00:01Oh, my God.
00:02Previously on Seven Little Johnstons.
00:05I just see a man in a cop uniform.
00:07Oh, my God.
00:09Oh, dear God, don't take her clothes off.
00:14What's all this, Mom?
00:15Making like a care package for Nana.
00:18Nana was diagnosed with metastatic cancer.
00:20She is in a nursing home under hospice care.
00:23And at the hospital, Nana said that she
00:26does not want to treat it.
00:28We hope and pray and wish for comfort for Nana.
00:30That's all we can do.
00:34Apparently, my dress has been pushed further out.
00:37What's the date now?
00:38Like, middle of October.
00:40OK, well, that will not work.
00:42Our wedding is the first week of November,
00:45which is definitely not enough time for me
00:47to be able to get alterations done on the dress.
00:50So yeah, I'm freaking out.
01:06We're only a yard or two away from the gold.
01:10Bapu, you got fat erasers?
01:13What are you doing?
01:14My wedding guest sign for people to sign.
01:17This is like our guest book.
01:18We're about a month away from the wedding,
01:20and there are a lot of projects going on.
01:23I am working on our wedding guest book.
01:26I thought it would be cool for us to have something to hang.
01:30Why not?
01:31I'm kind of an artiste.
01:34I got a project for us to do here in a little bit.
01:36It's an activity that I saw on social media.
01:40Is it a fun activity?
01:42Yeah.
01:43Not long ago, I was scrolling through social media,
01:45and I see these little videos of couples
01:49doing portraits of one another.
01:52Oh, wow.
01:53You're like all for real about this.
01:55And I thought, you know what?
01:56Elizabeth's working on her guest book,
01:58and she's very artistic.
01:59So this is a great time to test out our artistic abilities.
02:04Come on, guys.
02:05One second.
02:06Alex and I both lack artistic ability.
02:09So we knew that we're just going to be the team players,
02:13and we're going to give it our best shot,
02:15because we know we both suck.
02:17Me and Mom are going to paint each other.
02:21Jonah and Alex are going to paint each other.
02:24Bryce and Elizabeth are going to paint a mural of each other.
02:28And then Emma is going to paint a mural of Layton.
02:31I am a little sad no one's doing me.
02:33We'll have to wait until Layton gets older
02:36to see her artistic abilities.
02:38All right.
02:40Everybody have fun.
02:42There's no such thing as messing up.
02:51Now, all my sun blisters on my lips,
02:53you don't have to paint those.
02:54Don't be telling me what I need to be painting and what I don't.
02:57We just went fishing last weekend,
02:59and my lips were so boring.
03:01I had to put that.
03:02It was in the moment.
03:11See, I'm more of a draftsman or pencil sketch.
03:13I am not a painter.
03:15I can paint some walls.
03:17I don't get anxiety.
03:18But for some reason, I got, like, a major anxiety.
03:21Like, I can't botch this, and I can't ruin this.
03:24I saw Jonah over there, just like, whoosh, whoosh.
03:27And then I see Amber over there, like...
03:31And now it tastes like backfist and a paintbrush.
03:36I just couldn't have fun with it.
03:38I don't know why.
03:38This is my activity, and I wanted to have a good time,
03:40but it was hard.
03:43So the wedding dress, we are going to go pick it up from the shop
03:49and take it to the seamstress.
03:52Yes.
03:53Since the dress I ordered is delayed for another month,
03:56we decided to just buy the floor model.
03:59But I'm still pretty nervous about getting alterations done
04:03since we only have about a month left for the wedding.
04:07All right, is everybody finished?
04:08Yes.
04:09Hold your canvas and lower your easel.
04:11We don't want to knock over easels or wake up the baby.
04:15No, I think, do we go one at a time, or...?
04:17One at a time, y'all.
04:18Oh, yeah.
04:18One, two, three.
04:20Oh, my God.
04:21Ted, you didn't even...
04:23Good God.
04:24You didn't even...
04:25I got stuck.
04:26Hair's perfect.
04:27I didn't want to botch it up.
04:29And you gave me my sore lips.
04:32Hi, my name's Trent.
04:35I used to downwind of a dairy farm
04:37with some mighty on my face.
04:41I'm Amber, and I'm very hollow.
04:47This is awful.
04:50Jonah and Alex.
04:51One, two...
04:53What happened to the nose?
04:56I rolled in dirt.
04:59My name is Jonah, and what I lack in smell, I gain significantly in hair growth and eyes.
05:09Wow, that's pretty good, Jonah.
05:10My hair looks pretty good.
05:12I love that.
05:13I just painted blue over it.
05:15Softens everything up.
05:17Um, I think this looks like a pretty good portrait of me.
05:19Like, all the details are there, and I like how he did the brushed pattern with it.
05:24So, yeah, I would say this just looks...
