01:52eighth in the world with a bullet by the way I'm gonna go up to sixth or fifth he
01:56finished eighth in the PGA he finished seventh in the memorial he just won the
01:59travelers and enrich does he does he have the crowd on his side fires up the crowd
02:03went to St. John's knows that page black right there is guys got the crowd right I'd be
02:08taking a hard look at that guy you gotta I mean this definitely changes things I
02:14don't want to do the team an injustice by not considering playing if I think it
02:18can help us I'm not sure it does or will or if I will play but I'm gonna do
02:24what I think is best for the team

02:52play or not I can see it in your face that's no no no I know you're gonna make
03:01the right decision I appreciate that everyone was always talking about me
03:12being a player captain but my one rule was I'm not even going to consider this
03:17unless I win and then travelers that moment definitely made me go all right
03:24wait I can't be so closed off to this I have to be ready in case I have to play

03:30much within our marriage that's unspoken that we just know the win at travelers
03:35it's like okay I guess we gotta maybe start thinking about the possibility that
03:42this could happen you have a chance here to become a playing captain for the
03:49first time and I think it's been 62 years since that last happened in a Ryder
03:53Cup when you think about what makes Keegan Bradley a great leader it really is
03:58what has made him a great player his entire life there is nobody more
04:02competitive this is a guy from the Northeast who has spent his entire life
04:06with a chip on his shoulder whether it's made up or not that's the way he plays
04:12like people are always counting him out people are always doubting his
04:15abilities and he always wants to answer that Bell nobody loves representing the
04:21Northeast more than Keegan Bradley does when I got this job and I didn't have the
04:27vice captains the thought of playing was ridiculous now that I have this group of
04:31guys that could all step in and be the captain at any moment if I was to play I
04:38would lean on them a lot Keegan Bradley may have the hardest captain job to date
04:43you go ahead and rest close your hands on top
04:47yeah it's not just his own game that he has to worry about Keegan also has to watch
04:53everyone else play and assess who's going to earn these last six spots on his team
04:58and right now the options are wide open
05:05he wants someone who's fiery and he wants someone who's not going to shy away from the big moment because
05:11this moment is as big as it gets there we go oh he's drooling on me this is his this

06:08where Chris Goddard announces himself to the world at the Scottish Open here he is on foreign soil he's
06:20playing against specifically everyone that's going to be on the European Ryder Cup team that's like
06:26hmm wait a minute this this seems like a guy that would be a really good fit Chris Goddard he's
06:33won
06:33once on the PGA tour he's one clear of big names McElroy Fitzpatrick and Rose
06:43he's a great position right now oh wow this gorgeous shot by Goddard up and what a massive opportunity for
06:54Chris Goddard up oh right in the middle he got the win at Middle Beach last year but this would
07:03be huge career changing
07:05winning is one thing but thoroughly trouncing the Europeans on their own soil that kind of performance puts you on
07:14the
07:14map as a potential Ryder Cup pick this is taking on McElroy and beating him head to head in the
07:19final round
07:24and golf has a new up and comer you may not have recognized the name at the beginning of the
07:31week
07:31but you're not going to get it now held it together really well and then man it was so much
07:36fun out there
07:36we can hear the emotion in your voice why
07:48I don't know if I'm gonna be able to get it out but um everyone at home
07:54I don't know but I mean it's just awesome
08:00I'm from New Jersey golf wise it's not the mecca of PGA Tour professional golf it's cool to carry what
08:09I can you know by playing well and and representing New Jersey and the Northeast as a whole Chris Goddard
08:16is such a breath of fresh air on the PGA Tour and he came in late but listen he's a
08:21Jersey Shore boy when
08:23do we ever have Jersey Shore guys coming out on the PGA Tour right Chris Goddard is new to the
08:29scene came
08:30on sort of late in the year here find it fascinating he went to Rutgers I played at St. John's
08:34we were in
08:34the Big East together at the time I used to play the Rutgers tournament all the time really talented
08:39player hits it really far great short game he wasn't really on our radar to start the year at all
08:44and then won the Scottish Open and then played really well at the British Open it built a lot of
08:49confidence in me that I was able to go compete against some of the best in the world and on
08:54a
08:54big stage so Keegan said the last couple weeks you have to go out there and leave no doubt
09:08Keegan's definitely looking at guys who are a lot like himself
09:12guys with that Northeastern grit guys who have a similar chip on their shoulder the types of guys
09:20who have felt overlooked in past Ryder Cups Cameron Young is golf royalty in terms of northern part of New
09:30New York in the Westchester County I believe they're referred to as the first family of golf I'm gonna go

09:40no god you guys get that one I grew up the son of a PGA head professional it's in New
09:47York
09:47Sleepy Hollow Country Club so my family was was in the business and I basically was brought home from the
09:54hospital and put the golf cart and never looked back Cameron Young has a mantle full of first place
10:01trophies from 2012 alone to make that Ryder Cup team it's been something circled on my calendar basically
10:08since it was announced when I was in high school that it was gonna be at that venue at Bethpage
10:11that
10:12place is somewhere I have loved from a very young age I was taken to watch the US Open there
