00:00The New York Jets elect David Bailey.
00:02Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! That's my guy!
00:09That's why they moved you to Big Bucks. That's the damn pick.
00:13Sorry, I'm going, that's the freaking pick, baby!
00:17Finally, the Jets are back. The Jets are back.
00:21Kerry Rose, talk to me. How are you feeling about David Bailey,
00:25defensive end from Texas Tech?
00:27Let's go!
00:28Let's go! Finally! Finally!
00:30Yeah, I think the David Bailey pick is a really good pick.
00:33I mean, obviously, Reese looks the part. We've seen that before.
00:37We know what looking the part does.
00:38It doesn't bring the value all the time to the field.
00:41But Bailey has a motor. He has actual moves on the outside that he's consistent with.
00:47And he has counters as well.
00:49So, a defensive coach like Aaron Glenn getting a guy like that in this mix,
00:53it's going to be a big deal.
00:55So, Terry, do you think with David Bailey, people have assumed he's going to be a DPR,
01:01designated pass rusher?
01:03How, listen, with coaching, David Bailey's a strong kid.
01:07Yeah.
01:08Does he have the best technique against a run? No.
01:10Does he have trouble sometimes setting the edge?
01:11That's more coachable, more easily done than teaching a kid like Arvell how to play edge
01:17who he's never done, right?
01:17A hundred percent. Yeah, that's what I was speaking about.
01:20So, you know, he comes with the ability to have moves, but also counters already at his age,
01:27which is a big deal.
01:28Talk about the measurables.
01:30We talk about explosiveness.
01:31We talk about all these things that can translate to the pros.
01:35But a lot of times it doesn't.
01:37It takes really good coaching.
01:39Aaron Glenn's a defensive guy.
01:41He knows exactly what he's looking for with his defense.
01:44And so you bring in guys that fits that build.
01:46He fits that build.
01:47Look, they canceled the top 30 visit with David Bailey.
01:50So there was the news up.
01:51Would they go Bailey?
01:52Like, are they going away from that now?
01:54Do they know what they're getting in this guy?
01:56Do you believe in people like Carl Dunbar, who they brought back as a defensive line coach?
02:01Can they get the most out of this guy?
02:03We've seen the signings they made in the offseason with Joseph Masai,
02:06Kingsling Agabari,
02:07according to Vondre Sweat from the Tennessee Titans.
02:09They beefed up this defensive line to stop the run.
02:12But they needed a real pass rush.
02:14It feels like this is an extra piece to really help that defensive line.
02:17100%.
02:18I mean, you've got to get after the quarterback in the league to win games.
02:21You've got to stop the run to win games as well.
02:23But if you don't have a guy on the outside that can command a double team eventually,
02:28it's going to be a wash.
02:29Those are the line.
02:31Offensive linemen are really good in this league.
02:32And so to have somebody that can command a double team is huge.
02:36And I think the biggest thing with the Jets is that you want to add as many quality players as
02:40you can right now.
02:41And they're doing that right now.
02:42Look, we appreciate you hopping on.
02:46Kerry, look, it's amazing that you're here.
02:48You're a Jets fan.
02:49You see the excitement.
02:50Yeah.
02:51What does this feel like right now for you to be surrounded by a bunch of Jets fans?
02:55We've got chants going on for Fireman Ed right now.
02:57I know.
02:58First and foremost, as soon as I walked in, Fireman Ed hugged me for like 30 minutes.
03:02I had to pry my way out of there.
03:06But, no, man, when I was talking about it outside, man, I've been away for such a long time as
03:11far as like in the game.
03:14Jets, Jets, Jets.
03:16And so to be here and like still see that people have admiration or love for me in this city,
03:22in this spot, it's always special.
03:24And it's always home as well.
03:25I play with the Cardinals, obviously, but this is home.
03:28There's a soul about New York, right?
03:30It's like that blue collar, tough soul, something about it, you know?
