00:00Four couples are partying together.
00:02Next morning, Alice is making breakfast.
00:05Suddenly as she and her husband, Jack are talking there is a small earthquake.
00:11Alice asks Jack if it was an explosion or what was it.
00:15He does not answer.
00:16She says she can keep a secret.
00:18But he leaves for work in his car like the other men.
00:22The men go to work at the Victory Project.
00:25As the ladies do the home chores,
00:27Alice gets on the bus and goes for her ballet class.
00:31At the ballet class their teacher Shelly arrives
00:33and informs them that the Victory Project has employed a new employee named Bill Johnson
00:39and she has invited his wife, Violet, to join them.
00:43The ladies welcome Violet.
00:44The class begins.
00:46After class Bunny tells Alice that she knew Margaret wasn't in class
00:50because she seen Dr. Collins in her house again.
00:53Bunny says she surprised Ted still has a job.
00:56As they are gossiping,
00:58men in red jumpsuits from the Victory Project are moving stuff into Violet's new house.
01:03As Alice is drying the clothes,
01:06she sees Margaret holding a plane and dreaming closing her eyes.
01:10Alice is surprised when she finds most of the eggs empty when she's cooking, like a glitch.
01:16As Jack returns home from work,
01:19Alice greets him with a kiss and hands him a drink.
01:23Asks him about his day.
01:24And they have sex.
01:26As Alice is relaxing with Bunny and Violet,
01:29she complains about a certain tune being stuck in her head.
01:32And suddenly, she hears a man humming it in her head.
01:35When she tells the ladies about it,
01:38Violet says it was probably a tune she got from her children.
01:41But Alice says she doesn't have children.
01:43As the ladies are talking about children,
01:47Alice hears the hum again.
01:49All the employees and their families party at Frank's place.
01:52As Shelley is welcoming them,
01:55Margaret asks everyone why they're there.
01:57Ted, her husband,
01:58pulls her back and tells her they need to leave.
02:01Frank steps in and says that the couple's having a tough time.
02:05But she asked a good question.
02:06He says they are there to mine the gem of limitless value.
02:10They're there to change the world.
02:12He thanks the wives,
02:14saying the men ask for many things,
02:16along with discretion about their work.
02:18But the wives also play an important role.
02:21After Frank's speech,
02:23Alice notices that Jack is not around and goes looking for him.
02:26Then she stumbles upon Margaret and Ted.
02:29Margaret tells her that they are hiding her in there.
02:32Ted asks Alice to give them a minute.
02:34And she'll be fine.
02:36Margaret says she is not fine.
02:38And she doesn't sleep since she has bad dreams.
02:41Ted pulls the curtains to cut their conversation.
02:44Alice finds Jack in a room.
02:46And they begin to get cozy.
02:49Frank enters the room and sees what they're doing.
02:52Alice sees him.
02:53And is surprised.
02:54But he leaves.
02:55As Alice is chilling with Bunny.
02:58They talk about how Margaret lost it at the party.
03:01Alice says that she's going through something.
03:03Bunny says she's bringing it on to herself because she had taken her son into the desert.
03:08Which is prohibited to enter as it's dangerous.
03:11Bunny says she shouldn't have gone there and her son didn't come back.
03:15And she says they took her son to punish her.
03:18Peg asks the ladies what do they feel the men are working out there.
03:21She says she knows that they are working on development of progressive materials.
03:26But her husband says that they are making weapons underground.
03:29But Bunny stops her saying that they should support their husbands who save the world.
03:34Alice gets nightmares.
03:36Jack goes to office.
03:38And she gets back to her routine.
03:40She takes the bus.
03:42She sees a plane that crashes into the mountains.
03:45She asks the driver to turn towards the crash so that they can check for survivors.
03:50But the driver outright refuses saying that's not his route.
03:53And they should stay where it is safe and not go into the desert which is dangerous and restricted.
03:59She tells him to stop and she walks towards the crash site.
04:03Ignoring the warning signs in the desert.
04:06She climbs a mountain.
04:07Gets to a dome which is the Victory Project headquarters and cries for help.
04:12She touches the glass on the dome and she faints.
04:16Alice wakes up at home to Jack making dinner.
04:19She asks him how did she get there.
04:21He says she was asleep when he got home.
04:24She is all confused.
04:26He cheers her up and gets back to cooking.
04:29The next day, Jack leaves for work.
04:32And she gets to her chores.
04:33As she's cleaning the glass, the wall suddenly closes in on her and squashes her.
04:39But suddenly, in a blink of an eye, it all goes away and she's fine.
04:44She's scared and confused about what's happening.
04:46The phone rings.
04:48She answers it.
04:49It's Margaret.
04:50Margaret asks her if she went out there and if she's seen it.
04:54Margaret tells her that they are lying to them.
04:56And no one asks any questions.
04:59And that they can't stay there anymore.
05:01And that she's not crazy.
05:03But Alice tells her to stop being ridiculous.
