00:48you think of the last game i think we've covered it but it was a fabulous comeback win
00:55in an incredible atmosphere the sabers i mean 10 out of 10 winning that game playing well mostly
01:02throughout and pulling it out four to three yeah it really was something and as we're we're getting
01:09ready to bring paul in i i want to share with our audience what my son observed from paul on

01:17sunday night as the this game swung and everyone's emotions and everything it was all happening there
01:25and owen has only been working with you paul side by side here since this hockey season when he got
01:31a pass and started going to these games and we're i'm grateful i know he is too for you you

01:36so welcoming and you know showing them the ropes and how everything works and all that um so it's
01:41not like he's been sitting next to you for years at these games or anything it's only been this season
01:46but he said when samuelson scored his one of his favorite things that happened was you just leaning
01:56back in your chair cackling kind of like oh yeah kind of like a crazy person is how he he

02:03but that was your reaction to the mayhem that had unfolded uh in the building and in all of our

03:23it it was just uh it just seemed like the bruins had six guys on the ice and yeah i
03:28felt really bad
03:29but i didn't need to feel bad for the fans uh for for like eight minutes the last eight minutes

03:43the sabers wore them down because it was the sabers who were the physical team and i think
03:50eventually it just wore the bruins down and then the fans jumped into the game and the bruins just

04:27when mike brought that up in here was to say i think the sabers just stayed with it i didn't

04:32that the game was the same game you know obviously boston had that lead and it's natural that you'd
04:37want to try to protect the lead and get the game parked safely in the garage uh no uh trademark

04:43um and but yet you know you tell yourself a story that oh well we went into a shell i

04:51you i think buffalo just wore them down paul those goals all were generated from behind the goal line
04:55which is not really this team's calling card right there cycle high and the defenseman and all this
05:01sort of stuff they just threw it in there and went and outworked them and i think wore them down
05:06there's nothing to me about boston's posture in this game that said they stopped trying to score
05:12goals they could generate hardly any offense all game yeah and and thompson had said they can't get
05:19frustrated and i don't think they did i think they they did exactly what thompson said that
05:23they they kept at it and kept at it they didn't get frustrated because he had said if we get
05:29frustrated we're going to make bad plays and we're going to give the puck away and that's going to
05:33turn into you know you know what and uh so you know i they kept the frustration down knowing that
05:39boston was going to play them that way and then they added the third four checker once they added the
05:44third four checker boston had no idea how to handle it plus as i thought they were worn down anyway

05:51now they're worn down now you got the third four checker and they're in trouble and now as marco
05:56sturm as you'll hear called him 72 got loose around the net he goes well we were trying to protect
06:03our
06:03net and if you let 72 loose there uh you're gonna you know he he's too good you can't let
06:09that happen
06:10and i thought 72 okay that's what we're gonna call him good uh yeah he's right though you leave 72
06:15there around the net you're paying for it i like to use the numbers the coach has to figure out

06:20it's going to come off as disrespect i don't know that's probably somewhat the point i don't look at
06:25it that way i just thought it was kind of funny do you i mean you've covered some of this

06:30from a saber standpoint then at least paul adjustments for tonight what do you want to do
06:33differently it would be really helpful for the sabers if they could get this this crowd into this game
06:41early and of course boston wants to take them out of the game which they did in game one until
06:47basically the third period but if buffalo could somehow get a goal or get something rolling early
06:53and get this crowd rolling and get the bruins saying uh-oh i think that would really really help
07:00their case um and even you know if the bruins are still going to take goofy penalties which they
07:05kind of did last game you know lindy ruffett and i could see it they weren't competing they weren't
07:11winning battles on the power play you can't have a good power play if you're not willing to win
07:16battles and they weren't i i remember one specifically on the wall there were two sabers and one bruin
07:22the bruin easily won the battle and put it down i'm like really and then i'm watching three
07:28different times a saber come up to the blue line and try to go through all four bruins that's not
07:33going to work you know it's it's just like you have the speed if they're going to line up at

07:39blue line put it behind them and beat them to the puck and win the battle um so lindy ruff

07:45and you will again hear him talk about it today uh different things that they could do uh to maybe
07:51help their power play you know things like that that but if you're not going to compete you're not
07:56to win battles you probably are not going to score a power play goal we again are still an hour

08:13a different building all the time you know going around the league what is witnessing the playoffs so uh
