00:13Just about a mile from the Atlantic.
00:15It is that time in the golf calendar for the annual visit to the Players Stadium course at TPC Sawgrass
00:22here in Ponte Vedra Beach with the 51st edition of The Players.
00:31I'm having a bad hair day.
00:33I didn't get to dry my hair so it's like all, it's like all coming down.
00:38No hat?
00:41I don't want to get bald.
00:47Players Championship, I mean, it's a major.
00:49There's a lot of points this weekend. There's a lot of money this weekend.
00:53What do you want? I don't have more.
00:55I don't have more.
00:57I've had some really good rounds out here and gone really low now a handful of times, I think.
01:02So I know how to do it, it's just sometimes doing it.
01:07That's beautiful.
01:09That's where you want me to go, right?
01:10That's exactly where I just said to hit it.
01:14I told him to exactly hit it right there.
01:17Like, literally, right where I was at.
01:19How would you describe this season in one word?
01:32Uh...
01:35What do you think?
01:37What do you think?
01:41Uh, yeah, I'd say, um...
01:50I, uh...
01:57I would describe the 2025 golf season as electric.
02:03Let's go, baby! Full swing season four!
02:06Netflix are back!
02:08Woo-hoo!
02:11I'm well aware of the story that's built in of not one on the PGA Tour,
02:15and I've had these chances and haven't closed things out.
02:17He's Mr. Nice Guy, but I think you have to be, like, a bit of a killer in you, and
02:20I think he has that.
02:22I'm on a roll!
02:23Growing up in Southern California, it was all skateboarding, surfing, beach.
02:27I was actually trying to hide that I was a golfer.
02:30Me too!
02:31I'm a late bloomer.
02:33You know, I've used that as fuel to prove people wrong.
02:37Let's go!
02:38Let's go!
02:40In big moments, either in the airplane or in golf.
02:43Clear!
02:44I can't think of anything else except what I'm doing.
02:48Performing in the majors is everything.
02:50And for whatever reason, that's eluded him.
02:52When the blowout's coming, there's no...
02:55Cut!
02:56If you're a player trying to make it, it can be a really, really difficult path.
03:01I was losing too much money. I had $17,000 in credit card debt.
03:04I needed to step away.
03:09Sorry for the emotions.
03:11We saw hearts broken, history made.
03:16The culmination of the most anticipated team events in the world of golf.
03:22We got this! We got this!
03:22USA!
03:23Bring it home, boys!
03:27They come into this arena, they have nowhere to run, nowhere to hide.
03:31The fans started to get aggressive.
03:34They started to get personal.
03:36You're still gonna choke!
03:37The hair's left, Tommy!
03:39Tensions can rise at any given time in a Ryder Cup.
03:42It's just a combustible situation out here right now.
03:45It's gotten heated!
03:46Whoa!
03:48Crazy!
03:49It's a way more difficult life than what people may think.
03:53Have enough self-awareness to know that it's not absolutely everything.
03:57It's something I'll be talking about for the rest of my life.
04:00I'm trying to put this behind me, but it's impossible.
04:03At the end of the day, it doesn't matter where you came from.
04:06It's about what you can do.
04:09Finally!
04:10For everything!
04:12You're gonna be an old man and you're not gonna wanna tell your kids that you missed it.
04:28And you've got world number two here.
04:32Just a few moments away here from officially closing out his second player's title.
04:40McElroy setting the stage for what could be a monster 20-25.
04:50And McElroy's got another player's title!
04:58Unbelievably proud and happy to win my second player's championship.
05:01And this is the third time I've won on St. Patrick's Day, so it's been a good luck charm for
05:05me.
05:05Two wins before April. Congratulations to Rory McElroy!
05:08Thank you!
05:12You know, I've been going for a long time and I've played well for a long time.
05:15And it's always nice to start the year with that sort of momentum.
05:19So nice and cool!
05:20Thank you!
05:21It's an exclusive club and you've made it even more exclusive.
05:25I won your second one.
05:27Thank you!
05:28You earned it, don't thank me!
05:29No!
05:30To see Rory McElroy come out the blocks in 2025 and have success so early on in the PGA TOUR
05:37schedule
05:37was a huge sign that he is in good form, in good spirits,
05:42and playing the kind of golf that might lead him to winning the Masters in 2025.
