00:00I don't think directing Iris would go as well as directing my mom.
00:03I feel like she wouldn't appreciate me bossing her around.
00:05She's had enough of that in her life.
00:12Right now, I'm getting ready to release my directorial debut poetic license.
00:19I love directing so much.
00:21I've always wanted to do that my whole life.
00:23As a first-time director, I've directed, like, shorts.
00:26But being an actor and being on so many sets,
00:30I've always tried to, like, pay attention to the way that things work and are run.
00:33And that was very helpful.
00:36I was trying to create a set that felt, like, super comfortable and relaxed and good vibes
00:42so people felt comfortable trying things and improv-ing and fucking up.
00:46And it didn't matter just because there's no pressure on anything.
00:50Even though I knew maybe we were running out of time,
00:53I don't want anyone else to know, or any of the actors at least.
00:55So just trying to keep calm and positive.
01:02Someone who's inspiring me right now, I just got back from Sundance,
01:05and I saw The Invite, Olivia Wilde's new movie that she directed.
01:10I thought it was so great and funny and weird.
01:14And it all takes place in one apartment, and it's only four actors.
01:19And it was almost like a play on screen.
01:21I admire her a lot, and I think it's really cool what she's doing.
01:25You also directed your mom in your upcoming feature.
01:28What did you learn about directing her on set?
01:31Directing my mom, like, we kind of went into it.
01:35Like, I hope this goes okay.
01:37Like, we get along very well.
01:39But, yeah, it is a different dynamic.
01:41But it went so well.
01:43Like, we were so on the same page the entire time.
01:46And she loved it because she's like,
01:48what an amazing excuse to spend every second of the day with you, Maude.
01:52I was like, same, honestly.
01:55So, yeah, it went really well.
01:56I don't think directing Iris would go as well as directing my mom.
02:00I'd love to do it, but we'd have to work on that.
02:04We get along well.
02:05Like, Iris is my best friend.
02:06But I feel like she wouldn't appreciate me bossing her around.
02:09She's had enough of that in her life.
02:11So, we'll see.
02:13We'll see.
02:15What are you watching now?
02:17I've been watching a lot of reality TV.
02:20Catfish is my favorite show ever.
02:21I watched that on repeat.
02:24I just watched Pluribus.
02:25I thought Pluribus was amazing.
02:27I have this shameful last couple TV shows that I've watched that, like,
02:30I don't know if I feel even comfortable sharing because you think less of me.
02:34I just watched this reality show on Netflix called Badly in Love,
02:38which is a Japanese dating show.
02:40Members only, Palm Beach, which is a lot.
02:44I just watched My Korean Boyfriend on Netflix.
02:47Like, that's the kind of stuff that I'm talking about.
02:50What am I reading right now?
02:52Finding My Way, Malala's new book.
02:55I listened to the entire thing in one day.
02:57So, it was like she was just in my ear and my best friend.
03:00But I think she's brilliant.
03:02What are you listening to now?
03:03I love Ray.
03:05I saw Ray at Glastonbury over the summer.
03:07It was, like, dead silent.
03:09Like, she commanded the space in a way that I have never seen anyone do.
03:13She was incredible.
03:14So, I'm a big fan of hers.
03:16And I'm listening to her right now.
03:18She's really inspiring.
03:19What are you wearing now?
03:21Chanel, but this isn't mine.
03:23You know what?
03:24Honestly, I love a trench coat.
03:26I know LA, like, isn't the best place to have it.
03:29But I love, like, a light trench coat in LA, LA winter.
03:33Just jeans and a nice shirt, cute sneakers.
03:36That's kind of my everyday look.
03:39This isn't, but this is gorgeous in Chanel.
03:42And I feel lucky to wear it.
03:47I'm very excited for everyone to see Euphoria Season 3.
03:51It's a lot darker.
03:52How can it get darker?
03:53It can.
03:54It was nice to come back together and spend time together.
03:58Because we've been shooting the show for eight years.
04:00On and off, obviously.
04:01But we've all known each other for so long.
04:04And have done so much since we first started.
04:07Everyone's always so busy.
04:09And so, being forced to be in the same place for a couple weeks or months was really nice.
04:14Hopefully, I'm entering, like, a new era.
04:17I've always been, like, very shy and nervous.
04:20And I finally feel more sure of myself.
04:25I spent, like, ages 20 through 28 shooting Euphoria.
04:30And now that that chapter is done, it feels like I'm entering, like, a new phase of my life.
04:36I really love directing.
04:38And I really love producing and writing.
04:40And so, I definitely want to do more of that in this new era.
04:44And so, I'll see you next time.
