Tenby pupil Mila to cut her long locks for worthy charity

A young pupil from Tenby will be chopping her locks for a worthy children’s charity next month.
Seven-year-old Mila Cloake a pupil at St Teilo’s School, is having 12 inches cut off her hair; and will be donating her hair to the Little Princess Trust, who use donated hair and money, towards making wigs for children and young adults who have lost hair through illness or conditions like alopecia.
“The fundraising is underway, through the online charity page, and cash donations. She is doing really well so far!” said Mila’s father Ben.
Indeed, Mila has managed to raise over £500 already, towards the cause.
The haircut itself is taking place at her Nanny and Bampis pub, The Cross Inn Broadmoor, on Friday, May 29, at 4.30pm.
“Posters have been displayed as well as charity donation boxes in the pub. We have also been very grateful to many local businesses, especially in the Tenby and Narberth areas, who have agreed to donate some fantastic prizes towards a charity raffle we will draw on the day of the event,” continued Ben.
“She would love to raise as much money as possible for this great cause,” he added.
The Little Princess Trust provides wigs to children to help restore their confidence and identity. All costs, including the making, fitting, and styling of the wig, are met by the charity, and this free service is available to any young person up to the age of 24 with hair loss.
As part of its Hair and Hope mission, the Little Princess Trust also funds childhood cancer research aiming to find kinder and more effective treatments.
Mila said: “I’m going to cut 12 inches off my hair for the charity the Little Princess Trust. They help poorly children and young adults, who have lost their hair because of illness.
“Because I’ve got lots of hair, I’m donating to them to make wigs.”
