00:00Good evening, you're watching India First. I'm Gaurav Savan.
00:03That big, demagy, naxal showdown between the ruling BJP and the opposition Congress, that's just escalated.
00:11Remember from the ramparts of the Red Fort, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he spoke of the country's success,
00:18his government's success in combating Red Terror and eliminating it.
00:24The threat of the armed Maoists, but then he flagged the threat of demagy naxals,
00:31perhaps the intellectual naxals, who perhaps still posed a huge challenge.
00:38And he said, there's need to identify them and there is need to isolate them.
00:43And he said this from the ramparts of the Red Fort.
00:44The opposition has now launched a counter-attack.
00:48They've launched a campaign of sorts against this statement of the Prime Minister
00:51with senior Congress leader and former union Home Minister and Finance Minister
00:57during the Congress government, P. Chidambaram.
01:01He said, proud to be a demagy naxal.
01:04PDP Chief and former Chief Minister of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir,
01:08Bebooba Mufti, and Aam Admi Party Supremo and former Chief Minister of Delhi,
01:14Arvind Kejriwal, they too said that they take great pride in being called demagy naxals.
01:18The opposition says anyone who speaks against the Narendra Modi government
01:23or challenges the ideology of the BJP and the Sangh is now being branded a demagy naxal
01:29or an intellectual naxal.
01:31But the BJP has once again hit back.
01:34They insist the Prime Minister's statement wasn't directed at the opposition at all.
01:39The BJP says demagy naxal is someone who actually justifies armed terror of the Maoists.
01:46People who provide intellectual cover to armed terrorists.
01:52Those who reject constitution of India.
01:55Those who support separatism.
01:57And they've gone to the extent of saying, you know, the Tukude Tukude gang.
02:01Those who seek the return of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.
02:04Or those who back those who say, let's cut off India at the Northeast.
02:10Let's cut off India's chicken's neck.
02:12And those who justify it as freedom of speech and expression.
02:16Those are the intellectual naxals who give cover fire to the terrorists.
02:21To the armed terrorists.
02:22And they are no less dangerous claims the BJP.
02:25At the same time, the BJP has hit out at the Congress in particular.
02:29The Home Minister, former Home Minister,
02:32Peecha Dambaram in particular, over its approach to the Red Terror.
02:35They've cited a statement by former Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh in 2006.
02:42Dr. Manmohan Singh, late Dr. Manmohan Singh, had said in 2006 that it would not be an exaggeration to say
02:50that the problem of naxalism is the single biggest security challenge ever faced by our country.
02:59So the big question is, who is playing politics on a very critical issue of national security, on Red Terror?
03:07Remember, there was once a corridor all the way, as the Home Minister, Amit Shah,
03:12describes that corridor from Thirupati to Pashupati.
03:16A red corridor from the Nepal border, going all the way down, even to Karnataka,
03:21with parts of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka.
03:29And of course, offshoots of these red terror organizations spreading to other parts,
03:35spreading the tentacles to other parts.
03:36Bihar, Jharkhand, Bengal.
03:38That was the extent.
03:40180 districts of our country were provided.
03:43We'll talk about that in greater detail.
03:44Who's providing intellectual cover to naxalism?
03:48We'll also talk about the controversy over the alleged insult to our national song, Vande Mathram.
03:56The BJP has come out all guns blazing against Sonia Gandhi
04:00and leader of opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi.
04:03For that picture that's going absolutely viral,
04:08the BJP and some of the supporters,
04:10they're seeking a clarification from the Congress
04:13to come clean on the gestures of Sonia Gandhi.
04:19Did she say words to the effect, stop?
04:21The BJP alleges Sonia Gandhi disrespected the national song
04:25by asking for the singing of all six stanzas to be stopped midway.
04:29The BJP has accused Rahul Gandhi of saying Vande Mathram,
04:33they don't sing it, or words to the effect that we don't sing it.
04:37We will discuss the politics around both these controversies coming up at 8.35 tonight.
04:42And you cannot miss this story.
04:43It's the big crackdown, nationwide crackdown,
04:47on sleeper cells of Pakistan's ISI in India.
04:50And Union Home Minister Amit Shah has given details,
04:53saying India has dismantled the ISI-backed Shahzad Bhatti terror network,
04:58foil plans of subversive attacks ahead of Independence Day.
05:02And there were near-simultaneous raids carried out across the country,
05:06and arrests made through 14 states.
05:09More than 200 operatives suspected,
05:12ISI sleeper cells and their enablers
05:15taken into custody across 14 states.
05:18Improvised explosive devices have been recovered.
05:20Pakistan Ordnance Factory POF marked grenades have been recovered.
05:24Arms and ammunition in large quantities,
05:26according to the Ministry of Home Affairs,
05:28they've been recovered.
05:29But there is a bigger picture that's still approaching
05:32because these raids and these searches continue even as we speak.
05:35There are 500 plus suspicious mobile numbers
05:40and individuals who are under the scanner.
05:43Social media units,
05:45social media being used by select of these operatives,
05:50they've been split into various sleeper cells and units,
05:53used to recruit Indians to be a part of ISI sleeper cell.
05:58CCTV cameras were installed at sensitive locations.
06:01CCTV cameras with a telephone number chip.
06:04And real-time images were being transmitted on the movement
06:09of our security forces, of our army.
06:12Railway movement of military trains, for example.
06:15And Pakistan-based handlers allegedly directed
06:18these sleeper cells to carry out tasks on Indian soil,
06:22to carry out a big terror attack.
06:23At the center of this web is Shahzad Bhatti.
06:28That man you see on your television screen.
06:31Now, investigative agencies say,
06:33Shahzad Bhatti is a Pakistan-based terror handler.
06:35He's linked to a series of grenade attacks and IED blasts,
06:39targeted killings and espionage within our country.
06:41We'll get you more details at 8.35 tonight.
06:44How this network recruited people,
06:47how the lure of money,
06:50radicalization through religion,
06:51how it operated and how a major part of this module
06:54has been dismantled, searches continue.
06:57But first up, we bring you this ground report
06:59on this big political fight between the BJP and the Congress,
07:02the government and the opposition
07:04on the Dimaagi Naksal
07:06and this controversy over Wande Matram.
07:14The Independence Day fireworks continue.
07:18But this is not about patriotism.
07:21It is pure politics.
07:25The phase-off between the BJP and Congress continues
07:28over Prime Minister Modi's Dimaagi Naksal attack
07:31during his Independence Day address.
07:34Prime Minister said,
07:36armed Naksalism had been decisively dealt,
07:39but warned that its ideological ecosystem
07:42could still promote violence and anarchy
07:45and need to be identified and isolated.
08:06And the opposition is outraged.
08:10They claim anyone who opposes the government
08:12is branded a Naksal.
08:13First, it was urban Naksal.
08:15Now, it is Dimaagi Naksal.
08:32Senior Congress leader, P. Chudamram,
08:34proudly called he's a Dimaagi Naksal.
08:39P. D. P. D. P. Chief Mehmova Mufti followed,
08:41saying she supports Article 370
08:44and is a proud Naksal.
08:46And Aamadmi Party Chief Arvind Kejriwal
08:49has joined the chorus.