05:46Congrats again!
05:46Thank you!
05:47This is the year for April too, absolutely!
05:54Uh, okay.
05:57Golf balls.
06:00Golf gloves.
06:03Golf shoes?
06:05Yep.
06:06TGL is a newer team event founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McElroy.
06:13Tonight's matchup, Boston Common Golf versus Atlanta Drive GC.
06:19Players are assigned to cities and they're competing in this dome.
06:24Part of it is on a simulator and the other part is live in front of an audience.
06:31Yes!
06:33I am a traditionalist and I appreciate the history of the game and all that stuff,
06:38but if we want to get more people to play the game of golf,
06:42you need to have it more modern-facing.
06:47There's some fun team play in there as well, which will be a departure from what we do week in,
06:53week out.
06:57Hey!
06:58It's fun being partners with Rory for once.
07:01I'm normally always playing against him.
07:03Oh, yeah.
07:04Rory and I have known each other forever,
07:07and, you know, he lives in the same town I do, played a lot of golf with him.
07:11Favorite pro to be paired with and what?
07:13Rory.
07:13He's my teammate.
07:14Boston Common Frogs, baby.
07:16Last pro golfer I texted?
07:19This guy!
07:21He's very easy to talk to.
07:23It's really a fun thing for us.
07:25Just keep it on the green.
07:27Yeah. Okay, that's easy.
07:29That usually works on most holes.
07:30Yeah, yeah.
07:35I was talking on the way here, just the pressure of the Masters in general.
07:38Yeah. It doesn't feel like a normal tournament week.
07:41No, it doesn't.
07:41So what can we do to make it feel like a normal tournament week?
07:44I mean, yeah, I can't imagine sort of the pressure that you have at that.
07:50It's a big year.
07:51Eventful year.
07:53You know, once the Ryder Cup year comes along, the majors are the majors, but, you know, not far behind,
07:59you know, the Ryder Cup is right there.
08:02What have you got this week? Anything?
08:05I'm gonna take a couple days off.
08:07Okay, good.
08:08You feel so much better for it.
08:10You know, my role on the Boston Common is much different than my role on the Ryder Cup.
08:17Plus, we're two weeks off before a major. I don't want to get going too early on.
08:21Yeah, I know.
08:22Rory and I are not talking about the Ryder Cup of what I'm gonna do or what he's doing or
08:27what Europe's doing.
08:28Keegan and Rory may not be talking about the Ryder Cup, but they don't really need to.
08:34It's pretty clear exactly what their Ryder Cup ambitions are.
08:38I've said this for the last probably six or seven years to anyone that will listen.
08:44I think one of the biggest accomplishments in golf right now is winning an away Ryder Cup.
08:48And that's what we're going to do at Bethpage.
08:49Go on, Rory.
08:52I'm so honored to be the leader of this team and I'm going to Bethpage to win the Ryder Cup
08:58back for America.
09:06If you hit that white pole, I'll jump in the water right here.
09:10I hit one of those.
09:12Hit it, hit it, hit it.
09:14What?
09:16You'll give me one of your dollars?
09:19Here, use this one.
09:22Oh!
09:23You got it!
09:24Give me one of them dollars.
09:26Give me one of them dollars!
09:28What?
09:28Two?
09:30Wow, okay.
09:32Wow!
09:36When they called me to be the captain of the Ryder Cup team, it took me by surprise.
09:41It's pretty neat to experience something that not a lot of people in this sport has ever experienced.
09:46You really giving your pitch card to mama?
09:48Yeah, but you have to give me a full cup.
09:50Oh!
09:52That's a pretty good, that's the deal.
09:54Pretty much everything about Keegan Bradley being named captain for Team USA was unique and unprecedented.
10:02Let me see it.
10:04It's a really strange thing because I love this tournament so much, but it's been just so awful to me.
10:10My whole life.
10:13And I have these incredible memories, but I also have probably my worst memories of my golf career.
10:23Keegan Bradley to keep the match alive.
10:27No sir, it's another point for Europe.
10:29McEvoy wins 2-1, the first loss for Keegan Bradley.
