SLMC-QC to open 13-story North hospital

St. Luke’s Medical Center-Quezon City is set to expand its services with its new North Hospital building. During the topping-off ceremony marking the completion of the facility’s vertical construction, Dr. Deborah Ona, senior vice president and medical director, told The Manila Times that the new building was designed with patients as the top priority. The 13-story building, to be completed in 2027, will house almost 80 percent of its existing services and will accommodate 132 patient rooms.

00:00The building was designed in such a way that it took into consideration the patient.
00:05So it's going to be in such a way that it's so seamless that patient care and managing them in
00:15whatever disease that they have will be seamless as well.
00:19So we want to elevate the experience of the patient, meaning we wanted everything to be in one place so
00:27that if you need a laboratory or if you need an ultrasound, it's going to be in one place.
00:34Unlike before, you have to go to different places when you go to look at the service room, to look
00:43at how the patients go through their experience.
00:50So most of the areas that are high traffic are going to be in this building.
00:57And it's made in such a way that we want it to be a smart building.
01:02So it's going to be very, if you're a patient, it's going to be very easy for you to navigate
01:10the hospital knowing that you're sick and knowing that you have a safe place and a nice place to be.
01:18So therapeutic in a sense that the ORs and the ICs will also be housed in this area, as well
01:27as all of the diagnostic laboratories and examinations that you need to do will be in this area.
01:35It also has a connection to the main hospital as well.
01:40So that's why it's called the ORs Hospital Building, so that when a patient comes from the main hospital, they
01:48will go through a passage where the patients from outside, those who are doing their outpatient laboratories,
01:57there's some form of privacy because it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, hindi mo
02:05pinagsasama yung inpatient saka outpatient.
02:08So it's made, it's really planned that way.
02:14And as I've said in my speech, this has been long.
02:18The planning has been very extensive.
02:22It's both the stakeholders, our doctors, the ones who use the space, as well as our patients.
02:28So it was planned in such a way with the patient and the doctor in mind so that they, they
02:35do whatever they do.
02:37They have to do what they need to do best is just to treat.