08:51I, Arvind Kejriwal,
09:00The BJP has hit back,
09:02claiming it never called the opposition Naksals.
09:05The BJP insists a Dimaagi Naksal
09:08is someone who supports Maoist violence,
09:11rejects the Constitution,
09:13stands with separatists,
09:15advocates the restoration of Article 370,
09:17or seeks to sever the Northeast
09:20from the rest of the India
09:21through the chicken's neck.
09:24And then there is the other Independence Day flashpoint,
09:27the storm over the alleged insult
09:29to Vande Mataram by Sonia Gandhi
09:31during the Independence Day celebrations.
09:34Home Minister Amit Shah
09:35has accused Sonia Gandhi
09:37of disrespecting Vande Mataram
09:39and demanded an apology.
10:00The BJP has been releasing
10:02a series of clips
10:03in which Rahul Gandhi
10:05can allegedly be heard saying
10:06Vande Mataram should not be sung here.
10:25In response,
10:26the Congress maintains
10:27there was no disrespect
10:28to the national song
10:30and that Sonia Gandhi
10:31was merely asking for a chair
10:33for Kharage
10:34in the now viral video.
10:36But that claim
10:38has been punctured
10:39by the Congress MP himself.
10:57Multiple complaints
10:58have now been filed
10:59against Rahul Gandhi
11:00and Sonia Gandhi
11:01seeking action
11:02against them
11:03under the new law.
11:04Demaghi Naksal
11:06on one side.
11:07One Day Mataram
11:08on the other.
11:10A full-blown political war
11:12over the definition
11:13of patriotism.
11:15Bureau Report,
11:17India Today.
11:24In the strong,
11:25noisy, vibrant democracy,
11:27you have the opposition
11:28taking on the government
11:29over what the Prime Minister
11:31said from the ramparts
11:33of the Red Fort
11:33need to identify
11:35and isolate
11:36Demaghi Naksals
11:37and former Home Minister
11:39Pichad Amram,
11:40who's actually,
11:41when he was in government
11:42as Home Minister,
11:44led that Operation Green Hunt,
11:45fought, you know,
11:47strategized,
11:48fighting the Red Terror,
11:49says I'm proud to be
11:50a Demaghi Naksal.
11:52Let's try and make sense
11:53of these developments.
11:54Dr. Vikram Singh
11:55joins us as a security expert.
11:57Charu Pragya defends
11:58the BJP.
11:59Mohan Kumar Mangalam
12:00is the national spokesperson
12:01of the Congress Party.
12:02Also with me
12:03is Priyanka Kakkar,
12:05chief national spokesperson
12:06of the Aam Admi Party.
12:07Let me begin.
12:08Let me begin by asking
12:10Mohan Kumar Mangalam,
12:12you know,
12:13you're reading, Mohan,
12:15of the former Union
12:17Home Minister
12:18and Finance Minister
12:19saying proud to be
12:20a Demaghi Naksal.
12:22Now, this is a Home Minister
12:23and I have reported
12:25this on ground.
12:26The war on Red Terror,
12:28Operation Green Hunt,
12:29his strategy,
12:30his efforts,
12:31he knows the problem.
12:32Dr. Manmohan Singh
12:32had said,
12:34you know,
12:35Naksalism is the biggest threat
12:36our country faces.
12:37Now he says,
12:38I'm proud to be
12:38a Demaghi Naksal.
12:39Your take on this?
12:43Gaurav,
12:44what do the words
12:44Demaghi Naksal mean?
12:45This is just old wine
12:47in a new bottle.
12:49These words have been
12:50used in the past
12:51by the Prime Minister,
12:52by the Home Minister
12:52when he's called
12:54people who protested
12:55or who disagree with him
12:56urban Naksals,
12:58Andolan GVs,
12:59Tukade Tukade Gang.
13:00At different points in time,
13:02they've used different terms
13:03to dispelage anybody
13:04who chooses to question
13:06their methods,
13:06choose to question
13:07their decisions,
13:08question their authority.
13:10And in that vein,
13:11Mr. Chidambra
13:12has said that
13:13he's also
13:13Demaghi Naksal.
13:15You know,
13:15the Prime Minister himself,
13:16I remember during
13:17the election campaign,
13:19had actually used
13:20the word urban Naksal
13:21to refer to people
13:22who were against
13:22the caste census.
13:23It's a different matter
13:24that he turned around
13:25and actually started,
13:26you know,
13:26decided to implement
13:27the caste census
13:28or announced that
13:28they were going
13:29to implement it rather.
13:30So these terms
13:31do not refer to
13:32actual Naksals
13:33or the ones
13:35that Mr. Chidambra
13:36when he was
13:37Home Minister
13:38was the hardest on.
13:39In fact,
13:39as you mentioned
13:40with Operation Green Hunt,
13:41this is merely
13:42another reference,
13:43another veiled reference.
13:44And in this
13:45current context,
13:46obviously refers
13:47to the recent
13:48student protest
13:48which they
13:50cracked down on
13:51brutally.
13:51and now they're
13:53coming up with
13:53a term to justify.
13:55So let me get
13:55Charu Pragya
13:56to respond to that.
13:58Charu Pragya,
13:58you heard
13:59Mohan Kumar Manglam
14:00and the Congress
14:01Party and the
14:02opposition,
14:02I mean,
14:02you have PDP,
14:04you have Aam Admi Party,
14:05they're all saying
14:06Dimagi Naksal
14:08is just a
14:09political label
14:11to silence
14:12any criticism,
14:13any dissent.
14:15What is the
14:15definition of
14:16Dimagi Naksal
14:17for you?
14:19Gaurav,
14:20a very good evening
14:20to you and good
14:21evening to all
14:22our viewers.
14:22Dimagi Naksal
14:24is not a term
14:25which has been
14:25coined just now
14:27only by Modiji.
14:28If I take you
14:29back to February
14:302010,
14:31then Home Minister
14:32of our country,
14:33today's Senior
14:34Congress Leader
14:35Peet Chidambaram
14:36said that
14:37intellectual support
14:38to the Maoists
14:39is a big problem.
14:40Shortly,
14:41during the same
14:42period of time,
14:43then Prime Minister
14:45of our country,
14:46Sri Manmohan Singh
14:47said that the
14:47single biggest
14:48internal security
14:49challenge
14:50ever faced by
14:51our country
14:52is Naksalism.
14:53So today,
14:54the word Naksal
14:55which has been
14:56written in the
14:57blood of Indian
14:58civilians and
14:58security personnel
15:00cannot be used
15:01as a political
15:03brownie scoring
15:04point by these
15:05very same people.
15:06And you know,
15:06the irony is
15:09unbelievable
15:09because a person
15:11who was a
15:11home minister
15:12of our country
15:13was privy to
15:14intelligence reports
15:15that we'll never
15:16end up seeing
15:17Gaurav.
15:17This person
15:18knew what
15:19Maoist networks
15:20were doing.
15:21This person
15:21knew very
15:22clearly that
15:23these Maoist
15:24networks were
15:24being supported
15:25by so-called
15:27intellectuals
15:27outside their
15:28circle,
15:29finances outside
15:30their circle.
15:31And I have
15:31been saying this
15:32time and time
15:32again.