10:33Bradley for Birdie to win the hole.
10:35We have a very complicated relationship with the Ryder Cup.
10:43It's brought our family so much heartbreak and anguish.
10:50There's no easy way to say this, my friend.
10:55I find it just best to go in a different direction this year.
10:58I didn't know it was coming and all of a sudden, bam, like here's your job and it is so
11:05heavy.
11:08But also, I'm just so grateful and humbled to even be a part of the Ryder Cup at this level.
11:20These teams, they're connections that last a lifetime.
11:32The Ryder Cup announcement really threw our world into like hyperdrive.
11:38It's still not that leveled out for me.
11:40Especially after last year, like I didn't know if I'd ever get to do this again.
11:44Mm-hmm.
11:44I didn't know.
11:45Yeah, I kind of grieved that too.
11:47Yeah.
11:47In a way, I'm just like...
11:48It was sad.
11:48Yeah.
11:49It was really, really sad.
11:50Because I couldn't even watch him for a while.
11:51I wouldn't look at any of the pictures just because it kind of stung.
11:55For sure.
11:57I definitely have nerves because it's just, I look up so much to, you know, the Tabitha
12:03Furex and the Kim Johnsons and...
12:05Yeah.
12:05I have to kind of step up and be that kind of leader, which is scary.
12:12I feel like in every aspect of my life now, I have to be the captain of the Ryder Cup
12:17team.
12:17Yeah.
12:17It doesn't, it can't compartmentalize at all.
12:21Leading into the Masters, you know, in the back of my mind I have my real day job here
12:25where I'm trying to win majors, trying to be one of the best players in the world.
12:28I feel as though I need to act and be the captain of the U.S. Ryder Cup team.
12:34Yeah.
12:34I think it'll be great.
12:37And I get to pick out outfits, so that's fun.
12:42Keegan's heading into the Masters looking to make some history,
12:45but other players are just hoping they don't repeat it.
12:49All right, Roars.
12:51Let's talk a little bit about this upcoming golf tournament called the Masters.
12:56Here's a list of people you probably hear often.
12:59Gene Sarazin, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus, and Tiger Woods.
13:03Yes.
13:04What's that group got in common?
13:06They have all won what is called the Career Grand Slam.
13:10The Career Grand Slam is winning all four majors, which has only been done five times in the history of
13:17the game.
13:19It's almost hard to put into perspective because it is truly historic.
13:26An unreal performance for Rory McIlroy.
13:30Rory won three of the four majors in short order.
13:33Champion golfer of the year is Rory McIlroy.
13:37But the remaining one has proven itself to be frustratingly elusive.
13:42And one would have to think it's probably not too long before he adds the U.S. Masters to his
13:47collection.
13:47A lot of guys have gotten to three legs out of the four, but to win all four, it makes
13:51you truly a legend of the game.
13:54You win the Career Grand Slam, you are in a different category.
13:56You're one of the all-time, all-time greats.
14:00For years, this has been the dominant storyline.
14:04Can Rory McIlroy win the Masters? That's it.
14:10Here is the arrival of Rory McIlroy.
14:15Really, you've got to go back to 2011 and what happened in that final round.
14:19Everyone had pretty much already anointed him as that year's Masters champion.
14:24And it all unraveled.
14:28And now, Rory, look out.
14:30Is that how it binds over there?
14:31What?
14:33Now, have you ever seen anyone anywhere close to this on 10?
14:36Never.
14:39Fourth shot.
14:40Through the tree.
14:42And that hit it.
14:43And he falls from first to seventh in one hole.
14:47I think that was something that he has been trying to recover from since then.
14:53People really want to see you clinch that Career Grand Slam.
14:56So you mentioned the Grand Slam before.
14:58Wondering where that Grand Slam is.
15:00Would have loved to have done it at this point.
15:04Another disappointing Sunday afternoon for Rory at Augusta.
15:08But it's not from a lack of trying.
15:10It's got to be awfully difficult for Rory to leave Augusta for the tenth consecutive time with a chance to
15:16win the Career Grand Slam.
15:18It's an amazing opportunity to join that list that you mentioned there with Tiger and Jack and Gary and Gene
15:26Syres and Ben Hogan.
