01:14Yay. Hello and welcome back to Healthy Wealthy and Wise. This is the show where we find the smart fun and practical ways just to live better, feel brighter and have more time for
01:29super important stuff like ignoring emails.
01:34That is the current situation for me.
01:39So the panic is real.
01:40And here, keeping me updated on all the super pertinent facts.
01:46How's it going, beautiful Ash Wicks?
01:47Hey!
01:49And joining us in the studio is our DIY dynamo plumber,
01:54tiny house builder, baby grower and Swiss army knife
01:57brought to life the inimitable Amy Stanton.
02:02Hello, gorgeous.
02:02Hello.
02:05Please.
02:06Oh, look.
02:09Tails.
02:09Oh, thank you.
02:10I've had two kids, so I know what I'm doing.
02:12If you finish that, I'll bring you a sweet treat.
02:14Awesome.
02:14I'm out of here.
02:15She's here for a chat, not an epidural.
02:17I'll take one.
02:18You want to like an epidural?
02:19Yeah.
02:20Straight after this.
02:21Now, Amy, you have shown us time and time again,
02:25it's not about massive overhauls.
02:28It's about making the spaces we're in work better
02:32for the people that are in them.
02:34Yeah.
02:35And this week, really walking into the space,
02:38I was thinking, OK, what am I going to do here?
02:40And I realised it was tiny.
02:42The space was tiny and that's very hard.
02:45So far, you've been breezing through these transformations.
02:48This one sounds like it might be a little bit more
02:50of a challenge for you.
02:51I'm so curious to see how you've come up trumps again.
02:57Let's have a look.
02:59Wayne, Hayley and son Levi love living
03:02on their 100-acre farm in country Victoria.
03:06While their surroundings are tranquil,
03:08their lives are quite the opposite.
03:11I work as an admin assistant for a towing company.
03:14I'm a concreter.
03:15Start early in the morning, usually finish mid-afternoon.
03:19We love to get home and relax.
03:21Well, try to.
03:22Try to.
03:23We've got border collie dogs, chooks, cows, sheep.
03:28So, get busy.
03:29Yeah, not much relaxed time.
03:30And our lounge room really needs new carpets,
03:35new couch, maybe a bit of storage as well
03:38because we use it for our son's toys.
03:40New blinds.
03:42New everything.
03:42New everything.
03:43New everything.
03:46Okay.
03:48We've got some work to do in here.
03:50Oh, golly.
03:52Firstly, the size.
03:54It's tiny in here.
03:56Carpet is so good.
03:58I reckon Flooring Extra can hook us up
04:01with some fresh new wool carpet.
04:04There was a big couch here that took up half the room,
04:07blocking this door.
04:09And Hayley and Wayne said they want to go out this door.
04:13So, got to figure that out where there's still enough seating,
04:17enough room to play, enough storage.
04:21And then, looking at this bank job,
04:24we're going to need a lot of prep work.
04:27Yay!
04:28It's a bit of rot.
04:29Just what we want for a quick reno.
04:31Can't even do your best in silicon the rest with that one.
04:34That's a bit...
04:36Definitely got our work cut out for us,
04:39but love a challenge.
04:40Let's get started.
04:42Before we can begin the painting,
04:44there's a tonne of prep work to do
04:46to ensure a smooth and even finish.
04:48The window frames are very worn out,
04:51so we're using a strong wood filler
04:52that will give them a whole new lease on life.
04:55So, I want to paint it kind of a very soft,
04:58greenish, sage colour.
05:01And I've got myself four paint samples.
05:03And the trick is, don't paint it on the walls in there
05:06because it leaves patches after you paint it
05:08and then you don't get the true effect
05:10of what it looks like in the different lights.
05:12I'm putting the paint samples on some cards,
05:14going to bring them in.
05:16The point is, testing them on different walls
05:18because they look completely different next to a window
05:20than they do over there on the ceiling.
05:22So, it's all about figuring out what it looks like,
05:24different spaces at different times of the day.
05:26I've got myself eucalyptus green,
05:30bringing a bit of nature back inside.
05:32Love it!
05:33We're colour-drenching the whole room.
05:36What is colour-drenching?
05:37It's literally when you paint everything,
05:39the skirting, the arcs, the ceiling, the same colour.
05:42It makes the space look bigger
05:43and this room definitely needed that.
05:46The only thing we haven't gone green
05:47is this fireplace brick wall.
05:50We're doing it in a warm white.
05:51It's going to bring contrast from everywhere
05:53and it's going to match the couch as well.
05:56While the painters continue,
05:58it's time I nut out a new and better layout.
06:02They've got this huge couch,
06:04a door they want to get out.
06:06So, we're going to cut that massive couch out.
06:09I think if we put a three-seater,
06:13big, comfortable couch at the back wall,
06:16I'd love to do recliners here,
06:18but they need to get out.
06:19I loved those swivel chairs at OzDesign.
06:28Chair, chair.
06:30Then you can face the fireplace.
06:33Face the TV.
06:35Face the couch.
06:36Yes.
06:38And then that will be the TV unit.
06:40Ottoman storage.
06:42They can come in the kitchen
06:44and bam, out that other door.
06:48Easy.
06:49This is exciting.
06:51But what do the animals think?
06:54I'm here to reno your lounge room.
06:56Oh, nice.
06:59Old mate Moo over there.
07:00Oh, I loved watching your brain tick over there.
07:08When you walk into a place like that
07:10that's clearly small and desperately in need of some help,
07:15where do you start?
07:17Chat GPT.
07:19No, I walk in and I stare at the space for a good 20 minutes.
07:23Yeah.
07:23Like, what am I going to do here?
07:25Yeah.
07:25But then the first thing I think of is the family
07:27and who I'm creating it for, functionality first
07:30and then think of the styling after.
07:32I can't wait to see how this all turns out.
07:35And we know you do too.
07:36The full reveal is coming up later in the episode.
07:39So stick around.