03:33And it's just like, I know you're Kerry's Hollywood now.
03:37It's Hollywood.
03:37But, you know, Kerry, you always have supported us.
03:41Kerry has supported you stadium when we had one person that followed us.
03:45And that was me to Nick or Nick to me.
03:47So, Kerry, I always appreciate you, man.
03:49Seriously, you've always been there for us.
03:50You always believed in us, and I do appreciate it.
03:52What do you think at 16, real quick, before we let you go, what do you think the Jets do?
03:55Do they trade up to get a wide receiver if one of those big three slips that 10 to 12
03:59range?
04:00Do you think they're staying at 16, going after Omar Cooper, Denzel Boston?
04:04What's your sense right now?
04:05Yeah, they need another receiver.
04:07And I know that has to be in their mindset going into this thing.
04:11If they can move up, I mean, they have all those second and third round picks,
04:15so they could package something to move up.
04:17But it's going to be tough to move up, I think, in this draft unless you're trading some of those
04:22first round picks.
04:25So, they need a receiver.
04:27Braylon loves Jordan Tyson.
04:29I haven't watched a lot of film on him.
04:31I know Lemon a little bit more.
04:33I know he's a really good receiver as well.
04:35But I'm going to let Braylon talk about that one.
04:37I'm sure he knows the receiver game a little bit more than me.
04:40Let me ask you one last thing before you go.
04:42In terms of safety, right?
04:44The safety play.
04:45Listen, Malachi Moore had a decent year last year.
04:47On the stat, you got over 100 tackles, which is a good number, right?
04:50Obviously for a rookie.
04:51What do you look for, or what do the Jets need to look for in a safety that you think
04:56could separate a safety
04:58or give you better value at a certain spot?
05:00Yeah, the separation of safety comes when you're the quarterback back there.
05:05Okay.
05:05Everybody can make an occasional play.
05:08You can be disruptive.
05:09You can do all these certain things.
05:10You can be explosive.
05:10You can be good against the run.
05:12I think the complete player as a safety, number one, it starts with leadership.
05:18It starts with being able to talk and get people in the right position.
05:20Oh, yeah.
05:20And once you're able to do that, the whole defense plays faster, right?
05:24I know a lot of times when you look at most defenses, the linebacker is usually the one that's quarterbacking.
05:28But my time here when we were really good, we had two.
05:31It was myself and Bill one.
05:32We could both operate on different levels and be on the same page.
05:35So if you get a guy that knows defense, knows what everybody else is doing out there,
05:39it's going to make him play faster but also make the defense play faster.
05:42So I look at that, and I think ball skills is a big thing.
05:46You can have a lot of guys that can get around the ball.
05:48Jets had no interceptions.
05:51None.
05:51That's insane.
05:52That's crazy.
05:53Can you believe that?
05:54You should get an interception by mistake.
05:56That's what I'm saying.
05:57Tips and overthrows.
05:58But they have to be in the right position to get them.
06:00Yeah.
06:00And that's the thing.
06:01That's what I was telling Frankie when the stream started.
06:04I'm like, it was so frustrating to watch this Jets defense last year because that's not typical for this Jets
06:09team.
06:09Over the years, we've seen more defense.
06:11We saw them 0-9-10.
06:13We saw, obviously, recently with Robert Solomon.
06:15They've had, Jets have always had a good defense.
06:17It's very disconcerting when Aaron Glenn comes in here and the guys just aren't making actual productive plays.
06:23Can you talk about Mika Fitzpatrick real quick?
06:25What he's going to provide for this Jets defense on the back end?
06:28Man, if you're getting a Mika Fitzpatrick that was in Miami, that's a different story.
06:34He was game-changer.
06:36Now, I don't know this version.
06:38I don't know.
06:38I haven't watched him enough to really study his game and see where he is now.
06:44But if you get the one that's motivated, trying to prove a point that he still has it, and he
06:49can make some – he's going to make plays.
