00:00:00Well, we're here on message six on being perfect as our heavenly father is perfect.
00:00:13And let me just say a word that I have forgotten mentioned in the first message that applies to this whole training.
00:00:28Indeed, all the messages and that is this and that is this word of dealing to deal.
00:00:41And we're talking about a particular kind of dealing when you deal with something or deal with someone.
00:00:51Immediately, it implies that you cannot be passive.
00:00:58You don't just sit there, relax, lay back and deal with something.
00:01:03It doesn't work.
00:01:04Whenever you use the word deal, it implies or suggests that you are sitting at the edge of your chair.
00:01:14You are exercising yourself.
00:01:18You know the word exercise yourself unto godliness.
00:01:23Right there, that is the root word for the word gymnastics.
00:01:31And so no athlete would just be easygoing and lay back and then the day comes, they compete.
00:01:43It doesn't happen that way.
00:01:44Every day, these elite athletes, they exercise themselves.
00:01:51They go to the gym.
00:01:52They lift weights.
00:01:53They stretch.
00:01:54They run.
00:01:55They push themselves in a rigorous manner, in a disciplined manner.
00:02:02And that is the meaning of exercise.
00:02:05So when we talk about dealing, it is a form of exercise.
00:02:10You are taking action, aggressive action with something or with someone.
00:02:19Otherwise, you are not dealing.
00:02:21So, we have that hymn that we sang in my message, number one.
00:02:29In dealings with the Lord as life, we need a proper heart.
00:02:35So, here we are talking about all those inward parts.
00:02:40The heart, the spirit, and all the different parts of our heart and our spirit.
00:02:46And each of these inward parts, in order for them to be renewed, in order for them to be transformed,
00:02:58in order for them to become conditioned in a proper way,
00:03:03that allows us to allow the Lord to do His work in us according to His economy.
00:03:13Meaning, that's how we cooperate with the Lord in what He wants to do in us to gain what He's after.
00:03:22A kind of exercise is needed.
00:03:24The kingdom is a matter of exercise.
00:03:28That's another hymn.
00:03:30Right?
00:03:30The kingdom is not just like this.
00:03:33The kingdom is an exercise.
00:03:36It's always an exercise.
00:03:38So, brothers, I hope that after this training, we would not just have gotten some good messages or inspiration or even help
00:03:54in matters of the kingdom of life and truth and so on.
00:03:59I hope that we would all return to where we are and increase our dealing with the Lord on a daily basis
00:04:11so that the Lord can do His work in all of us in a more rapid way, in a more solid way.
00:04:22And we owe it to the Lord, we owe it to the church and the saints that we serve to do that.
00:04:31Or else, how can we be the proper patterns for the saints to follow?
00:04:39So, this matter of dealing is very, very important.
00:04:43So, I would say even all the messages up to this point, and indeed those that are coming tomorrow,
00:04:49would all burden us or in a way drive us or force us, in a good sense, to deal with the Lord.
00:04:59And this kind of dealing, there's another aspect to it that is important, and that is it has to be fine.
00:05:09It has to be detailed.
00:05:11It has to be part by part.
00:05:14You have to deal with the Lord with your heart.
00:05:16You have to deal with the Lord with your spirit.
00:05:20There's a lot of dealing related to the spirit.