15:33The state can
15:34punish an
15:34unlawful activity.
15:36Yes, definitely.
15:37The state has
15:38achieved now
15:39zero Naksalism
15:40and that's
15:41massive progress
15:41for our country.
15:42But only society
15:44can reject an
15:45ideology.
15:45And this is
15:46what Modiji
15:46said in his
15:47speech.
15:47He was
15:48categorically
15:48clear.
15:49The difference
15:50is very clear.
15:50Naksalism is an
15:52ideology.
15:53And it is.
15:54It is Gaurav.
15:55Allow me 10 more
15:56seconds to expand
15:57on that ideology.
15:5810 more seconds.
15:59An ideology which
16:00says that power
16:01needs to be seized
16:02through a barrel
16:02of a gun,
16:03not through voting
16:04is the ideology
16:06of Naksalism.
16:06Now anybody who
16:07defends this by
16:08writing about it,
16:09by financing it,
16:10by defending it,
16:12by romanticizing it,
16:13all these people
16:14for me,
16:16for my party,
16:17for my prime minister
16:17fall under the
16:18category of
16:19Dimagi Naksals
16:19and that needs
16:20to stop.
16:21This ideology
16:21needs to be
16:22nipped in the bud.
16:23Today when somebody
16:24talks about
16:24cutting off the chicken
16:25I think Priyanka
16:25has a poster up.
16:26I want Priyanka
16:28Karkar and that
16:29poster for a moment.
16:31Priyanka, welcome.
16:33That poster says
16:34May Bhi Dimagi Naksal
16:36if I can read
16:36correctly.
16:38Tell me Priyanka
16:40May Bhi Dimagi Naksal
16:42and hashtag
16:43Dimagi Naksal.
16:44Okay, explain
16:45why are you
16:46Dimagi Naksal
16:47because the BJP
16:48says Dimagi Naksal
16:49are those
16:50and you heard
16:51Charu Pragya
16:52those who give
16:53intellectual cover
16:54to armed terror.
16:59You see the ideology
17:01good evening to
17:02everyone Gauravji
17:02to you to the
17:03panelists to your
17:04viewers.
17:04Now the thing is
17:05that the BJP
17:06is most scared
17:07only of one
17:08ideology which
17:09supports the theory
17:10that pen is
17:11mightier than
17:12the sword
17:12and we are
17:13believers of
17:14that ideology
17:14and that therefore
17:15the problem.
17:16Now you see
17:16they have a problem
17:17with anyone who
17:17questions them
17:20on any of their
17:20policies.
17:21If you ask them
17:21why you spent
17:22my 50,000 crores
17:23and where is
17:24the 100 smart
17:24cities you promised
17:25I will be called
17:26a Dimagi Naksal.
17:27I will be called
17:27a Dimagi Naksal
17:28if I ask them
17:29that you said
17:30that you will
17:34if I ask them
17:39that you said
17:42you will spend
17:43my money
17:43but not
17:43school
17:44therefore I will
17:45be a Dimagi Naksal.
17:46I am a Dimagi Naksal
17:47if I question them
17:48that you said
17:49you get an award
17:51the Prime Minister
17:52recently got an award
17:53a fake award
17:54you know
17:55no less
17:55on environment
17:56whereas we are
17:57ranking 176
17:59and on 177
18:00now on environment
18:01index
18:01therefore I am
18:02a Dimagi Naksal
18:03because I raise
18:03these points
18:04and I question them.
18:05Now you also see
18:06it is a very
18:07familiar pattern
18:08of the BJP
18:09when you will see
18:09them
18:10when the Prime Minister
18:12travels to Punjab
18:13for example
18:14he will label
18:15the people
18:16their Khalistani
18:16in Kashmir
18:17the people
18:18become Atankwadi
18:18in Kerala
18:19he will call
18:20people Somalian
18:21in Bengal
18:22he will call
18:22them Bangladeshi
18:23so this
18:24we are quite
18:25familiar with
18:26the pattern
18:26of Pradhan Mantriji
18:27and it is time
18:28that he now
18:29answers these
18:31questions
18:31because he is
18:32all that the BJP
18:33has done in the
18:34past 12 years
18:35is done a
18:36khichdi
18:37hodgepodge
18:38media management
18:39optics management
18:40but there is
18:41not a thing
18:42to show on the
18:42ground
18:43not a single
18:44work completed
18:45of all the
18:45promises made
18:46the dollar
18:46is not equal
18:47to one
18:48give me 30 seconds
18:49Charu wants to
18:50quickly respond
18:50to a direct charge
18:51before I bring in
18:52Dr. Vikram Singh
18:53and I will bring you
18:54in also Mohan
18:54go ahead Charu Pragya
18:57you know I find
18:58this really
18:59really insulting
19:00to the lives
19:01we have lost
19:02to Naxalism
19:02in our country
19:03Gaurav
19:04when people
19:05who are intellectual
19:06in their own right
19:07in their own
19:08fields of work
19:09want to call
19:10themselves a Naxal
19:11and they want to
19:12call themselves a Naxal
19:13with pride
19:14I think that is
19:15derogatory to every
19:16single life that has
19:17been lost
19:17between 2004
19:18and 2014
19:19close to 7000 lives
19:21both civilian
19:22and all security
19:22personal have been
19:23lost to the
19:24Naxalbari movement
19:25so today
19:26leaders
19:27who are supposed
19:27to be setting
19:28an example
19:29for the rest
19:29of society
19:30are taking pride
19:31in calling themselves
19:32Naxal
19:33I just don't get it
19:34and if it begins
19:35from somebody
19:36who has been
19:36the home minister
19:37of our country
19:37I think it is
19:38downright sad
19:39and that is the
19:40lowest Indian opposition
19:41could have hit
19:42okay but both
19:43Mohan and
19:44you know Priyanka
19:45have raised the point
19:47that it's not
19:48the intellectual
19:49Naxals
19:50you are talking about
19:51are those who
19:51question your government
19:52on anything
19:53whether it's the
19:54NEET exam leaking
19:56paper leak
19:57or anything to do
19:58with dissent
19:59respond to that
20:01very diric charge
20:02Gauri ji very short
20:03retort
20:03look at what
20:04Charu Pragya did
20:05Charu Pragya very
20:06smartly deleted
20:08the word
20:08Dimagi
20:08and only spoke
20:09about Naxal
20:10just to play
20:12manipulate with the
20:13words because she's
20:13a lawyer
20:14she knows how to
20:15that is how smartly
20:16so we are
20:17yes yes
20:18you repeatedly
20:19said Naxals
20:20Naxals
20:21Naxals
20:21we are very
20:22clearly talking
20:23about Dimagi
20:24Naxals
20:24no allow me
20:25to clarify that
20:26Gaurav
20:27no not at all
20:28not at all
20:28even the
20:29governmentally
20:30he did not
20:30speak what he said
20:31now you have to
20:32kill a lot of
20:33you have to
20:34kill a lot of
20:35Priyanka please
20:36do not put words
20:37in my mouth
20:38Gaurav
20:39allow me 10 seconds
20:39to clarify before
20:40you go to the
20:41congress spokesperson
20:42okay 10 seconds
20:43to clarify before
20:44I bring in Dr.
