00:00Only eating at Black-owned restaurants for a full day?
00:02There's only one week left in Black History Month,
00:03so first I went to the grand opening of this new location of Gooey on the inside
00:07because their Nutella cookie jars are my favorite thing ever.
00:09It's this warm, melty, hazelnutty chocolate with soft, gooey chocolate chip cookies.
00:14It's incredible.
00:14I also tried their chocolate-filled croissant cookie,
00:17and the croissant bottom is like so crispy, flaky, buttery.
00:20And then I went to this gorgeous Caribbean restaurant in Brooklyn
00:22where they've got oxtail flatbreads with these crispy fried onions on top
00:25and so much melty cheese.
00:27And the oxtail had this really sweet, savory flavor,
00:29and it just falls apart in your mouth.
00:31But my favorite thing on the menu was actually their crispy chicken bao buns.
00:34They had this really creamy kind of bright yuzu aioli
00:36and the juiciest, crunchiest fried chicken.
00:39It was perfect.
00:40I loved all the East Asian influence in their menu too.
00:42Like they had curry crab gyoza and bianc bianc noodles
00:45with the creamiest sauce that was also really like peppery, smoky,
00:48kind of like a jerk spice.
00:49It was so flavorful, but also so creamy and rich.
00:52And the shrimp and chicken were cooked perfectly too.
00:54The chicken fell off the bone.
00:56I'm gonna have to come back for brunch too
00:57because I heard they have cornbread French toast.