05:25This looks really good.
05:27Let's see Leighton.
05:28I didn't finish it.
05:30Okay, let's see.
05:31Let's start it.
05:36So, I had a photo on my phone, and it was her in the bathtub, and there's bubbles on her
05:43head,
05:44and bubbles around her.
05:45It looks like she's, uh, she's spreading laces, like, taking poop or something.
05:49She's in the bath, and it's bubbles.
05:52Oh, I thought those were angel wings and a halo.
05:53Oh, I thought it was, like, angel.
05:54I really didn't know what to say.
05:56I just didn't see Leighton at all.
06:00She was obviously missing the water in the bathtub, so it looks like my child is taking
06:05pretty much a turn in heaven.
06:11I went a different route, because I cannot paint people.
06:18I can't paint people, and I painted the next best thing.
06:22Hey, I mean, I love deer.
06:24Is it wearing a bra?
06:25No, it's sunglasses.
06:27Her painting I loved because it was deer, and I loved deer hunting.
06:31Even though it wasn't me.
06:32It was.
06:33It had your hat and glasses on.
06:34Yeah, I'm saying even though, like, it wasn't my face, it was me.
06:40I'm a damn Lego with some fat-ass Kim Kardashian lips.
06:43My name is Elizabeth, and I had too much caffeine and too much Botox.
06:48Was this fun, everybody?
06:50Yes, it was.
06:51This turned out to be a really fun activity for the family.
06:55It definitely did give us a break from wedding planning, but we still have a lot of work to do
07:01in
07:02a short amount of time.
07:03All right, everybody, pass your paint.
07:06Emma's painting would definitely give late nightmares.
07:10They say that comeback is stronger than the setback.
07:13Well, ain't correct, I speak the truth, then I spit facts.
07:15Big whacks, what I stack, ain't no chit-chat.
07:18I'm on the move, making moves till my hip snaps.
07:20Off-rightest, propping from all nightest.
07:22Kicking nothing but fire, but I don't mean palm lightest.
07:24You going for that 100-yard mark, or you going for the cart?
07:28I was trying to hit the cart guy.
07:29How are you?
07:30It's good to see you.
07:31Good to see you.
07:32Oh, well, how about yourself?
07:33That's what I got.
07:35Ooh, presents.
07:36Presents.
07:38He came in the other day.
07:40Today, I'm meeting my friend Rance, and he is a competitive golfer in the Adaptive Golf League.
07:47Rance has played golf with Jonah and I, and our other group of little people that meet up every
07:52year in Myrtle Beach, and he has seen many of us play golf with clubs that I have modified and
07:58adapted for little people.
07:59I like this branding.
08:00How do you like that?
08:01Yeah, that's nice.
08:02Boppers Golf is getting a little bit of traction.
08:04Yeah, yeah.
08:06For maybe five years now, I have been building golf clubs and adapting golf clubs for little people.
08:13I started my Boppers Golf business about two years ago.
08:17Jonah said, Dad, no pun intended, but what we're doing for little people is a very small market.
08:21We need to be doing this for everybody in our community.
08:24And I said, you know, that's a great idea, and that's how we started.
08:28How long have you had these?
08:30About 15 years.
08:32Are you serious?
08:32Yeah.
08:33So the clubs I play with are about 15 years old.
08:36I got them when I was in high school, but they are kids clubs, which are essentially
08:42clubs made for kids and then cut down to my size.
08:46They're actually not conforming for the PGA.
08:50They're not allowing them?
08:51They're so old, they're like actually outdated.
08:55So where do you play in the tour?
08:57So when I was in the tournament for the USGA qualifier, I played with some ladies clubs.
09:03That's not good.
09:04Yeah, that didn't go so well.
09:06Let me see you hit that.
09:07Yeah.
09:08How does that weight feel?
09:09It's a little light, because literally I didn't do anything to them.
09:12They're just junior clubs, got them cut.
09:15This was the length that was comfortable for me.
09:19What are you pushing, 110, 115?
09:21Uh, yeah, about 115.
09:24So the thing about kids clubs, they're made for kids.
09:27And yes, I am about the size of a 12-year-old.
09:32However, my build, my muscles, my physique are not childlike.
09:41Now, you see you're getting a little whipped, because you're not as straight right now.
09:45After seeing Rance hit, I have a really good idea of what he's looking for.
09:50I really hope Rance will be happy with these clubs that I recommended.
09:54Ta-da!
10:03Hey, Funko Alex, take your pictures, ladybug.
10:05So I'm taking a photography class this semester, and one of my assignments is to take portraits.
10:12Yeah, Bubba, you just set up, and then you just hit the button whenever you hit.
10:16Yeah, no, I'm ready.
10:16This is my first time taking portraits with my camera.