20:44Vikram Singh
20:44and Mohan
20:47the number of
20:48people who hold
20:49a gun in their
20:50hands and who
20:51shoot is limited
20:52but the ecosystem
20:53which supports
20:54these select
20:55people who hold
20:56the gun in their
20:57hands and shoot
20:58is a lot and
20:59that is the
20:59ecosystem we are
21:00talking about
21:01I did not take
21:01Dimagi out of it
21:02I meant that the
21:04word Naxal itself
21:05whether you add
21:05intellectual before
21:06it you add
21:07Dimagi before it
21:08whether you add
21:09urban before it
21:10the meaning
21:10remains the same
21:11if you think
21:12that in this
21:13country you can
21:14see power
21:15by an armed
21:16revolution
21:16then that is
21:18not what we
21:19are going to
21:19stand for
21:20and that is not
21:21what we are
21:21able to allow
21:22let me bring in Dr.
21:22Vikram Singh
21:22somebody who has
21:23dealt with the
21:24issue on ground
21:25Dr.
21:26Vikram Singh
21:26Mohan give me a
21:27moment
21:28Dr.
21:28Vikram Singh
21:29how real is the
21:30threat of
21:32Dimagi Naxals
21:32as the Prime
21:33Minister puts it
21:34is that a
21:35bogey
21:35just to silence
21:37dissent
21:37and what is
21:39your reading of
21:40intellectual Naxals
21:41I mean do they
21:41actually exist
21:42or is this
21:43you know
21:45a bogey that
21:46the Prime
21:46Minister is
21:47creating or the
21:47government is
21:48creating
21:49good evening
21:50Gaurav ji
21:50and esteemed
21:51co-panelists
21:52I would say
21:53nothing would be
21:53farther from truth
21:54if I have to say
21:55that it is a
21:56fallacy
21:56the fact of the
21:57matter is that
21:58Dimagi Naxals
21:59or urban Naxals
21:59are a cruel
22:01reality unleashing
22:02themselves on the
22:03nation and they
22:05need to be dealt
22:05with a firm hand
22:06I will tell you the
22:07example and I will
22:08go into specifics
22:09not vague
22:10allegations
22:10ask as many
22:11questions as you
22:12want to
22:12but the first
22:13is what do
22:14they provide
22:14they provide
22:15ideological engine
22:17they are the
22:18software to the
22:19hardware that is
22:20the armed Naxals
22:21the Naxals that
22:22are in the
22:23jungles fighting
22:24guerrilla warfare
22:24they also provide
22:26the logistics of
22:27the legal cover
22:28and the recruitment
22:29base also
22:30and whenever there is
22:31a legal requirement
22:32they are the one
22:33who will get you
22:34the topmost lawyers
22:35to defend in the
22:36Supreme Court
22:36also
22:37now the fact of
22:38the matter is
22:39that these are
22:39the people who
22:40are the intellectual
22:41base and also
22:42the software of
22:43the machine that
22:44is of supercomputer
22:46earning almost
22:4725,000 crores
22:48when Naxalism
22:50wanted to speak
22:50Charu Pragya Ji
22:51rightly mentioned
22:52I take you back
22:53to November
22:552013 when
22:56Sushil Kumar
22:57Shindeji was
22:57the home minister
22:59and in the
22:59Supreme Court
23:00the affidavit
23:01was given that
23:01urban Naxalism
23:03is a reality
23:03and a threat
23:05if that be the
23:06case you cannot
23:07I mean wipe
23:07out and then
23:08deny that
23:09urban Naxalism
23:10is something
23:10that is created
23:11by the current
23:12prime minister
23:12the fact of the
23:13matter is
23:13that there is
23:14a think tank
23:15and that think
23:16tank is responsible
23:17for creating
23:18disinformation
23:19misinformation
23:19and fake news
23:20levelling false
23:21allegations
23:22and the recent
23:23I would give you
23:24a specific example
23:25there is a case
23:26where
23:26Sharjit Imam
23:27and Umar Khalid
23:28that they are
23:29being illegally
23:30detained
23:31because of this
23:32dichotomy
23:33in the Supreme Court
23:34judgments
23:34some hundred
23:35people have
23:36signed that
23:36I would strongly
23:37question
23:37I would say
23:38ask yourself
23:39would you say
23:40yes or no
23:40to these questions
23:42Kashmir
23:43go on sir
23:44complete your point
24:15do you say
24:15yes or no
24:15number of questions
24:16that's a very
24:16pertinent question
24:17you asked
24:17let me get
24:18both
24:18Mohan Kumar
24:19Mangalam
24:19and Priyanka
24:20Kakar
24:22on these
24:23specifics
24:24because urban
24:25Naxal
24:26is a statement
24:27that we have
24:27heard
24:28even when
24:29there was
24:29an earlier
24:30government
24:30in power
24:31Mohan
24:32you are well
24:32aware of
24:33that fight
24:33that took
24:33place
24:34or the
24:34argument
24:36between
24:36Peech Dambaram
24:37and Digvijay
24:38Singh
24:38on
24:40the fight
24:41against red
24:42terror
24:42on Dr.
24:43Manmohan
24:43Singh
24:43talking about
24:44red terror
24:44as a threat
24:45on ground
24:45and the
24:47home minister
24:47talking about
24:48the threat
24:48that those
24:49who give
24:49intellectual
24:50cover
24:50to the
24:51mouse
24:52remember
24:52Chintalnaar
24:53forest massacre
24:5475 CRPF
24:56people killed
24:56those who
24:57celebrated
24:58the killing
24:59are they
24:59urban Naxals
25:00or not sir
25:01Gaurav
25:02nobody has
25:02been harder
25:03on Naxalism
25:03than Mr.
25:04Chidambaram
25:04was when he
25:05was home
25:05minister
25:06so we are
25:06not even
25:07going to go
25:07into that
25:08right now
25:08Dr.
25:10Vikram Singh
25:10asked you
25:11a specific
25:11those who
25:12celebrated
25:12that massacre
25:13of CRPF
25:15personnel
25:15are they
25:16urban Naxals
25:16or not
25:17Gaurav
25:18the term
25:19urban Naxal
25:21if used
25:22to describe
25:22someone who
25:24wants a caste
25:25census
25:26immediately stops
25:27referring to
25:28the urban Naxals
25:29that Mr.