07:40After the break, Cheek is back with a wardrobe makeover
07:42that's guaranteed to inspire joy and jealousy.
07:46Oh, my God!
07:48The good kind.
07:49The good kind.
07:50See you soon.
07:54This segment is brought to you by Prime 100.
07:57Welcome back to Healthy, Wealthy and Wise.
08:04Our next makeover is for a mum who has spent years
08:08surrounded by testosterone, footy boots and BMX bikes.
08:13Now, it is finally her turn to put herself first
08:18after a pretty rough trot and rediscover a little feminine spark.
08:22Let's join Cheek are as the journey begins.
08:24Hi, Teagan.
08:39How are you?
08:39Good, thank you.
08:40It is so lovely to meet you.
08:42I've been so looking forward to coming today.
08:44Thank you for coming.
08:44I need your help.
08:45I can't wait to see.
08:46Let's have a look in your wardrobe.
08:47Come through.
08:48Hi, my name's Teagan.
08:50I'm 38 years old.
08:51I'm married and a mum of four boys.
08:53I wanted to get a style makeover
08:55because I'm feeling a little bit lost at the moment
08:58with the kids, not sure what to wear on a day-to-day basis.
09:01My style is the mum's style, exercise gear,
09:05flat tights, jumpers, runners and dry shampoo, probably.
09:09So I am a big sports mum.
09:13They race BMX.
09:15I was secretary of the local club for five years.
09:18They love it.
09:19I love giving them that support.
09:22I definitely want to make more time for myself,
09:24not much girly time in the household.
09:27As a mum, four boys, I literally have 10 minutes per day,
09:30jump out of bed, put some clothes on,
09:32maybe whack on a little bit of make-up.
09:34So I definitely want to take back my identity,
09:36definitely want to bring back the old Teagan.
09:39Let's have a look in here.
09:40Welcome.
09:41God, it's a big room.
09:42Very big.
09:42How exciting.
09:44Okay, well, what I'm seeing here
09:45is a lot of comfortable clothing.
09:46If you were to go out
09:47and you were to put an outfit together,
09:48what would you actually choose
09:50from what you've got here at the moment?
09:51I've got some jeans
09:52and probably just like one of these basic tops.
09:55Okay, so you're a jeans girl,
09:56but we're going to get you into dresses.
09:58Yes.
09:58Skirts.
09:59I've got lots of dresses here that I hardly wear.
10:02Don't have the time.
10:02I think, oh, that's all too hard.
10:04Just go with what I know.
10:06Top like this.
10:07When was the last time you wore that?
10:08That is when I used to work in an office.
10:11Back in 2020, my husband got really sick.
10:14He was having seizures.
10:16It started off as, you know,
10:17one seizure every couple of months,
10:19but he deteriorated really quickly,
10:21having multiple seizures a week.
10:24Declared unfit to work and to drive,
10:26had his licence removed from him.
10:28He ended up having brain surgery
10:30two years later to actually fix the issue.
10:32And thankfully he's been seizure free
10:35ever since that surgery.
10:37He was our main provider of the household.
10:39So therefore we had to roll reverse.
10:41I went to work full time.
10:43That time of our life was really hard.
10:45It took a toll mentally, financially.
10:48It was traumatic for all of us.
10:50I feel like from him being sick
10:51to then having children,
10:53there has just been no recovery time for myself.
10:56So I definitely want to start putting myself first,
11:00filling my own bucket up.
11:01My husband's very supportive of this.
11:03He thinks it's fabulous.
11:04The kids, I think this is so exciting.
11:07And I think we make a rule now
11:08that exercise gear is just for exercise.
11:10Yeah.
11:11So we don't wear it
11:11because it's easy to wear all day long.
11:13We have to sometimes make a bit of an effort,
11:15come home and I'm going to put my jeans on
11:16and a nice shirt and whatever else.
11:18Because the only way this changes
11:20is if you change it.
11:21Yeah.
11:21I feel like we've got a good starting point here.
11:23I'm so excited that we can take you
11:25into Blue Illusion.
11:26We're going to try on a whole lot
11:27of different outfits,
11:28dresses, pants, jackets, everything.
11:30But we're going to have so much fun
11:31making you feel beautiful and gorgeous.
11:33Lovely.
11:33I can't wait.
11:34I'm so excited.
11:36I feel like a fairy godmother.
11:39Well, you cannot tell me
11:41that you didn't immediately
11:42fall in love with the magical Tegan.
11:46What a legend.
11:47Been through so much.
11:49We're going to catch up with her a little later.
11:51But first,
11:52let's talk about the other family members
11:55who need looking after.
11:57The four-legged ones, of course.
11:59Because if we want our pets
12:00to live long, happy,
12:03zoomy-filled lives,
12:04their health matters
12:05just as much as ours.
12:10Everybody loves a cuddly puppy.
12:13But you know,
12:13those few extra kilos
12:14make a massive difference
12:16to their health.
12:17One in three Aussie dogs
12:19are overweight
12:19and the worst part is
12:21owners don't even know.
12:23While their beach bod
12:24is not that important,
12:26their health is.
12:29Do you think she's overweight?
12:31I think just a little bit.
12:33He's bang on, apparently.
12:35We are careful with her
12:36because she will eat anything.
12:38She's got a bit
12:39broad.
12:41I think he's a little overweight.
12:43Yeah.
12:43Why do you think that?
12:44Because that's what
12:45our vet tells us.
12:48Just like us,
12:50dogs thrive
12:50when their diet
12:51matches their lifestyle.
12:53Good food
12:54in the right portions
12:55coupled with the right amount
12:57of exercise
12:57is the secret
12:58to a healthy
12:59and a happy dog.
13:00When you check their weight,
13:02you put your hands
13:03over their ribs
13:04and you just run
13:05them back and forth.
13:06You want to feel
13:07a little bit of chub
13:09over the ribs
13:09but you need to still
13:10be able to feel the ribs.
13:12Yeah, okay.
13:12So you are perfect.
13:14Alright, just like this.
13:16Yep.
