China pledges deeper cooperation with Mozambique

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Mozambican President Daniel Chapo have agreed to elevate ties between their countries, following talks in Beijing on Tuesday.

00:00Chinese President Xi Jinping and Mozambican President Daniel Chapo have agreed to avert ties between their countries.
00:07Following talks in Beijing on Tuesday, the two leaders announced the creation of what they call a China-Mozambi community
00:13with a shared future in a new era.
00:15Xi said both sides will deepen cooperation in trade, agriculture, energy infrastructure and digital technology, while also strengthening coordination in
00:25international affairs.
00:26He also announced that from May 1st, China will grant zero-tariff treatment on 100% of tariff lines to
00:3353 African countries with diplomatic relations with Beijing.
00:38For his part, Chapo described China as a true friend and said Mozambique is ready to expand cooperation across key
00:43sectors.
00:44After the talks, the two sides signed more than 20 cooperation agreements covering areas including trade, health, media and belt
00:51and road projects.
