00:02This is one of the most forbidden places on earth, and it is in India.
00:07A place so dangerous, so untouched, that even the Indian government stays away.
00:12And yet, in 2025, an American YouTuber decided to go there anyway,
00:17carrying a Diet Coke and a coconut as gifts,
00:20in an attempt to make contact with the tribal people there.
00:24Hours later, Mikhailo Viktorovich Polyakov was behind bars.
00:28This is North Sentinel Island, a part of India's Andaman and Nicobar Islands,
00:34home to the Sentinelese tribe.
00:36But here's the thing, history has a way of warning you before it punishes you.
00:41In 2004, after a deadly tsunami, an Indian Coast Guard helicopter hovered over North Sentinel to check for survivors.
00:49A man stepped out of the dense forest, barely clothed, bow in hand.
00:53He looked up, took aim and fired.
00:55An arrow cut through the air, straight at the helicopter.
00:58The message, we don't need you.
01:00But one man didn't listen.
01:02An American national, John Allen Chow, in 2018.
01:06A missionary who wanted to preach Christianity to the Sentinelese.
01:09He hired local fishermen, reached the island illegally and tried to make contact.
01:14On his final attempt, he went alone and never came back.
01:18Fishermen later claimed they saw the Sentinelese dragging his body across the shore and burying it.
01:24John Allen Chow's body was never recovered.
01:26Just like that.
01:27This became another warning.
01:29Because the people who live here are one of the last uncontacted tribes on Earth, the Sentinelese.
01:34They are believed to descend from some of the earliest human migrations out of Africa, over 50,000 years ago.
01:41An island protected by dense forests and coral reefs.
01:44It's estimated that around 50 to 150 people live here.
01:48Researchers can only rely on aerial sightings or distant observation, not direct counting.
01:54Do they even get married?
01:55No one knows.
01:56They survive by hunting, fishing and gathering.
01:59Using bows, arrows and simple tools.
02:02They live in small groups and they have made one thing very clear.
02:05They do not want contact.
02:07The real danger is not them.
02:08It's us.
02:10They have no immunity to outside diseases.
02:12Even a common cold could spread through the entire tribe.
02:16Which is why India enforces a strict law.
02:19The Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
02:21Protection of Aboriginal tribes.
02:23Regulation 1956.
02:24No one is allowed near the island.
02:27No contact.
02:28No exceptions.
02:29Because here, curiosity can cost lives.