13:16I can feel his ribs.
13:18There's definitely
13:18a bit of like chub there.
13:20No, that's a microphone.
13:22What do you think?
13:23I think it looks pretty good, yeah.
13:24Yeah, best on beach.
13:26Great!
13:26Grief made!
13:27High five!
13:30Even a really small
13:31amount of extra weight
13:32on your dog
13:33can have a real
13:34massive health impact.
13:36At my vet hospital,
13:37I often see
13:38that spinal issues,
13:39bad legs
13:40and serious arthritis
13:42is a real problem
13:43for our overweight dogs.
13:45What do you guys
13:46feed your dogs?
13:47He eats kibble
13:48and he eats
13:49some fresh meat.
13:51We're giving fresh carrot.
13:53Carrots.
13:53Love carrots.
13:54Love carrots.
13:55Do you love biscuits?
13:57What you really
13:58have to concentrate on
14:00is portion control.
14:01Control their meal
14:02size.
14:03Are you ready, Bodie?
14:05How much to feed your dog
14:07depends on what
14:08you're actually feeding them.
14:09If we're feeding
14:10this fresh food,
14:12this is how much
14:13Bodie needs
14:14for one whole meal.
14:16When it comes
14:16to dry food,
14:18this is Bodie's
14:19whole meal.
14:21Good job.
14:21Bodie loves both of these.
14:22One is not better
14:23than the other,
14:24they're just different.
14:27If you're unsure
14:28how much to feed your dog,
14:30Prime 100 have this
14:31really great online calculator
14:32and you can input age,
14:34breed, lifestyle
14:35and it just takes the guesswork
14:37out of how much
14:37to feed your dog.
14:39Just like us,
14:40keeping your dogs
14:40in the healthy weight range
14:42can really contribute
14:43to a longer
14:44and happier life
14:45for your pets.
14:46Keep an eye on their weight
14:47and do something about it
14:49when it starts
14:49to creep up.
14:51Don't be ashamed
14:52if your dog
14:53is carrying a few
14:54extra kilos.
14:55It can happen
14:55to the best of us.
14:57My challenge
14:58to you dog owners
14:59is do the rib test.
15:00It's really easy
15:01and if they are carrying
15:02a few extra kilos,
15:04by using portion control
15:06and the right type of food,
15:08it can make
15:08a massive difference.
15:11Oh, dear.
15:12Don't go anywhere.
15:16After the break,
15:17we are hitting the ways
15:18with Dr Mike.
15:19Quick tips
15:20to keep you safe
15:21in the sun.
15:22And we sit down
15:23with our favourite crook
15:25turned comedian,
15:27turned quiz show contestant,
15:28Guyton Grantley.
15:29Let's see
15:30how tough he is
15:32while holding
15:33Python
15:34or Spider
15:35or whatever's
15:36in the box of death.
15:38See you soon.
15:38Healthy, Wealthy
15:45and Wise
15:45is brought to you
15:46by Specsavers.
15:51Welcome back
15:52to Healthy, Wealthy
15:53and Wise.
15:54Australians love
15:55the beach.
15:56Gosh, don't we?
15:57But the sun can be
15:58so brutal
15:59if you're not
16:00super careful.
16:02Now, this might be
16:03a dark question,
16:04but Ash,
16:06how long does it take
16:07to get sunburnt
16:09under the Australian sun?
16:11Thought you'd never ask, Chrissie.
16:13Because we've got
16:14clearer skies,
16:15less ozone
16:15and much higher UV,
16:17exactly,
16:18than most places,
16:19about 11 minutes
16:20you're at risk.
16:2211 minutes?
16:24That hat,
16:25perfection.
16:26You can't be too careful.
16:27You can never be too careful.
16:28I'm inside
16:29and I look like this.
16:30That puts it
16:31into perspective.
16:32Let's see what Dr Michael
16:33has to say
16:33about keeping safe
16:36under the Aussie sun.
16:48Welcome to one of
16:49Australia's iconic beaches.
16:51Now, if you haven't noticed,
16:53I'm from Scotland,
16:54where the only thing
16:55you need to worry about
16:55when you get in the water
16:56is getting eaten
16:57by the Loch Ness monster.
16:59But here in Australia,
17:00you have to worry
17:01about the sun
17:01and the surf.
17:03Now, I've never been
17:04a natural surfer
17:05and I haven't been
17:05on a board in 20 years
17:07and I wasn't even
17:07that good back then.
17:09But Aussies are
17:09a really friendly bunch
17:10so I'm going to get
17:11out of the waves,
17:12I'm going to go
17:12and have a chat with them
17:13and see how they stay safe
17:15in the surf and the sun.
17:24So, as you can see
17:25from me flapping about
17:26in the water,
17:27we like to have fun
17:28on this programme
17:29but being safe
17:30at the beach
17:30is really important.
17:31There was over 8,000
17:33surf rescues
17:34last year in Australia
17:35and unfortunately,
17:3680 people lost their lives.
17:38So, we're going to speak
17:38to Kai,
17:39who's a surf lifesaver
17:40and he's going to tell us
17:40all the important things
17:41to keep safe.
17:45Hey Kai,
17:46how you doing?
17:46All right,
17:47how are you?
17:48Good, thanks.
17:48You got time for a chat?
17:49100%.
17:50Nice to meet you.
17:51So, obviously,
17:52when we come to the beach,
17:54we're here to relax
17:55and enjoy time
17:56with our family
17:56but you've got
17:57a different purpose here.
17:58You've got to keep people safe.
17:59You must see some people
18:01doing some pretty stupid things
18:02down at the beach.
18:03So, what is your advice
18:04for staying safe
18:05in the water
18:06and out of the water?
18:07One of the main things
18:08is the red and yellow flags
18:10that the lifesaver
18:10set up at the start of the day.
18:12That is the marked
18:13safest place
18:14at the beach.
18:15The lifesavers
18:16do a risk assessment
18:17every day
18:17when they set up the flags
18:19and they know
18:20their beach as well.