10:19when I was a
10:19little kid and then our state open was there every year Cameron Young's the guy who won basically every
10:25amateur event there was to win in New York including when he was much younger I think a teenager he
10:30set
10:30the course record at Bethpage black in the state open green is so fast I actually see similarities with
10:39Cameron and I Cameron is going to the golf course with a goal he's gonna accomplish that goal and leave
10:45if he's not there to socialize and I think that maybe has held him back from maybe making some of
10:50the other teams 2023 I got passed over I think from ninth on the points list and hey thanks for
10:58taking
10:58the call given where we are it's just felt like this was the right move at the time I took
11:04it pretty
11:05hard it didn't didn't feel good to be left off from that position similar to Keegan I know he was
11:10in
11:10I think 11th or 12th it hurt at the time but I think looking back I was playing okay but
11:16nothing
11:16spectacular Cameron Young is an unbelievable story the beginning part of his season was lackluster to
11:23say the least I think he missed six out of his first 11 cuts that's not going to do it
11:29in a Ryder Cup year
11:32and then he starts to find something
11:40in record fashion Cameron Young wins the Wyndham Championship of 2025 his first victory on the
11:47PGA Tour after seven second place finishes where do I go I've never done this before
11:53congratulations you know Keegan had called me after Wyndham and said hey buddy you know great
11:59plan but I need to see a lot more it's a once in a lifetime opportunity to represent your country
12:06and your home state and a place that I have some history at he knows this golf course like the
12:11back
12:12of his hand so if there is a decision do we want to bring Cameron Young that could be something
12:17that
12:17puts his candidacy over the top is his familiarity with the area tour championships coming up that event
12:24is just a huge opportunity to cement myself in the question for Ryder Cup to make that team would be
12:31one of the greatest accomplishments of my career
12:36welcome back to another tour championship here at East Lake we are here in Atlanta for the tour
12:43championship it's it's crunch time for the Ryder Cup six guys already know on the American side that
12:48they're going to be on the team at Bethpage Black and then there's these six captains picks that are going
12:52to be made on Tuesday so Keegan Bradley has a lot to chew on this week all the picks are
12:58tough we're
12:58going to do the best we can and it's going to be controversial to certain people either way you've
13:04got guys who I feel like I've done enough to earn their spot Justin Thomas and Colin Morikawa I don't
13:09think you're ever comfortable until you get that call and you're on the team and then you know
13:13there's there's other guys who are on the bubble and we're looking at guys that we know can handle the
13:19situation can handle the Ryder Cup pressure obviously this year it's a unique situation
13:24because Keegan Bradley is one of the guys that Keegan Bradley is thinking about picking you said this is
13:30the hardest decision of your life you're talking about possibly picking yourself that decision yeah
13:35when the captain has to impress the captain that's when it gets to be a really interesting situation it's
13:40a really strange thing to to kind of ponder you know making the picks and then thinking about picking
13:47yourself it's like ridiculous Patrick Cantlay is in that conversation Sam Burns Cameron Young Brian
13:56Harmon Ben Griffin has been a breakout star this year on the PGA Tour Maverick McNeely I feel like had
14:03fallen outside the conversation and then just played his way right back in it with a third place at the
14:09BMW
14:09last week so he's in that limbo too there's like five or six guys for two spots right now Chris
14:16Goddorup needs to do something special at Eastlake I think to really be a serious contender for one of
14:21those final spots really frog in the car maybe that's like a luck thing that means something I'll take
14:34the good the good vibes yeah I think that good old man yeah so the European team is interesting it
14:42seems like it's going to be the same core group maybe 11 out of the 12 guys from 2023 they've
14:50got
14:50the guys that are mathematically qualified including Justin Rose who just won two weeks ago and Justin
14:55Rose wins the FedEx St Jude Championship Team Europe is geared up for the Ryder Cup but there's one guy
15:03that still has some unfinished business Tommy Fleetwood is still chasing his first PGA Tour win and this is
15:09his last chance of the year other than maybe a major is this like the ultimate place to have your
15:14first win
15:15I think this would be I think it would be pretty funny if I won this week and then at
15:19the FedEx Cup as
15:20well I think that would be funny but no I'm not going to be picky
15:43you're full shots I just did a little wedge I like it we now live in Dubai we opened up
15:54a
15:54academy here and we just felt like it was an opportunity to move really we'd always lived
16:00in the UK and I think we're always just open-minded about you know we'll give it a go we'll
16:06move out to
16:07Dubai put the kids in school we've got the Academy you know four years and counting and we're still going
16:12and it's been amazing for us
16:18that really didn't sound good that's good I've just hired him as a performance director for my golf so
16:26it's gonna do his best to try and help me out Tommy Fleetwood was a top junior golfer in England
16:33he
16:35turned professional in 2010 not only did he win on the European tour but he also delivered points for the
16:41European Ryder Cup team everybody knows how talented Tommy Fleetwood is so why hasn't he won on the PGA
16:49tour Tommy Fleetwood he'll have plenty more chances he must be just a little deflated today second as
16:58the best they can do it's my second runner up in a major which is which is great and I'm