15:27I mean, just like these mythical figures in the game of golf.
15:32You know, and if I were able to join them, that would be absolutely incredible.
15:35And I feel like this year I've got just as good of a chance as I've had any of the
15:40other years.
15:40So I'm excited for it.
15:45We welcome you here to Augusta, Georgia.
15:49It's the Par 3 contest at the 89th Masters.
15:54Keegan Bradley and his mustache.
15:56U.S. Ryder Cup captain.
15:59Might surprise you to hear that the mustache was my suggestion.
16:04He was nervous to get back on tour in the captain role.
16:09And I said to him, I was like, I think maybe try out a mustache.
16:13It's sort of an icebreaker.
16:18I don't know, I kind of did it as a joke for my family.
16:21It's a controversial topic amongst people.
16:23So either you love it or you hate it.
16:25With all of the noise surrounding Keegan, let's not forget, Keegan Bradley is one of the best players in the
16:31world.
16:39Might be the first one of the day.
16:41Please go in.
16:42Keegan Bradley!
16:43Yes!
16:47He's done it!
16:49And the question is, can he win his second major this week at Augusta?
16:54Or will the pressure be too much for him?
16:57And then you have Rory McIlroy.
16:59Rory McIlroy's daughter, Poppy.
17:02I think Rory McIlroy deserves to be in that rarefied air of the best to have ever played.
17:09But will he ever be considered in that group of players if he doesn't accomplish the feat of the Career
17:15Grand Slam?
17:21It's just such a fun afternoon.
17:23It's a really nice way to sort of end the preparation going into, you know, what is, you know, the
17:30serious part of the week.
17:31So it's nice to be able to get out here and do this.
17:39Laura, thank you and good afternoon from this 89th Masters Tournament.
17:44Defending champion Scotty Scheffler on the tee.
17:47And Justin Thomas has this for birdie.
17:54Shane Lowry.
17:56And he's two under far.
17:59The U.S. Ryder Cup captain, Keegan Bradley.
18:06Oh, Tommy Fleetwood.
18:12This would be his sixth birdie of the day.
18:16And Rory keeps on rolling.
18:19And off of a start for J.R.
18:21Rory.
18:23No crime to leave it short.
18:25Settle.
18:27Careful.
18:29Headed for disaster.
18:31Destined for the water.
18:34And Rory's been at least six shots back.
18:39The ninth time he has led or co-led after a round at Augusta.
18:44That's the most ever by anyone without a green jacket.
18:49You're living your dream.
18:50You're in the moment, striving to sort of win this tournament.
18:53It's a bucket list for anybody and everybody in the game, of course.
18:59Rory is definitely not off to the start that he was hoping for.
19:02And I don't know if that's, you know, he's trying too hard.
19:05He's not trying hard enough.
19:05Whatever it might be.
19:06But if you're going to win this tournament, you've got to put yourself in better position.
19:11Friday at the Masters.
19:12And we've got our leader, Justin Rose.
19:18Oh, what a shot from Justin Rose.
19:20You kind of know that something's bubbling, that you are producing in the bigger moments the level that's required to
19:28win.
19:29Chance to extend the lead to three.
19:32It is a comfortable looking Justin Rose right now.
19:37Now Rory.
19:41Rory.
19:43Rory.
19:44A dart.
19:45What a remarkable rebound today by Rory.
19:49At the cut line.
19:51Keegan.
19:55If you know Keegan Bradley at all, you know he is fiercely competitive.
20:00The stress of being a captain and all the things that come with that continue to build.
20:06Can he emotionally and mentally handle all of this?
20:10Just miss the cut.
20:12But as soon as I sign my card and I leave the ropes, I have to resume my role as
20:16captain.
20:18So, I stayed the weekend to see how our guys are doing.
20:22You know, these majors are basically two tournaments in one.
20:26These are the events that are going to really define our team.
20:31Why don't you interview Dad and ask him all your hard-hitting questions.
20:36What are your thoughts on being the 2026 Ryder Cup captain?
20:412025.
20:44Well, I see it's very interesting to you, Miss Reporter.
20:47You couldn't even get the year right.
20:48My name is Miss Bolognese.