18:21In terms of staying safe
18:23outside of the red and yellow flags,
18:25just be conscious
18:25of your own abilities,
18:27how you can,
18:27how confident you are
18:29in the surf,
18:30how confident you are
18:31in the water.
18:31We always hear about rips
18:32and people getting
18:33pulled out by rips.
18:35How do you navigate
18:36that situation?
18:37Because it must be pretty scary.
18:38Sometimes,
18:39on a beach like Tokay,
18:40we can have snap ribs.
18:42So, what we have to do
18:43with managing that
18:44is we'll either relocate
18:45the red and yellow flags
18:47or we'll close the beach.
18:49Our job is to prevent
18:50incidents and rescues
18:51before they actually happen.
18:57I see the effect
19:00that sun has on people
19:01on a daily basis.
19:03I work in the emergency department
19:04and I work in a skin cancer clinic.
19:07I see people coming in
19:08with the worst sunburns
19:09that you would not believe.
19:11And here's a trap
19:12that people fall into
19:13all the time
19:13and I want to make sure
19:14that you guys at home
19:15know about it
19:16so it doesn't happen to you.
19:18The UV is not related
19:20to the temperature.
19:21You're just as likely
19:22to get fried
19:23on a cloudy, windy day
19:25as you are
19:25on a 35 degree scorcher.
19:27The way around this
19:28is to check your phone,
19:29look at the weather app
19:30and look at what the UV is doing
19:32before you go to the beach.
19:34Don't get caught out.
19:36Skin cancer rates
19:37are still rising
19:38but it's no surprise.
19:40We look at sunscreen
19:41as being some sort of magic shield
19:43but in reality
19:44we're not good at putting it on,
19:46we're not good at reapplying
19:47and it lulls us into
19:48this false security
19:49that we're really looking after our skin
19:51when we're probably not.
19:53So here's my quick tips
19:55to keep you safe in the sun.
19:57Always use Factor 50
19:59and try to reapply
20:01ideally every two hours
20:03if you can
20:03and don't just use sunscreen.
20:06If the UV is extremely high
20:07maybe don't go out in the sun
20:09but use hacks,
20:11use rashes,
20:11use sunglasses.
20:13All of these things
20:14will keep you safe
20:15when you're in the sun.
20:18Protecting your eyes
20:19from that big fireball in the sky
20:21is as important
20:22as anything else.
20:23UV damage to the front of the eye
20:25can lead to things like cataracts
20:26and damage to the back of the eye
20:28can lead to permanent vision changes.
20:30Kids are more susceptible to damage
20:32because their lenses are clearer
20:34and that lets in more UV light
20:36to the back of the eye.
20:37So remember,
20:40when you're in the sun
20:41you need glasses
20:42that meet the Australian standards
20:44for UV.
20:45Here you go, Dean.
20:46So those have UV 400
20:48which are the best of the best lenses
20:50and they give you 100% protection
20:52against UVA and UVB rays.
20:54Wow!
20:55Which light are you?
20:56Amazing!
20:57Designer sunglasses?
20:59You'll be cool
21:00but your eyeballs won't be.
21:02Get something with proper UV protection.
21:06So these silly glasses
21:07that we put on kids
21:08can actually do more harm than good.
21:11The reason is
21:11the lenses don't have the UV protection
21:13and they do cause dilation of the pupils
21:16which makes more light
21:18go to the back of the eye
21:19and can cause more damage.
21:21So put them in the bin.
21:22I'm just parked over here, Kai.
21:25Cheers.
21:25Really appreciate it.
21:27In Australia
21:28we've done a really good job
21:30at making rashies,
21:31hats and sunscreen
21:32part of our routine
21:34before we go to the beach.
21:35But we need to do the same thing
21:37for our eyes.
21:38If it's bright enough
21:39to wear sunscreen
21:40it's bright enough
21:41to wear sunglasses.
21:43After all
21:43you're going to want to see
21:44if there's a mad Scotsman
21:45about to come off his surfboard.
21:47Oh, I can feel the warmth
21:53on my skin.
21:54If you want to feel
21:55the warmth on your skin
21:56spending more time
21:57by the ocean waves

22:35most recognisable
22:36and dare I say it
22:37beloved faces
22:38tries not to lose
22:40their cool.
22:41Yes, it's time for
22:43The Box of Death.
22:50Tonight's brave soul
22:52has run crime syndicates,
22:54raised families
22:55and even suffered
22:57through buzzarounds.
22:58Only on TV, of course.
23:00Please welcome
23:00Guyton-Grantley.
23:06You know, I've got to say
23:08I've always thought
23:10that you and I
23:10look like brother and sister.
23:12I agree with you.
23:13Yes.
23:14We should do some AI
23:15and just morph our faces together.
23:17Exactly.
23:20Normally this would be
23:21just a catch-up.
23:23I've got so much
23:23to talk to you about.
23:24Italy, for example,
23:26your incredible career
23:27but we can do that later
23:29because we've got
23:32a few guests
23:33to introduce to you.
23:35I've heard.
23:36This is, of course,
23:37The Box of Death.
23:38There's something in there.
23:38We don't know what it is.
23:40You can go with it
23:41or you can hold Lara.
23:44Please turn around,
23:45Guyton-Grantley,
23:46and be introduced
23:47to our gorgeous friend,
23:49Lara.
23:49She is the snake
23:50on the right.
23:51Hi, Lara.
23:53Oh, wow.
23:54She's gorgeous.
23:56Oh, God.
23:57Guyton's going to be
23:58one of those.
23:59Yeah, I grew up
24:00in Queensland.
24:01Like, I grew up
24:02with a spider
24:02on my face one night.
24:04That's happened
24:04to me as well.
24:06And he didn't even
24:06ask for my number.
24:08Here.
24:08Oh, there it is.
24:09This is Henrietta.
24:11I actually want to make
24:12a feature film
24:13called Huntsman.
24:14Do you know
24:14they're the only spider
24:15that actually hunts?