10:19And the main things I like taking pictures of are just, like, really inanimate objects.
10:24They're just very easy to take pictures of, because they stand still.
10:30Hey, Leighton, you want to come see the flowers?
10:33Look at the flowers!
10:35I decided to pick Leighton to be the subject of my portraits, because Leighton is about to turn two.
10:41I could go ahead and take her two-year-old photos for this assignment.
10:44And then, but I know Mom and Liz are definitely going to have a lot of opinions about my pictures,
10:49so I'm a little nervous.
10:50Oh, that's really good.
10:55It's the matter, Leigh, bub.
10:56Maybe she's freaked out by the painted pumpkin over there.
11:01Last year, we stripped Leighton naked and put her in a pumpkin.
11:05Leighton!
11:08Oh, this is so sad.
11:11That was a fail.
11:16She absolutely hated it.
11:17So this year, she will be fully clothed, and she's older and understands, you know,
11:22what it means to have her picture taken.
11:24Ladybug!
11:25There she is!
11:28Are you going to take her past you?
11:30I'm working on it.
11:31I think the best way to make a toddler smile for a photo is, like,
11:35do something that the toddler likes to make him smile.
11:38Yeah, do the sneezing.
11:46Leighton's been obsessed with us just sneezing.
11:50All right, sneeze.
11:51Do it, do it.
11:57I guess I could just sneeze all day for Leighton.
12:01You want to hold that?
12:03It's pretty crazy that we will have a two-year-old being our little flower girl walking down
12:09the aisle for our wedding day.
12:11Alex, you come this way.
12:13All right, sneeze, Emma.
12:16Let's jump.
12:18Alex, try to zoom in close.
12:20Yeah, get close.
12:22Or, no, you can get there, but just zoom in.
12:26There.
12:27Leighton.
12:28Keep going.
12:29Just keep going.
12:29Keep doing it.
12:30Keep doing it.
12:30There's a lot of opinions and help coming my way, but in the end, I'm just going to do what
12:36I need
12:36to do to get these pictures right.
12:38She's just walking.
12:39Leighton.
12:40Go towards her.
12:43Leighton.
12:44Leighton.
12:44Do it, do it.
12:45Oh, crap.
12:46She's moving quick.
12:48Leighton.
12:50Woo-hoo.
12:57Ta-da.
12:59These are sick.
13:01Yeah.
13:02All right, let's stay with what you've been hitting.
13:04There's your 7-iron.
13:05Yeah.
13:05Rance is a mutual friend of mine and Jonah's, and he is an extremely good golfer, but Rance
13:11is still playing the same set of junior golf clubs that he's had for a little over 15 years, and
13:15I am
13:16confident that I can improve Rance's golf game with a new set of clubs.
13:20Man, I'm hype about these.
13:23I know they're a little long.
13:24They're four to five inches too long.
13:26It's crazy, Trent, because I've been going to the Taylor all my life, but I never went to the Taylor
13:31for my golf clubs.
13:33All my life, I've had to adapt, whether it's going to the Taylor, pedal extenders for my car,
13:39stepladders around my apartment, and so I'm super excited to be fitted with a new set
13:44just for me, tailored down to my specifications to play my best golf.
13:53With this length?
13:54That length club right now.
13:56It's a little tricky.
13:57When Rance started swinging those full-size clubs, it's taking more energy out of him to swing this
14:04club to make it work, and if you're having to do that while you're competing in a tour match,
14:10I mean, by the 10th or 11th hole, you're gassed.
14:14I think with these clubs, getting them fitted for me, that'll shave five strokes off my handicap.
14:21Whether we're playing with little people or we're playing with our average-sized friends,
14:24we want to be equal, and playing golf as a little person with average-sized clubs is just
14:33it's not a level playing field.
14:35I've built a lot of clubs for little people,
14:36but I want to build clubs for you to watch you advance your game.
14:40Thank you. I'm excited.
14:41I'm really thankful that I have earned Rance's business, but modifying and adapting these clubs
14:47for Rance will take some time. And in the meantime, I still have other things that I have to do
14:52at home to get ready for this wedding.
14:54My brother. Good to see you.
14:57Let me try to do my magic, man.
15:01Layton!
15:02Layton!
15:03Oh crap.
15:03He's moving quick.
15:04He's going to mom.
15:05Alex is breaking his sweat over here.
15:07I'm taking a photography class, and for my assignment, I have to practice taking portraits,
15:11and I figured Layton would be a really good model.
15:15There we go.
15:16Layton!
15:17Get it kind of close in, Alex.
15:19You want to come a little more in front?
15:22All right, get ready, Alex.
15:23I'm ready.
15:23Get ready, Emma, fast.
15:25When you're taking pictures of a baby or a toddler, you have just got to stay on the person
15:32and your finger on the button to just keep going, keep going.
