00:00The 11th Judá Rabat Street Art Festival ensures that there is always excitement in the heart of Rabat with every
00:07building telling a story.
00:09Ecuadorian artist Oscar Medina presents a vibrant pink and red piece featuring a giant bird with a chicken's head clutching
00:16the sun and the crescent moon.
00:21My way of working is to always use sketches that I make almost every day, and then I build small
00:28collages based on those sketches.
00:30So when I found out I was coming here to Morocco, I created a kind of collage using sketches I
00:36had already made beforehand.
00:38The general idea is to talk about travel, nature, and the elements that shape all of us as human beings.
00:47South African artist Keatama has chosen to depict a large lion at the center of a building surrounded by lush
00:54greenery, incorporating elements inspired by the African landscape.
00:59In Africa in general, it's just the beginning, and there's a positive side to that, which is that everyone who
01:07has started painting murals and become successful started very much out of the love of it.
01:13And I think that the level of community and sincerity and communication transferred through the art really ranks highly in
01:22the world conversation through art.
01:25According to the festival's artist director, Salaheddin Malouli, organizing such a festival has significantly elevated Rabat's profile.
01:39We work on large-scale murals, and this has opened the door for Moroccan street artists.
01:45In the beginning, there wasn't really a street art community in Morocco, but over the years, and thanks to festivals
01:53dedicated to this kind of art, a large community of Moroccan artists has emerged.
01:58This has also had a strong impact on how society perceives street art in Morocco.
02:04The festival is set to continue until April 27, 2026, and organizers report that since its inception, over 100 murals
02:17have been created across Rabat.
02:19Thank you very much.
