A 40-year-old Singaporean man involved in a recent road rage incident in Johor Baru was fined RM9,100 by the Johor Baru Magistrate’s Court.

Cheng Kuan Poh Colin, a human resources manager, pleaded guilty to two charges before Magistrate A. Shaarmini on Thursday (June 12).

00:15pleaded guilty to two charges before Magistrate A. Sharmini on Thursday.
00:20For the first charge, Cheng was accused of committing mischief
00:23by damaging a Malaysian-registered continental car
00:26belonging to Ng Yaomeng at Taman Suterra Utama on June 7.
00:30In the second charge, he was accused of insulting the modesty of the 32-year-old victim
00:35by spitting on his face at the same location and time.
00:39His lawyer, Norfarahin Mohamed Yazid, appealed for a lower fine,
00:44citing her client who is a first offender
00:46is the sole caregiver for his sick, bedridden parents.
00:50The court ordered Cheng to pay a fine of RM4,300 ringgit for the first offence
00:55and another RM4,800 ringgit for the second charge.
