00:01President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. names retired General Eduardo Oban Jr. the new National Security Advisor, replacing Eduardo Año.
00:09Oban is a former Armed Forces Chief of Staff who rooted for Lenny Robredo in the 2022 presidential elections.
00:15Año says his permanent retirement was because of, quote, health reasons that require my full attention and care.
00:21He officially steps down on April 16.
00:23Año had offered to resign more than once, sources close to him told Rappler.
00:27Last year, when Marcos asked for the courtesy resignations of all his cabinet secretaries, Año found an irrevocable one.
00:34But he was prevailed upon by the president to stay a little bit longer, the same sources added.
00:39Marcos appointed the former military chief as his NSA in January 2023, and Año later played a key role in
