02:05Welcome to Video 2 of Lima Llama, Intermediate Techniques.
02:10This will begin with the proper falling techniques because in this video, you will see the advanced
02:16flipping of Lima Llama and takedowns.
02:19The first is a front fall.
02:22It's important to master this if someone were to push you down from the rear.
02:28Now, kick the feet out, slap down with the palms, turn your head to the side as you hit the
02:33ground.
02:35Do not land on your elbows.
02:36Do not fall on your chin.
02:39Watch again.
02:39If someone were to push you down, instead of falling face down, kick the legs out, slap with the forearms
02:50and open palms.
02:53Do not land on the elbows.
02:55Keep this in mind.
02:56This will break your fall.
02:58You might get bruised a little bit, but it's better than breaking your arm or your jaw.
03:06Practice at home on a mat.
03:08Be very careful.
03:10Again, someone pushes you.
03:12Slap as you fall.
03:14Turn your head to the side.
03:15Protect the chin.
03:18Falling is very important in Lima Llama.
03:26Now, the side fall from a standing position.
03:30Bring the leg out.
03:32Roll on the shoulder and slap.
03:37This fall is used when you are flipped.
03:42The slapping breaks the impact of landing on your shoulder or side or hip.
03:50Watch it carefully.
03:51Leg comes up.
03:52Timing is everything.
03:53As you hit the ground, roll and slap.
03:58Break the impact of the fall.
04:15Look at it again and follow along at home.
04:17Bring the leg up.
04:21Roll on the side of the butt and shoulder.
04:24Notice how he keeps his head up.
04:26Avoid the head from hitting the ground.
04:29Especially if you're outside on the cement.
04:45From a standing position, bring the leg out.
04:49Arm up and roll and slap with the forearm and open palm.
04:55Keeping the head up.
04:56Again, do not bring the head back where it can touch the ground.
05:03It's the fine points that will save your life.
05:08Roll with the fall.
05:13Application.
05:14You're being swept down.
05:16You break the fall.
05:21Master Tabura takes the student down.
05:24Foot sweeps him.
05:26The student falls without injury by breaking the fall with the technique he just showed you.
05:34Look at it again.
05:42Slap to break the fall.
05:46We now get into the more advanced rolling techniques.
05:50If someone flips you forward, you roll with the technique.
05:54Come up into a fighting stance.
05:57You never slam to the ground.
05:59You roll.
06:12You roll with the shoulder, keeping the head tucked in.
06:16Never roll on the head.
06:21Watch carefully.
06:24Heads tucked in.
06:26Roll up to a fighting stance.
06:39Keep the lead arm curved.
06:42Roll along the arm.
06:43Cross the shoulder.
06:46And up.
06:55In slow motion.
06:58Notice how smooth he moves.
07:03Ready to face his opponent.
07:11This is not only for self-defense.
07:14If you were walking and tripped and started to fall, you should apply your falling and rolling techniques to break
07:20the impact, to avoid injury.
07:27Getting bruised a little is better than cracking your skull.
07:45The application.
07:51Master Tabura flips his student.
07:56Now, what could cause tremendous injury is avoided.
08:00Because the student goes with the technique, and breaks his fall by rolling with it.
08:11Watch again.
08:12Watch again.
08:19We will now get into the self-defense techniques of Lima-Llama.
08:25Remember, the master wants you to first understand the fundamentals on tape one before attempting these techniques.
08:33Now, defense against the front kick, block with the lead arm, elbow, strike groin, and across the jaw.
08:41Watch carefully.
08:42The master turns his body sideways as the attack comes in to avoid getting hit in the groin.
08:50Tremendous power.
08:52Tremendous power.
08:54All these fundamental blocks and counters were taught on tape one.
09:00So, it's vital you study tape one first before attempting these.
09:04This cannot be stressed enough.
09:16In slow motion, blocks the kick with the back of his wrist and the lead hand, elbows to the solar
09:25plexus, follows to the groin with a hammer fist, and with a back fist across the jaw.
09:36The opponent doesn't know what hit him.
09:42That block is also striking into the nerve of the thigh muscle, which will numb the leg and make it
09:50virtually impossible for the attacker to stand up.
10:04Notice how the master will improvise and change the technique slightly.
10:10He may add a new technique.
10:15Always to confuse the opponent.
10:30Each technique will be shown many times in fast and slow speed so you can comprehend each technique.
