00:00It's quite emotional to me.
00:03Um, yeah.
00:05Oh jeez, I'm getting emotional.
00:06This is crap.
00:07We're here at Takaha, where after 15 long years,
00:10Christchurch's new $683 million stadium is finally opening.
00:15Things kick off here tonight when the Crusaders take on the Waratahs.
00:18But this is much more than a stadium to the people of Christchurch.
00:21I think it's actually amazing.
00:23We've been so excited since the earthquakes to have something like this.
00:26It just shines.
00:28It doesn't matter where you go around Christchurch or up the hills there,
00:32you look over and you're just seeing everything.
00:33Yeah, see it everywhere, yeah.
00:34Everywhere you go.
00:35Beautiful.
00:36Absolutely beautiful.
00:38Oh jeez, I'm getting emotional.
00:39This is crap.
00:40I'm excited to see in Tide.
00:43I kind of come through the days of Jade Stadium,
00:48seeing what happened to that.
00:50I'm also leagy, so there was some mixed emotions around
00:54formerly Orange Theory or Apollo Projects Stadium.
00:58And now here we are.
01:00So, yeah, I don't know.
01:02Yeah, I've got to know.
01:03Get emotional.
01:03Jeez, what am I doing?
01:05What the heck?
01:07We love it.
01:08Yeah.
01:09We've watched it evolve from virtually an empty section to this.
01:14And, yeah, we've gone through quite a bit with the building of it.
01:19We've put up with the noise.
01:21The last three years have definitely been a bit of a pain in the arse,
01:24but it's well worth it.
01:26Go Christchurch, yeah.
01:28It's been a long road since the earthquake, so, yeah.
01:31Yeah, celebrate.
01:31I mean, we had the CTV building just here.
01:38And, yeah, walking through that area after the earthquake,
01:43and to come to this, it's very emotional.
01:46This was my old stomping ground, so it's quite an iconic site for Pacific.
01:52This was one of the pillars, in terms of this site that we stand on,
01:56was one of the pillars for the Pacific community here over the years.
01:59So, no, it's pretty exciting.
02:03Woo-hoo!
02:04The stadium's for the people of Christchurch,
02:06and it's been a long time coming,
02:08and certainly really grateful that we were able to get it,
02:11and it's going to be awesome for us on the weekend.