15:35Yeah, go ahead and get it.
15:37Well, she's turning her head, so I don't know.
15:38Ladybug!
15:40Layton!
15:41Do you all feel that sometimes your mom might have too many opinions when it comes to doing
15:46photo shoots?
15:47My mom definitely has years upon years of experience.
15:51I've grown up with family portraits, pictures.
15:55Sit back a little bit, Trent.
15:57Jonah, scoot over just a little and up some.
16:01Now, like, soften the smiles just natural, like you just farted.
16:06She definitely knows what works, and she doesn't want to spend all day trying to
16:09catch a good shot, so the way that she does it seems to work out pretty well.
16:14Layton!
16:14Layton!
16:18She's over the sneezing.
16:19Yeah, I think she's just done.
16:21Well, you want to do mine?
16:22Yeah, we can do yours.
16:23So taking the portraits of, like, older people is definitely easier.
16:26You don't have to, like, sneeze to make the, like, older person laugh.
16:30They can just smile on command, and, like, they can sit still.
16:33Versus Layton's kind of, like, all over the place, and you kind of have to make her,
16:36like, giggle in order to get her to smile.
16:38I mean, I'm all set in terms of my project, because, I mean, he only said I needed,
16:42I think, 24, and I got plenty of those.
16:45So I think the photo shoot went pretty well overall, but I am kind of nervous to see how the
16:50photos turned out.
16:52I hope I got some good ones, but I will find out soon.
16:55I hope you get extra points for how cute your niece is.
16:58I'll try.
17:00Bye.
17:13Oh, my Lord.
17:15Where can we hang these funny things?
17:16We're not hanging them anywhere.
17:19They need to be able to be put away.
17:22I look terrifying.
17:24Why do we want to look at that?
17:27I'll put you over here.
17:28Layton's going to come in here and be like, aww.
17:33I definitely don't think that the portraits set a sexy, romantic mood, but, you know,
17:40if you can't laugh with each other, what can you do?
17:44At least I gave you good hair.
17:47Em was talking to me.
17:49She didn't want to be the maid of honor because she didn't want to have to give a speech.
17:52But what she does want to do for her is give her a surprise bridal shower.
17:59Earlier this week, Emma and I discussed having a surprise bridal shower for Elizabeth.
18:06First thing we need to do.
18:07Invitations.
18:08Invitations.
18:09What are you thinking for food?
18:12Five-finger foods.
18:13Emma wants to have it at Honeywood Farms.
18:16So the theme is she's off the market and it's got, you know, like, floral market-y type thing,
18:23but bringing in the bridal twist to it that she's getting married.
18:28And then the flower mark.
18:30We have a lot to do.
18:32Yeah.
18:33So she didn't want all that other responsibility, but she's going to play in that bridal shower?
18:36Well, it's, that's smaller.
18:38Is it really a surprise or is Elizabeth going to know on the side?
18:42Hopefully it's a surprise.
18:43Emma hasn't always been great at keeping secrets,
18:46but hopefully she can this time so Elizabeth doesn't find out about it.
18:52So, upcoming wedding projects that, you know, we've kind of...
18:57We have a list.
18:58We haven't started our list.
18:59We haven't put off, but we've waited.
19:00Which is flagstones at the pavilion, grading the ground area where the ceremony is going to be,
19:07grass seeds, sod.
19:10Trying to have this ever-growing list of things that have to get done.
19:15And it's not that he has dropped the ball, but, you know,
19:19I am afraid that he's going to run out of time to complete everything on the list.
19:25I'm going to need probably at least three or four Saturdays where all of us, Bryce,
19:32not all day long, but we get down there for a good four or five hours and
19:37try to bang out some of that work.
19:38Yeah.
19:39My goal still is to get everything ready, ready to go two weeks before the wedding.
19:43Yeah.
19:44That sure is a big wedding list.
19:45I have to do just for some people that's already been down here and been around this house and...
19:49Well, you keep expanding the list.
19:51What did I expand?
19:53Flagstones was not a Elizabeth thing, it was not an Amber thing.
19:57It was a, you want it to look more fancier and...
20:01Not more fancy, I want it to be nice.
20:03Yeah.
20:04All right, let's go to bed.
20:06Good night.
20:07Good night.
20:08I love you.
20:08Love you.
20:09That kiss came from that guy right there.
20:11Just luckily it doesn't look as horrifying.
20:25Hello?
20:27Hey.
20:28Hey.
20:28What are you all doing?
20:29We're just working on schoolwork and just checking up on our grades and all that.
20:33I'm getting ready to turn in the driveway.
20:34Okay.
20:35Take a break and meet me outside down at the chicken coop.
20:38Oh, gosh.
20:39Grab the tall step ladder.
20:41I know it's weird, but bring that to the chicken coop.