24:17Every other spider
24:18sets up a web
24:18or a trap
24:19or some sort?
24:20Now, you have
24:22a huge choice
24:24on your hands.
24:25You can go with
24:25either of those
24:26or you can risk it all
24:29for the Box of Death.
24:36It's like a good
24:37heavy metal name.
24:38Like, Box of Death.
24:42Hmm.
24:43It seems that Guyton-Grantley
24:44is not scared of spiders.
24:46He's not scared of snakes.
24:48So hopefully
24:49there's something
24:50terrifying in the Box of Death
24:52back after the break.
24:58This segment is brought to you
25:00by Bob Jane T-Mart's
25:02Best Tire Price Guarantee.
25:05Welcome back to
25:06Healthy, Wealthy and Wise.
25:08Just before the break,
25:10we left legendary
25:11Australian actor
25:12Guyton-Grantley
25:13staring down
25:14three unsavoury options.
25:16The snake,
25:16the spider
25:17or
25:18the mystery box.
25:20Oh, dear.
25:25But don't worry, Guyton.
25:27This is a very professional
25:28outfit here.
25:29OK.
25:29We have ticked
25:30all the boxes
25:31and taken some precautions.
25:33Just in case things
25:34get a little bit
25:35dangerous,
25:36maybe a little bit dirty,
25:37we've got a sanitation expert.
25:38Great.
25:39Yeah.
25:40What's it going to be?
25:43Lara the python,
25:45Henrietta the spider
25:47or whatever is lurking
25:49beneath the box.
25:51Oh.
25:54Look, I don't think
25:55it's any surprise
25:56that I'm pretty keen
25:58for a surprise.
25:59Yes.
25:59So, let's go
26:00the box of death.
26:01Yes.
26:02I love this.
26:05I'll get this for you.
26:06Ash, Ash.
26:08Oh.
26:09There's nothing there.
26:11The C in the ears.
26:12What we've got in store
26:13for you
26:13was too big
26:13for the box.
26:14Oh, wow.
26:15It's too big
26:15for the box.
26:17Hey.
26:19Oh, cute.
26:20Huge.
26:21But its mouth
26:23is tied up
26:23so that means
26:24it is dangerous.
26:25Can I get a bit of cuddle?
26:27Yeah, absolutely.
26:27What's his name?
26:28This is Snappy Tom.
26:30Snappy.
26:31Just before we go on,
26:32you're so relaxed.
26:33The whole point of this
26:34is that you're freaking out
26:35and you can't even
26:36understand what I'm saying.
26:38Why don't we put
26:39all three of them on him
26:40and just see what happens?
26:41Well, the crew says
26:42we can do it.
26:43I suppose I'd better
26:43get your permission.
26:45Do you want to do
26:46all three?
26:46Let's do all three.
26:48What could possibly
26:49go wrong?
26:51Can you just sign
26:52here for us?
26:53Right.
26:53So everything goes
26:54to Chrissie?
26:55Is that what happens?
26:56I whispered at 50-50.
26:59Actually, that says
27:0090-10 in your favour.
27:01Okay, I'm getting
27:02a little nervous now.
27:03Oh, okay.
27:03It is actually happening
27:04right here in front of us.
27:05No, I'm actually
27:06getting really nervous now.
27:07Okay, we are going
27:08to start the clock.
27:10It's on my head.
27:11It's on my head.
27:12Oh!
27:13Oh, my God.
27:14I have his eye.
27:14Oh, my God.
27:16I don't know.
27:16Oh, in your eye.
27:18It's the stuff
27:19of nightmares.
27:19Oh!
27:20No, it's working.
27:21I am...
27:22You're panicking.
27:23Okay, this is great.
27:24No, okay.
27:24I'm good again.
27:25Can you please perform
27:26a Ron Weasley line
27:28from the stage play?
27:31Sunshine, daisies,
27:33marshmallow,
27:34turn this stupid,
27:35fat, yellow!
27:37You have been living
27:38in Italy until recently.
27:40Is it a travesty
27:41that there is no such thing
27:42as pineapple on pizza
27:44in the entire country?
27:45There are Italian chefs,
27:47pizziolas,
27:48who are...
27:48You've got to, like,
27:50barbecue the pineapple.
27:51You've got to use prosciutto
27:52instead of, you know,
27:54crap ham.
27:55Like, it's done.
27:56Check it out.
27:56Look it up.
27:57When you order a coffee
27:59and they say,
27:59what name am I writing
28:01on the cup,
28:01do you just say John?
28:03James.
28:03Actually, I do say James.
28:04That's my middle name.
28:05Oh!
28:06Oh!
28:06Oh!
28:06Oh!
28:07Oh!
28:08It's real.
28:12It's real.
28:13It's whispering
28:14sweet nothings to me.
28:15Mm-mm.
28:17Time is up.
28:19Ladies and gentlemen,
28:20put your hands together
28:20for the incredible
28:21guy, Grantley.
28:24That!
28:27Yeah, like,
28:28I mean,
28:29as tough as I pretend to be,
28:30like, it's...
28:31Yeah, you're shaking.
28:32It's scary, man.
28:33Yeah.
28:33These are the most
28:34dangerous spider in Australia
28:35through car accidents
28:36and heart attacks.
28:37Yes!
28:38Now, from facing fears
28:40to finding flair,
28:41up next,
28:42Chica is taking
28:44makeover nominee
28:45Tegan to pull together
28:47a wardrobe
28:47that lets her celebrate
28:49and enjoy
28:51her femininity.
28:54Hello, gorgeous Tegan.
28:55How are you?
28:56Now, we're going to go in here
28:57and do some shopping,
28:58but before we go in,
28:59just a little reminder.
29:00Yep.
29:00We're going to get you
29:01into some great dresses.
29:02Yep.
29:02Some pretty colours.
29:03We're going to make you feel
29:04feminine and gorgeous again.
29:05That sounds so good.
29:06Okay, fantastic.
29:07Well, let's go inside
29:08and start shopping.