10:41To master the movements, you must watch them over and over.
10:46Replay your VCR.
10:48Study them.
10:52You now have the rare opportunity to see a true master performing his techniques.
11:00Take advantage of this opportunity.
11:08Again, blocking the front kick with a shoot-o at the knee.
11:13Again, a shoot-o or knife hand strike to the neck, follow through.
11:18Watch.
11:25The knee strike stops the kick from doing damage.
11:33And before the opponent sets his foot down, he's struck in the neck.
11:48Now, a little more advanced technique.
11:53Blocking the front kick by going to the outside.
12:03As explained on tape one, you see the uniqueness of the blocking and striking techniques of
12:09Lima Llama.
12:11They believe in circular blocking redirecting the opponent's attack.
12:24Side step, strikes the neck with the ridge hand, strikes the spine with an elbow, back
12:33fist to the base of the neck from a different angle.
12:46Side step the force of the kick.
12:48By side stepping, he avoids the kick even if he misses the block.
12:55You do not have to meet force with force as you can see.
13:07Now this attacker comes in with two punches.
13:10They're both blocked with the lead hand.
13:11He strikes his ribs, goes underneath the hand, back fist to the temple or the jaw.
13:21And of course, he breaks the elbow.
13:23Did you notice that movement?
13:25Pay attention.
13:34Now, in slow motion, this is the perfect time for you to follow at home with your partner.
13:40If you don't have a partner, imagine you do.
13:42Go through the movements.
13:46Believe it or not, you may have to use this tonight.
13:50What would you do if you're attacked?
13:51All right.
15:00Break the elbow.
15:05Finish you with a back fist to the temple or jaw.
15:09Look at it from the other side.
15:28Notice how relaxed the master is.
15:30He relaxes for speed.
15:34But there's tremendous power in those blocks and strikes.
15:38Very deceptive movements.
15:47Now blocking a roundhouse kick and a punch to the head.
15:53Notice how the master sneaks a strike to the ribs underneath.
15:57This will knock the wind out of the opponent.
16:01Also, the broken rib can collapse a lung.
16:06It would cause tremendous damage.
16:15Now his follow-through is a throw or front flip.
16:23Since his student knows how to roll and fall, there's no damage.
16:27But the attacker on the street who doesn't would probably fall flat on his back or head.
16:45The master sidesteps the kick, blocks it, blocks the attempted follow-up punch, strikes the solar plexus, goes underneath,
16:56completely flips his opponent to the ground again.
17:12It is very important that his student go with the technique so he doesn't have a joint pulled or muscle
17:20strained.
17:25Watch this one again.
17:28The attacker sidekicks.
17:30The master sidesteps the kick.
17:33Arm lock.
17:34Takedown.
17:50Now in slow motion, master steps back slightly, blocks, breaks the arm, sends his assailant to the ground.
18:06Arm lock.
18:19Did you notice how he flipped him over his leg as he sent him forward?
18:25Watch again.
18:33Now, blocking a front kick and a front punch to the face.
18:44A very quick and short takedown.
18:48Sends the assailant flat on his face.
18:50Did you see that?
18:52Watch again.
18:53Slow motion.
18:59The master is not intimidated.
19:02His hands are on his hips.
19:04He's inviting his attacker to come in.
19:20These are great techniques to add to your program that you may now be studying.
19:26Yeah!
19:27Yeah!
19:29Yeah!
19:34Again, in slow motion.
19:42Look at how he sweeps him off his feet.
19:47Gets over his attacker.
19:48Finishes with a punch to the spine or kidneys.
19:52Either one of the vital areas will do.
20:02The master now shows you how to defend against the devastating spinning back kick.
20:08Have you been watching?
20:09Carefully.
20:16He avoids the force of the kick by sidestepping it.
20:20Blocks the punch.
20:22Catches his opponent.
20:24Around the face.
20:25Flips him down.
20:34Steps in on the kick.
20:36Gets close to his opponent.
20:37Checks his hand.
20:40Same time.
20:41Pushing the face down.
20:42Hooking the foot.
20:45He stands over his opponent.
20:47Ready.
20:47He gets up.
20:48Which I doubt he will.
20:58Now again.
21:00Blocking the front kick.
21:02And taking the opponent down.
21:12In slow motion.
21:28Side step the kick.
21:30With the back of the wrist, strike the thigh.
21:33Chops the neck.
