00:00Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Johari Ghani has denied issuing letters requesting members of the public to deposit money into
00:09certain accounts, allegedly for investment purposes.
00:12Johari reminded the public not to be deceived by such letters as they are forged, adding that the ministry has
00:20never issued such letters.
00:21He advised the public to remain vigilant and to lodge a police report immediately if they receive suspicious letters or
00:29investment offers.
00:32Johari also uploaded a video showing a man meeting him with a letter which bears the National Coat of Arms
00:39and the ministry's letterhead.
00:41The letter, allegedly issued in Johari's name, required an investor to pay a RM3,000 deposit within three working days
00:50as a condition for receiving RM80,660 in profits from overseas investments.