29:09Let's do it.
29:10Okay.
29:11Tegan, I would absolutely
29:12love you to meet Donna
29:13who owns Blue Illusion.
29:14Hello.

29:27Yeah.
29:27Exactly.
29:27We've got to try some new looks
29:28and some new shape.
29:33This is an outfit
29:34that I absolutely love.
29:36I really love the pants.
29:37Not sure about the top?
29:38Yeah, I'm not sure
29:39on the colours
29:40and the pattern.
29:41This is a really good
29:42classic piece for you.
29:43Cute T-shirt underneath it
29:44or with a dress.
29:45I love that.
29:46Is there anything else here
29:47that's jumping out at you?
29:48I do like this top.
29:49I mean, that's the kind of top
29:50you could tie back
29:50with a cute pair of jeans.
29:52Do you like those
29:52pink bubblegum jeans?
29:53I'm willing to give them a go.
29:55Tegan?
29:55I don't know if I'd wear them.
29:57We can do another colour.
29:57It doesn't have to be pink.
29:58You could do blue
29:59or just denim.
30:00The linen pant.
30:01Or the linen pant.
30:02They'd look great
30:02with a linen pant.
30:03There is a dress
30:04I really want to show you
30:05because I saw it
30:06and thought of you straight away

30:22Oh my gosh.
30:23Look at you.
30:24Do you feel beautiful?
30:25I do.
30:26I love the looseness.
30:27Do you like this bag?
30:28Yes, I do.
30:29I think it's a real cutie.
30:29Yeah, love the colour.
30:31Oh, and the denim jacket
30:33of course over the shoulders.
30:34Perfect.
30:36And the last thing
30:36I wanted to show you
30:37because I really think
30:38the versatility of this dress
30:40is going to be perfect for you.
30:41Yeah, that's very cute.
30:43Is it?
30:43I like that.
30:43I think that's a brilliant look on you.
30:45And you know, it's a good dress.
30:47You could still wear that
30:47to the BMX track
30:48and not feel out of place
30:49but you could also dress it up
30:50for your girlfriends.
30:51How do you feel?
30:52Yeah, I love it.
30:53Sexy?
30:53You're rocking it.
30:54Okay, Tegan,
30:55next look for you
30:56which is the one
30:56I am hoping you love.
30:59Ooh.
31:01Okay, what are we thinking?
31:02I don't like the top.
31:03Do you like it?
31:03No, just the pattern.
31:04I like the cut.
31:05Let's take that off then.
31:06I'm going to give you
31:07there's the white tee.
31:08This and this.
31:09Perfect.
31:10And you can wear those
31:10with those pants.
31:11Very cute.
31:13We need some jewellery.
31:14Yeah, I think we're
31:14doing this ad.
31:15Something's missing, earrings.
31:16I mean, you have stolen my look.
31:17You've done the reverse of me.
31:20Love.
31:20I love that.
31:21Time for you to get changed.
31:23We're going to whip you off
31:24to hair and make-up.
31:24We're going to put together
31:25a reveal outfit for you
31:26so watch this space.
31:28It's so lovely to meet you, Sheridan.
31:37My pleasure.
31:38So how long have you
31:39known Tegan for?
31:40Tegan and Gary moved in next door.
31:43When she moved there
31:44she only had the two bigger boys
31:45and since then
31:46she's had the two little boys.
31:47I claim there's a little bit
31:48of a daughter next door.
31:49Oh, I love that.
31:51And I am a little bit
31:52of a GMR to her children.
31:54She's a wonderful mother.
31:55Life is very challenging for them.
31:57It's why it's special
31:58that we've been able
31:58to do this for her.
31:59And I have to say
32:00when she walked in the door today
32:01she had a smile already
32:02before we even began.
32:03I know, I know.
32:04Should we have a look at her now?
32:06Yes, please.
32:06OK, let's do it.
32:07Tegan, are you ready for us
32:09to see you?
32:09I sure am.
32:15Oh, my God.
32:17Look at you.
32:19You look amazing.
32:21I love this outfit.
32:25Oh, my God.
32:27Oh, you look beautiful.
32:32All right, let's do a little cheers
32:33to our gorgeous girl.
32:34Cheers.
32:35Cheers.
32:36Our little rock star.
32:42Thank you so much.
32:43You're welcome.
32:44It has been such a treat.
32:46You look amazing.
32:47It has been so lovely
32:48to meet you too.
32:49Please go and enjoy
32:51your gorgeous, hot new look.
32:53Bye.
32:53Oh, wow.
32:59Never underestimate
33:00the power of therapy
33:02and by that I mean
33:02retail therapy.
33:04We're going to let everyone
33:05have a little bit
33:06of a breather
33:07and after the break
33:08I'm going to be rolling
33:10up my sleeves
33:11for another
33:12shortcut
33:13queen recipe.
33:15You are going to make this.
33:16This is how easy it is.
33:17Hope you like fritters.
33:18This segment is brought to you
33:24by the Amy Driving Test.
33:26Lucky you're with Amy.
33:30Welcome back to healthy, wealthy
33:31and wise.
33:32Now, insurance.
33:35It is not glamorous
33:36but it is essential.
33:38Oh, my God, have I?
33:40I haven't paid my car insurance.
33:42Today, we are cutting through
33:44the fine print.
33:45Home, car, life.
33:47We've put all of your questions
33:49to an expert
33:50and you're going to want
33:52these answers
33:53before the next fender bender,
33:55leaky roof
33:55or, heaven forbid,
33:57meteor shower.
33:58Hi, I'm Stephen Hussey
34:05from Amy Insurance
34:06and there are no dumb questions.
34:09Jemima H asks,
34:10if someone is driving my car
34:12and they crash it,
34:13whose insurance pays?
34:14Well, I'd firstly start
34:16by saying
34:16don't lend them your car again.
34:19Most insurers
34:20will cover all drivers
34:21that you give permission
34:22to drive your vehicle.
34:23There sometimes
34:24can be some exclusions.