17:03trending in
17:04the right way I just hope my time will come eventually here is Fleetwood this to be no worse
17:12than in a playoff oh goodness absolute heartbreak for Tommy Fleetwood incomprehensible in a lot of ways
17:25what is the burden of trying to get that first PGA Tour win feel like obviously there's a lot of
17:30chat
17:30about it I I think I'd have looked to have done it today search goes on I guess when it
17:38happens it'll
17:38be very very sweet and now Tommy Fleetwood outside of seven feet I think this is for six one putts
17:46in a
17:46row and a terrible putt unbelievable there are a lot of Tommy Fleetwood fans out there who are
17:54absolutely crushed right now your optimism is something that fans really continue to admire
18:00truly where it is where do you draw that from and how does it continue to drive you uh well
18:05as long as
18:05they stay with me and stay on my side then we can all uh we can all look for the
18:09positives Tommy has had
18:11some really tough losses and uh you know I was trying to message him a bunch of times throughout
18:17that process that you know it's putting yourselves in those positions and learning from what you did
18:22well and what you didn't do well is a really strong thing as long as you frame it the right
18:27way
18:31I'm well aware of like the story that's building of not one on the PGA Tour and I've had these
18:36chances
18:36and haven't closed things out so I'm aware of all that stuff but once something's happened there's nothing
18:41you can do about it you can just deal with what happens next sometimes it's very difficult but
18:45you just have to force yourself mentally to accept what's happened and then crack on obviously there's
18:52been some times that we rather would go a different way but this season is he's got a lot closer
18:59he's
19:00always going to believe in himself being a PGA Tour winner but I think he looks really close
19:09overcast guys continue over the city of Atlanta as we say good morning from Eastlake and the second
19:14round of the Tour Championship to decide the FedEx Cup 232 for Ben Griffin
19:23oh what a shot another guy looking for that Ryder Cup pick this is the 12th and the second for
19:29McNeely off to a slow start yesterday trying to bring things back McNeely now 10th and Ryder Cup points
19:38a lot of guys out there trying to get Captain Keegan Bradley's attention this week Cameron Young in the
19:45fairway from 125 location tucked on that front right here Keegan Bradley to get it to five under
19:55oh yeah which made some long ones the last couple of days including three in a row what's going through
20:01that brain of his right now a lot couple more days to those six picks for the Ryder Cup at
20:0614 got her up
20:07trying to keep this run going he has really gotten into gear after the first round there's some late
20:13break there that gets it to six under for the day Chris got her up has raced up the board
20:20with those six
20:21birdies meanwhile Cameron Young on the tee at 11 with a six iron for this hole location where you
20:28have to fly it over here and hopefully stop it oh like that just like that Fleetwood looking for a
20:35lengthy birdie unlikely putt to make but giving it a run unlikely you say that hit the back of the
20:43hole
20:43up by two Tommy Fleetwood this is going to be a big weapon for the European players and the Europeans
20:49will be heavy favorites at the Ryder Cup Tommy's just been rolling through the playoffs but still
20:57hasn't broken through yeah yeah very light but I think it's enough I like it nothing's hard then
21:07do you talk about a disappointment in Memphis for Fleetwood the latest of the disappointments he let
21:15wouldn't get away at the travelers how crazy it would be if Fleetwood was able to break through at this
21:31tour championship you know you're down to the last event and you really want to get out to a good
21:34start early on in my career I would get to the end of the season and I would always be
21:39pretty tired
21:39you start playing a bit poorly like your attitude kind of drops you get a bit angry at things and
21:44they're just waiting for the season to finish and I remember looking at the very very best players and I
21:48always seemed so like fresh and ready like all the way to the very end yeah beautiful speed there so
21:54I remember watching them and I thought you know I need to work on that like I need to that's
21:58where I
21:58need to be and I'm always striving to be one of the best players 64 63 for Fleetwood Fleetwood and
22:14Henley
22:15share the lead at the halfway mark
22:25I'm already trying to channel everything I can into this week getting the call from Keegan saying
22:31I'm in would be an incredible vote of confidence it would be an incredible responsibility to compete
22:38for an entire country that's rooting for us to kick their asses so I hope that I can play well
22:44enough to
22:55earn that spot when I think of the Ryder Cup and you know the magnitude of it and it's hard
23:01to not
23:01make it a bigger deal than what it is but you know I try to do my best
23:14it's not like I'm playing scared here in these last couple weeks to make it at the start of the
23:19year if you said Ryder Cup I'd be like I have no chance I mean unless I go catch fire
23:24and I did that and you know hopefully finish this week off strong and have a chance
23:31I'm feeling pretty good I feel like I've kind of got it in my hands and I think having a
23:38good finish opens up just my mind to the fact that I can do it anywhere and it's just a
23:44really good proving ground for you know what kind of mental toughness you can bring to the table which is
23:49obviously essential in those team events
23:57I feel like I feel like I still need to prove a lot this week at the tour championship there's
24:04a lot of things going through Keegan's mind right now I'm sure but all I know is I have to
24:08continue to play exceptionally high level golf and prove to Keegan that he should have no doubt in picking me