00:05:24Then we have to deal with the Lord concerning our mind, our thinking, our thoughts.
00:05:29We have to deal with the Lord concerning our emotions, so that it would be under control.
00:05:35Am I right?
00:05:36So that it can be used by the Lord.
00:05:40Then, of course, we need to deal with the Lord concerning our will, and our heart, of course, needs dealing.
00:05:50What is said in Jeremiah, the heart is corrupted and incurably wicked.
00:05:59Right?
00:05:59Incurably wicked.
00:06:01And that's why when God saved us, he had to, what, give us an entirely new heart.
00:06:10Right?
00:06:10A new spirit.
00:06:12Because it is corrupted.
00:06:21But, actually, he does not mean that he does the work of transplant.
00:06:27You know, he takes away your spirit or heart and gives you a brand new one.
00:06:31That's not what he does.
00:06:32He takes what we have in a very, very fallen and sad state.
00:06:38And he proceeds to work on those parts in the way of life, personally.
00:06:43And with our cooperation with him in this kind of dealing that I'm talking about, the Lord slowly would do a work of renewal.
00:06:54A work of transformation.
00:06:57Alright?
00:06:59Taking what is the old creation and changing it, renewing to something that belongs to the new.
00:07:07And that's how the Lord gained our being.
00:07:10That's how the Lord renews and sanctifies our entire being for himself.
00:07:17It involves the discharge, the removal of all the old and fallen and sinful and selfish and all those negative things, on the one hand.
00:07:29And it involves the addition, the dispensing, the infusion, the transfusion of what is divine.
00:07:44His life, his nature, his essence coming into us to replace all those old things.
00:07:53And as a result, we become a transformed and renewed being on a day-to-day basis.
00:08:01When I say exercise every day, I have scripture.
00:08:05And that is what the outer man, right, is what?
00:08:14Decaying, also on a daily basis.
00:08:24But the inner man, we're talking about the inner man, the heart, the spirit, this inner man, is being renewed also day by day.
00:08:39So, the human cooperation is absolutely necessary.
00:08:44So, brothers, so let us go back and not just forget about this training and all this wonderful material and then we spend some time to review them.
00:08:56That is not adequate.
00:08:58We need to deal with the Lord about all these things.
00:09:05The more detailed, the more fine, the better, the better.
00:09:11And in this kind of a dealing, brothers, it involves not just conversation with the Lord.
00:09:19It involves what?
00:09:26Transacting with the Lord.
00:09:28It is not just some general prayer of fellowship we have the Lord when we deal with the Lord.
00:09:36It involves a kind of back and forth with the Lord so that in the process, we are shined upon, we are exposed to the uttermost.
00:09:50Our inward parts are revealed before God.
00:09:54The one who searches our inward parts, right?
00:09:57And under that divine shining, we are convicted, right?
00:10:04We are condemned in a proper way.
00:10:06And so, all of that calls us to repent, to confess, to deal with the Lord about those things that are made clear to us.
00:10:19Not just about our wrongs, not just about the things so-called negative in us, but the things that are good and positive in us, including our disposition, including our character, and including certainly all these things within us.
00:10:41This is the kingdom life, this is the exercise to have the real kingdom life, to make us truly the kingdom people on the earth.