05:05And hangs up the phone.
05:07At ballet class, as all the ladies are dancing,
05:11Alice suddenly stops dancing and glares at the mirror.
05:14As she goes closer, she sees Margaret's reflection in the mirror.
05:18Margaret begins banging her head on the mirror.
05:21The mirror cracks and Alice screams.
05:23She realizes that it was a vision as Margaret disappears.
05:27Everyone in class is stunned and stares at her.
05:30She panics and leaves the class in a jiffy.
05:33Alice rushes to Margaret's house and sees her standing on the roof.
05:37Margaret slits her throat and falls from the roof.
05:40Dumbstruck Alice tries to rush towards her.
05:43But men wearing red jumpsuits catch her.
05:46And pull her away as she struggles trying to help Margaret.
05:49Later, she tells Jack all about what happened.
05:52Jack gaslights her saying,
05:54Margaret just fell from the roof when she was cleaning the windows
05:58and Ted is with her at the hospital now.
06:00Alice tells him that she feels guilty because Margaret asked her for help before taking this step.
06:05Saying that she knew something that they didn't want her to know and they're coming after her.
06:11Alice says she feels guilty because she couldn't save her friend.
06:14And she asks Jack,
06:16Why are they lying about what happened and what are they hiding?
06:19Jack doesn't answer her.
06:21She asks him what does he do at the Victory Project.
06:25He says she knows that he is a technical engineer.
06:28Alice says she knows.
06:30But she asks him what the Victory Project is about.
06:33And what do they mean when they say progressive material?
06:36Jack tells her that they are not allowed to discuss their jobs to others.
06:40She tells him Margaret could be right.
06:42But Jack has an outburst and tells Alice to shut up.
06:46Jack tells her that they could lose this perfect life if she doesn't get a hold of herself.
06:51As Alice is watching TV, she feels like she is drowning.
06:55But she wakes up and realizes she is near the glass window.
07:00As Alice is wrapping some food, she suddenly wraps the cling wrap around her face.
07:05Almost choking herself.
07:07But she gets back to her senses and tears it off.
07:10Dr. Collins comes to have a look at Alice.
07:13He says she has exhaustion and asks her if she is stressed.
07:17Jack says she witnessed Margaret's fall.
07:20Alice says that she just didn't fall.
07:22But she slit her throat and jumped.
07:24Dr. Collins tells her that witnessing a traumatic event can lead to distorted memories and nightmares.
07:31Dr. Collins says he can prescribe some medication.
07:34But she says she doesn't need it.
07:36Then she sees Margaret's file in his suitcase termed as security risk.
07:40Jack tells Dr. Collins that she does not need medication.
07:44Alice asks the doctor what he did to Margaret.
07:47And how did she recover?
07:48He says she needed psychological and physical help.
07:51And because of her Ted lost his job.
07:54And he was removed from the victory project.
07:57Doctor tells Jack to walk him out.
07:59And he forgets his suitcase there.
08:01Alice takes his suitcase and steals Margaret's file.
08:05And returns the suitcase back to him.
08:07She reads Margaret's file.
08:09And then burns it.
08:10She gets a bad vision as she's in the bathtub.
08:13And wakes up with a jolt.
08:14Jack comes in and shows her a dress he got her for the party.
08:18Out of the blue, he asks her if she wants to have a baby.
08:21She is stunned and doesn't answer.
08:23But he tells her to think about it.
08:26At the party, they meet the other couples who welcome them.
08:30Shelly comes to check up on Alice.
08:32And Alice thanks her for the invite.
08:34A woman performs at the party who reminds Alice of the nightmares she has.
08:38She asks Jack if they can leave.
08:41But he tells her to wait and have another drink.
08:44Frank invites Jack on stage and promotes him to the senior advisory board.
08:48And he makes Jack dance.
08:50Alice rushes to the washroom where she has a panic attack.
08:53Bunny goes to check up on her.
08:55And she tells Bunny they need to get out of there and Margaret was telling the truth.
09:00Alice tells her how Margaret died and says they're lying about everything.
09:04She tells her about what she witnessed at the dome.
09:07Bunny is shocked and tells Alice that she needs to get a grip of herself.
09:11As her husband is out there having the best day of his life.
09:15And she is here, ruining it.
09:17Bunny says that she's acting exactly like Margaret and leaves.
09:21Jack tells Alice that he will be heading the extract operation,
09:26which is the high security clearance.
09:28Jack and Alice host a party at home.
09:31The other couples ask if Frank is coming.
09:33Frank walks in with Shelly.
09:35They ask Jack how did he get Frank to come to the party.
09:39He says Alice did it.
09:41As Alice is in the kitchen preparing food,
09:44Frank goes to her and says he is sorry that Bunny did not believe her
09:48and reminds her that she didn't believe Margaret.
09:51So, why should anyone believe her?
09:53He says he was waiting for someone to challenge him like how she did
09:57and hopes she keeps going.