20:44Okay, we will.
20:45Bye.
20:46Are we getting more chickens?
20:47I don't think mom would be too happy if we got more chickens, but...
20:49Ha.
20:50Do you want to go get the ladder?
20:52Yeah, I will.
20:53I have no idea why dad wants us to meet him down by the chicken coop.
20:58Dad hated the idea of getting chickens.
21:01We are thinking about getting chickens.
21:04I don't touch the chickens.
21:05I don't touch, I don't touch either.
21:06But you are going to help build the coop.
21:09Yeah.
21:10And he wasn't happy a couple weeks ago with all the wedding planning going on.
21:15We got four chickens anyways.
21:18Wow, he's big.
21:20The names of the chickens are Kevin, Betty, Donnie, and Fizzy.
21:25I was really not on the fence for chickens.
21:27I was actually against the fence.
21:29And then we get the chickens.
21:31Call me soft, call me whatever you want.
21:33I got on board.
21:35Have they laid any eggs yet or no?
21:38Whoa, wow.
21:41Oh my gosh.
21:54Whoa, wow.
21:56My gosh.
21:57I have called Alex and Emma for both of them to meet me outside at the chicken coop,
22:03because I have a surprise for them.
22:08Dad got a new coop.
22:10It's quite the upgrade.
22:11It's a lot bigger than this.
22:13Yeah, no kidding.
22:14And it's already built.
22:15So we have to build it.
22:17Wow.
22:18I think it's funny how dad was super against the chickens at first.
22:22Now he just started to go by a McMansion for them.
22:25So we're able to like walk in this coop.
22:27Yeah.
22:28And I asked him when he built it if he could make the egg box lower.
22:33I was thinking about you.
22:34And I know you kind of sort of didn't really like the cheap coop.
22:37So you want to unload it?
22:39I think it's cool that dad is opening up to the idea of us having chickens.
22:43One, two, three.
22:44I like how you can just walk right into this chicken coop,
22:47because it'll make feeding them a lot easier.
22:49I thought we would need a ladder to reach in here,
22:51but I don't think we will.
22:53I didn't like Emma's little chicken coop.
22:55I didn't.
22:56I'm not like a tree hugger, and I eat oatmeal six times a day,
23:00and love every animal on this earth.
23:02But I think this one will be much easier for Emma,
23:05and much more comfortable for Kevin and the girls.
23:09I hope all of them like this new chicken coop.
23:13Do you have a favorite yet?
23:14No, I don't really have a favorite.
23:17Wow.
23:19Yeah.
23:19Yeah.
23:20Do you like this?
23:21Yeah.
23:23All right, we have one more task.
23:24Now it's time for us to wrangle up these chickens into the new coop.
23:27Come on.
23:28Emma, squat down.
23:34Let's talk about the chicken's personalities.
23:37I think Kevin is Emma's favorite.
23:39No.
23:40Kevin, go that way.
23:42Oh, God.
23:43Let's talk about Kevin, that bastard.
23:45Kevin, come here.
23:46Y'all get in there.
23:47Kevin is the most annoying.
23:49He cock-a-doodle-doos in the middle of the day.
23:53Alice, get closer.
23:53Get closer.
23:54There we go.
23:54All right, now shut the door.
23:55Shut the door.
23:56Shut the door.
23:56Shut the door.
23:57Kevin is constantly, like, cock-a-doodle-dooing every time I go outside.
24:01Keep going this way.
24:04He makes a lot of noise, and he's just not very nice.
24:08Look.
24:08Kevin, you're home.
24:12I think they're happy.
24:15I actually need these chickens to help me out for an assignment,
24:18so I hope this new coop makes them happy.
24:23All right, let's go eat dinner.
24:28Babe, tuxes are here.
24:30So I just picked up the tuxes from these seamstress,
24:33and the guys definitely need to try them on to make sure that the links that the seamstress took off
24:40work and, uh, you know, fit.
24:46What size were your pants?
24:48You can't fit them.
24:49You can't button them?
24:50I can't like that.
24:52Did you guys try these on at the...
24:55Yes.
24:56So, you know, trend steps out in the tux, and it's tight.
24:59Dad definitely looks a little, like, tight in the tux.
25:02Sometimes when you hem the legs, it reduces the waist.
25:05It does not.
25:07Can you button that?
25:09It's a little short.
25:11It looks like you're about to, like, Hulk out, like the Incredible Hulk.
25:15What about this?
25:17I gotta undo these.
25:19Oh, my God.
25:21I feel like you can't really move much at all.
25:23If he goes like this, I feel like he's gonna pop all the buttons in the shirt.
25:26I think something just happened between then and now.
25:30I'd probably put it on a little weight.
25:31Yeah.
25:33Maybe if I go pee or take a poop.
25:36These tuxes are not rented.