25:29Singh is referring
25:30to and I
25:31wanted to ask
25:32Charupragya
25:33one question
25:33you talked
25:34about the ideology
25:35of seizing
25:36power
25:36under the
25:37threat of a
25:38gun
25:38now what
25:39do you
25:39say
25:39what do
25:40you call
25:40those people
25:41who want
25:41to maintain
25:42their hold
25:42over power
25:43by the
25:44lathe of
25:44the police
25:45by the
25:45trigger of
25:46the pellet
25:47gun
25:47or by the
25:48bullets of
25:48the AK-47
25:49against peaceful
25:50protesters
25:51what are they
25:51called
25:52are they
25:52called
25:52dimakhin
25:53darpokes
25:54when they
25:54run away
25:54from taking
25:55accountability
25:55or would
25:56you also
25:57call them
25:57dimakhin
25:58Naxals
25:58if you
25:59will
26:00fair enough
26:00Charupragya
26:01is responding
26:02to that
26:04I have
26:05always
26:05maintained
26:06this
26:06and I'm
26:06going to
26:07repeat it
26:07the protest
26:08which was
26:09supposed to
26:09be for a
26:10just cause
26:11was infiltrated
26:12we had the
26:13police make
26:13statements about
26:14it we saw
26:15proof of that
26:16we saw
26:16videographic
26:17evidence of
26:17that so at
26:18the end of
26:19the day do
26:20you actually
26:20think that
26:21anybody in
26:23this country
26:23should be
26:24allowed to
26:25ride roughshed
26:26over our
26:26police personnel
26:27and might I
26:27remind you
26:28we had an
26:29IEB officer
26:30who was stabbed
26:31to death
26:3228 times
26:33he was
26:33brutally
26:33stabbed
26:34to his
26:34death
26:35in the
26:36midst of
26:36a protest
26:36like this
26:37when the
26:38CAA protest
26:39was going
26:39on
26:40is that
26:40the kind
26:41of protesting
26:41you support
26:42or are you
26:43also a firm
26:44believer that
26:45protesting should
26:45be done in a
26:46lawful peaceful
26:47legal manner
26:48so if you
26:49cannot draw
26:49this distinction
26:50I think that
26:51is the downfall
26:51of the Indian
26:52opposition
26:52and I'm
26:53going to keep
26:53saying this
26:54again and
26:54again
26:54see Gaurav
26:55today the irony
26:56is
26:57let me just
26:59say this
26:59you know
27:00Prime Minister
27:01Manmohan
27:01saying defined
27:02it as India's
27:03biggest internal
27:04security challenge
27:05P. Chidambaram
27:06was fighting
27:06against it
27:07our personal
27:08so much of
27:09our police
27:10personnel had
27:10died for it
27:11and at the
27:12end of the
27:13day if 16
27:14years later
27:15that same
27:16former home
27:16minister uses
27:17the term
27:18Naksal that
27:18loosely I think
27:20it is terrible
27:20and they need
27:21to please
27:22exercise better
27:23caution
27:23Mohan Kumar
27:24wants to
27:25respond to
27:25you but I
27:25think I
27:25have Triyanka
27:26Kakkar's
27:26connection back
27:27I lost that
27:28connection
27:28I want to
27:29bring Triyanka
27:29Kakkar into
27:30this conversation
27:31those who
27:33tried to show
27:34the anti-CAA
27:35rights in the
27:36national capital
27:37as people
27:39coming out on
27:39the streets
27:40peacefully
27:40protesting
27:41against CAA
27:42saying Indian
27:43Muslims will be
27:44denied their
27:45citizenship
27:47okay Triyanka
27:48Kakkar
27:49Charu Pragya
27:50says those
27:50who justified
27:51those rights
27:52including the
27:53killing of the
27:54IB officer
27:55they are the
27:56urban Naksals
27:56the nation
27:57needs to guard
27:58against
28:01so to that
28:02my answer is
28:03Gaurav ji
28:04that she is
28:04already saying
28:05that they have
28:05a specific name
28:06BJP has called
28:08them urban Naksals
28:09BJP is calling
28:10certain people

28:32when I
28:32started talking
28:32so already
28:33BJP
28:34has been
28:35labeled

33:05so
33:06infiltrated
33:07by
33:07I assume
33:08she means
33:08Dimagi
33:09Naxals
33:09as the
33:10Prime
33:10Minister
33:10used that
33:11term
33:11so does
33:12she mean
33:12then that
33:12the Prime
33:13Minister

33:13the
33:14Education
33:14Minister

33:20please don't
33:21confuse
33:22things
33:22I asked
33:23you a
33:23very simple
33:24question
33:24which is
33:25if there
33:26are people
33:26who are
33:26seizing
33:27power
33:27by the
33:28fear of
33:29the gun
33:29we are
33:30talking about
33:30people like
33:31yourselves
33:31who are
33:32actually
33:32trying to
33:33keep
33:33power
33:33under the
33:34threat of
33:34the gun
33:35under the
33:35threat of
33:36violence
33:36against
33:36students
33:37who are
33:37protesting
33:38in a
33:38completely
33:39non-violent
33:39fashion
33:40you know
33:41there's
33:41another
33:41protest
33:42that's
33:42happening
33:42even
33:43as we
33:43speak
33:43in
33:44Jharkhand
33:45and I
33:45will come
33:46to what's
33:46happening
33:46there
33:47because we
33:47want all
33:47sides
33:48of the
33:48story
33:48to come
33:49out
33:49while
33:50everyone
33:50protests
33:51and covers
33:52Delhi
33:52Jantar
33:53Mantar
33:53unfortunately
33:54is a
33:54tyranny
33:55of
33:55distance
33:55that
33:56Jharkhand
33:56they're
33:57still
33:57protesting
33:58and not
33:58much
33:59except
33:59on India
34:00today
34:00and on
34:00India
34:00first
34:01that will
34:01come out
34:02on India
34:02first
34:03I will
34:03get you
34:03yes I
34:04want you
34:04to
34:04quickly
34:04respond
34:04because I
34:05want to
34:05bring in
34:05Dr. Vikram
34:06Singh
34:06because this
34:07is far
34:07more serious
34:08an issue
34:08than just
34:09becoming a
34:10political
34:11intellectual
34:12intellectual
34:12natural
34:13absolutely
34:14Gaurav
34:14and that is
34:15what I was
34:15trying to
34:15come to
34:16see we
34:17set a
34:17very big
34:18target for
34:18ourselves
34:19when we
34:19said that
34:20we are
34:20going to
34:20make
34:20India
34:21Naxal
34:21free
34:21on the
34:2231st
34:23of March
34:232026
34:24this year
34:25India was
34:26declared
34:26Naxal
34:27free by
34:27our
34:27Honorable
34:28Home
34:28Minister
34:28big day
34:29after that
34:30this is the
34:30first
34:31Independence
34:31Day
34:32it was
34:32such a
34:33big
34:33occasion
34:34because
34:34like I
34:34said
34:35their own
34:35leadership
34:36has time
34:36and time
34:36talked
34:37about
34:37how
34:37Naxalism
34:38how
34:38Maoism
34:39was affecting
34:40us
34:40when we
34:41eliminated
34:42that
34:42would we
34:43not talk
34:43about it
34:44on our
34:44own
34:44Independence
34:45day
34:45why is
34:46it that
34:46their politics
34:47is so
34:47small minded
34:48and so
34:48small hearted
34:49that even
34:50a word
34:50like
34:50Naxalism
34:51and
34:51Dimagi
34:52Naxalism
34:52they want
34:53to connect
34:53it to
34:54a protest
34:54and not
34:55withstanding
34:55the fact
34:56that in
34:56Jharkhand
34:56there are
34:57700
34:57FIRs
34:58lodged
34:58in Delhi
34:59they were
34:59screaming
35:00and shouting
35:00what about
35:00taking
35:01those 700
35:01FIRs
35:02back
35:02today
35:03okay
