00:00So here are five simple food combinations that actually boost each other's health benefits.
00:05Firstly, one of my favourites, tomatoes and olive oil.
00:08Now, tomatoes are rich in lycopene, which is great for your heart health,
00:12but your body absorbs it much better with fat.
00:15So a little drizzle of olive oil, which is also good for you,
00:18makes those tomatoes work harder for you.
00:20Secondly, green tea and lemon.
00:22Now, I'm new to green tea, but I'm liking it.
00:25It's full of antioxidants, but they can be quite unstable.
00:28If you add a bit of lemon, that vitamin C helps your body absorb those antioxidants better,
00:33and that tiny change can make a big difference.
00:36Third, carrots and hummus, yum.
00:39Carrots contain beta carotene, which your body turns into vitamin A,
00:43but it needs fat to do that properly.
00:45So dipping them in hummus is doing you a massive favour because you get all those healthy fats.
00:49Fourth, garlic and onions.
00:52Together, they help your body absorb key minerals like iron and zinc more effectively,
00:56so that base that you're cooking, yes, it's actually working really well for your body when you eat it.
01:03And lastly, natural Greek yogurt and oats.
01:06Yogurt and oats both feed your gut bacteria.
01:10So together, they're a brilliant combination for your gut.
