00:22And clearly he realized that the idea of dismissing it out of hand and calling it laughable didn't work.
00:29And over the last however many days, it reached critical mass.
00:33I speculated yesterday a lot that the Patriots may have been behind the A.J. Brown timing yesterday
00:41to try and create kind of a distraction because why else would a national insider suddenly upgrade the patient
00:48to likely from something we all know is going to happen and then dominate the airwaves?
00:54So I really didn't think Mike was going to step forward and speak,
00:57but I think he kind of got the memo of what so many in the media have been discussing,
01:02which is, doesn't he need to talk?

01:05Isn't it unfair to put the players in that position?

01:10So he at least read the room in that context that folks were indignant about the idea that he should

01:18I still would say that the only indication he gave that this rose to the level of a significant issue
01:28was at the very, very end when he called it a private and personal matter.
01:33Prior to that, there was really nothing damning that said,
01:38look, this is something that I'm dealing with in my personal life.
01:45It was more regarding the football team and the appearance and the distraction.

02:09If that's all that it was, that was like two lines and then he could have just moved on.
02:13But if you're real, I still think it would have been difficult.
02:16I would say, though, it's still going to be difficult whether it's your home life and somebody wants answers about
02:21why you're in a hot tub with someone in a bikini
02:24or whether it's your boss wondering why you're that close to a source.
02:26I think all those conversations would be difficult still, even if nothing untoward happened and you could insist.
