someone says, well, death is just in your mind.
21:41Well, they're lying through their teeth, you see.
21:44The Christian has an awesome, incredible privilege and responsibility to speak the truth consistently and constantly.
21:52And all you're doing is relaying what anybody can go up in the scriptures, start to take a look and
21:57see.
21:58Anybody.
22:00What?
22:01I better keep going here.
22:03So we noted briefly here that he entered this realm and we see what he does in terms of, well,
22:11let's move on to the second one there.
22:12His teaching.
22:13Verse 35 of Matthew 9.
22:16He educated in the truth.
22:20Where did he come from?
22:22Well, just like he was talking with Nicodemus, he came from above.
22:26He came from eternity.
22:27He showed up.
22:30You know, he can use all kinds of language there if you want.
22:33But what does it say there in our text?
22:36Teaching in their synagogues.
22:38What is he teaching?
22:39The truth that no one else can grasp or know.
22:44No one.
22:45The Father sent the Son.
22:47He makes known then the reality of what death is and entering it himself.
22:53And then what he teaches and says, in the word of God, we learn about the true God.
22:58And what God is doing.
23:00Especially through the work of his Son.
23:02Jesus sent, he is sent of the Father.
23:07Rightly represents him, the true God.
23:10Even in his prayer, John 17.
23:12He picks up an indication there.
23:13What does he say?
23:14He said, I am the way.
23:17What way?
23:18The way of how to live.
23:20To please God.
23:21He always did those things that pleased the Father.
23:24To live in accordance with his word.
23:26Or obedience, if you prefer that term.
23:30Knowing what he says.
23:31Seeking to be obedient to it.
23:34That wonderful little children's story.
23:36You know, God, I don't know how to live.
23:38Can you teach me?
23:40I think I make mistakes and people get mad.
23:42And I don't know why.
23:43I'm probably sinning.
23:44Can you show me where that is?
23:46I should just caution you.
23:48Be careful about praying that.
23:52You might answer.
23:54You see.
23:56The truth is made known and revealed in and through Jesus Christ.
24:00The word of God.
24:00Particularly the spirit of God works in and through his word.
24:03Jesus sent the spirit of God.
24:05As he tells us in John 15.
24:08Well, in 16 there.
24:09And those things begin to work.
24:11And he represents the Father.
24:13The scripture.
24:14I'm not going to turn there.
24:15But in, say, Numbers 23, 19.
24:17God cannot lie.
24:19He's not a man.
24:20He cannot lie.
24:20He sent his son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
24:23He speaks the truth.
24:24Hebrews 6, 18 again speaks of that.
24:27He relays the truth consistently and constantly.
24:33He is the truth incarnate.
24:35As we noted.
24:36I am the way, the truth, and the life.
24:39John 14, verse 6.
24:42A good passage, I think, if you want to read it.
24:44I don't think we have time.
24:45It's John chapter 3, verses 1 to 8.
24:47It's talking to Nicodemus.
24:49And Nicodemus doesn't get it.
24:52Can you profess and say clearly?
24:55Not even necessarily metaphorically.
24:58I am Nicodemus.
25:00What are you saying?
25:01You're saying, I'm as blind as he is.
25:04Lord, help me to see and comprehend and understand.
25:08You know, I need your spirit.
25:11For he has given us your word of truth.
25:14From heaven's glory, if you will.
25:17For eternity.
25:18And it has entered time.
25:20I'm part of time.
25:21Trapped in time.
25:22I need your help.
25:23Now to understand my own self and life.
25:27And the effects of sin.
25:28And how truth will root all that out of my own life.
25:32Lord, please.
25:33Do that.
25:34For Jesus' sake.
25:36I don't know what kind of prayers you make.
25:37But get down to earth.
25:40You know?
25:42Never mind all this so-called religious business.
25:45Get on with the business of life and living.
25:47To honor God.
25:49In Jesus' reveal the truth.
25:52Well, as we noted already.
25:53About life, living, and death, and so forth.
25:55He can't escape it.
25:57Notice his actions here.
25:59Verse 35.
26:00Teaching in their synagogues.
26:02Preaching the gospel.
26:03There's a slight difference between them.
26:05Preaching is simply declaring what God has said.
26:08Announcing it.
26:09Heralding it.
26:09It's like blowing a horn or something.
26:11You know?
26:11Do-do-do-do.
26:12Everybody listen up.
26:14Whatever the case may be.
26:15But yeah.
26:16Get the picture there.
