00:00I'm here at the Watches and Wonders trade show in Geneva.
00:03Over the course of the next week, 65 of the most important watchmakers in the world
00:07will show millions and millions of dollars worth of new timepieces.
00:10Here are some of the highlights.
00:11At Watches and Wonders, brands like Rolex, Patek Philippe, Tag Heuer, and Van Cleef & Arpels
00:17construct elaborate multi-floor booths to show off their new novelties,
00:20like the funky Rolex Oyster Perpetual with a Jubilee dial,
00:23which will be coveted by collectors and very hard to get.
00:26Patek Philippe debuted a smaller, all-platinum version of its famous Nautilus,
00:30which will be limited to 2,000 pieces.
00:32I expect a big fight among the select few who didn't afford it.
00:35One of the real oddities at the fair was a perpetual calendar made by IWC.
00:39It's all white, which means you can barely read it in the daylight.
00:42But in the darkness, it becomes a totally different experience.
00:46Cartier showcased jeweled marbles like the Grand du Café,
00:49a bracelet watch with flexible petals designed to look like coffee beans,
00:52a rare material called hafnio, which is so durable it's used in submarines and nuclear reactors,
00:58went into a panorized hafnio-tech Navy Seal watch.
01:01And at Hermes, visitors marveled at a watch that showed the face of a lion
01:05crafted entirely out of minuscule strips of leather. It's called the Roar.
01:10There are watches at many price points, from $2,000 up to the hundreds of thousands.
01:14By the end of the week, retailers from all over the world will have placed their orders,
01:18and will head back home to sell these marbles to the public at large.
01:21You may soon see them at a store near you, or if you're lucky, on your own wrists.