20:50Miss Bolognese.
20:51I've been very fortunate with the Ryder Cup and what it's given to me.
20:55You know, I obviously have an amazing opportunity to go back to back.
20:59Look at that, perfectly cooked.
21:02Go on.
21:02Wow.
21:04Keegan, you know, I think his dynamic's a little bit different to mine.
21:08Number one Dadmo!
21:10This is like the second time he's cooked this year.
21:12And the first time was yesterday.
21:15I wanted to concentrate a lot on the Ryder Cup and play just enough events to be around the players
21:21enough.
21:21So, you know, I played a minimized schedule this year.
21:25He's still playing at a very high level.
21:27And to concentrate on being a great player and being a captain.
21:33It's tough to juggle both of those.
21:35What are you guys going to do if people are being mean to Team Europe in New York?
21:39Mm.
21:40Because that has a hint of barbecue.
21:42Oh, fight!
21:42Oh!
21:43Elliot, Elliot.
21:45For Luke, he's very good at being present and being in the moment, but also thinking ahead.
21:54Um, and that's, yeah, I don't know.
21:58He's a Sagittarius.
21:59That's just how he is.
22:01In 2012 at Medina, you know who went out first?
22:04Dad.
22:04Dad.
22:07I did.
22:09We, I think, learned so much doing it the first time.
22:13And I just think the experience is very helpful.
22:17Get it!
22:18Go!
22:20It's probably going to have quite a lot of continuity from Rome to this.
22:25And the best players are rising to the top again.
22:29You know, obviously to see Rory win the players is pretty special.
22:32He's a leader for us.
22:33And Rosie.
22:35With the Masters, it's hard to count out Justin.
22:38Yeah, he's getting a little bit older, but he seems to be able to rise to those big occasions.
22:48It's probably been eight months since we played a major championship, so there's a lot of time to think about
22:52the Masters.
22:54It's one of my favorites, you know, I've been there many, many times.
22:58Justin Rose is 45 years old.
23:01On tour, he's unk, and he's leading.
23:04It may be a shock to a lot of people, but let's not forget.
23:08He's been successful in every decade of his career.
23:11Sure, he's yet to win the Masters, but this is a Ryder Cup year.
23:15Ryder Cup is something that I dream about being a part of.
23:19I haven't missed a couple.
23:21I've only ever been picked once in the Ryder Cup.
23:23It was, uh, in 23, Luke gave me a call.
23:25I think Netflix saw that call come in live on the, uh, in the Garden.
23:29Hi, Luke.
23:30Well, I've got some good news, mate.
23:32You're in the team.
23:34Two other times I didn't play the Ryder Cup, I was on the wrong side of that phone call.
23:38Making the team by rights is huge, you know, not putting yourself in that position where you're waiting for the
23:42phone to ring,
23:43you know, kind of, you're in control of your own destiny.
23:45It's a big focus of mine this year, and I'm going to play my way into the team.
23:49If Justin can beat the best young players in the game and win the Masters, he may finally solidify himself
23:56as the best current player on the European continent.
24:01From the Augusta National Golf Club.
24:04We're live as the third round is underway.
24:07The season and brilliant in Justin Rose.
24:15Grimacing and leaning and that doesn't mean good things.
24:22Here's Rory.
24:23I don't know if he can, certainly can't land this on the green, can he, Dottie?
24:26I don't think so.
24:27I think it needs to land on the fringe.
24:29Going with the spinner.
24:34And it's in!
24:36Eagle chip at two.
24:39The start of your dreams.
24:41Led by one at the start of the day.
24:43Currently trails by four.
24:45This is for birdie.
24:49It's just got him being disbelieved what he's witnessing.
24:55I'm very, very, very, very, very frustrated.
25:01I feel like I've lost the Masters.
25:03I played great golf tee to green.
25:06I think I hit 16 out of the 18 greens.
25:09I think I had 37 putts.
25:10I lost five strokes on the greens.
25:12I walked off with 75.
25:13I turned 69 into 75.
25:16I'm super frustrated.
25:18It's an uphill battle for sure.
25:20But Sunday at Augusta, like, it is a sort of a spiritual day.
25:25I'm still having a good week.