21:35Flips the lead leg.
21:38Stands over his opponent.
21:55Stands over his opponent.
21:57Blocks.
21:58Creates centrifugal force.
22:02Takes him down by the jaw.
22:04Hooks the head around.
22:14Keeps that arm up just in case a kick comes.
22:16He he he he!
22:18He he he!
22:18See that?
22:20He he he he!
22:20He he he!
22:20He he he!
22:21He he he!
22:22He he he!
22:22Slow motion.
22:24Blocks.
22:25Blocks.
22:25Blocks.
22:26Spins the opponent.
22:28Covers.
22:29And strikes.
22:31Finishing blow to the jaw or throat.
22:59Now the master's students show a very unique technique.
23:04Spinning away from the punch, getting behind the opponent, taking him down, finishing with a strike to the temple.
23:16Watch the spinning elbow.
23:27This is lima llama, the constant flow of technique.
23:45Again, circling away from the punch, elbow, taking him down with a hammer fist to the chest, hooking the throat,
23:54strike.
24:00Slow motion, block, strike, strike throat, hard hammer fist across the solar plexus, crushing the heart.
24:15The hammer fist is one of the most popular strikes in lima llama because of its tremendous power.
24:37Break the knee, strike the neck, take down.
24:40Watch, sidestep the punch, strike across the temple or neck, and open hand across the face for the takedown.
24:58In lima llama, they believe in taking your man to the ground.
25:02Because many people do not know how to fall, and once they hit the ground, they're in tremendous pain and
25:07panic.
25:10Think about it. Do you know how to fall properly if someone slammed you down?
25:16That's why you must work on your break falls as shown in the beginning of this video.
25:21Take some down. Stands over the opponent, ready.
25:33Break the knee, strike temple, take him down by the jaw.
25:49Master blocks his head, stomach, flips his opponent on his back.
26:01Notice the head block, it's an X block, two hands at once.
26:09He crushes the Adam's apple with his open hand.
26:15Block, block, Adam's apple.
26:19Flip.
26:24Hit!
26:25Hit!
26:30Hit!
26:44Hit!
26:50Hit!
26:52Hit!
26:55Hit!
26:58Hit!
27:01Hit!
27:03Watch.
27:05Did you notice the takedown?
27:07It's for in-close fighting.
27:11He hooks his foot.
27:29Block, block.
27:30Strike the ribs.
27:34Flip down.
27:36Continuous motion.
27:39A tornado of technique.
27:52This is a very interesting technique.
27:56It incorporates the hair pull, ending with a wrist lock.
28:05Lima Llama has excellent in-fighting techniques.
28:09Again, this is probably where you'll be if attacked on the street.
28:14All of a sudden the opponent is on you and you must learn how to fight from the inside using
28:20the elbows, palms, hair pulls, wrist locks.
28:35Always controlling his opponent.
28:40Stomping to the head.
28:46These techniques are devastating and should only be used if you must, if your life's in danger, and then give
28:56your attacker all he deserves, which is hell.
29:01No one has the right to assault you for no reason.
29:06You must defend yourself at all cost.
29:10And these techniques will help you survive.
29:15Now, he sidesteps the punch, incorporates the roundhouse kick.
29:22Strikes to the groin, then takes him down.
29:24Watch.
29:24Roundhouse.
29:26Temple, groin.
29:28Flipping him back.
29:30Follow punch kidney.
29:33All done in a split second.
29:38Sidestep.
29:39Again, the sidestepping is used in case you missed a block, you're out of the force of the strike.
29:51If you try to meet force with force, you're asking for trouble.
30:04Blocks, ridge hands, blocks, bent wrist to the ribs, strike to the neck.
30:11Remember that strike to the neck is with the outside edge of the hand, called a shoot-o.
30:23Let's watch it quick.
30:25Again, all within a split second.
30:28Slow motion.
30:31These guys really go at it.
30:33Master Tabura demands it.
30:36They train realistically, as if attacked on the street, for real.
30:45There's no room for play in Master Tabura's school, as you can see.
30:54Here's a nasty technique.
30:57This will send a mugger home, crying to his mommy.
31:05Here.
31:07Here, here.
31:08Here.
31:09Here.
31:12Here.
31:14Here.
31:15Here.
31:15Here.
31:15Here.
31:16Heied.
31:17We've made the air sound and that's right.
31:44Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
32:09Okay, watch this technique.