00:10:53I hope, brothers, we catch this.
00:10:57My concern is we have so much truth and so many things, but if this department is lacking and short, those things would not benefit us.
00:11:08At least not to the extent that God wants to, or in the speed He wants to do those things in us.
00:11:17To what?
00:11:18To transform our being fit for His kingdom.
00:11:24So, I'll just say this much.
00:11:25Now, we come to this message, and I would say we will just read these verses in Matthew.
00:11:36In fact, I'll just read two verses from Matthew, Matthew chapter 5, verse 20, and then also verse 48.
00:11:50I am just very, very burdened about this message.
00:11:53This is a, I say this is quite a deep message, and we all need to exercise even right now, alright?
00:12:01To really get the substance, the intrinsic burden in this word.
00:12:09Okay, verse 20, for I say to you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees,
00:12:20you shall by no means enter into the kingdom of the heavens.
00:12:27So, something to pay attention here.
00:12:31The kingdom is a matter, ultimately, of righteousness.
00:12:36We know that.
00:12:38But there are different kinds of righteousness.
00:12:41There's a kind of righteousness of the law.
00:12:43Paul used that term, and these scribes, these Pharisees, these Old Testament law keepers,
00:12:51that's what they strove to do.
00:12:53To keep the law as much as they could.
00:12:56And Paul, Saul, at one time, was part of that group.
00:13:01You know, in fact, he was pretty proud that he kept,
00:13:05if not all, almost all, of the entire law.
00:13:11And so he had a kind of righteousness.
00:13:14He did.
00:13:16But that righteousness is according to the law.
00:13:20Do you follow me, brothers?
00:13:23But here, the Lord used the word,
00:13:27unless the Lord, the king came, the new king came,
00:13:31and he has something to add to that.
00:13:36The Mosaic law is from God.
00:13:40We are not here talking about, essentially, the ceremonial aspects, okay, of that law.
00:13:45We're talking about the moral aspect of the law of God.
00:13:49And that is something good.
00:13:52That is something according to God, nature, and attributes.
00:13:58Alright?
00:13:58So all the ten words of the law, and so on and so forth,
00:14:04all those things are to be kept by man.
00:14:09People today, Christians included, have the wrong idea,
00:14:13that today we are free from the law.
00:14:16We are saved.
00:14:17We are free.
00:14:18Yes, we are free.
00:14:20Free from sin.
00:14:21Free from the devil.
00:14:22Free from the world.
00:14:23But not free from the law of God.
00:14:26Now, whether we can keep it or not, that's another matter.
00:14:31But God never withdrew, withdraw that law.
00:14:36That law is still present.
00:14:39Right?
00:14:40You still should not murder.
00:14:42Am I right?
00:14:43You should still not commit adultery.
00:14:45Right?
00:14:45You should still not steal.
00:14:47Am I right?
00:14:48You should still not covet.
00:14:50Am I right?
00:14:51So that God never changed.
00:14:53So the idea that we are free from the law is a wrong understanding.
00:14:59In fact, in fact, when the King Savior came,
00:15:03not only He affirmed that law,
00:15:06He added to that law to make even something higher,
00:15:11more difficult,
00:15:13for the fallen natural man to keep.
00:15:16If you and I cannot keep the Old Testament law,
00:15:19I tell you,
00:15:21the New Testament law is impossible for us to keep.
00:15:25I hope you are following me, brothers.