25:38They have bought, and there is no returning them because we have had to have them altered to fit us.
25:44Yeah, because it's too late to, like, start the process over.
25:47The only way this tux is gonna fit is for me to lose some weight and slim down.
25:52If I change my diet and I eat healthy, I think I can shed the weight quick.
25:57I mean, yeah, knock off my chicken biscuits or my breakfast burritos.
26:01His goal is to walk me down the aisle, so he needs to fit in this suit.
26:06Here, I'll get my suit.
26:07Please have some faith in me that you can fit yours.
26:10I should be able to.
26:11I don't think I've gained any weight.
26:12I've been the conscious.
26:13If you don't, y'all are all going in sweatsuits, a sauna, a sauna.
26:16Oh, I could do a sweatsuit.
26:18So we all got a little bit nervous about my tux because we were scared that it's gonna run small
26:22on me.
26:23But when I put on my tux, the shirt fit perfect.
26:25The pants were perfect.
26:27Everything just fit me perfectly.
26:30Oh, yeah.
26:31Liz, I have to show you the pictures that I took at the pumpkin patch of Layton.
26:35Oh.
26:36Yeah, and I have a portrait of you too, Ma.
26:38Oh, wow.
26:40So I looked at the pictures that we took at the pumpkin patch and they all came out really good.
26:44So I had some portraits being on some canvases.
26:47So here's Layton.
26:50See, that was my favorite one.
26:52Layton looks beautiful.
26:54Alex did a wonderful job.
26:56It was a great two-year-old photo.
26:58I was very happy.
26:59Y'all could hang that up in your house.
27:01That is so cute.
27:03That's adorable.
27:04And here's your portrait, Ma.
27:06Alex did a great job.
27:08He really was very patient with Layton especially because it took her a while to warm up.
27:13And then here and there, he would be, you know, taking some pictures of me.
27:19That looks nice.
27:21Oh, who is that?
27:21Hey, look.
27:22Oh my goodness.
27:24Is that a baby?
27:26That looks good.
27:27Perfect that you're in here, Emma.
27:28I have one more to show y'all.
27:31I got this made too.
27:32That's pretty sexy.
27:34That can go in your dating app.
27:36I was very surprised that I got a portrait.
27:39I totally forgot that.
27:40I did that.
27:42I mean, that is how Emma typically looks.
27:45So, I mean, why not have it on a canvas?
27:48You did very good, Alex.
27:49They're all very good.
27:51I'm glad we got to see what you look like in your suit.
27:54At least Alex's tux fits him, but I have about a month to try to slim down to fit mine.
28:02Dad, good luck to you.
28:03I can't believe that thing is that tight on me.
28:22I'm taking a psychology class and I have a project on animal behavior.
28:27I've been working with the chickens, observing them and trying to train them on different things.
28:41I've made some progress and I'm going to show the family how they do and they better step it up.
28:49So, what have you been able to get the chickens to do?
28:51Um, to come to me, to eat out of my hands.
28:56Show us.
28:57Yeah.
29:06So, having the chicken eat out of your hand, that's good, but very entry level.
29:11Oh, did you get him to do the xylophone?
29:14Yeah.
29:14Yeah.
29:15Now, playing the xylophone, that's a trick and I would give him a props if she were to have them
29:21learn that.
29:24Look at that.
29:28It's playing the xylophone.
29:30If you could train a chicken to do anything, what would you train it to do?
29:34Have it use the restroom in a specific area, so that way poop is not everywhere.
29:42I'm not really going to make it do anything crazy, just eat the mosquitoes so I don't get dead.
29:46Catching fish with his beak.
29:49Twerk.
29:54Yeah.
29:55Train the chicken to talk, as everybody loves, like, when birds talk.
29:59It'd be pretty cool if I, every time I go down the hill, Kevin would shout out,
30:02What's up, Trent?
30:03Yeah.
30:05Bryce, let's see your mad chicken whisperer skills.
30:09Yeah, Mr. Animal Lover.
30:10Yeah.
30:12I think you can catch them.
30:14Come on.
30:15I would grab a chicken just to show everybody I can do it.
30:19I'll probably catch all four of them.
30:22Get it!
30:26Look at him, he's looking at you like, that's all you got, though?
30:28Come on, dear hunter.
30:32Chickens are hard to catch.
30:34And if they're not familiar with you, you're at a severe disadvantage.
30:37But Bryce, too, typically is a pretty cautious individual.
30:42I know from watching Emma, you can't be real cautious.
30:45You just...
30:47Can you hunt chickens like you do turkeys?
30:51All right, I'm done.
30:54I just didn't have a lot of speed with my boots on, but...
30:57You blame me your shoes, really?
31:00All right.
31:01Nice job, Emma.
31:03I mean, they played the xylophone, so that's one thing.