06:51But will he be good enough to be a difference maker?
06:54We have to wait and see.
07:02That was Kerry Rhodes, former Jets safety, joining us on the live stream, breaking down and reacting to David Bailey.
07:09Yes!
07:10Is it a New York Jets?
07:11Congratulations, baby.
07:12I did as much campaigning as I could.
07:15People were questioning whether or not I was on the David Bailey financier budget.
07:22But, listen, man, Jets finally made the right film pick.
07:26Finally.
07:27Listen.
07:28I'm shocked.
07:29I'm shocked.
07:29When that pick was about to be announced, I was thinking, Arvel Reese, Arvel Reese, Arvel Reese.
07:35No, it wasn't.
07:36Listen.
07:37This Muji guy, this Darren Muji guy is damn good.
07:41You know why?
07:41Because he makes tough decisions.
07:43It was a tough decision to trade Sauce.
07:45It was a tough decision to trade Quinnen.
07:47It was a tough decision to do a lot of things that he's done.
07:50It was tough in his pressers.
07:53He was tough with Glenn when they were sitting next to each other.
07:56Now he made the tough move again, and it's the right move.
07:59So shout-outs to Darren Muji.
08:02And I'm sure Aaron Glenn had something to do with it, too.
08:03For getting a player that's instantly going to come in and give you production as a pass rusher.
08:10Arvel Reese, again, I'm not going to harp on it, but he is not a pass rusher.
08:15Arvel Reese is a linebacker.
08:18He's an off-ball linebacker.
08:19He is not an edge rusher.
08:21You have to get an edge.
08:23And watch what David Bailey becomes in his career.
08:26Remember this.
08:27He will be one of the best edge rushers that we've ever had.
08:31Really?
08:32The Jets.
08:32The Jets.
08:33I'm not saying one of the best.
08:34You're talking about the Jonathan Abrahams of the world?
08:37Absolutely, man.
08:37You wait and see.
08:38This kid does not mess around.
08:40He is fast.
08:42He is strong.
08:43His first step is different.
08:45His spin move is different.
08:47Anthony Diario says,
08:48I hope Frankie doesn't go back on what you're saying right now about David Bailey.
08:52No, no, I won't.
08:53So you're not going to go back on David Bailey if he doesn't produce year one?
08:56Well, listen, I mean, you'll have to hold everybody accountable.
09:00Well, I know the big thing, I think that was a sticking point,
09:04and I believe you and I agree.
09:06You're a little hot under the lights, buddy?
09:08You okay?
09:08Yeah, a little bit, a little bit.
09:09Nah.
09:09The one thing I will say, Frankie, is that, and I agree with your point,
09:13and I think this was a really strong point,
09:14Harville Reese had no forced fumbles,
09:17and his sack production was only six last year.
09:20He had no forced fumbles.
09:21Yes.
09:21The turnover thing is a real thing, and as a pass rusher,
09:24you have to be a ball hawk.
09:26And like Kerry just told us, you have to be able to hunt the ball.
09:29The ball, you have to be able to get after it.
09:32David Bailey has shown that he has the ability to force the fumble and sacks
09:35and get after the quarterback in a really efficient way.
09:39This feels like a really good pick for the Jets in terms of we're going to elevate our pass rush.
09:44Yes.
09:45We know what we're going up against every day.
09:47It's not just Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills.
09:49They got Drake May and the New England Patriots.
09:52Drake May can move.
09:53Drake May can move out of the pocket and make some plays with his legs.
09:57And then you've got a guy, Malik Willis, who is very athletic,
10:00that they're going to be chasing down in Miami twice a year.
10:03So you're talking about three very mobile quarterbacks just in your division alone.
10:07This feels like a really, really good pick.
10:09Bringing on Fireman N, super Jets fan here.
10:12Big fan, Frank.
10:13No, big fan, awesome.
10:14Big fan, man.
10:15I've seen you at Fairbanks, right?