35:03and I
35:04want to
35:04bring
35:04you
35:04in
35:04Dr
35:05Vikram
35:05Singh
35:05and
35:05Mohan
35:06you
35:06must
35:06think
35:06about
35:06that
35:07you
35:08know
35:08since
35:08your
35:08party
35:08is
35:08in
35:09partnership
35:10with
35:10JMM
35:10in that
35:11government
35:11in Jharkhand
35:13and can I
35:14say that
35:14Mr. Gandhi
35:15has written
35:15not only
35:16is our
35:16minister
35:16in that
35:17government
35:17gone and
35:18visited
35:18the
35:18protesters
35:19multiple
35:19times
35:19but Mr. Gandhi
35:20has written
35:21to the
35:21chief
35:21minister
35:21and spoken
35:22to him
35:22about
35:23the need
35:23to engage
35:24with those
35:24protesters
35:24and not
35:25resort to
35:25violence
35:26like
35:26the BJP
35:26government
35:27you know
35:27when news
35:27came in
35:28last
35:28the students
35:29are still
35:29waiting
35:30to meet
35:31the government
35:32there was a
35:33discussion
35:33that they
35:33would be
35:34meeting
35:34the government
35:34and they're
35:35still waiting
35:35to meet
35:36the government
35:36and these
35:37are students
35:37who've been
35:37or protesters
35:38who've been
35:39on a fast
35:40and you know
35:41not eating
35:4224 days
35:42and counting
35:43but I quickly
35:43want to bring
35:44in Dr. Vikram
35:44Singh
35:45sir
35:46while politics
35:47will and
35:48must continue
35:49because we're
35:50a noisy
35:50vibrant
35:51powerful democracy
35:52and very proud
35:52of the fact
35:53that we are
35:53but is this
35:55also in a
35:56way
35:56giving a
35:57shield
35:57to
35:58as far as
35:59the security
36:00forces are
36:00concerned
36:01to the
36:01to the
36:02intellectual
36:02naxals
36:03or the
36:03dimagi
36:04naxals
36:04or if
36:05the government
36:06has evidence
36:07forget labels
36:08opposition
36:09should label
36:10government
36:10has to act
36:11if there is a
36:12dimagi naxal
36:13produce evidence
36:14against him
36:14prosecute him
36:15in courts
36:15of law
36:17excellent
36:17question
36:18Gaurav ji
36:18and I would
36:19say that
36:19yes
36:20it is
36:20roadmap
36:21has been
36:22explained by
36:23the prime
36:23minister
36:23to identify
36:25and then
36:26isolate
36:27these are
36:28the road
36:28maps
36:28and then
36:29the further
36:29action will
36:30follow
36:30thereafter
36:30the prime
36:31minister is
36:32not expected
36:33to be an
36:33encyclopedia
36:34and disclose
36:35the entire
36:36roadmap
36:36on the 15th
36:37of August
36:37from the
36:38Red Fort
36:38the indication
36:39has been
36:39given
36:40and of course
36:40you very
36:41rightly said
36:41I'm proud
36:41to be an
36:42Indian
36:42citizen
36:43and a part
36:43of a
36:43vibrant
36:44democracy
36:45and also
36:46that peaceful
36:46protest is
36:47my legitimate
36:48right
36:48but at the
36:49same time
36:49I salute
36:50the valour
36:50of our
36:51paramilitary
36:52forces
36:52the police
36:53forces
36:53who indeed
36:54eliminated
36:54left wing
36:55extremism
36:55on 31st
36:56of March
36:572026
36:57and yes
36:58let us
36:59not dilute
36:59the issues
37:00by digressing
37:01and using
37:02the word
37:02in a
37:04derisive
37:04manner
37:04in a
37:05light
37:05manner
37:05in a
37:06laughable
37:06manner
37:07and let
37:07us not
37:08have a
37:08jaundiced
37:08eye
37:09to the
37:09supreme
37:09sacrifice
37:10given by
37:10our
37:11armed
37:11forces
37:11and the
37:12paramilitary
37:12forces
37:12but you
37:14know
37:14let there
37:14be hard
37:15action
37:15let there
37:16be hard
37:17action
37:17against
37:17those
37:17who
37:18provide
37:18intellectual
37:19cover
37:20to
37:21you know
37:21those who
37:22want to
37:22seize power
37:23from the
37:23barrel of
37:23the gun
37:24or worse
37:24to that
37:24effect
37:24but amidst
37:25all of
37:25this
37:25stay with
37:26me
37:26there's
37:27one more
37:27controversy
37:27I want
37:28to talk
37:28about
37:29and there's
37:30more information
37:31that's coming
37:31in
37:31so the
37:33BJP is
37:33now targeting
37:34Sonia Gandhi
37:36over
37:36Vande Matram
37:37there's another
37:38controversy
37:39that's hit
37:40the congress
37:40party
37:40at a
37:41congress
37:41party
37:41program
37:41in
37:42Goa
37:43Apparently
37:44only two
37:45stanzas
37:45of Vande
37:46Matram
37:46were sung
37:47and that
37:47too in
37:48the presence
37:48of
37:48congress
37:49president
37:49Malikarjun
37:50Kharge
37:50sources say
37:51this is a
37:52clear indication
37:53of the
37:53line that
37:54the congress
37:54is now
37:55likely to
37:55follow at
37:56future
37:56events of
37:57the party
37:57Only two
37:59stanzas
38:00of Vande
38:00Matram
38:01will be
38:01sung
38:01that's the
38:02information
38:03that is
38:03coming in
38:04but is
38:05this not
38:05then a
38:06violation
38:07of the
38:08law
38:09Mohan
38:10you want
38:10to quickly
38:11comment on
38:11this and
38:12can you
38:12tell us
38:13information is
38:14only two
38:14stanzas of
38:15Vande Matram
38:16was sung
38:16at Goa
38:18congress
38:20I'm sorry
38:21Gaurav I
38:21can't tell you
38:21anything about
38:22this because
38:22this is the
38:22first I've
38:23heard of it
38:24on your
38:24show I
38:25have absolutely
38:25no idea
38:26if it's
38:27you know if
38:28at all this
38:28is true but
38:29all I know
38:30is the
38:30entire the
38:31song in
38:31its entirety
38:31was sung
38:32on Independence
38:33Day at
38:34Congress
38:34Indra Bhavan
38:35so this is
38:36the first
38:36I'm hearing
38:37that two
38:37stanzas
38:37only were
38:38sung in
38:38Goa
38:38I can't
38:39comment on
38:39that without
38:40finding out
38:40more about
38:41it
38:41sure but
38:43is this
38:44then a
38:44violation
38:45of the
38:46new law
38:462026
38:47law and
38:50Charu Pragya
38:50if the
38:51Congress
38:52party says
38:53that Sonia
38:54Gandhi was
38:55only trying
38:55to seek
38:56a chair
38:57for Malikarjun
38:59Kharge
38:59why is the
39:00BJP saying
39:00that she
39:01tried to
39:01stop the
39:02singing of
39:03Vande Matram
39:04Gaurav tell
39:05me something
39:06had we
39:09been singing
39:09our Rashtra
39:10Gaan at
39:11that point
39:11of time
39:12would she
39:13have stopped
39:14in the
39:14middle
39:15looked who
39:15standing to
39:16her left
39:17or her right
39:17and talked
39:19about anything
39:21else
39:21she wouldn't
39:22have she
39:23would have
39:23waited for
39:23that one
39:24one and a
39:24half minute
39:25more for
39:26the Rashtra
39:26Geet to get
39:27over before
39:28she started
39:28talking it's
39:29as simple
39:29as that
39:30if you
39:30respected it
39:31from the
39:31bottom of
39:32your heart
39:32he's been
39:33standing there
39:34you think
39:34Malikarjun
39:35Ji was not
39:36standing there
39:37for a long
39:37time already
39:38would one
39:38more minute
39:39would have
39:39mattered that
39:40much and
39:41would anybody
39:41else dare to
39:42show this