26:17And so he comes and he declares.
26:18Well, again, just a very familiar scripture, I suppose.
26:23How he began his whole work in ministry in Mark chapter 1.
26:28I'll just read a couple of verses out of there concerning the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.
26:33He says this in Mark 1, verse 14.
26:35Now, after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee preaching the gospel.
26:42So, picture you now going into Winnipeg or Somerset or someplace, some town.
26:47And what are you doing?
26:48Oh, you're making known the gospel of Jesus Christ.
26:52I don't know.
26:53Maybe that occurs.
26:53Maybe it doesn't.
26:54But here, his whole life then about truth.
26:57Jesus came into Galilee preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God.
27:01And everybody has all kinds of opinions about the kingdom of God.
27:04But in essence, it's basically, simply God rules.
27:10He's the sovereign one.
27:11He makes all the decisions.
27:15Anyway.
27:18Verse 15, saying, the time is fulfilled.
27:21The kingdom of God is at hand.
27:24What happens?
27:25Jesus goes to the cross.
27:27He dies, rises from the dead, sends on high into heaven.
27:30The spirit of God comes, opens up the many hearts,
27:36converted to the Lord Jesus Christ.
27:37If you want to use that kind of language.
27:39But what happens?
27:40They see, then, the kingdom of God is ruling in their own hearts.
27:45Through the power of the spirit of God.
27:47The local congregation.
27:49The local gathering of God's people.
27:51The manifestation of that community.
27:53Through the spirit of God and his truth.
27:55The word.
27:57The ultimate coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
27:59The consummation, as they put it.
28:01The final opening up of everything in terms of the kingdom of God.
28:05In a way that this is big separation between hell and heaven.
28:11Anyway.
28:12He just comes and says, it's here.
28:16Now, that's a free translation, I realize.
28:18Saying, the time is fulfilled.
28:20The kingdom of God is at hand.
28:22Repent.
28:24What should I do about all this, Jesus?
28:26Repent.
28:27Change your ways.
28:28But I can't.
28:29That's true.
28:31So, Lord, please help me.
28:33You see?
28:35And believe the gospel.
28:40Say, Lord, help me.
28:41So, he's educating in terms of the truth.
28:43And what he's saying in teaching.
28:45Here.
28:45And the further extension is.
28:47The healing that were manifest.
28:49Which he's touched upon earlier there.
28:50In verse.
28:51Earlier.
28:52In verse 35 of Matthew 9.
28:55So, he reveals the truth.
28:58And so forth.
28:59Maybe one other observation here.
29:01Very quickly.
29:02Is that Jesus expelled.
29:03Troublesome Elements.
29:05And that has to do with the healing aspects there.
29:07That he does.
29:10And it's stated in verse 35.
29:12But in a greater way.
29:13Well, I don't know if greater.
29:14But anyway.
29:15He expresses concern for our needs.
29:18Notice verse 36.
29:20He saw the multitudes.
29:21He's moved with compassion.
29:24What happens?
29:26He sends forth these disciples.
29:29But before all that occurs.
29:31What does he say?
29:31Verse 38.
29:32Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest.
29:35Lord, there are many needs.
29:37There is much evil in the world.
29:39There is much transgression.
29:40It seems like Satan has a stranglehold on the entire humanity.
29:47Show mercy upon us.
29:49Raise up those that honor thee in thought and word and deed.
29:54Send them forth if it so pleased thee.
29:57That's exactly what the disciples were doing, right?
29:59And they had it all wrong.
30:00You know, until the spirit shows up in Acts chapter 2.
30:04Same with us.
30:06How do you know what to say?
30:07How do you know what to speak?
30:08Oh, we must be relevant.
30:09That's bunk.
30:11You want to be truly relevant?
30:13Speak of the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
30:16What are people going to tell you?
30:17I don't understand it.
30:18I don't get it.
30:20Well, no, he does.
30:21But God did it.
30:22And you speak the truth.
30:24You relay the word of God.
30:25What did I always say?
30:26And I'll say it again.
30:28Don't believe me.
30:30Believe God.
30:32The response will rest upon you.
30:34You're thinking.
30:35He calls us to repent.
30:37Lord, open my heart to your truth.
30:39That I might truly magnify your name through Jesus Christ.
30:45Let's pray.
30:45Father, we thank you for your word.
30:47And may it be effectual in the lives of many through the power of thy spirit.
30:50Through the glory of Christ our Savior.
30:53For it is precious and holy name we pray.
30:56Amen.
