00:00The policy should provide maximum daily and weekly screen time limits for students based on their grade level,
00:05eliminating the use of digital devices for early ed through first grade,
00:09except for formative assessments and for students enrolled in our virtual academy or with disabilities.
00:13It also blocks students' use of YouTube and other video streaming platforms,
00:17while still allowing families to opt in to the use of district-issued devices at home.
00:22I believe that we have the opportunity to lead the nation to establish comprehensive,
00:26developmentally-grounded screen time limits that put students before screens
00:31and set responsible use of technology in the class to repair our students for the world beyond our walls.
