00:00A PKR leader has taken a swipe at party colleague Subang MP Wong Chen over the sale of land near
00:07the Ayahitam Forest Reserve in Kinrara, Salangor.
00:11PKR Deputy Secretary General Brian Ng asked why Wong had not filed a Freedom of Information application to seek details
00:19of the transaction, despite being outspoken on the matter in the press.
00:23Ng said Salangor had an FOI enactment that had been enforced since 2013, giving anyone the right to request for
00:31information from the state government, which must respond within 30 days.
00:35He said the process is simple, legally enforceable, and more effective than relying on letters or press conferences.
00:41The issue centers on the sale of about 68.4 hectares of land marked for development near the Ayahitam Forest
00:48Reserve in Kinrara.
00:50In December, Salangor Exco Jamalia Jamaluddin said the land had been de-gazetted as a forest reserve in 1926, and
00:58that no development application had been submitted to the Subang Jaya City Council.
01:03Wong has criticized the Salangor government for not replying to three formal letters on the deal, saying more than 7
01:09,000 Kinrara residents had signed a petition seeking transparency.