00:15:33How on earth are we going to keep this more surpassing law?
00:15:38There is more, there is higher law,
00:15:41there is more transcendent law,
00:15:43on top of the Old Testament law.

00:15:51no way!

00:15:55If you are still trying, you better give up now.
00:15:58The natural man can never keep that law in the Old Testament,
00:16:03much less the law in the New Testament
00:16:07and this kingdom constitution here
00:16:10are the New Testament laws
00:16:13that the Lord Jesus, what?
00:16:17Gave us.
00:16:20And it is in this impossibility
00:16:23where something so wonderful emerges.
00:16:28And that is, no one can keep such a law.
00:16:33such a New Testament law.
00:16:38The only way we can do it,
00:16:41brothers,
00:16:42is that we are supplied
00:16:45by something,
00:16:48not from ourselves.
00:16:50In this case,
00:16:51that supply is simply the divine life.
00:16:55The divine life itself
00:16:58is the only thing
00:17:00that can keep that law.
00:17:03because
00:17:07these
00:17:08highest law
00:17:09belong in that realm.
00:17:11It's not in the realm of ethics,
00:17:14right or wrong.
00:17:15This is somewhat in the human realm.
00:17:18This is something
00:17:19uplifted to a level
00:17:21of something divine.
00:17:23This righteousness of God.
00:17:25Who can do it?
00:17:26You know the verse
00:17:28we are going to read next here.
00:17:30And that is verse 48.
00:17:32In this section,
00:17:34the Lord is kind of concluding the word.
00:17:37You therefore
00:17:38shall be
00:17:39perfect.
00:17:41Now,
00:17:42can you be perfect?
00:17:44Now,
00:17:47perfect here
00:17:48is not just perfect
00:17:50according to the Mosaic law.
00:17:52This is perfect
00:17:53according to what
00:17:54the Lord Jesus just said
00:17:55in this section.
00:17:59You therefore
00:17:59shall be perfect.
00:18:01if this sentence
00:18:03ends with a period here,
00:18:06we are gone.
00:18:07We are done.
00:18:08We are finished.
00:18:09We better give up
00:18:10right now.
00:18:12But praise the Lord.
00:18:14This verse does not end here.
00:18:16It says what?
00:18:16as your heavenly
00:18:18Father
00:18:19is perfect.
00:18:22Brothers,
00:18:22do you see
00:18:23this is salvation?
00:18:25This is the way
00:18:27that we can
00:18:28be perfect.
00:18:30This is the way
00:18:31we can not only
00:18:32keep
00:18:34the Old Testament law,
00:18:36we can even keep
00:18:38the New Testament law
00:18:40instituted by
00:18:41the Lord
00:18:42Himself.
00:18:45And that is
00:18:46that we
00:18:48become
00:18:49the children
00:18:51of God.
00:18:52That God
00:18:53become
00:18:54our Father.
00:18:56Meaning that
00:18:56today we possess
00:18:58His life
00:18:59with His nature,
00:19:01with His essence,
00:19:03and with His
00:19:04divine
00:19:04supply.
00:19:06And it is
00:19:07by this
00:19:07supply,
00:19:08this something
00:19:09that we don't have
00:19:10in ourselves,
00:19:11that we can
00:19:12keep
00:19:13that law.
00:19:14Only God
00:19:15Himself
00:19:16can keep
00:19:16His own
00:19:17law.
00:19:18No one
00:19:19can do that.
00:19:22I mean,
00:19:23brothers,
00:19:24aren't you
00:19:24happy about
00:19:25this?
00:19:27Aren't you
00:19:28grateful about
00:19:29this?
00:19:30That God
00:19:31didn't come
00:19:32as in the
00:19:33days of old,
00:19:34keep the law.
00:19:35Actually,
00:19:36we know that
00:19:37when He gave
00:19:37the Mosaic law,
00:19:38it was not
00:19:39for them to
00:19:40keep.
00:19:41That law's
00:19:41purpose is to
00:19:42expose them
00:19:43that they
00:19:44can never
00:19:44keep that
00:19:45law.
00:19:46They should
00:19:47have said,
00:19:48Lord,
00:19:49Jehovah,
00:19:51thank you
00:19:51for this
00:19:52law,
00:19:52but none
00:19:52of us
00:19:53can keep
00:19:53it.
00:19:53You better
00:19:54help us.
00:19:55Then they're

00:19:56salvation.

00:25:22salvation.

00:25:24first part
00:25:25deals
00:25:25with
00:25:26our
00:25:26position.
00:25:28You may
00:25:28say but
00:25:29this part
00:25:29deals
00:25:30with our
00:25:30condition.
00:25:33The
00:25:33first part
00:25:34is we
00:25:36receive him
00:25:37he becomes
00:25:38our life.
00:25:39This
00:25:39second part
00:25:40is what
00:25:41we now
00:25:41can live
00:25:42out
00:25:43live
00:25:44out
00:25:44another
00:25:45kind
00:25:46of
00:25:46life
00:25:46that
00:25:47corresponds
00:25:48with
00:25:49his
00:25:49highest
00:25:50righteous

00:26:52And that's
00:26:53the Christian
00:26:53life.
00:26:55That's
00:26:55an overcomer
00:26:56living
00:26:57today.
00:26:59That's
00:26:59how
00:27:00we live
00:27:01in this
00:27:02kingdom
00:27:02and
00:27:03keeping
00:27:04the
00:27:05laws
00:27:06of
00:27:06this
00:27:07heavenly
00:27:08kingdom.
00:27:09Alright.
00:27:10One.
00:27:10The divine
00:27:11life can
00:27:11make us
00:27:12perfect
00:27:12as our
00:27:13heavenly
00:27:13father
00:27:14is
00:27:15perfect.
00:27:16Two.
00:27:17We have
00:27:18this

00:27:19life
00:27:19within
00:27:20us.

00:27:28we forgot