31:06That's an improvement.
31:07First time ever.
31:08And they got your hands.
31:09It's hard working with chickens, so hopefully I get a good grade.
31:12But I don't think I'm going to be training these chickens anymore.
31:16I mean, they need a break, and I need a break.
31:18For sure.
31:20Yeah, they're done.
31:21Peace.
31:21Bye-bye.
31:34Hi.
31:35Hi.
31:36Did you just get home?
31:37Yes.
31:38I heard you're making coffee.
31:39Working on Nana's stuff?
31:41Yeah.
31:41In order to start the Medicaid process, we have to have a QIT,
31:46which is a Qualified Income Trust Fund.
31:49Nana's health is declining quickly.
31:51And on top of everything that we have going on at home and all the projects that I have
31:56in my to-do list, I still have Nana to take care of.
32:00I have to get the trust set up.
32:02And I'm reading right now if we can do it before we go hiring an attorney.
32:08Right now, I'm the power of attorney.
32:09So anything that may be mistakenly done unwilling will fall on you.
32:14Come back on me.
32:16I am doing my best to oversee all of her affairs.
32:19And at times, it's overwhelming.
32:21At times, it's a lot.
32:22Maybe not physically, but mentally.
32:24And there are times when I have to pause and just reset in order to be successful and to do
32:30things the right way.
32:31As it stands right now, your mom, five months into the nursing home, she is not eating because the pain
32:39and things like that.
32:40As much as you're able to prepare for a terminal illness like Nana's, it's still hard to watch your mom,
32:48your Nana go through this process.
32:50Smile pretty.
32:51Any time they come is wonderful.
32:54That's my life in there, you know.
32:57Happy birthday to you.
33:06These final days are, they're challenging.
33:10Between trying to do this, trying to get ready for the wedding, trying to keep good spirits for the wedding.
33:18It's just stressful right now.
33:22As much as I want Elizabeth's wedding to happen and play out just as she has wished,
33:31I just need to step back, focus on Nana, handle some of her affairs.
33:35That way, I could get back to my to-do list for the wedding.
33:41We're figuring it out.
33:43The best I can.
34:03There is an incredible amount of work to get done down in the field before the wedding.
34:08And we are finally getting started on that process.
34:12Right now, we are a quarter of the way through.
34:15This is 24 feet long by 20 feet wide.
34:17We're going to do another 24 by 20 out there.
34:20We have a list of about six big projects that we have to do.
34:26The biggest project and probably the longest time-consuming project is the flagstones at the pavilion.
34:32And just because it don't go there perfect, you might have to turn one of these others to-
34:37Good job.
34:38Oh yeah, that's a good one.
34:39For the wedding, the pavilion is going to be where all the food is.
34:44So we really paid a lot of attention to make sure we didn't have too many small pieces in an
34:49area,
34:50but used the larger pieces to cover that ground and to make more of a level spot.
35:03It has been quite a while since everyone in the family has come together to work on a project.
35:10Come on, Dad, you're wasting time with that one little screw.
35:13My butt is not stuck.
35:15What are you doing?
35:15I have to get over to this part.
35:18Her butt's stuck.
35:19Whatever you do, don't let it go through that window.
35:27We're not, we're not doing this. We're not.
35:29When we have these major projects going on, sometimes it can turn into a crap show, honestly.
35:35You have to look out here and find a spot and then look up here and find a stone.
35:39And don't always grab the small piece.
35:41This is just another big project. And of course, when we have Dad, some of us are going to get
35:48yelled at.
35:49Walk step-by-step on how we're going to do this. We're not winging it.
35:52So that means you have to stop talking.
35:54These six posts will turn into something by the time Thanksgiving hit.
35:59Something that we can use?
36:00It could turn into a joyful family Thanksgiving, or it could turn into a divorce.
36:03I really might rather shoveling now, especially if we're going to be standing on stools doing this on not level
36:10ground.
36:11There's nowhere on that machine that it says, do not stand on stools.
36:15It's called common sense.
36:16Since this project is for our wedding, I'm just going to keep my mouth shut and keep working.
36:22Papa's coming in with another one. Watch out.
36:23My belly's going to be orange after this carry right here.
36:28There you go. Go.
36:29I think I should have seen my t-shirt this morning.
36:31For real?
36:32Yeah.
36:33It just used to be my belly.
36:34But now my boobs have gone down.
36:36Like a damn oregano.
36:38It's almost like that.
36:39So Liz has a strategy.
36:41If you distract your father or kind of like walk around and look like you're busy,
36:44he won't really notice that you're not doing anything?
36:46No. I would have to disagree with Elizabeth. That's a false strategy. He knows how to decipher
36:51BS from real work.
36:54We're going to need about three more loads of dirt.
36:56You're dumping three more loads of sand?
