00:27um and with pitchers you know era whatever it may be but i wanted to contextualize the buyer sell
00:33right because when we get to jordan walker we just talked about in the weekend roundup you know like
00:38but like obviously everybody's going to buy that this guy is better this year even if he falls off
00:43a cliff he's better this version of jordan walker is better than the 600 career ops i think it was
00:49below 600 career ops we've seen the last two years and the guy that was up and down from triple
00:54a and
00:54even looking uncomfortable triple a at times clearly already better but when we say buy or
00:58sell what are you buying and we're going to try to define a little bit more what what you are

01:04exactly we might as well start with jordan walker so here's what i'm buying i'm buying this is a
01:08better power season than what he did in 2025 in 111 games in 2025 he hit six homers in 16
01:17games so far
01:18this year walker his hit eight homers so he's already beyond what he did from a homer output
01:25perspective last year and he played a hundred more games a year ago that he has so far this year
01:30the
01:30slash through 16 games he's 20 for 60 that's a 333 batting average with a 394 on base he's slugging
01:37767 that's the best in baseball again two doubles eight homers in 15 driven in it's an 1161
01:44ops so i'm buying that he's better i guess recalibrate me so a couple things are we going
01:52to take over or under 35 homers he's eight through 16 games now i want people to realize
01:59i think yeah jordan walker's better this is a this is a piece now for for the cardinals
02:04teams had a pretty easy game plan against jordan walker in the last few years now they're going to have
02:09to recalibrate themselves and they're going to find a deficiency there because he does whiff
02:14they're going to find a weakness here and they're going to try to exploit it now does that mean he's
02:18going to come all the way back to where he was before no this is a better player but how
02:22much can
02:22he offset that is the big question once teams start to adjust to him and try to pitch to different
02:28weaknesses here are you buying that he's going to hit north of 35 home runs given that he already has
02:34eight in 16 games i'm selling that this is a game of adjustments and making adjustments to the
02:40adjustment um and i just feel like we are maybe a week or two away from an adjustment to jordan

02:47i don't know if we have the sample that's clear enough to say this is his new blue zone but
02:53clearly
02:53the blue zone has changed and the plan of attack has changed the question is when does the dip happen
02:58and how long does the dip last it happens to a lot of really good players when they burst onto

03:04for the very first time there is a change in approach of how to attack that hitter and then
03:10they go cold for a month how quickly can you get out of that cold spell we just haven't seen
