In this video, let's fix Red Dead Redemption 2 crashing or closing. RDR2 auto closing, crash fix.

Go to the game folder
Select "PlayRDR2"
Right-click it
Click on "Properties"
Click on "Compatibility"
Check "Disable fullscreen optimizations"
Check "Run this program in compatibility mode"
Select "RDR2"
Right-click it
Click on "Properties"
Click on "Compatibility"
Check "Run this program in compatibility mode" [Careful, because this is ONLY for "RDR2", not for "PlayRDR2", like I show in the video]
Check "Disable fullscreen optimizations"
Check "Run this program in compatibility mode"

Go to Documents
Open "Rockstar Games" folder
Open "Red Dead Redemption 2" folder
Open "Settings" folder
Find the files with "sga vulkan" in their name
Select all of these files with "sga vulkan" in the name
Delete them

Select "settings" file
Right-click it
Move your mouse to "Open with"
Choose "Notepad"
Click on "Edit"
Click on "Find"
Write "API"
Press the ENTER key
In "kSettingAPI_Vulkan", select the "Vulkan" word, and write "DX12"
Click on "File"
Click on "Save"
And close the file

If you are using RivaTuner,
Right-click RivaTuner
Click on "Close"

If you use a platform or launcher to play RDR2, such as Steam, make sure to launch Steam as administrator as well
Go to the Steam folder
Scroll down
Select "Steam"
Right-click it
Click on "Properties"
Click on "Compatibility"
Check the option to "Run this program as administrator"
Click on "Apply"
Click on "OK"

Make sure to keep your drivers updated. If none of this works, uninstall the game, go to the folder and delete all of the files, restart the computer, and do a new, clean installation of the game.