37:00I ain't hanging for that. I am all for working on the flagstones, but I have things that I have
37:07to
37:07get done. And so Trent's on his own with this one.
37:12Do y'all know what the theme of this project is?
37:14Huh?
37:14They better live happily ever after.
37:18Yes, yes, yes.
37:26Bye.
37:32Can I go in the dressing room?
37:33Yeah.
37:34I got this part. You don't have to.
37:37I'm going to have to help you.
37:38I know I was going to zip because it's long, the thing. I don't want to trip over you.
37:41Okay.
37:42This wedding dress has been quite a journey. We found the dress. I ordered the dress. They said the
37:48dress would be here September. I check on my dress. They said the dress won't be here till middle of
37:53October. So guess what? Floor model. And here we are now to get it altered.
38:00I hope it's kind of bent so it doesn't hold. That's great. Probably because it's been stretched on a lot
38:09of people.
38:10Being in the dress again, I am still very happy with my choice. I am glad that the floor model
38:16did
38:16not sell or we would be looking for a completely different dress or moving our wedding date just
38:21to wait for my dress to come in.
38:23Okay. Is it ready for me?
38:25Yeah.
38:25She's just putting the shoes on.
38:27Oh, shoes.
38:27That's a nice dress.
38:28Yes. Thank you. Might be a lot of work for you, Miss Amy.
38:31Yes.
38:33We, of course, are seeing the one and only Amy, who has been doing all of our clothes
38:38since I was in my mother's uterus. She does all of our clothes. She does all of our formal wear.
38:43She does prom dresses. Prom dresses. She does all of it. So now this is our first wedding dress with
38:50her.
38:51So our biggest thing, you know, obviously this will be the easy part.
38:55Mm-hmm.
38:56But down here, how do we keep this?
39:00The tricky part with Elizabeth's dress is that all the way around the dress is a cut out lace.
39:10So it's not just a straight line. We want to keep that. We want to keep the overall style of
39:15the dress.
39:16Even if we made a cut here, and we brought up, like, how you do my jeans, and we brought
39:23up...
39:24Yeah. If we did that, what do you think?
39:30Yeah.
39:33Basically, what she was telling me is she doesn't want to see a line at
39:36Elizabeth's knee. And I understand. But at the same time, for Elizabeth, it was important to keep
39:43the cut out lace all the way around. Just because it's like it'll flow.
39:46I felt like it would be more noticeable if we were missing that piece than just seeing a little
39:50faded line.
39:51So your night can't keep her night here.
39:54Yeah.
39:54Cut it here.
39:55If we just cut...
39:56Cut it here, and then see if it'll be okay.
39:58What do you have to speak about this?
40:00No, just sitting here thinking.
40:01Amy is great, but it's not like a prom dress or a simple shirt or a pair of pants.
40:07It is my wedding dress. And I'm a little nervous about our communication with Ms. Amy.
40:14This underneath is straight. So this, you wouldn't have to cut through.
40:19No, I don't cut it here. Just in this one. Open it, then cut it, and then sew it together.
40:24But it'll...
40:24It'll...
40:25Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
40:27Yeah, yeah, yeah.
40:28All right.
40:29Elizabeth's kind of relying on me to communicate with Amy.
40:33It's a little bit of pressure in the sense, I just want to make sure that I am
40:38communicating exactly what Elizabeth's looking for. But I'm not 100% sure that we are all on the
40:45same page.
40:47Okay, that's it.
40:48Anything off?
40:49Yeah.
40:49Yeah.
40:50This dress is a dress that really is supposed to be the showstopper for a wedding.
40:57The tension is there on, you know, hoping and making sure that Amy understood what we are
41:03wanting for this dress.
41:04How long do you need?
41:06Three weeks.
41:08Three weeks.
41:20Three weeks.
41:21I'm sorry, because, you know, there's not a backup dress. So there's a lot riding on this dress
41:27and these alterations.
41:28Thank you very much. Bye-bye.
41:34Next time on Seven Little Johnstons.
41:37It's a surprise, right?
41:38Yes, it is.
41:39Okay, okay.
41:39There's lots of others involved.
41:41I don't think I said anything.
41:43So hopefully the secret has been kept secret.
41:47I think I see her.
41:51Holy crap.
41:53Golly, I'm out of shape.
41:55Doing something this strenuous probably is not the best idea, but this work has to be done because
42:00the wedding's not going to be put on hold.
42:02The chest is just tight.
42:04Do you have heart palpitations?
42:06Bad.
42:07Do you need to go to the ER?
42:09Is he about to pass out?
42:15Hello?
42:16The social worker wanted me to come home quick.
42:18So I made it to Nana's room.
42:21Nana just passed away about three or four minutes ago.
42:23Alex and I watched her take her last few breaths.