10:17Didn't I see you at Fairbanks, right?
10:18No, I was a fan.
10:19Oh, you were, yeah?
10:19I've seen you at the whole thing.
10:20We came years ago.
10:23But I follow you.
10:24Yeah, yeah, yeah.
10:25How you doing, man?
10:26You do a nice job.
10:27You do a nice job.
10:28Yeah, thanks, man.
10:28You do a good job.
10:29Appreciate Fireman N had hopping on the live stream with us on the New York Post Sports
10:33YouTube channel.
10:34Talk to us.
10:35What do you feel in David Bailey?
10:37They go NFL with Bailey for the production of Reese and the projection.
10:40Your thoughts on the pick?
10:41You know what?
10:42Like, both players are great players.
10:44You know, I'm a big fan of Ledger Doosal.
10:47Ledger was on that early on.
10:50He loved Bailey.
10:51He thought he was the pick.
10:54I would have had no problem with either one of the guys.
10:56I mean, you know, what are we talking about?
10:58I mean, these guys are, they're studs.
11:00So, you know, you're the number two pick.
11:02You're the number two pick for a reason.
11:04We shouldn't be the number two pick, but we are.
11:06And, uh, love Bailey.
11:09What I do love, I love the fact that, uh, Darren Mucci and that whole organization is
11:17buttoned up.
11:18You had McShay going back and forth.
11:21He was like a ping pong.
11:22Like a ping pong.
11:23And I like Todd McShay.
11:24Although he killed the Jets last year.
11:27I don't forget.
11:28I don't forget when somebody kills the Jets.
11:30I remember that, but that doesn't mean that, you know, you put that in the back, but you
11:35know what?
11:36He's, he's a big, uh, he's, uh, our GM, uh, no, our GM before was Joe Douglas.
11:45He's a big fan of Joe.
11:46And I understand.
11:47I love Joe.
11:48I love Joe.
11:48But listen, let's just keep picking great players that could control the line of scrimmage
12:00because the line of scrimmage is everything in the NFL.
12:04Obviously the quarterback, we've been waiting for a quarterback forever.
12:07Okay.
12:08Forever.
12:09But the line of scrimmage, when you can build a team with their line of scrimmage, you got
12:14it.
12:15And that's what you're doing.
12:16And Bailey is a beast.
12:17He's going to go with McDonald.
12:20Be nice.
12:20By the way, Fireman Ed, uh, you're the best.
12:23Carnell Tate.
12:24Carnell Tate goes to Tennessee.
12:26Who went Carnell Tate?
12:26Carnell Tate.
12:28Went to the Titans.
12:30Went to the Titans.
12:30Went to the Titans.
12:32So that was, that was a little bit of a surprise.
12:34Yes.
12:35I thought he would have went Reese.
12:36I thought he would have went Reese.
12:37People thought he would have went or, or style.
12:39But that's, but that, let me tell you something.
12:41I like that move.
12:42But let me tell you something.
12:43That's telling you something.
12:44Yeah.
12:44Like, how do we go Bailey and Salah, who's all about defensive line?
12:51He doesn't go Reese.
12:52Weird, right?
12:53I know he's an off linebacker, but he can play a lot of positions.
12:56I'm a little surprised at that.
12:58Honestly.
12:58Ed, I'll say this.
12:59We got a little bit ahead of ourselves in the, who our Bill Reese could be.
13:04We start thinking about, he can be Micah Parsons, but stronger.
13:08Yada, yada.
13:09It's tough for these tweeners to cut their way into the NFL and be productive.
13:14It's not an easy thing.
13:15Frankie, it's the NFL.
13:17It's not for long, baby.
13:18You're right.
13:19It's not for long.
13:20You're right.
13:20It's not.
13:20You know what I mean?
13:21I mean, there's been guys, I mean, you don't want to, you've got to go with who you feel.