39:43kind of
39:43disrespect
39:44had it been
39:45Jan Ganaman
39:45you wouldn't
39:47you wouldn't
39:47and that is
39:48my limited
39:48point see
39:49this disinterest
39:50and this
39:53disrespect
39:53it is not
39:55new it has
39:56lived for 90
39:56years it continues
39:57to live and
39:58manifest itself
39:59today in
40:00congress offices
40:01across the
40:01country and I
40:02challenge you
40:03had it been
40:04any other
40:04thing you
40:05would have
40:05waited for
40:06that one
40:06minute instead
40:07of looking
40:07left and
40:08right mother
40:08and son are
40:09seen talking
40:09to each other
40:10I mean that's
40:11how disrespectful
40:11you were
40:12how low can you
40:13fall
40:13Mohan you want
40:14to quickly
40:14respond to that
40:15before I bring in
40:15Dr. Vikram Singh
40:16on the legal
40:16position and
40:17Priyanka in case
40:18she wants to
40:18comment on this
40:19but Mohan
40:21I think as far
40:22as the amendment
40:22goes talking
40:24during the
40:25song is not
40:26against the
40:26law it's
40:27actually
40:27interrupting the
40:28song trying to
40:29disparage the
40:30song in any
40:30which way as
40:31far as I read
40:31the legal
40:32amendment that
40:33was passed in
40:33parliament
40:34recently
40:34the BJP claims
40:35the BJP claims
40:37Sonia Gandhi
40:38apparently said
40:39words to the
40:39effect stop
40:40stop or
40:42certain hand
40:43gestures
40:43Gaurav let me
40:44just say one
40:45thing the
40:46congress has
40:46made a
40:47clarification the
40:48entire song was
40:48sung this was in
40:50the congress
40:50headquarters if the
40:51congress wanted
40:52to stop short of
40:53the entire song
40:54being sung it
40:55could have it
40:56didn't it
40:56immediately offered
40:57a clarification
40:58when this
40:58controversy was
40:59raised saying
41:00what Mrs. Gandhi
41:01was saying and
41:02Mrs. Gandhi asked
41:03for a chair for
41:04an 85 year old
41:06man who had
41:06been standing
41:07in the middle
41:08and I find it
41:09so so insensitive
41:11so insensitive
41:14that Charu Pragya
41:15do not interrupt
41:15me I will
41:16interrupt you
41:16when you talk
41:17if you interrupt
41:18me I will
41:19talk over you
41:19non-stop I guarantee
41:20Charu Pragya can I
41:23request you to
41:23wait till Mr.
41:24Kumar Mangalam
41:25completes his
41:25point go on
41:26sir let me finish
41:27my point I am
41:28saying it with
41:29all humility that
41:30there is nothing
41:31more Indian than
41:32helping an elderly
41:34person even when
41:35they are denying
41:36that help knowing
41:37that they are in
41:38pain having stood
41:38for so long to
41:40take that and let
41:41me also just say
41:42that the BJP for
41:43the last multiple
41:44decades has been
41:45doing their best to
41:46target Mrs. Gandhi
41:47and accuse her of
41:48being unpatriotic
41:49referring to her
41:51origins etc and
41:52every single time
41:53the people have
41:54shown them the
41:54door so it is at
41:56their own peril that
41:57they try and
41:58manufacture a
41:58controversy around
41:59so you are
41:59saying she did
42:00not say stop
42:01stop to the
42:02singing of
42:02Andai Mataram
42:03and you will
42:04get more
42:04information on
42:05Goa but Dr.
42:07Vikram Singh if
42:07only two stanzas
42:08have been sung as
42:09reports seem to
42:10indicate would that
42:11be a violation of
42:12the law
42:15avoiding by the
42:15rule of law
42:16Gaurav ji is not
42:17a matter of choice
42:18it's a compulsion
42:19and obligatory on
42:20all of us and
42:21in these matters
42:22you please understand
42:22that this is akin
42:24to a parade a
42:24very solemn
42:25national event it
42:26should be duly
42:27rehearsed like
42:28every parade is
42:29and cater to
42:30every contingency
42:31and emergency
42:32where you
42:32I mean sleepwalking
42:33or something
42:34that they did
42:34not cater for
42:35the chair
42:36for Mr. Khadge
42:37who is 85
42:37years old
42:38you should have
42:38done that
42:38and during
42:40every parade
42:40there is a
42:41party known as
42:41stretcher parade
42:42that if somebody
42:43falls down
42:43trains he is
42:44picked up by
42:45the stretcher parade
42:45and moved for
42:46first aid given
42:47them
42:47Sir give me a
42:49moment I have
42:49breaking news
42:49that's coming in
42:50from Jharkhand
42:51and I want to
42:52quickly cut across
42:53to this
42:54pressure is
42:54mounting on
42:56Chief Minister
42:57Hemant Sorain
42:57and on his
42:58government
42:58students intensify
43:01their agitation
43:01over their
43:03unfulfilled demands
43:04the protesters
43:05have announced
43:05a plan to
43:06gharaw the
43:07Chief Minister's
43:08residence on
43:09the 20th of
43:10August if the
43:10demands are not
43:12met
43:12information that's
43:13coming in
43:13students have
43:14stepped up their
43:15campaign
43:16on Sunday they
43:17burnt effigies
43:18of the Chief
43:18Minister
43:19leader of
43:20opposition in
43:20Lok Sabha
43:21Rahul Gandhi
43:21and RJD
43:22leader Tejas
43:23Svi Yadav
43:24this was on
43:25Sunday saying
43:26that the Grand
43:26Alliance had
43:27actually failed to
43:29take concrete
43:29action today the
43:31government invited a
43:32delegation of
43:33students for talks
43:34information that's
43:36coming in the
43:37delegation has been
43:39kept waiting and
43:41they haven't been
43:42able to meet the
43:43Chief Minister or
43:44ministers in the
43:46government the
43:47Chief Minister we
43:48are told is holding a
43:49meeting with his
43:49cabinet colleagues
43:50inside Project
43:51Bhawan his
43:52security has
43:54significantly been
43:55stepped up outside
43:56Mantralai and this
43:57security as the
44:00cabinet meeting
44:00continues now that's
44:02fueled speculation
44:02that the government
44:03could be preparing a
44:05major decision on
44:06this subject is
44:08Jharkhand heading for
44:10a solution or will
44:12the crisis continue
44:13we'll track that
44:14story it's a big
44:15crackdown on
44:16Pakistan's notorious
44:17counterintelligence
44:18agency ISI's
44:19sleeper cells in
44:21India nationwide
44:22raids arrests
44:23across 14 states
44:25200 people have
44:26already been taken
44:27into custody the
44:28searches and raids
44:29continue 500 plus
44:31mobile phones and
44:32devices under the
44:34scanner even as we
44:35speak Union Home
44:36Minister Amit Shah
44:37he's announced India
44:39has dismantled the
44:40Park ISI backed
44:42Shahzad Bhatti
44:43terror network ahead
44:45of Independence Day
44:46and foiled
44:47plans to carry out
44:49terror strikes in
44:50India the Home
44:51Minister said more
44:52than 200 suspected
44:53operators of the
44:54Shahzad Bhatti network
44:56have been taken into
44:57custody these were
44:58coordinated operations
44:59and multi-state
45:00coordinated operations
45:01coordinated by the