09:59On the table, Alice keeps asking everyone questions about where they are from,
10:04how they met their partner, and where they went for their honeymoon.
10:08Most of the time couples had similar repetitive answers,
10:11which was very surprising because there can't be so many coincidences.
10:15Alice accuses Frank of controlling them and keeping them trapped there.
10:20Frank retaliates saying that Alice put their lives in danger
10:23by going to the prohibited headquarters in the desert.
10:26She continues to accuse Frank of using them,
10:29and Shelly loses it and tells Alice that she is behaving like a spoiled brat
10:34and ruining what they are trying to build.
10:37She leaves and everyone follows her out.
10:39Frank tells her that he expected more from her and wishes her luck,
10:43and calls Jack to talk to him as he walks out the door.
10:47Jack returns and asks her,
10:49Why was she trying to sabotage him?
10:51She says she wasn't doing that, and she loves him.
10:55She begs for his understanding.
10:57She tells him that she loves him more than the Victory Project,
11:00and she trusts him.
11:02But she doesn't trust Frank.
11:04She wants to leave this place.
11:06She tells him that any place would be better as long as to err together.
11:10He says okay, and she says they need to leave tonight.
11:13She packs everything, gets in the car, and tells him to drive.
11:17But he apologizes saying he loves her,
11:19and that he tried so many ways to stop this from happening.
11:23But suddenly the men in the red jumpsuit get there,
11:26and Alice tells him to drive.
11:28But he doesn't, and he just keeps on saying sorry.
11:31They grab Alice.
11:32She says that she is better.
11:34But they don't stop pulling her and take her away.
11:37She screams that they are hurting her.
11:39But Jack feels helpless and starts crying.
11:42They take Alice tie her up, and give her electroshock treatment.
11:46And she goes back to memories of her and Jack together in the real world,
11:50where Alice was a doctor, who was returning late from her surgery.
11:54Jobless Jack tries to get close to her.
11:57But she stops him saying that she just completed a 30-hour shift,
12:01and has to be back in 6 hours.
12:03And she's extremely tired and needs sleep.
12:06Jack brings Alice back home, and Bunny welcomes her with open arms.
12:11Alice gets on with her routine.
12:13Jack returns from work, and she notices that the song he is humming
12:17is the same song that's stuck in her head.
12:20That's when the realization hits that her visions are all memories.
12:24The Victory Project is keeping Alice in an unreal matrix,
12:28as Jack just gets to spend a few hours in the project.
12:31But he has to take care of his unconscious wife,
12:34who is connected to the program throughout.
12:37Back in the project, Alice falls and screams in the kitchen.
12:40Jack gets there, and she asks him what did he do.
12:43And he says he can explain.
12:45She tells him that he stole her life.
12:48He says that she worked too much.
12:50She says that she loved to work.
12:52And he has no right to take her life away from her.
12:55He tells her that he gave her this life.
12:58And they are lucky to be there.
13:00So that they can live the life that they deserve.
13:02He says he has to leave every day to make enough money to keep them there.
13:06He says they're perfect in there.
13:08She reminds him about how when she went explaining to him.
13:11He made her feel like she's crazy.
13:14She asked him about the other people.
13:16And he tells her that all the men are responsible for their wives.
13:20Jack tries to choke her.
13:22But she slams a glass into his neck and Bunny gets there.
13:26Frank is informed that Jack is dead.
13:29Bunny tells her that she needs to leave.
13:31And they are going to kill her in the real world.
13:34Because if a man dies here, he dies in reality.
13:38Bunny tells her to drive away and go to the headquarters.
13:41Alice asks Bunny how does she know all this.
13:44Bunny says she chose this as here her kids are alive.
13:47As Alice gets out of the house.
13:49The people ask her about the blood on her dress.
13:52And where Jack is.
13:53But she keeps walking.
13:55The street lights suddenly start shattering.
13:58Bunny screams at Alice telling her to run.
14:01She takes Jack's car.
14:02But there's some resistance from the men.
14:05She tries to drive away.
14:07But the men in the red jumpsuits get into cars and chase her.
14:10They dash into her car and try to grab her.
14:13Dr. Collins tries to drive straight into her from ahead.
14:16With the other cars pushing her on either side.
14:19But she brakes at the right time and Collins and two other cars crash into each other.
14:24Frank is updated that Collins is dead.
14:27And they ask him what should they do if she gets out.
14:30But he hangs up.
14:31Then Shelly stabs him with a knife.
14:33Saying it's her turn now.
14:35Alice gets to the mountain.
14:37But her car gets stuck.
14:38So she abandons it and starts running.
14:41The men get to her abandoned car.
14:43And start climbing the mountain on foot.
14:45As her car blocks the road.
14:47She runs towards the headquarters.
14:50She gets a vision of Jack that distracts her.
14:52But when it's gone.
14:54She sees the men running towards her.
14:56And she goes towards the glass.
14:58And she gasps for air in the real world.