13:27Listen, that's why you've got to, as a Jet fan, you have to be comfortable with Darren
13:33Mugee and the things that he's done.
13:37You have to like what he's done.
13:39Tough decisions.
13:40We're just talking.
13:40It was tough to trade, Salah.
13:42It's tough to trade.
13:43He's got balls to go.
13:44One million percent.
13:46I am all on board.
13:48Listen, I'm an Aaron Glenn fan.
13:50I know he didn't, he didn't, listen, very disappointing in the first year, but he brought his guys in.
13:57Let's see what we're, we're all, as a Jet fan, you're rooting for Aaron Glenn.
14:01He's one of us.
14:02He's one of us.
14:04He cries when he talks about how he wants to turn this thing around.
14:08That gets to my heart and soul.
14:10So, as a Jet fan, listen, I'm not delusional.
14:14I get it.
14:15He didn't produce.
14:16It didn't happen in the first year.
14:18I get it, but it's okay.
14:20He went with Salah's boys.
14:22He went with Salah's boys.
14:23He thought he could turn Salah's boys around and do what he had to do.
14:28Didn't happen.
14:29He brought his guys in.
14:31Let's see what happens.
14:32Let's see.
14:33Let's root for Aaron Glenn.
14:35Let's hope that we could have a GM and a head coach that could lead us to where we want
14:43to go.
14:44Lord knows we've suffered so long.
14:46The Jet fans deserve, the Jet fans deserve this.
14:51They just do.
14:52I mean, it's 15 goddamn years.
14:55And, you know, I mean, come on, man.
14:57We know the whole story.
14:58I don't need to get into it.
15:00We love him.
15:02I love him.
15:03I love all my Jet brethren.
15:05Man, there's no better fan base.
15:07There just isn't.
15:09There just isn't.
15:10That Super Bowl parade is going to be crazy.
15:12Oh, man.
15:12But, you know, one thing at a time, Frankie.
15:15One thing at a time.
15:15But, Frankie, I'm a big fan.
15:16We're putting on a hot air.
15:17Big fan of you guys.
15:18Thank you, guys.
15:18Love it.
15:19Thanks for having me on.
15:20I appreciate it.
15:22Appreciate you.
15:22Real quick, who do you want at 16?
15:25Who do I want at 16?
15:27I got to see how the board falls.
15:29We all want a wide receiver.
15:31I got to see how the board falls.
15:33But I'm going to just tell you something.
15:35It looks like there'll be a run on the wide receivers, right?
15:37But you see, you see Connell Takeo at four.
15:40I mean, that's a little scary, right?
15:42So, you know, you can have that.
15:44But let's see where it falls.
15:45I'm going to just tell you something.
15:47If they're gone, and that boy from Penn State, that guard is there.
15:53Hey, listen.
15:54Listen.
15:55What I just talked about before.
15:57Build that goddamn line.
15:59Build the trenches.
16:01Just keep building it.
16:03Keep building it.
16:04I would, you'll never hear me ever say a bad thing.
16:08If they draft that kid, I will go.
16:11Like Bill Parcells said, never get enough offensive linemen.
16:16Can't get enough.
16:16I need a factory.
16:18I want a factory.
16:19So, it's all good, man.
16:21Real pleasure, guys.
16:23Real pleasure.
16:24Listen, as always.
16:26Go Jets.
16:28That's the man right there.
16:29Fire in edge.
16:30Super Jets fan right there.
16:31Braylon Edwards is joining us.
16:33Former Jets wide receiver.
16:34Former Jets great.
16:35University of Michigan alum.
16:36He did have his best year, though, in Cleveland.
16:38That year in Cleveland, 16 touchdowns.
16:40That was big time.
16:40Yeah, when you say best, best is subjective.
16:42Like, real talk.
16:43Like, you know, my best year in terms of stat-wise, 100%.
16:45Are you talking about my best year as a complete player?
16:49I'd say 2010.
16:50Okay.
16:51That's fair.
