00:46he's going to join his brother aj terrell who obviously has had a really really nice falcon
00:51career thus far through uh through five years or so since he was taken out of clemson obviously
00:55avion out of clemson as well let's let's hear about the other terrell brother avion terrell corner
01:02clemson big negative play after sudden change gonna help on the stop loss of 12 you don't see corners
01:08run over tight ends too often they pass protected what's avion terrell his brother's falcon standout
01:13corner aj terrell like his brother he went to west side high school before going to clemson
01:17terrell has underrated size yeah that's really really fun obviously really really cool from uh
01:24just from a story standpoint um it's going to make it you know very easy to ask him a million
01:30different questions about that and what that's going to be like i'm sure aj is very excited to
01:33have his brother on the team also and and and you know i don't want to say more importantly because
01:38all of that stuff right there is really important and that is really cool um that's a position that we
01:43talked about the falcons needing to address and i know both you and i uh had agreed that it it
01:48probably wasn't the top priority that they have that that maybe there's some other spots that you
01:52you would have thought that they would have uh tried to take care of there at 48 but corner is
01:57a spot
01:58where they they need more depth um and there's obviously more competition with avion terrell coming
02:03in in that spot you could also upgrade to like i know you had some guys that are that are
02:08thought to
02:08be the starters for the falcons next year but if he comes in and plays better than them leading into
02:12the
02:12season there's no reason you can't upgrade yeah no doubt and he's a little different uh prototype
02:17of a corner than aj is aj is more of your standard like put him on the best receiver stick
02:22to him uh
02:23avion is more of a physical guy i've seen him compared to like a devon weatherspoon in that sense
02:28uh obviously probably not as talented as witherspoon is for seattle but um just a i think a really solid
02:34pick here because of just the value that you get here i mean this is going off of dane brugler

02:39know the uh the nfl draft god um on his big board he has avion terrell as the number four

02:45cornerback so i think if you're ian cunningham i think that's kind of the uh the story of this pick
02:50is getting the best player out there just so happens to be the brother of somebody that you
02:55have on the roster which is only going to help him i think integrate into the team yeah i mean

02:58would have to think that that would be good for him to come in and and because look it's not

03:03that his brother's on the team his brother's on a pretty substantial second contract yes as a
03:09first round draft pick and like the number one corner on the team and is one of one of the
03:13best
03:14corners in in football um that's who his brother is you know it'd be one thing if his brother was
03:20just sort of like a part of the secondary and played special teams right right like aj terrell is
03:26one of the best players that the falcons have on defense uh i mean i wonder if avion terrell has
03:30like been in the building probably i mean i would assume he probably has at some point like since
03:34aj terrell's been playing you know just like on like a friend family day kind of thing so i mean
03:38he's probably familiar been to lots of games yeah oh yeah for sure yeah exactly and they're both local
03:42kids too which is really cool right they're they're from the city and uh they both went off to clemson
03:47to play in college i know michael turner was doing the uh yeah michael the bernard turner's doing
03:51the he's the uh he's the uh the franchise legend that's doing the uh draft announcement and look at
03:56that and he actually got a pronounceable name too that's so cool that's awesome oh they're
04:00together the video of the draft night they're having uh they're having a party they're having
04:04a party here in atlanta i don't know where it is but they're having a draft party here in atlanta
04:07and aj terrell and avion terrell are locked in a very serious brother embrace right there that is
04:14so cool that's crazy wow kudos to them for both not crying i don't know how that's possible i think
04:18avion terrell is he oh okay good oh he just said he doesn't have an ugly face cry got it

04:24that was me if that was me and my brother i'd be ugly face crying on tv right now and

05:18i guess early high school when aj was selected by the falcons and he just looked like such a little
05:22kid and look at that they were at the house because you know then aj wasn't in the league
05:27yeah now they're having the party like some private party at some cool place and obviously that's very
05:32fun a lot of friends and family there uh again that that's here in the city somewhere going on
05:36right now and uh he had his falcons hat ready he's got it on and um obviously we all hope
05:43that
05:43it works out as well as possible on the field but uh you know just from a feel-good standpoint
05:50it's about as good as it gets then also we talked about what a bummer it would be if he
05:54was on the
05:54board and then they didn't take him like if they would have just taken if they would have just taken
05:58some other corner and then avion trail goes on to be an all pro or something like that that would
06:02have been a huge whiff so uh i i don't think they took him just because he's aj trail's brother
06:07he's
06:07incredibly talented and that's why they took him but uh fun story also this is like the sixth
06:13first round pick for westlake high school is that right yeah because you got like uh cam uh avion
06:20and aj right a couple linemen chance warmack like they have uh um pacman jones right they have a slew
06:27of first round draft picks from one high school in atlanta that's crazy i i correct me if i'm wrong
06:32but i think the the kid that came in with the a's a couple weeks ago when it went to
06:36the high went to
06:36high school there too he plays major league baseball so yeah you want your kid to go pro send them
06:41send them to westlake a feeder to the nfl that's pretty cool i think that's where uh gordon
06:46robinson our our engineer i think his kids go there oh really or his daughter does his son did go
06:51there but yeah that's uh that's that's really fun and that's you know that's another fun part of it
06:55as well um i remember when when aj got drafted it's always really cool when local kids end up on
07:02the local team and we got a chance to to interview aj about it and meant a lot to him
07:06i'm sure he would
07:07have been great had he been drafted by the chargers or the bears or whatever team might have taken him
07:12otherwise but um you know just an extra layer of of fun when when you get to play for your
07:18hometown
07:18team as well no no doubt no doubt i think that that genuinely adds something i mean even even uh
07:23terry fontana they said you know there was georgia peach stickers that they put on their board for
07:27anybody who was from georgia or went to school in georgia so i think that's something they value i do
07:31want to note too they showed on the broadcast the falcons draft room there and obviously they're all
07:35looking very excited uh ian cunningham matt ryan um kevin stefanski was on the phone there but all
07:40glad handing with each other so they certainly seem happy there in flowery branch the first feel good
07:45story of the matt ryan yeah right yeah yeah because the rest of the story no not the first story
07:52but the
07:52first feel good story of the matt ryan era hopefully it turns out to be a really really good story

07:57well uh lee hunter another another name that we've talked a ton about gets drafted right after the
08:03falcons pick uh falcons take avion terrell from clemson lee hunter goes to the carolina panthers
08:08the kind of player that we talked about the falcons might be looking for but i don't i just don't
08:12think you can turn down a prospect like avion now don't not even putting aside all the aj terrell stuff
08:17just yeah that's a better prospect the other thing we can get into this next um we had this conversation
08:23a little bit with peter woods we had this conversation with tj parker i think avion terrell falls into the
08:28same category clemson just wasn't what it was supposed to be last year right and i think some
08:35of these these high level prospects kind of felt the impact of that yep um you know to the benefit

08:41the bills who got tj parker 35th and the falcons who got avion terrell 48th
