00:00Well, finally, Paula, you know, I know that you know the president well, and he certainly has had an interesting
00:04journey in faith.
00:06But everyone's path is, of course, unique, my own included.
00:09People probably want to know how his faith has grown or deepened since his time in the White House, especially
00:14after Butler, Pennsylvania.
00:16So give us some insight into that.
00:17Well, you just said it.
00:19I mean, look, his foundation of faith is very strong.
00:21His mother was a very godly woman, praying woman.
00:24They went to church all the time, Sunday, but they also went to Sunday school, sometimes Saturday school.
00:30And he will say, and if the teacher was good, sometimes he'd go on Tuesday or Wednesday.
00:35So his foundation was very strong.
00:37His father would take him to Billy Graham Crusades.
00:40He went to Norman Vincent Pills.
00:42Loved Norman Vincent Pills.
00:44He had a lot of influence on him.
00:46He stayed till Norman Vincent Pills actually retired at the age of 92.
00:51And then as he grew in popularity and a businessman, and as so many people do in life, you know,
00:57he didn't attend as regularly.
00:58He went through some own life decisions and crisis of himself.
01:03And that's, I think, when he reached out to me about 25 years ago, he was watching people on television.
01:08If I started naming him, he'd go, oh, my goodness, oh, my goodness.
01:11And he can quote to you so many sermons.
01:13I mean, profound.
01:15But there was that, you know, gap.
01:17And he's always had faith in his life.
01:20He's always known Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior.
