European workers under stress often consider seeing a therapist, but can most people actually afford it? Who is most likely to get burnt out?

00:00Tens of thousands of workers across Europe face mental health problems.
00:04How accessible and affordable is therapy?
00:11Negative working conditions like job insecurity, harassment, clashing demands
00:16and excessive workloads can all take a toll on mental health.
00:20Some sectors are hit harder than others, especially those involving direct contact with customers.
00:25According to Eurofound, the EU Agency for Improving Working Conditions,
00:30the highest rates of people who report feeling often or always emotionally exhausted
00:34were found among healthcare and social workers at a staggering 24.5%.
00:40Accommodation and food services follow second at nearly 23%.
00:45Teachers, professors and educators rank third, with one in five feeling emotionally exhausted.
00:51At the same time, the lowest proportions were found among IT and public administration professionals.
00:57The research also compares therapy costs to the monthly minimum wage
01:01to give a clear sense of how affordable or not they really are.
01:05Romanians face the highest burden and sessions can cost up to 250% of the monthly minimum wage.
01:13Denmark is in second place with 175%, followed by Greece with 170%.
01:19At the other end of the scale, Ireland is the most affordable,
01:24with 10 sessions costing as little as 32% of the monthly minimum salary.