32:15The main thing is to get the jaw up on your opponent, pushing it back.
32:20This enables you to control him.
32:22He has nowhere to go but down.
32:28Blocking, going into the throat and jaw.
32:31Keep him spinning in a circular motion to the ground.
32:41Now, if attack from the rear, the master turns into his opponent, striking him across the throat.
32:49Watch.
32:52Simple but effective.
32:55If you don't believe it, grab the master.
33:08Spinning, striking the throat.
33:15Look at the tremendous power generated.
33:27That would certainly surprise a mugger.
33:35Now, the following drills will enable you to sharpen your reflexes, timing, speed, and power.
33:47Working with the partner, you ad-lib as you go.
33:52As he strikes, you try four different techniques each time.
33:57Working back and forth.
33:59This ties in together all the blocks and punches that you learned on tape one and many of the techniques
34:05shown thus far.
34:09This is an excellent drill for developing those important reaction movements.
34:17If assaulted on the street, you don't know what's coming.
34:21This will help you get over those hesitations that could mean the difference between life or death.
34:33As the attacker comes in, he blocks and counters with a variety of techniques.
34:42In this drill, you concentrate on flowing.
34:48Never assume your opponent is going to go down or stop with one counter.
34:57If he's a tough guy or you miss your first strike, he'll just laugh at you and keep coming.
35:03That's why you have to follow through.
35:04Always have a follow-up.
35:08Concentrate on your circular movements, your fanning techniques.
35:13Move your hands in a circular motion as if you had a propeller in front of you blocking.
35:17Watch in slow motion now.
35:45Good job.
35:48Master Tabura's sons show excellent technique as they perform this exercise.
35:58Yeah, yeah, yeah.
36:15Yeah, yeah.
36:18Yeah, yeah.
36:20Yeah.
36:20Let's go!
36:52Yeah!
36:58Yeah!
37:01Yes!
37:04Yeah!
37:05Yes!
37:05Yeah!
37:07Yes!
37:09Yes!
37:10Yes!
37:33In the following drill, Master Tabura will demonstrate a special way to train the reflexes.
37:40This is done by having different attackers constantly come in at you.
37:45You just don't know what they're going to do, so watch how he reacts.
38:02You should try this in your own school.
38:05Line up ten different students and have them come in one after the other.
38:10You must block and counter their assaults.
38:14And not always using the same technique, but using your imagination.
38:19Yeah!
38:25Yeah!
38:26Yeah!
38:27Yeah!
38:28Yeah!
38:29Yeah!
38:29Yeah!
38:31Yeah!
38:34Yeah!
38:38Yeah!
38:39Yeah!
38:39Yeah!
38:40Yeah!
38:42Yeah!
38:43Yeah!
38:43Yeah!
38:54Yeah!
38:57Yeah!
38:59Yeah!
39:00Yeah!
39:03Yeah!
39:04No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
39:05Yeah, yeah, yeah.
39:50This routine is totally ad-lib, nothing is pre-arranged, it's all reflexes.
39:56Come on, come on, come on, come on, come on.
41:34Lima Lama believes in doing what needs to be done to stop your attacker, and if it calls
41:40for pulling his hair, pull his hair, and flick paint on him before he hurts you.
41:56Now the reflex drill is done to the side of the master.
42:10This is good training against the sucker punch.
42:13Someone approaches you from the side, step back away from the force, block, hit the throat,
42:19solar plexus, grab the hair, drop him on his back, finish to the jaw.
42:27Attacks to the rear.
42:29You must be ready for anything.
42:38Breaking the wrist, taking him down.
42:49Break the elbow with an arm lock.
42:51Watch it again.
42:53Crush the solar plexus or heart.
42:56Wrist lock.
42:58Take him down.
43:08Again, these are all reflex movements, responding to an impromptu attack.
43:14You should definitely incorporate this into your training.
43:39Stay there.
43:43Yeah!
43:45Yeah!
43:46Yeah!
43:46Yeah!
43:47Yeah!
45:15I truly hope you have enjoyed Intermediate Techniques of Lima Llama by Master Tabura.
45:21You are now ready for the advanced techniques.
45:25These are most exciting.
45:27On the next video, you'll learn knife, defenses, defense against the gun, and how to handle
45:32two or more attackers.
45:34And of course, the short stick techniques of Lima Llama.
45:38Thank you and train hard.
