00:00Emotionally at the start of season two, Allie is actually doing better, a lot better.
00:05And she's more regulated.
00:08She's taking her medication more regularly.
00:13And then she's starting to want independence from her brother.
00:17So she's kind of yearning to be her own person again instead of depending so much on her brother for
00:26support.
00:26So she's really trying to, like, get out of that situation as much as she possibly can.
00:32I mean, she is making some changes, right?
00:36She's teaching.
00:38She's, you know, trying to rebuild.
00:40How has that been for her?
00:43Well, I mean, if there's anyone who shouldn't be teaching children, it would be Allie.
00:48And that's what the fun thing about it is, is, like, how she finds herself as a teacher is, you
00:55know,
00:55because Amanda Peet's character, Mel, is like, I put your name in.
01:00And, you know, Allie's just kind of like, I don't know if that's a good idea.
01:05She's got, like, the good aunt, cool aunt, right?
01:08She gave some advice.
01:09Well, yeah, she's got good things to say.
01:11She's very intelligent, but also she's got a problem with her mouth, right?
01:14She does not, you know, hide it.
01:17She does not hold it in.
01:20So that's a bit of a problem when you have unruly teenagers in your classroom.
01:25And so, like, you know, she's very unsure if she's able to take on the task of this and very
01:32reluctant.
01:33She's got a lot of, you know, insecurity issues, especially when, you know, she, at the back of her mind,
01:41has to deal with her illness, her right puller.
01:44And so, you know, it's a scary thing to try to be, like, a reliable person to other people.
01:51Right.
01:52Where she's not reliable for herself, you know, in a way.
01:56And she's just trying to become independent.
01:58So just see this teaching gig as a little bit of a way to, like, get out from underneath her
02:02brother.
02:03Like, sounds weird, but get out from her brother, you know, as her handler, essentially, and to be independent again.
02:11But it's also, like, this is not the greatest idea for her to be in a classroom with a bunch
02:18of teenagers.
02:18Yeah.
