00:02The two-week ceasefire with Iran has been extended indefinitely by the United States
00:07so that Iran can come up with a unified proposal.
00:11The ceasefire is due to expire at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, U.S. Eastern Time.
00:17U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday said the administration received a request from
00:21Pakistan, which hosted the first round of talks between the U.S. and Iran on April 12,
00:27to hold the U.S. attack on Iran as to allow its leaders and representatives to submit
00:32a unified proposal and until their discussions are concluded.
00:36He said he had directed the U.S. military to continue carrying out the naval blockade in
00:41the Persian Gulf.
00:42He said Iran does not want the Strait of Hormuz closed, so they can make 500 million U.S.
00:48dollars a day, and they merely want to save face by saying they want it closed because
00:53the U.S. has it totally blockaded.
00:55He said if the U.S. opens up the Strait, there can never be a deal with Iran.
01:01Leading up to the ceasefire deadline, the U.S. had threatened to bomb Iran's power plants
01:06and bridges to put pressure on Iran to take the deal and abandon its nuclear weapon program.
01:13Pakistan's Prime Minister Shabazz Sharif thanked Trump for accepting its request to extend the
01:17ceasefire to allow ongoing diplomatic efforts to take their course.
01:21He said he hoped that both sides will continue to observe the ceasefire and will be able
01:26to conclude a comprehensive peace deal during the second round of talks to end the conflict.
01:31Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakshi, who was part of the Iranian negotiating team, said
01:36blockading Iranian ports is an act of war, and thus a violation of the ceasefire.
01:41He said Iran knows how to neutralize restrictions, how to defend its interests, and how to resist
01:47bullying.
01:49Meanwhile, Iranian-American activists called for a ceasefire that should include protections
01:54for human rights.
01:55Any negotiation with Iran should consider human rights issues in Iran, first.
02:02And then second, by bombing, the regime is not going to change.
02:06We witnessed that in the last more than a month.
02:08And the focus should be on Iranian people and their organized resistance.
02:12We need to support them.
02:14This way, the change comes from within.
02:17Iranian people are ready for that, and we need to focus on that.
02:21Change, change, change!
02:25Resume change!
