Jeremy and Joe react to the Sabres incredible 4-3 comeback win over the Boston Bruins on Sunday night.
Transcript
00:00It was awesome.
00:00I think it's right to be emotional after that game.
00:03It could not have been a better return to playoff hockey.
00:06Went from thinking, I don't know if they're going to score in the series on Swayman here
00:10to three goals in four minutes and four goals in 646 to come from behind to win.
00:17So just crazy.
00:19Man, I felt all along, we were watching the game yesterday at Rec Room, my brother's
00:24standing there, and he's like, this goalie, this goalie.
00:26I'm like, they are going to win this series.
00:31They have the puck the whole game.
00:33And we'll get to, like, there's numbers on that and whatnot, but they had the puck the
00:37whole game.
00:39They didn't have elite chances the whole game, but they just had it.
00:44And how long can you go without beating the goalie playing like that?
00:49I think eventually you're going to do it.
00:50And you know what?
00:52Like, sometimes your best player has got to be your best player.
00:55How often does that get said in sports?
00:56In every sport, all the time.
00:58Paul says it a lot.
00:59Paul says it a lot.
01:00Paul says it about the Sabres a lot.
01:01Yeah, it's a mindset in sports.
01:04Like, your best player sometimes has just got to grab the game and be your best player.
01:09And, like, the Samuelson goal will be remembered for the pop and the feeling, and that's a great
01:14goal, too.
01:14Quinn with what an effort.
01:15But Thompson won that game for them.
01:18It's a Tage game.
01:18Yeah.
01:19Tage won that game for them.
01:21Yeah.
01:21Both goals are incredible.
01:23The first goal is unbelievable.
01:25Oh, his hands in that.
01:26Unbelievable.
01:27Phone booth are nuts.
01:28It almost felt like there was, it was going to take something superhuman.
01:32We were watching the game, like you said, a rec room with a big, huge watch party, which
01:35we had a great time.
01:36And I thought, they need to bounce.
01:38They're going to need something.
01:39Bounce off a skate.
01:39A dirty goal.
01:40A dirty goal.
01:40Something, yes.
01:41Anything to just kind of get through and show that Swayman is human, that he can bleed.
01:47And Tage just really with an unbelievable superhuman kind of effort and hands there to get through
01:53once.
01:53And as soon as that happens, it's like, all right, all right.
01:55They're on the board, you know, whatever.
01:57My wife texted me during the third period, right after the Bruins went up two to nothing.
02:03And she said, why is, why do they look so nervous?
02:05Why is everyone so nervous?
02:06And I said, well, I think the goal that made it two nothing really kind of like, oof, all
02:12of a sudden we got to get three past this guy in order to win this game and two in
02:17the
02:17next 19 minutes.
02:18So they found a way, they figured it out.
02:21And like you said, like the perfect or whether a fitting start to the series driving in this
02:27morning, I'm ready to call it the perfect game in a very different way than the Bills
02:31one.
02:31The Bills one is they were actually perfect.
02:33You know, they couldn't have done anything better.
02:34And this one was the right way to start a series, to welcome themselves back, to climb
02:41out of a deficit, two goals at home.
02:44Everything about it was just like storybook.
02:48And the entire NHL is the entire NHL, not watching the highlights too.
02:52And thinking like, holy cow, those people are insane.