34:25That's where it's really important
34:26just to make sure
34:27that you understand
34:28the terms and conditions
34:29that come with that insurance.
34:30But generally,
34:30the policyholder
34:31is the one that's responsible
34:32for paying the excess
34:33for that claim.
34:34Isabella M asks,
34:36I don't really have much stuff
34:37that's worth anything.
34:38Why would it be worth me insuring?
34:40Isabella,
34:41you might say
34:42you don't have a lot of things
34:43that are worth insuring,
34:44but I can assure you
34:45if you had to go
34:46and replace all of those items,
34:47it can very quickly add up.
34:49Eliza G asks,
34:50what's the most memorable thing
34:52you've ever seen
34:52someone claim for?
34:54One just recently
34:55that really sticks out
34:56where a young couple
34:57had just purchased
34:58a new property
34:59before they even had
35:00a chance to move in
35:01had a burst flexi hose
35:03which pumped hot water
35:04through their property
35:05for about four or five days
35:06while there was no one there.
35:07There was water streaming
35:08out the front door
35:09and steam everywhere.
35:11The place had already
35:12started filling with mould.
35:13Not a great experience
35:15for them
35:15and took us quite a while
35:16to get them back
35:17on their feet
35:17and get all those
35:18repairs completed.
35:19Grace M asks,
35:21if I have solar panels,
35:22do they automatically
35:23fall under the protection
35:24of my house insurance?
35:25Most insurers
35:26will cover solar panels
35:27as part of the home.
35:28They are a fixed
35:29outdoor item to your property
35:31so they do fall under
35:32your home building
35:33insurance cover.
35:34Ravi M asks,
35:36if my car is hit
35:36by an uninsured driver,
35:38am I just out of luck?
35:39There are definitely
35:40car insurance policies
35:41that will cover you
35:42for not-at-fault accidents.
35:44Make sure you get
35:45as many details
35:46of the other driver
35:47as possible.
35:48Take photos
35:48of the accident scene.
35:50If you are unlucky enough
35:51to have an accident,
35:52hopefully you'll have insurance
35:54and you're lucky
35:55you're with Amy.
35:57Is it too much?
36:00Welcome back
36:01into our little kitchen.
36:02I'm so thrilled
36:03to be here with you, Ash.
36:04As am I.
36:05Now, have you bought this yet?
36:06I'm a shortcut queen.
36:07My book is now available.
36:09We're doing a recipe out of it.
36:11Take your mind back
36:11to COVID times.
36:12I mean, I know
36:13that it's the C word,
36:14but I'm going to use it.
36:15We all lost our minds,
36:16but we all gained
36:17a waffle maker.
36:18There's only so many
36:19sweet things you can have.
36:20I am going
36:22to resurrect
36:23those waffle makers
36:25that are sitting
36:25in your cupboard.
36:26I know they are,
36:27that you used once
36:28on a Sunday
36:28and then never used again.
36:30Corn fritters
36:31in the waffle maker.
36:34We did waffle
36:35a bit yesterday.
36:38I like my fritters
36:39to be very, very corny,
36:41like I like my men.
36:42There is a lot
36:43of corn in here.
36:44You're not a cook.
36:45Are you confident?
36:46Absolutely not.
36:47Yeah, great.
36:48You are going to make this.
36:49This is how easy it is.
36:50Crack an egg.
36:51In there?
36:51Normally I would do it
36:52separately,
36:52but we're not.
36:53We're going to do it
36:53exactly like you would
36:54do it at home
36:55with a hangover
36:56and two kids going,
36:57I'm hungry.
36:58Go.
36:59Is there a shell in there?
37:00Yeah, that's why
37:01I like to do it
37:01in a separate bowl.
37:03Spring onion.
37:04In.
37:05Save some
37:06for a little bit of garnish.
37:07Self-raising flour
37:08to give it that
37:09in, in.
37:11Go.
37:12This in too?
37:12Yep.
37:13Corn flour gives it
37:14the crunch.
37:14Yes.
37:15Bi-carb soda
37:16which also adds
37:17the puff.
37:18Some salt
37:19because we love salt.
37:22What's this, milk?
37:23Yes.
37:23Pour that in as well.
37:24Yep.
37:25Give that a good mix.
37:26Go for it, Ash.
37:27This is going to end up everywhere.
37:27Go.
37:28Dad, will you play Lego
37:29with me later?
37:30I've got a sore head.
37:31My head is hot.
37:33You know, you can do it.
37:34I can do it.
37:34Even when you're being harassed.
37:36I know.
37:36Okay, that's good?
37:37That's it.
37:38Okay, great.
37:38This is hot.
37:39All right, now spoon that in.
37:40You're a good boy.
37:41Keep on piling.
37:42Not too much though
37:43because it'll all come out.
37:44You said that after I do
37:45a big lump.
37:45No, no, it's okay.
37:46Yeah, push it.
37:47Go.
37:48We're going to do
37:49a bit of magic of television.
37:50That's what they look like.
37:52Look.
37:52Beautiful.
37:53Died and gone to heaven.
37:54Bang.
37:57I'm going to make you
37:58the perfect bite.
37:59Yes, please.
38:00Look at that.
38:01All right, you ready?
38:02I'm so ready.
38:03Come on.
38:04Oh my goodness.
38:06Okay.
38:07You did that.
38:08That is today's
38:09Short Cut Queen hack.
38:11Oh my God.
38:11Here's my book.
38:12Everything in here
38:14is in here.
38:16Next up,
38:16we see the final reveal
38:18of Amy's room rescue.
38:21Oh my goodness.
38:22It doesn't even look
38:23like the same layout room.
38:24It's good, isn't it?
38:25Oh my God.
38:26I'm so happy.
38:27See you soon.
38:34This segment is brought to you
38:36by Oz Design.
38:37Furniture for life.
38:41Welcome back to Healthy,
38:43Wealthy and Wise.
38:44We have reached the finale
38:45of today's DIY project.
