00:01A man has been jailed for causing the death of a passenger in his vehicle in a collision
00:06in Leeds. 27-year-old Nikolai Subtyrol of Edgeware View previously pleaded guilty to
00:12causing the death of Petru Serban by dangerous driving and another count of causing serious
00:18injury by dangerous driving. He was sentenced to six years and nine months imprisonment
00:23and disqualified from driving for nine and a half years. The collision happened on the
00:28A58 Weatherby Road in Scarcroft on the 17th of October 2022. The major collision inquiry
00:36team estimated that Subtyrol's vehicle was being driven at approximately 70 miles per
00:41hour in a 30 mile per hour zone.
