00:02Welcome to this episode of Voces Reimagined. Today we are going to talk about the transformation
00:07of the Colombian camp. We are a country that historically has given the back of the camp.
00:13The violence, the lack of opportunities and the evil and selectiveness of the state in the
00:18areas rural areas have generated massive migrations from the camp to the city,
00:22where people don't find opportunities. Today we are facing a poor and poor camp,
00:28and in which every day there are less food. What can be done? Is it possible
00:34the transformation of the Colombian camp? About those topics we are today with Natalia Gómez,
00:38entrepreneur of the camp huilense, who works connecting small and large producers to the markets.
00:43The incredible situation known by all, the loss of crops in the camp and hunger in the city,
00:49makes this traditional disconnection of different problems. We face another big challenge,
00:55that is to see the agricultural production as a business, productive, profitable and a business
01:03generator of opportunities for the next generations. Every day is more evident the envejecimiento of
01:09this force of work and the difficulty to achieve a job for these activities. Even in sectors
01:15very developed in the country like the cafeteria, the big challenge is that children want to
01:19continue the work in the field, putting in risk the sustainability of the coffee and even the
01:24sustainability of the country. The persistence of this problem is an indicator of a adaptive challenge.
01:30Culturally, the agriculture sector, both for adults and for small producers, is seen as a
01:35job more remunerable, without opportunities for young generations, which prefer in other
01:41activities economic and not to see the agricultural production as what is a company productora of food.
01:49If we want to change this empresarial concept and generate social impact, we need to integrate
01:56collaboratively things like access to capital, transfer to technology, sustainability of the
02:03market, production efficient and access to information.