38:48And once again,
38:49I'm joined by our
38:50Titan on the Tools.
38:51Amy, you are helping
38:53a family make a tiny
38:55little room useful
38:57and beautiful again.
38:58You must get such a buzz
38:59from it.
38:59I do because it is
39:00such a privilege
39:01that they let me
39:02into their home
39:03some random
39:04and just to take
39:06everything out
39:06and completely redo
39:07the space.
39:08And there was a lot
39:09of challenges
39:10with this one.
39:11A, it was tiny.
39:13Their couch was
39:13in front of a door.
39:14The mantelpiece was rotted
39:16and we only had
39:17a couple of days.
39:18I can't wait to see
39:19how you've resuscitated
39:21this room.
39:22Let's have a look.
39:23Back at the farm,
39:26there's been
39:26tremendous progress.
39:28Colour drenched
39:30this whole room.
39:33It actually feels
39:33bigger now.
39:34And it's kind of
39:35the in thing
39:36at the moment.
39:37But what else
39:37is coming in
39:38is timber beading
39:40and moulding like this.
39:41And it's come back
39:42in fashion.
39:43That's why I'm still
39:44keeping my skinny jeans
39:46because I know
39:46in another 10 years
39:47I'll be back.
39:49The next job
39:50is ripping out
39:51the old stained carpet
39:52than installing
39:53a new one.
39:55I know this family
39:57needs this place
39:57to relax
39:58and carpet is hard
39:59to beat
40:00when it comes
40:00to warmth
40:01and comfort.
40:02I'm installing
40:03a wool carpet
40:04because it's
40:04fire resistant
40:05and a natural
40:07beige colour
40:08will complement
40:08the eucalyptus walls
40:09perfectly.
40:17So the current
40:18mantelpiece
40:18has seen better days.
40:19It's got a fair bit
40:20of rot in it.
40:21I could have
40:22taken it off
40:23and replaced it
40:24with a new one
40:24but I thought
40:25it would be easier,
40:26faster and look
40:27a lot better
40:28if I actually
40:29box out
40:30some pine
40:30and frame over
40:31the top
40:32and paint it
40:33a beautiful
40:33stained walnut colour.
40:37Because pine
40:38is naturally
40:38quite bright
40:39I like to do
40:40three coats
40:41to achieve
40:41a rich
40:42and even colour.
40:45I feel like
40:45I'm under
40:46a bit of pressure
40:46here.
40:47I've got an audience.
40:48They're definitely
40:48judging me.
40:53Apart from the
40:54fireplace
40:55I'm really
40:55going for softness
40:56all round
40:57including the windows.
40:59This is my
41:00secret weapon.
41:02The shears bring
41:02so much softness
41:03to the room
41:04and running them
41:05on the entire wall.
41:08Look at that.
41:09Look at that.
41:11Finally
41:11it's time
41:12to get the furniture
41:13in.
41:14Ah
41:15look at that
41:15beautiful mirror.
41:16Nice.
41:17These are another
41:18secret weapon.
41:21They're an ottoman
41:21but because we're
41:23in such a small
41:23space
41:24they're also
41:25full of storage.
41:27How good.
41:29It's because we've got
41:30another cabinet
41:31going there.
41:38I'm sticking
41:39to warm wood tones
41:40soft white
41:41and green
41:42so all the beauty
41:43of outside
41:44is reflected
41:44on the inside.
41:46It's actually
41:47fitting quite well.
41:48Sometimes I think
41:49to myself
41:49I actually know
41:51what I'm doing
41:52but we'll see.
41:54Last but not least
41:55my own
41:56custom made creation.
41:58Alright
41:59mantelpiece is done.
42:00I'm super stoked
42:01with how the space
42:02turned out
42:02but really
42:03the only opinion
42:04that matters
42:04is the homeowners
42:05so let's bring them in.
42:06No peeking.
42:09Keep your eyes
42:09closed
42:10and just
42:11remember what
42:12this space
42:12looked like before.
42:14A couple of stains
42:15on the carpet.
42:16There was a huge
42:17couch
42:18blocking a door
42:19to your beautiful
42:19outside.
42:21The paint job
42:22was a bit
42:22how you're going.
42:24In
42:24three
42:25two
42:27one
42:28open your eyes.
42:30Oh my goodness.
42:31It's so different.
42:37It doesn't even look
42:37like the same lounge room.
42:39A bit of a change.
42:40Yes.
42:41Yeah.
42:41Wow.
42:43Wow.
42:45I love it.
42:46It actually doesn't
42:47look like the same room.
42:48No.
42:48Not at all.
42:49Oh my goodness.
42:50Brand new carpet.
42:52All new furniture.
42:53You've got access
42:54to your door now
42:55so you can open it
42:56and walk outside.
42:58And then
42:59new mantelpiece.
43:00Yeah I love them.
43:01And the bricks
43:02behind the fire.
43:03We've kept
43:04enough seating
43:05but we've also
43:06smashed out
43:07storage everywhere
43:07so there's storage
43:08in there
43:09for all Levi's toys
43:10and also
43:12cheeky
43:13bit of storage.
43:14Oh wow.
43:15That's cool.
43:16That's cool.
43:17New paint job.
43:18We did want to use
43:19just light green colour
43:20to bring the outside in
43:21and how beautiful
43:23are the shears
43:23that have gone up.
43:24Yeah.
43:25I love it.
43:25It feels so cosy.
43:27Yeah.
43:28They're very different.
43:28Yeah.
43:29They're very good.
43:30They're very, very happy.
43:32Yeah.
43:32Love it.
43:32Yeah.
43:33Amazing job.
43:34Thank you so much.
43:35Wow.
43:39What a transformation
43:41Amy.
43:42I know.
43:43And the thing is
43:44these are so achievable.
43:46You don't have to
43:47spend a million dollars.
43:48It's not going to take you
43:49two years of the reno.
43:51Just take little steps.
43:52A huge thank you
43:53to all of our experts today.
43:55Thank you so much Amy.