16:51I was a New York Zet, by the way.
16:54This is the guy I've wanted all draft season long.
16:57Sadiq or Lemon?
16:58Makai Lemon.
17:00He's staring at me right now at 16.
17:03The Jets pick is it.
17:04They've got to announce this guy.
17:05They've got to be Makai.
17:07But did with King and Sadiq, what he did at the draft, what you saw, the film of Oregon,
17:12did it do enough to say, you know what, this is a new era,
17:14where you've got to have a tight end that can take advantage of mismatches?
17:18Is this a situation where they may go there?
17:21Yeah.
17:21This could be a freaky pick.
17:22I think the Rams kind of show you the way.
17:24Like, take a Ty Simpson, it was a crafty move.
17:27But the thing, though, with Makai, like, do you believe in his ability to be?
17:30I do.
17:31Next to Garrett Wilson.
17:32You're setting up a true wide receiver arsenal with him and Garrett.
17:35Because they do two different things.
17:37Right.
17:37Yeah, they do a lot of different things.
17:38Like, Garrett Wilson, one that can run ridiculous routes, has the speed,
17:42has the aggression, has the hands.
17:43You're an old-school Ohio State type of wide receiver that has a lot of success in this league.
17:47I think with Makai Lemon, he does a multitude of things.
17:50Not necessarily as big as Puka Nakua, but plays like a Puka Nakua.
17:54He can do things.
17:54I said to say that.
17:54He can be a dirty player.
17:55He can go over the middle.
17:56He can do some of the things, some of the reverses,
17:59some of the creative things that you see offensive coordinators starting to do.
18:02I think he can do that.
18:03So Lemon is the pick.
18:05If they did take Sadiq, I also wouldn't have a problem.
18:08I was telling Ryan, Kenyon Sadiq's the most athletic tight end maybe to ever come out of the draft.
18:134-3-9, 42-1-1-half inch bird on those crossing routes.
18:16And when the play breaks down, who's better at tight end than Kenyon Sadiq streaking across the middle of that
18:21field?
18:22Pound for pound, I would say Sadiq, Love, and maybe Downs.
18:27Or Reese, probably top three athletic people in this draft.
18:30Yeah, a league of their own.
18:31Let me ask you about Lemon.
18:33Everyone's talking about the hype because I bring up Puka Nakua with Lemon all the time, Braylon.
18:38Is Puka being 6'2 and Lemon 5'11, is those couple inches, how much of a difference does that
18:45make
18:45when it comes to getting to that ceiling of being one of the best receivers in football?
18:49Do you think it matters that much, maybe a little, but not a little?
18:52It matters a little, but realistically, you're talking about the difference of two and a half inches.
18:56So that matters.
18:57When you're talking about that, things that you can do, guys you may go against,
19:00being able to get that little extra extension, be able to go just a little bit higher.
19:03But when you have the athletic ability that Makai Lemon has as well, and just the 1-2,
19:07it reminds me of a guy that I live in the same city as, and that's Amar Ross St. Brown.
19:11He's not necessarily the 6'2".
19:13He's not the 6'1".
19:14He might not even be the 6'1".
19:16He might be that 5'11 and 7'8 wide receiver, but Amar Ross St. Brown does it all.
19:22And I think Makai Lemon is actually a little bit stronger in terms of things he can do.
19:25And where did Aaron Gleick come from that played with him?
19:28And you already know, USC.
19:30In the 2026 NFL draft, the New York champs select Kenyon.
19:35I told you.
19:36Oh, he called it.
19:38Braylon called it.
19:39Mic drop.
19:40Mic drop.
19:40I like the pick.
19:41I told you.
19:42I like that pick.
19:43I told you.
19:44He said it.
19:44Braylon came in.
19:45He goes, it's going to be Sadiq.
19:46Yo, I was saying.
19:47I like the pick, man.
19:47Talk to me.
19:48Why Sadiq?