45:02Ministry of Home
45:03Affairs these were
45:04conducted across 14
45:05states the arrest the
45:07crackdown was launched
45:08on the 12th of August
45:09agencies made major
45:12recoveries so can you
45:13imagine the Home
45:14Ministry coordinating
45:15multiple state police
45:16forces central armed
45:17police forces backing
45:18them they carried out
45:19top secret searches and
45:22raids in various parts
45:23of the country they've
45:24recovered improvised
45:25explosive devices they've
45:26recovered grenades and
45:28these grenades have
45:28markings of POF or
45:30Pakistan Ordnance
45:31Factory pistols live
45:33ammunition and equipment
45:35apparently used for
45:37espionage including CCTV
45:38cameras with mobile phone
45:40chips now these CCTV
45:42cameras were installed
45:43near certain VA and
45:45VPs vital assets and

46:04India today has learned
46:06that the pro agencies have
46:07now identified more than
46:08500 suspicious mobile
46:10numbers and data cards
46:11linked to this
46:12investigation more than
46:14200 suspects have been
46:15taken into custody they've
46:16been questioned across
46:17states the investigation
46:18seems to indicate a
46:20social media based
46:22recruitment pipeline Indian
46:25youth were targeted then
46:27radicalized and brought
46:28directly in contact with
46:30handlers in Pakistan sources
46:33say a certain Abid Jutt and
46:36Ajmal Gujar were ISI linked
46:39handlers who recruited
46:40youngsters online and then
46:42put them in touch with
46:44Shahzad Bhatti after
46:46initially radicalizing them
46:47Shahzad Bhatti apparently
46:49did the rest the recruits
46:51were then offered money for
46:53terror related tasks when
46:55they once they carried out
46:56the task they were then in
46:58the clutches of these ISI
47:00handlers because they said
47:02if you don't continue to
47:03help us we will give your
47:04information to the police
47:05and you and your families
47:07would be sorted out so they
47:08carried out reconnaissance
47:10they carried out weapons
47:11smuggling and they were
47:13being prepared to carry out a
47:14series of joint coordinated

49:01It could be assault rifles being used against civilians or VAVPs tomorrow.
49:07Good evening, once again, Gaurav Ji.
49:09This is a shift in policy and strategy of the ISI.
49:13They have used a social media influencer, that is Shahzad Bhatti.
49:17And you would see, apart from Molotov cocktails,
49:20they also have sophisticated weapons like pistols, IEDs,
49:24having Pakistan or those factory markings, large number of cartridges,
49:27as also the large, they have been successful in creating at least 200 recruits using 500 SIM cards.
49:35That is a cause of concern.
49:36And the change in technology is standalone use of CCTVs on sensitive railway stations,
49:41starting from Ambala right up to New Delhi and other places going up to Kashmir.
49:46And the amount of investment is minimal, 2,000 rupees to 8,000 rupees, not even 10,000 rupees.
49:52So the large database, large people were first radicalized, then subjected to blackmail,
49:57and they become an active participant and willing accessories to the designs of the ISI
50:02through a social media handler.
50:04Social media influencer is for the first time that has been used by the ISI.
50:10Sir, stay with me.
50:11Arvind, these 200 people who have taken care of,
50:14are there any knowledge that has left now?
50:17Are there any knowledge that has been passed in law?
50:19Who are these people who can be radicalized so easily?
50:24Look, this is a young, youngster who are active in social media and mostly gangsters are inspired by them.
50:33And the people who are, are there any knowledge that has gone through any of the issues based on the
50:42issue of the ISI.
50:44foreign
50:44the handler is the social media and when a girl comes to contact her, then the brainwashed
50:50her, and after that, she contacted her with her. She was able to work on task basing.
50:57If she was talking about the RSS office, then the two girls were buried.
51:03After that, she contacted her with her, gave her some money, and after that, she went
51:10has no blasted as well in Punjab.
51:14The other part of the BSF office had also been recruited in the social media.
51:21They mostly do not work.
51:24They are active in social media.
51:25They are targeted on the issue of guns.
51:31The whole ISI is the whole module, the call centre,
51:36he recruits such as people in social media,
51:40and then the task can be done.
51:41ISI's own call centre.
51:44Lashkar Hetaiva, Jaishem Mohamad, Hizmul Mujahideen,
51:47as well as Atenki Sangatran, ISI's own call centre.
51:51But I want to bring in Dr. Vikram Singh once again.
51:55Dr. Singh, how difficult is it, one, to identify such a call centre,
52:01two, the people they are in touch with,
52:02and three, these youngsters who are, you know, so frequently on social media,
52:09data is cheap, but then it's also being used to recruit sleeper cells, modules,
52:15God forbid future terrorists, how easy is it to radicalise them?
52:19Gaurav ji, you have put a very right question,
52:22that it is extremely, extremely difficult to get hold of them,
52:25but not insurmountable.
52:27Our technology and technical prowess is such that it is easy to identify,
52:31not easy, I would say, you have to work overtime,
52:35beyond office hours and 24 by 7, to get hold of the links and the keywords,
52:40as also, I would not disclose everything in the arsenal,
52:44but yes, you have to work, I mean, use the technology like machine learning,
52:48AI and other tools that you have, and go also to have your social media patrolling.
52:53Multiple tools, multiple directions, multiple agencies,
52:56and what you have is a result, something as spectacular as this.
52:59But yes, it is very difficult, but not insurmountable.
53:03And look at the arrests that are taking place, it's also almost pan India,
53:0744 detained in Punjab, 15 in Rajasthan, in Telangana, in Karnataka, in Maharashtra,
53:138 detained in Delhi, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar,
53:173 in Karnataka, Gujarat, Telangana, Himachal, JNK in Kerala,
53:22two each,
53:23one,
53:25one,
53:28two,
53:29one,
53:30one,
53:30three,
53:33two,
53:35three,
54:04Thank you very much.
54:07Keep tracking that story, Arvind.
54:08I will come back to you four more.
54:10These operations continue.
54:11200 have been arrested.
54:13250 have been detained for questioning.
54:1650 others have been picked up for questioning, not arrested yet.
54:20And there are 500 data cards and mobile numbers that are under the scanner.
54:24We'll be tracking the story very closely.
54:26Dr. Vikram Singh and Arvind, many thanks for joining me.
54:28That is all I have for you on this special edition of India.
