00:01:00the unique ministry in God's economy the New Testament economy especially so this book of 2nd Corinthians is

00:01:16probably the one epistle by Paul that makes this ministry

00:01:22or define this ministry like none other books this ministry is the ministry of the new covenant in contrast with

00:01:37the old covenant this ministry is the ministry of the spirit

00:01:44who gives life as opposed to the ministry of death the ministry based on letters of the old testament this

00:02:01ministry is also the ministry of righteousness righteousness

00:02:08eventually life is unto righteousness the fruit of life is righteousness whereas the ministry of the old covenant is the

00:02:26ministry of condemnation based on the law because the law judges the law condemns

00:02:36but later on and this we can see in chapter 3 of 2nd Corinthians but a few chapters later

00:02:46we will find Paul in chapter 5 who is still excuse me not chapter 6 the end of chapter 5

00:02:59verse 18 to 20

00:03:03so let me read this key verse that undergirds this message but all things are out from

00:03:13God who has reconciled us to himself through Christ and has given to us the apostles the ministry

00:03:24of reconciliation namely

00:03:28that God in Christ reconciling the world to himself not accounting their offenses to them but has put

00:03:44in us the word of reconciliation so you have the ministry of reconciliation here and the word of reconciliation

00:03:57and obviously this word is for the ministry our burden this time is the ministry of the word in this

00:04:10message we want to stress or emphasize this matter of reconciliation and therefore we are talking about the ministry of

00:04:22reconciliation and the word of reconciliation

00:04:27on behalf of reconciliation

00:04:29on behalf of Christ then we are ambassadors as God entreats you through us we beseech

00:04:39you on behalf of Christ twice this phrase on behalf of Christ is here in this verse

00:04:49and the message is simply be reconciled to God this is the word from Paul to the Corinthians

00:05:02now I feel that in this sharing I will very much restrict myself to this outline why

00:05:16because this outline to me is exceedingly complete on the subject matter and we do well to stay within

00:05:43I hope that you would really spend the time to delve into this outline with the help of these brief

00:05:55ministry excerpt which I may read later on and some of the speaking from this morning

00:06:02as I was preparing for this message I find myself greatly enlarged and expanded in my vision concerning this

00:06:17matter of God's reconciliation I found that my view of this truth of reconciliation is rather limited and small

00:06:31but let us get into this matter and I hope you can follow me closely as we go through this

00:06:40outline

00:06:43now the still the other two verses I must read that are in the scripture reading that are important

00:06:51Romans 510 Romans 510 the first one for if we being enemies so when we talk about reconciliation

00:07:00we must know that

00:07:02it is a reconciliation between enemies

00:07:08and in this case the enemies was simply between God and man

00:07:18being enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of his son clearly indicating that the death

00:07:29on the cross

00:07:30of Christ the son of God is a death of reconciliation

00:07:38a death that brings enemies together

00:07:43the death of atonement to make them one

00:07:52much more we will be saved in his life

00:07:55so firstly

00:07:57it says we have been reconciled to God

00:08:01through the Lord's death

00:08:03but there is a much more here

00:08:06much more

00:08:07therefore we will be saved in his life

00:08:11having been reconciled

00:08:14so right away even here you see it's two-step process

00:08:18the first is the initial one and that is

00:08:22to be reconciled to God

00:08:26but the second one

00:08:28that emphasizes

00:08:31the life

00:08:32not just the death of Christ

00:08:34but the life of Christ

00:08:36it is

00:08:38it is

00:08:38to save us

00:08:40so

00:08:43there is an initial reconciliation with God

00:08:47or to God

00:08:48but there is the need for a much more

00:08:53salvation in life

00:08:55that completes

00:08:57that consummates

00:08:58that initial

00:09:00reconciliation

00:09:02so here it says

00:09:04much more

00:09:05we will be saved in his life

00:09:07having been reconciled

00:09:10all of us sitting here this morning

00:09:11we're all

00:09:12reconciled to God

00:09:14aren't we

00:09:16positionally

00:09:17and in actuality

00:09:19and in fact

00:09:20but brothers

00:09:21we all have to admit

00:09:22there is

00:09:23still a much more

00:09:25that awaits us

00:09:27this process

00:09:28of reconciliation

00:09:30shall we say

00:09:31is incomplete

00:09:33in that sense

00:09:35there is a much more

00:09:37having been reconciled

00:09:39you have to be

00:09:42reconciled

00:09:43we have been reconciled

00:09:45but now we need to be

00:09:47much more

00:09:48reconciled

00:09:49and this

00:09:51much more

00:09:52reconciliation

00:09:53is actually

00:09:55in the end

00:09:56the full

00:09:57salvation

00:09:58of life

00:09:59that we experience

00:10:01Colossians 1 20

00:10:04and through him

00:10:06through Christ

00:10:07to reconcile

00:10:09all things

00:10:10to himself

00:10:11that is God

00:10:12remember this

00:10:13man did not

00:10:15initiate

00:10:15any reconciliation

00:10:18God