19:48Because in this day and age, at the tight end position, tight ends already have an unfair
19:53advantage in terms of being able to make way better.
19:57Linebackers can't cover tight ends, regardless.
19:59Safeties nowadays can't cover tight ends.
20:01When you're talking about 4-3, when you're talking about 6-3, when you're talking about
20:04the things he did, cornerbacks can't necessarily cover Kenyon Sadiq.
20:08So you're allowed to do more inside and out.
20:11You can take him to the outside.
20:12Who's going to cover him on the outside and throw him the balls and put him in the spot?
20:15Who's going to cover him on the inside?
20:17Also, he can be one.
20:17He's highly sought after.
20:19Well, not anymore.
20:21Distractions, if you will.
20:22Oh, it's Kenyon Sadiq.
20:23We got to focus on this guy.
20:24Garrett Wilson now is open, doing a little bit more.
20:26Brees Hall, coming out of the backfield.
20:28It was a great pick.
20:29It was a great extension to re-sign in Brees Hall.
20:33I think this is a good move.
20:34Does Sadiq remind you of anyone?
20:36Do you have any pro-cops game?
20:37Yeah, Vernon Davis.
20:39Okay.
20:39Yeah, Vernon Davis.
20:40Like, Vernon Davis, when he came out of Maryland, 4-3 tied in, 6-3.
20:453-4, if you will.
20:47Physical.
20:48I mean, I don't know about the imposing rules and physicality.
20:50But look, 240, 6-3, 4-3-9 in this day and age.
20:5543-1⁄2 inch vert.
20:5711-1 broad and he's got 10-inch hands.
20:59Realist.
21:00I mean, he's a problem.
21:02I know he's still an early pick.
21:03This is pick 16.
21:04This could be the steal of the draft.
21:05Yeah.
21:06And this is the thing.
21:07Ryan, he wanted a slot receiver.
21:09This guy is a complete slot receiver.
21:10I know.
21:11He's a big slot.
21:11I know.
21:12It's the same thing.
21:13It's just interesting with Mason Taylor.
21:15You're taking the second round last year.
21:17And then you follow it up with Sadiq in the first round this year.
21:20But how many teams are running three, four tied-in sets?
21:23How many teams are you?
21:24A lot of teams are running two tied-in sets all the time.
21:25Yeah.
21:26So now you got rid of Tyler Conklin.
21:27Tyler Conklin now plays for the Detroit Lions.
21:29So you're having Sadiq and you're having Mason Taylor.
21:31I'm going to tell you like this.
21:32This is a good move because this is a heavily loaded wide receiver, defensive back, and that means safety and
21:39cornerback and linebacker draft.
21:41So you can still find yourself a wide receiver if you want to draft a wide receiver in the third
21:46round for this team.
21:48Because you definitely need to go defense second round as well.
21:50I'll say this.
21:52Darren Mugey's proven one thing to me.
21:54He doesn't give a crap.
21:56He traded sauce.
21:58Traded Quinnen.
21:58Didn't listen to all the Reese stuff.
22:00Took Bailey.
22:01And now he said, oh, I got Mason Taylor last year in the second round.
22:03Well, I'm going to get another tight end and do things differently.
22:05The Jets need GMs that don't take the safe route.
22:09These aren't safe picks, really.
22:11These are picks that really elevate your team.
22:14And there's ceilings here.
22:16I mean, you look at Sadiq and Bailey.
22:18Those are two of the best athletes and two of the toughest and grittiest guys in their position you're going
22:22to get.
22:22Also, look at it this way.
22:24Like, so much you talk about having a defensive-minded coach.
22:26They want defensive players.
22:28They're bringing in defensive players.
22:29So, for them to be on the same page and take Key and Sadiq at this pick, trying something different,
22:34this lets you know where Aaron Glenn and this team, this front office are.
22:38This is a potty coat right now because they have to be.
22:40Yes, sir.