25:27And I still believe it was a great round in me.
25:29And I still want to sort of realize how special it is
25:33to be playing Augusta National on the Sunday at the Masters.
25:35Like, it's still a childhood dream, right?
25:38I know I need to shift my mindset.
25:40I can prove that my game is still good enough to win at the highest level.
25:48Everything is coming together for a memorable day of golf.
25:52It might be one of the great days the game is seen in the modern era.
25:56Now driving, Justin Rose!
26:03I'm going into Sunday thinking, I don't know what's going to happen,
26:07but I know I'm going to remember this day for the rest of my life.
26:17I woke up this morning just really grateful to be Sunday at Augusta.
26:22It's a special day in the game of golf, no matter what.
26:25It's Roberto at the first.
26:28Just kind of went into the place that you dream about going to.
26:32Justin Rose!
26:36For us, I think we would just head down in the moment, hole after hole after hole,
26:40very much tunnel vision.
26:42Let's go to 11.
26:43Justin Rose, long distance away, 57 feet.
26:51Maybe not.
26:54You know, I felt so good with my game, felt so good with my mind.
26:58I wasn't looking at leaderboards.
26:59The only way I sensed that I was getting into it was the crowd.
27:06Oh, my goodness.
27:09Justin Rose is right back in the thick of it.
27:12Norris left himself the beautiful, safest angle, just 86 to the hole.
27:18Look for this, a little long, a little left.
27:21Oh, Rory.
27:24Oh, my goodness.
27:27Can't explain it.
27:33It feels like we're watching Rory relive his trauma and past disappointments in real time.
27:44Rose has got a short putt at 16 for birdie.
27:47What a big moment.
27:54The unthinkable just after.
27:56Fire outside.
27:57This ninth birdie of the day.
28:00Can McElroy turn around this momentum at the par five 15th?
28:08Is this enough?
28:10Is this enough?
28:11It is!
28:13Oh, more close!
28:18The shot of a lifetime!
28:23It's a painful experience watching this back nine.
28:26He keeps shooting himself in the foot, but then he keeps on bouncing back and putting himself right in the
28:30mix again.
28:33Rose has a putt to tie the lead.
28:38And in the hole!
28:39Got a chance!
28:41Oh, wow!
28:42What a putt!
28:44If you look back at what you wanted to achieve in your life, this is it.
28:47Ten birdies on the Sunday at Augusta.
28:49I left it all out there.
28:50I played as free as I could.
28:52Now, when it's not in your control, it's a very strange situation.
28:55I think he played brilliantly.
28:57So that was, I think, something that he could have so much pride in.
29:02Justin Rose has got to be thrilled with his final round, but at the same time, he's been here before.
29:07And if you bring up the 2017 Masters to him, he still, like, it still hurts.
29:12It's still very sensitive.
29:13It's a touchy subject.
29:14That was the last time the Masters went into a playoff, and he lost to Sergio Garcia in a tournament
29:18that he really feels like he should have won.
29:21And obviously, he doesn't want history to repeat itself again, but he might not even get the opportunity for a
29:26playoff if Rory can win this thing outright.
29:30Put it on the green.
29:32Green jacket might be yours.
29:35That's Gap Wedge on the way.
29:38He's leaning.
29:39Oh, my goodness!
29:42Is there another twist in this 89th Masters?
29:46Why not one more?
29:48And Rose continues to give himself possibility of a playoff, staying loose.
29:58Go.
30:02That putt.
30:04For the world.
30:10Can you do it?
30:12All of those moments lead to this.
30:38Going to a playoff.
30:39Go!
30:44Get him, Justin!
30:50I thought, you know, have I let this slip again?
30:57It's so hard to keep coming back every year and trying your best and not being able to get it
31:02done.
31:03It's so hard to stay patient.
31:05St. Andrews was a tough one to take because you only get a few opportunities there.
31:12The U.S. Open last year was awful.
31:22I've sometimes let that weight of expectation get the better of me.
31:26And, like, there's already enough expectation coming from outside and all the hype.
31:31I've always wanted to be on Netflix.
31:33I've always wanted to be on Netflix.
31:33Not all is cracked up today.
31:35I don't think you're going to be on Netflix.
