A 43-year-old labourer was fined RM2,000 by the Ipoh Magistrate’s Court on Friday (April 24) after pleading guilty to committing mischief by smashing a car window with a brick last Tuesday (April 21).

00:01A 43-year-old labourer was fined 2,000 ringgit by the Ipoh magistrate's court on Friday
00:07after pleading guilty to committing mischief by smashing a car window with a brick last Tuesday.
00:13Magistrate S. Punitha imposed the sentence on R. Paramswaran
00:16and ordered him to serve four months in jail if he fails to pay the fine.
00:21The offence involved damage to a car, causing about 500 ringgit in losses.
00:25It occurred at a parking area along Jalan Mustafa al-Bakri in Ipoh at around 11.40pm on April 21st.
00:33The accused had initially approached the victim offering car polishing services before later demanding payment.
00:40When the victim refused, he became aggressive and smashed the vehicle's front passenger side window with a brick.
00:46The incident also caused injury to the victim's wife before the accused fled the scene.
00:51The charge was framed under Section 427 of the Penal Code.
00:55which provides for imprisonment of up to five years, a fine or both.
