00:00As a Jet fan, sometimes our reactions to the draft are so over the top.
00:04I grew up seeing the old videos of,
00:06Oh my God, Johnny Lamb-Jones!
00:09And I never understood that as a fan.
00:11As a fan, I look at draft day as a day of hope.
00:13Do I have my preferences? Sure.
00:15In fact, I'll take you behind the curtain a couple years ago,
00:17and it involves your team.
00:18When the Jets and Giants both had numerous first-round picks a couple years ago,
00:22the Jets made the decision to draft Sauce Gardner.
00:24The Giants made the decision to draft Kayvon Thibodeau.
00:27Evan Neal, I think, was a part of that draft, if memory serves correct.
00:30I remember, as a Jet fan, not being in love with drafting.
00:33Don't get mad, Sean. It's Thibodeau. It's all good.
00:35I'm not correcting Evan.
00:36Whatever! On a roll!
00:38I didn't want Sauce Gardner in that spot.
00:41Now, I admitted when they took him, what do I know?
00:43Hopefully, he turns out to be the next Thoreau Revis.
00:46But even after they took a player I didn't necessarily want,
00:49I didn't look at it as doom and gloom.
00:51Like, Jet fans, we have plenty of days to be doom and gloom.
00:53It's called week 1, 2, 3, 7, 9, 12.
00:57Like, the whole season is doom and gloom.
00:58Yeah, I skipped those.
01:00This night is a night of hope.
01:02So even if there's a player or players you prefer,
01:05I've never understood, like, getting angry on draft night.
01:09It's not where you're going, but I play that game.
