00:00Alright, so the National League West, or excuse me, the American League West has been dismal to say the least
00:05this season.
00:05No team is above .500. Seattle is still the favorite.
00:09The Angels have actually played better than I thought, so I don't want to just totally crap on them.
00:14I think Houston is cooked completely, and after seeing what I saw yesterday where they played a man short, that
00:19was shocking to see, Jack.
00:21So I just think wheels are falling off in Houston.
00:24But Seattle, Texas, the A's may be hanging around for me, but it's probably one of those top two teams,
00:31right?
00:32I would think so. It's just like we drew it up, where the American League West is the worst division
00:36in baseball,
00:37and the National League Central is the best division in baseball.
00:39Like all five NL Central teams are over .500, and all five AL West teams are under .500.
00:44I don't think anybody would have had that on their bingo card going into 2026.
00:47But yeah, I mean, you would have to think Seattle and Texas.
00:50The reason I still lean Seattle is because on paper, what they did to shore up the roster and any
00:56deficiencies they may have had was impressive this offseason.
01:00I thought Jerry DiPoto had himself a heck of an offseason as the lead decision maker in Seattle, going to
01:05get a Brendan Donovan,
01:06going to get a Jose Ferrer as a lefty in that bullpen.
01:09I know Ferrer's been underwhelming, but I mean, it's so early in the year, and I like what they have
01:15on paper.
01:15And this was a team that was a swing away from George Springer from going to the World Series and
01:20playing the L.A. Dodgers.
01:22Texas is threatening because of what they have in the starting rotation.
01:26Mackenzie Gore is a sneaky, awesome add.
01:29I don't know what wrist soreness means for Jacob deGrom, but that's what he left with on Friday in Seattle.
01:36It just seems like Jacob deGrom is fragile, has been over the course of his career.
01:41So I think Texas would need to pitch their way there, but Seattle is the more well-rounded product.
01:47And if you're going to eliminate Houston, you better eliminate Sacramento as well.
01:51I know Jeffrey Springs started well on the mound for Sacramento, but they might just not have enough pitching to
01:56compete in that division.