31:36I don't think you're going to be on Netflix.
31:37It's not so good enough to, like, tell me how it fucking tell me how it is, but I'm not
31:41good enough before.
31:43Like, it feels so fun.
31:51Harry and I were walking to the golf cart to bring us back to the 18th tee.
31:58I've known Harry since I was seven years old.
32:00I met him on the putting green at Hollywood Golf Club.
32:05We've had so many good times together.
32:08You know, he's been like a big brother to me.
32:10And he said to me, well, pal, you would have given your right arm to be in a playoff at
32:15the start of the week.
32:16So that was an easy reset.
32:19Just stay the course.
32:20Just keep believing.
32:25You know, my warm-up.
32:26I went to hit balls for 20, 30 minutes there on the range.
32:29And, you know, I felt like every shot I hit was terrible.
32:31And then I heard he missed, and I was like, right, wow, let's go.
32:39First playoff at the Masters since 2017 when Justin Rose was a participant.
32:45Hole hits right next to the hole.
32:48I think when Justin hit his second shot in, I couldn't tell how close it was, but it looked like
32:53it was very close.
32:54So I felt like I had no option but to be aggressive with my second shot and take it right
32:59at the flag.
33:04This isn't going right.
33:06Might be going right at it.
33:08Should come back down at the slope.
33:17Oh, my goodness.
33:24I truly believe I'm a better player now than I was 10 years ago.
33:28I probably didn't understand myself.
33:30I didn't understand why I got myself in a great position in 2011.
33:35And I probably didn't understand why I let it slip.
33:39Look, you have to be the eternal optimist in this game.
33:56I've carried that burden since August 2014.
33:59Nearly 11 years.
34:00You need to be like that, guys.
34:02As the years have went on, I've just become more accustomed to the noise that sort of surrounds my whole
34:07Masters week.
34:08And I've become a little more comfortable with it.
34:12It's funny how these things work, but just so proud of myself that I keep coming back and putting myself
34:18in positions to win.
34:29The long journey is over.
34:32McElroy has his masterpiece.
34:34Peace.
34:35Peace.
35:03Yeah, we saw a part of history today
35:05and I mean I just said to him, I'm glad I was here on this green to witness you win
35:09the
35:09career grand slam. You know, that's such a cool momentous moment in the game of golf.
35:16What came out of me was at least 11 years if not 14 years of pent-up emotion.
35:39The Masters has eluded him for a long time and maybe the longer it takes the sweeter it
35:46makes the story.
35:49I really was happy for Roy. I felt a sense of pride that someone from my generation went
35:56out there and won the grand slam.
35:59He's like the greatest golfer of our generation. Winning the Masters was everything for him.
36:05It always has been. It has been for a long time.
36:07To be only the sixth person ever to complete the grand slam, that's weighty stuff. I mean,
36:13that is, you know, it's hard to put into words how good that is.
36:18Now, ladies and gentlemen, the 2025 Masters champion, Rory McIlroy.
36:31I go back to watching this tournament on the weekend with my father when I was seven and
36:36eight years old. To think that I'm up here wearing one of those green jackets is honestly,
36:43it's a dream come true. Like my dreams have been made today.
36:58You've now completed the career grand slam. Please share with us your thoughts at this moment.
37:06I'd like to start this press conference with a question myself.
37:10What are we all going to talk about next year?
37:16The United States Open is the hardest golf tournament every year.
37:20The majors are so stressful. When we're looking at guys that sort of burst onto the scene,
37:25we want to see the guys coming down the stretch at the biggest events.
37:29After the top few names, it's a bit of a free for all.
37:33Keegan Bradley, he's in this unique position to find new talent that we've never thought of before.
37:38My professional golf journey has been a roller coaster.
37:41Good flight, man.
37:42My dad was incredibly successful, but I play golf because I love to compete.
37:47When I grew up, I was actually trying to hide that I was a golfer.
37:51Me too.
37:51Pretty crazy. Here we are eating cake on Netflix.
37:56It doesn't matter where you came from. It's where you're at at the moment and what you can do.
37:59One of the most unlikely final round Sundays in US Open history.
38:44We have a wonderful mix.
38:47We are all alike.