22:42Braylon, I appreciate you hopping out here, man.
22:45Hey, you caught the golf round, too, man.
22:46Yeah, man.
22:46That was fun.
22:47Don't forget about the golf round.
22:48This guy's a hell of a golfer.
22:49Braylon Edwards is just too kind.
22:51Love watching you, man.
22:52Minus the driver, I think I played pretty good today.
22:54Putter was on fire.
22:55Yeah, putter was on fire.
22:56Did you find your box?
22:57I bombed one when you left.
22:58I knew that's what happened.
22:59I did, though.
23:01Did you find your box, by the way?
23:02You said 100%.
23:03I got it.
23:04You got your box?
23:04Real talk, a guy and his son, Alex and Jeff, they gave me a custom pair of Jordans.
23:08One side was Michigan, had stats on it.
23:11Oh, nice.
23:12And the other side was New York Zets, and it even had 74 on it.
23:15And honoring Nick Mangold while we're here, his memory.
23:18I tell you, I almost cried when I got the gift, man.
23:20It was a very special gift.
23:20So, that's why I was like, hey, has anybody seen this box?
23:24But I'm good, man.
23:25You guys do your thing.
23:26Braylon, you're the man.
23:26Thank you, man.
23:27My hometown is on the clock right now.
23:29And I love how he did a promo video.
23:31Braylon, from Hawaii.
23:33I know.
23:33Gets on the flight.
23:34From Maui.
23:34He came from Maui.
23:35He came from Maui.
23:37I want to go to Maui.
23:38Hey, man.
23:38You should.
23:39After this draft, I'm going to Maui.
23:40It's nice there.
23:41What?
23:42They don't allow people like me in Maui.
23:44Braylon Edwards called it.
23:45Said Kenyon Sadiq was going to be the pick there at 16.
23:48I'm shocked, man.
23:49I'm still shocked.
23:50I am shocked.
23:52Mekhi Lemon, also, he's going to be dropping, man.
23:54This is a move the Jets never make.
23:56The Jets did two things today that they would never do.
23:59The Jets did not take the safe pick in Arvel Reese that everyone wanted.
24:02And the Jets did not take the foregone conclusion pick in Mekhi Lemon because they need a receiver.
24:09They're thinking differently.
24:11Kenyon Sadiq is a different kind of tight end.
24:15There's a reason.
24:16Ryan, what's that number?
24:18Athleticism score.
24:1999.
24:2099.
24:20Athleticism score.
24:21And the production score is 80.
24:23I like my guys to be productive, too.
24:25Kenyon Sadiq played in an offense that didn't feature him all that much.
24:28The timing with Dante Moore was not necessarily there last year.
24:32This guy's a big slot receiver.
24:34He's somebody that's going to be able to play inside and out.
24:37The big slot's a real thing.
24:38Look at what Trey McBride's doing.
24:40This is the way the league is going, man.
24:42And Mekhi Lemon of what Braylon said, maybe the size, maybe size does matter.
24:48Right?
24:50And look, I like the fact that, I mean, Vernon Davis is, if you're getting Vernon Davis, I am a
24:55cloud nine.
24:56That guy was a monster.
24:58Yeah.
24:58He's going to be better.
24:59Like, I just get worried, though, again, you're talking about a tight end.
25:05He's going to be a lot of pressure on him to produce right away.
25:07I will say this.
25:09Geno Smith was able to put up insane numbers with Brock Bowers his rookie year.
25:14Like, Geno knows how to get the ball to tight ends over the middle.
25:17You're right.
25:17And like what I said before, Geno wants to attack the middle of the field.
25:21Kenyon Sadiq's going to give you the ability to attack him down the middle of the field.
25:24And the other thing is this that I really love about Kenyon Sadiq as a prospect.
25:29Ryan, what does Mahomes do that separates him and allows him to be successful?
25:35Broken plays, finds time in the pocket, and then is able to find Kelsey streaking across the middle.
