00:00More than 71 billion U.S. dollars will be needed over the next decade to rebuild Gaza,
00:06according to a joint assessment by the United Nations and the European Union.
00:10The report says more than two years of conflict have caused an unprecedented loss of life
00:15and triggered a severe humanitarian crisis across the territory.
00:21The report estimated that at least $26 billion would be needed within the first 18 months
00:27to restore essential services and rebuild critical infrastructure.
00:31It also identified over $35 billion in physical damage,
00:35along with $22 billion in wider economic and social losses.
00:40Gaza remained under a fragile ceasefire agreed in October.
00:44The Israeli military had killed more than 72,000 people in Gaza,
00:49mostly civilians, following two years of conflict.
