00:06stopped at the German border and returned to the Czech Republic where he remains in custody.
00:11The night before, Marcos announced Ko was in the custody of Czech authorities in Prague after
00:15trying to cross into the Czech Republic without proper documentation. Ko has arrest warrants
00:21issued in the Philippines and his Philippine passport has since been cancelled due to those
00:24warrants. The Marcos administration has been eager to bring Ko back to the country since the flood
00:29control corruption scandal became public. Ko slipped out of the country even before the 20th Congress
00:34convened when no charges had been filed and no arrest warrants had been issued against him.
00:39He was former chair of the powerful House Appropriations Committee and is accused of
00:44being behind the manipulation of the national budget. A Rappler investigation also earlier
00:48found Ko retained beneficial ownership of SunWest, a company that bagged billions of pesos in government
00:53projects.
